Mascara -Lancome - Cils Booster
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 6:15:00 PM
I LOVE this! I use it under my YSL Faux Cils, or DiorShow, or Bad Gal & it makes them so easy to apply. It also makes them slightly more intensified & helps to remove them too. I only use it on a night out as it gives that slightly more dramatic look & it's not cheap. It lasts me ages & doesn't seem to dry out though. I've used cheaper versions in the past (the double ended mascara's you get) & they're not as good, so it's worth the extra money.

Mascara -Kiss Me - Kiss Me Mascara
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 6:08:00 PM
I loved this "day" mascara until I discovered Mac's Loud Lash!! This was great because it didn't budge all day, no matter what - no smudges, flakes & totally waterproof. However, I tried Mac's Loud Lash & that does all of the above, plus it makes my eye lashes look naturally longer & fuller. Blinc does nothing for my lashes, it makes them look very limp & I don't have particularly short lashes. My friend also tried Mac's after using Blic & wouldn't go back to Blinc. Blinc is also very wet & seems to drown my lashes when I apply it - it goes easily on my eye lids too. Mac is harder to remove, but I'd rather that than wear a mascara that does nothing for my lashes. I recommend look around before sticking with this, if you want a mascara to add length/thickness/curl etc, as well as stay put all day!!

Scrubs -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bum Deal [DISCONTINUED]
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 5:56:00 PM
I didn't buy this - I got it in a BeneFit pack I won at a charity auction, & it came with the Wonder Mitt. I don't really suffer with cellulite so can't really comment on it's performance for that. As a body scrub though, WOW! It is AMAZING! I use it on my arms, legs & bum & after the first time I used it my skin became SO soft. My friends had touched my arms & were like "Your skin so so soft, what have you done?!" I only use it once a week due to the price, but my skins still soft all week. I can't fault the product itself - it also feels & smells great when using it. The price is high though & I don't feel it'll last as long as my other BeneFit stuff (which make them good value for money). I would still re-purchase though because I've not tried anything else like it, it really is a miracle scrub.

Eyes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Big Beautiful Eyes
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 5:47:00 PM
I didn't buy this, I won it as part of a BeneFit pack in a charity auction. I've not given it a rating of 5 because I don't like the concealer - I have better ones & so don't use it ever. However, I adore the shadows & brushes, particularly the liner shadow & brush. It gives the most amazing look & so many people commented on it. I find liquid/pencil eye liners too severe, but this is amazing. I find it better to wet the eye liner brush slightly before putting it in the powder, as it intensifies it a little. I also love blending the pink & brown shadows together with the liner, to make my eyes look amazing & seductive. I could only wear them all on a night out though, as I find it really quite dramatic!! It's an amazing pack & even without using the concealer, I'd definitely buy it again at that cost, partly because it lasts for ages anyway!!!

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 5:34:00 PM
I didn't buy this as I won it in a BeneFit pack at a charity auction. I use this as my natural foundation, which isn't often. I'm someone who usually only wears foundation on nights out, & then I use more dramatic ones. However, when I do use this it covers my inperfections quite well & helps keep my oily skin slightly tame. I have medium skin, as in I tan well & i find this slightly too light when I'm really tanned. In the winter it blends in fine! There's also no SPF in it, which I prefer to have. I love the packaging, with a lovely big mirror, but I don't find the sponge that great & prefer using a brush. I'm still undecided if I'll pay the money for it because I don't use it regularly, but that's the only reason really & this ones lasting ages anyway!!

Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage - Cooling Mint Shampoo
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 5:10:00 PM
My hair: Thick, dyed/bleach blondes, long, wavy, greasy. Never blowdry, but I use GHD's a couple of times a week. My friend who's my hairdresser got me into Matrix & I'm always amazed at their products. She advised me to get this because I'm prone to greasy roots/scalp & my hair usually needs washing after a day! This feels amazing on my scalp & smells lovely, it lathers really well & feels like it's getting my whole head clean. I do use this with another shampoo (Body Shop Nettle shampoo - for greasy hair), as one shampoo's not enough. It has helped even more & can usually now get away with 2days without washing my hair. I used to get an itchy scalp, especially in the heat, but this has really helped & I hardly ever itch now. I've not given it 5 because I don't think it would do quite as well if I used once on its own. Used regularly with Ultra Hydrating Conditioning Balm & Smoothing Shine Milk, my hairs never been in better condition.

