Moisturizers -La Mer - Oil Absorbing Lotion
rated 2 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 4:34:00 AM

I've bought several bottles and used it for a while purely because it didn't leave my skin greasy and absorbed fast. Boy do I regret spending err wasting that much money. Maybe I should've tried the original cream but thought that would be too rich for my combination skin. Another big gripe I have about this product is the packaging. For the amount I paid I should be able to COMPLETELY use up the product. You know, scrape every last bit from the bottle. But it's in one of those plastic pump bottle that's in one piece. Big waste IMHO. This product is a rip off for an average facial lotion.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
rated 5 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 4:23:00 AM

The Best hand cream ever. I've been hunting for an effective hand cream for years and I found it few years ago with this product. This cream definitely solved my dry hands problem. I wash my hands all day long so they get very dry and nothing worked till I used this cream. I was afraid it would leave my hands greasy which most products do but this absorbs completely into my skin. The scent isn't all that great but it's light so not a big concern. It's pretty expensive for a hand cream but hey if it works it's worth it. A little goes a long way so the tube should last quite a while. I love this product because it conquers dry skin without leaving greasy trails all over the stuff you touch!

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 100% Pure Shea Butter

Great product! A true shea butter cream unlike some of the other products out there. It's a bit pricey but lasts forever and ever. I've had my 4.9oz tin for few years now. They are perfect from your head to ends of your toes. I mostly use it for my feet after I use buffer them. Makes my feet soft for days on end. I've even used bit on my hair ends and I don't know whether that had any effect. The scent is very light. This is definitely a good all purpose cream to have around the house!

Hair -Kusco-Murphy - Intensive Treatment
rated 1 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 4:12:00 AM

I must be the only one who didn't like this product. My hair lately has been on the tad dry side so I've been looking for good conditioning treatment. I love KM Beach Hair so I purchased this item and it's a complete disappointment. It comes in a convenient plastic tube so it's easy to use in the shower. I don't know where they got the idea that this is intensive except for the scent. The scent is strong herbal scent that's pretty nice. It doesn't condition my hair like a true conditioning treatment should though. It's no better than my regular everyday conditioner so that's how I've been using it. Big waste of money for me.

Styling Products -Kusco-Murphy - Beach Hair
rated 5 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 4:08:00 AM

I LOVE the scent of this product! A true coconut scent. The gel is easy to apply and only small amount is needed and I have long hair. It's lightly greenish gel with lots of glitter. Very pretty but don't worry once you put it on the glitter isn't there. I don't know about the beach tousled look, maybe I don't have the "right" hair for it. But I have some curls and it works well better than mousse. My hair looks natural (no hard curls look like you have ton of hairspray on)without being frizzy. I can't resist inhaling once in a while to sniff the scent. It's wonderful!

Skincare - Face -Kiss My Face - Repair and Prevent
rated 4 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 3:58:00 AM

The full name of this product is Ester-C Repair & Prevent CO Q-10 Facial Complex SPF 15. Whew. Mouthful. :) It comes in a 1oz plastic pump bottle. The only thing I don't like about this bottle is that I'm gonna have to use a saw to cut if in half to scrap the last bit since you can't unscrew it. I hate wasting anything. ;) This product is great. I've used LOTS (shudder to think how many) of facial creams over the years and 99.9% of them were expensive high end products. I have heard many nice things about Kiss My Face (been on organic kick lately) and noticed that price was very cheap compared to what I usually buy. I didn't feel guilty about trying this product out! Boy, am I glad I did. Despite it's name and claims I really didn't have that much hope for it. All products claim and promise many wonderful things but only very few actually even come close to delivering. One of the good thing about this product is the added SPF, which means I don't have to wear separate sun screen. I hate piling things on my face so I never wear them and they usually give me the hives and leaves my skin greasy. After using this product for few days, I definitely noticed much more even tone and brightening effect on my skin. It's not at all irritating to my sensitive skin and it goes on light absorbing easily and fast. Once I had scrub one side of my face too vigorously and actually left scabs that looked like acne scars. After a week of using this lotion the scabs and scars completely disappeared. I'm not 100% sure whether it's the result of this product but I'm pretty convinced it is since I tend to retain scars for a long time. :( I'm gonna try the cream on one bug bite scar on my leg that I've had for at least two weeks and if it works. As wonderful as this product is, there is one not so small drawback. The scent is horrible. I don't know exactly how to describe it except when I first put it on it smelled like cloyingly sweet soy sauce. NOBODY likes the scent of soy sauce let alone want to smell like it. :( I was driving with my sister and she commented on a weird smell saying it smells like rotten food or something. I realized later it was the lotion. I definitely don't like it and I'm sensitive to scents but it works so great I'm putting up with it. :)

Conditioner -Fudge - OOMF Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 2:38:00 AM

Just like the shampoo, this is just a run of the mill average conditioner. It doesn't really seem to condition my hair since after my hair dries it's left kinda dry. Definitely not worth buying for the price.