Treatments -Matrix - Biolage - Smoothing Shine Milk

My hair: Thick, dyed/bleach blondes, long, wavy, greasy. Never blowdry, but I use GHD's a couple of times a week. My friend who's my hairdresser got me into Matrix & I'm always amazed at their products. This along with the Ultra Hydrating Conditioning Balm, are my favourites & I would classify them are miracle products. After I've washed my hair I spray it through my hair, lifting the hair as I go, then I comb it through. I only used this when I was going on a night out as it's £12 for 250ml, but the difference from when I do & don't use it is so different I have to use it every time!! It makes my hair so so so soft & frizz free, & adds so much shine!! I can't put it into words, but I've had so many amazing comments since. I've got friends onto the product, who are also so amazed with the impact on their hair. It's easy to spritz on & it smells & feels lush. I can't fault it & it's worth every penny. Matrix you are just AMAZING, thank you!!

Conditioner -Matrix - Biolage Ultra Hydrating Conditioning Balm
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 4:47:00 PM
My hair: Thick, dyed/bleach blondes, long, wavy, greasy. Never blowdry, but I use GHD's a couple of times a week. My friend who's my hairdresser got me into Matrix & I'm always amazed at their products. This & Smoothing Shine Milk are my absolute favourites. This conditioner is amazing, a real miracle. I put a small blob on my hand & rub them together, smooth through my hair, comb through & leave for a couple of minutes. When I'm combing it through it feels incredibly soft & the knots come out so easily. My hair has been noticeably softer & more manageable - I couldn't live without this now. The best way I can describe it is like those amazing conditioners that come with hair dyes, but BETTER!!! The big tub package is not ideal & could do with a pump or something, but at £12 for 500ml I cannot really complain about this product!!!!

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 4:32:00 PM
I didn't buy this - it was part of a BeneFit pack I won in a charity auction. I am a mascara addict & I put this on par with DiorShow, behind YSL Faux Cils. It's more of a natural dramatic look for me, if that makes sense! Faux Cils almost does look like false eyelashes, whereas Bad Gal makes it look like MY lashes are long & thick. It does make them curl a little as well. It doesn't clump or smudge really, but it can go on my eye lids sometimes when I apply it. That's the only flaw I can really give it - the brush is slightly awkward & it can easily transfer onto my skin. Also, if my eyes water even the slightest bit, then it can get really messy for a non waterproof mascara. I would happily re-purchase & continue to use this or DiorShow for casual nights out...

Tinted Moisturizer -BeneFit Cosmetics - You Rebel
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 4:18:00 PM
I didn't buy this - I won it in a BeneFit pack in a charity auction. I think this is not one for people with light skin tones as it made my friend with fair skin go a bit orange. However, I have medium/tanned skin & it doesn't make me go orange at all. It makes me look slightly more tanned & does hide some small imperfections on my skin. I only wear it in the sun because foundations too heavy & this has SPF in too. The flaws I found were that it's slightly too thick & is hard to blend in evenly, quickly. You must also apply it in bright light to check it hasn't left streaks etc!! It can get a little oily, but that's my skin anyway unless I use powder. The heaviness can bring out a few spots though, which is a shame. My better alternative is to mix a small amount of my minerals powder with my daily face moisturiser (with SPF). However, when I'm in a hurry or travelling that just isn't feesible, so tinted moisturiser is a great idea. This ones okay, not bad, until I find better. I'm not sure I'd pay the retail price for it though...

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
Fashion_Hottie 6/7/2008 4:04:00 PM
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Just to be clear - this product is intended to give a natural cheek & lip colour, so those who are saying they're disappointed because it's not dramatic enough have the wrong product. I also don't understand comments saying you need to have light skin for it to show - I have medium skin (in summer anyway as i tan well) & yes i needed to put 2 layers on, but that left me with a natural flush of baby pink. It's just right & lasts all day. The lip colour also needs 2 layers to be noticeable, but again, it's just right. I love it & that was my main reason for purchasing it - a nice baby pink lip stain that lasts, & it does!! Applying it was simple - I put 3 strokes on & blended, 1 cheek at a time. I had no problems at all. On my lips i blotted it on & then blended, but found it wasn't totally even. So i brushed it across my lips & dabbed it in - perfect!!! It is pricey at £20, but I feel it will last a long time & does exactly what I needed. I cannot find any flaws with the product itself, so would happily pay that price again. Admittedly I am a cheek/lip stain virgin - I didn't want a red one & I'd happily try any other pink 1s, but this will be tough to beat!! I'm a pretty tough make-up critique as well :) UPDATE REGARDING APPLICATION: I have to say someone else on here who gave advise about applying it to the cheeks via a brush, is a genius! When using your fingers you do have to be so quick & gradually build it up to avoid streaks. However, I tried dabbing it onto a big blush brush, so it's evenly spread, then I applied like normal blush. FABULOUS! So much easier, quicker & flawless. Thank you!

Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Minerals
Fashion_Hottie 10/27/2007 10:46:00 AM
I heard about this minerals craze earlier this year & it sounded really good, especially with the added SPF. I didn't want to try an expensive 1 first, so went for L'Oreal. Ok, so the packaging is a pain, but that's honestly my only main problem with it. I unfortunately suffer with spots & putting this on over my concealer makes my skin almost flawless. When I began using this the difference my skin looked was so noticable - especially in photographs. I got this in summer & so had quite a dark colour (because I tan well), so I may need a lighter colour in winter. It can be applied lightly & blended well though. Apart from my spots, my skins pretty good, so to even it up this is the best foundation I've used. I also forget I have it on as it feels so light, but unfortunately it transfers to my clothes quite badly. This is 1 make-up item I won't leave the house without & it also doesn't make my spots worse or anything. I need powder because I have oily skin & this really lasts all day/night. I think the packaging problem is worth the effort & I'm disabled!! Final point - do not use the brush that comes with it, invest in a good brush & you should have absolutely no problems!!! Plus it's not expensive :)

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
Fashion_Hottie 10/27/2007 10:34:00 AM
I do love this product, alongside YSL Faux Cils, for the false eyelash look. However for me, YSL just beats this based on the fact this smudges/flakes slightly more & the colours not as intense. Bad points: Smudges/flakes under my eyes, lack of intensity & quite expensive, which needs regular replacement. Good points: Not only lengthens well, but curls, separates well, nice brush that gives minimal marks on skin & easy to remove. Overall: I can't overly fault this mascara & it maybe that it smudges/flakes because my skins slightly oily. So it may work better for you, but still isn't as dramatic as YSL.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
Fashion_Hottie 10/27/2007 10:24:00 AM
I use this alternatively with Diorshow whenever I go at on a night, but this still gives the biggest & most dramatic look. Bad points: Pricey, needs replacing after a couple of months as it seems to dry out & go really clumpy & not waterproof (which is just the biggest flaw) Good points: Lengthens so much, minimal clumps, bold & dramatic colour, definitely gives fake eyelash look, separates pretty well, look lasts all night, pretty good brush - little goes on skin & easy to remove. Overall: This is the best mascara I've tried that gives the false eyelash effect & I've had several comments saying how amazing they look. If you're like me & want your eyelashes to be your signature feature, then I definitely recommend this - if you can afford it!!! (I use ebay or wait for duty free) :)

Mascara -MAC - Loud Lash
Fashion_Hottie 10/27/2007 10:10:00 AM
This is my everyday mascara & I swiched to this from Blinc (which stays put but doesn't do anything for my lashes). Bad points: Really difficult to remove & dries very quickly. Good points: Lengthens/curls enough without looking fake, seperates, strong colour, good brush - little goes on my skin, minimal smudges/flakes, 100% waterproof & no irritation. Overall: In an everyday mascara I want to be able to forget I'm wearing it - this definitely did that. Secondly, while I want to remainfairly natural looking, I also want a touch of glamour - this does that. If you apply layers when it's drying it will go spidery & you need a good make-up remover, but once that's sorted I believe it's a top daily mascara. Definitely will re-purchase, unless anything better comes out!