Shampoo -Fudge - OOMF Shampoo

I bought this shampoo because several people posted on another site it smells like chocolate. I'm a chocoholic and love bakery smelling body products. The shampoo does have sweet scent but definitely not chocolate scent. It's rich in lather and does good job of cleaning your hair. But for the price it's not that great. You can buy same products for 1/3 price in the market. It's just an ok product and overpriced.

Bath Treatments -Fresh - Milk Line Bath Foam
rated 2 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 2:30:00 AM

Great scent and cute packaging. Totally suckered me into buying it but returned it after one use. Thank god I actually returned this one. It foamed very well and scent was amazing but left my skin very irritated and itchy. I was horrified at how my skin felt. I have tried several different Fresh shower/bath foams and they all have this effect on my skin. I seem to be the only one who has this reaction so you might want to try it. It's pretty expensive for shower gel but it's a good sized bottle. The glass bottle with cute cow label is cute but dangerous in shower.

Fragrances -Fresh - Lucia
rated 5 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 2:23:00 AM

Great scent. Very fresh and light but lasts all day. It's supposed to smell like Chocolate and Orange but you can't really smell the chocolate. Their bath foam with this same scent/name smells heavenly with much stronger chocolate scent (never smelled better chocolate scent). I was very pleasantly surprised with this product as I almost always seem to have bad luck with Fresh products. For once, price is actually reasonable from this brand! Cute glass bottle with vintage looking label. They don't make you buy separate spray pump like they do for their shower gel lines.

Gels/Soaps -Fresh - Jus Formula Bath & Shower Foam
rated 1 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 2:18:00 AM

I can't seem to resist buying or at least trying Fresh products even though I end up hating almost all of them. I'm a sucker for fragrance and packaging, which Fresh is incredibly great at so I keep being suckered. I have tried several different Fresh shower gels and for some reason they always make my skin itchy almost immediately after I get out of the shower. I might be allergic to one of their staple ingredients but it's a bit much. I never have this much problem with other products that I don't like. The scent is of course fabulous as with most of Fresh products. But I can't justify using something just for the scent alone. This product along with others irritated my skin too much and didn't seem to wash off completely. The glass bottle is definitely a hazard in the shower as well and you run the risk of pouring too much. Too expensive for mediocre stuff.

Scrubs -Fresh - Brown Sugar Body Polish
rated 1 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 2:09:00 AM

HORRIBLE STUFF. It's so expensive for something so mediocre. The sugar part is great because it exfoliates well without irritating the skin like sale scrubs. Fresh sugar scrub has too little sugar and waaaaaaaay too much oil. I don't know what kind of oil they use but they were way too heavy and I felt like I was ready to be deep fried. I had to stand under the shower head long time to rinse off all that grease and my shower ended up being dangerously slippery. I have no idea why it received such great reviews and why I bought it. The container is very filmsy plastic container and if you are not careful it'll easily break.

Cleansers -Fresh - Rice Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 2:02:00 AM

This product was great for my skin. It left my skin clean, soft, and radiant. The scent is very mild and pleasing. The powder texture is soft and great for sensitive skin. Despite its very fine powder, it exfoliates wonderfully. This product is definitely for people with sensitive skin who can't use regular exfoliators but still wants great skin. The packaging is very pretty in a round tin can with screw top lid. It's nice to look at but not very practical. The can has an opening like soda cans. The product *is* fine powder so you inevitably dump too much on your hand and you have to very carefully put some back in the container. This is very hard to do with water around as the powder will start to melt and/or congeal, then you are stuck using too much. You can't very well put wet powder back in the container. As with all Fresh product this is pretty expensive and you DO NOT want to waste it. This is the first Fresh product that I actually liked but because of it's price and packaging I wouldn't buy it again.

Conditioner -Frederic Fekkai - Apple Cider Clean Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 1:51:00 AM

I bought this product along with Apple Cidre Shampoo. The shampoo left my hair VERY dry so I put lots of conditioner and left it on my hair for at least 10 min. When I was rinsing it out my hair felt pretty soft without being weighed down. But after I dried my hair and tried to brush, I almost ripped my hair out. The conditioner doesn't condition at all. It's waste of money. At least the Apple Cidre Shampoo does its job (albeit too well) but the conditioner might as well be dumped down the drain.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
FaceBodyJunkie 11/16/2002 1:47:00 AM

Great natural fresh apple scent and not the usual fake perfumey kind. It's great for very oily hair but if you have normal or dry hair I definitely don't recommend it. It foamed well and definitely clarified my hair, leaving it squeaky clean. Unfortunately, it does its job too well and my hair because EXTREMELY dry. It should be great for oily hair and/or people who use lots of hair products like gel and spray.
