Other -Ben Nye - Final Seal
Evilyn1983 4/11/2013 7:16:00 PM
THIS IS THE BEST MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY EVER. LIKE EVER. I bought this off of makeupmania and the shipping time was super fast. I bought the smaller bottle to try out, and it was very inexpensive. It has a light minty scent, which I find kind of refreshing. It lingers for a little while, but it doesn't offend or bother me at all. Now, this stuff is not kidding when it comes to setting your makeup. I have VERY Oily skin and nothing ever really seems to keep my makeup from sliding around. I wore this on top of a full face of makeup (no primer though), went on a 3 mile power walk while pushing a stroller, and guess what? Even though I was sweaty, my makeup was still perfectly in place. PERFECT!!!!!! I almost gave this a lower rating, but in the end, I didn't because although it does nothing for keeping my oil at bay, it never claimed to be an oil absorber. If they could make that happen, this spray right here, would be the best invention EVER. I will never use another spray.

Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Bella Luxury Powder: Banana (formerly known as Visage Poudre Luxury Powder)
Evilyn1983 4/11/2013 7:06:00 PM
I purchased this from makeupmania. It was less than $8 WITH shipping for the 1.5oz size shaker. I use this as an all over foundation setting powder. I LOVE IT. On days I want full coverage but I don't want to wear a thick/heavy foudnation AND matching powder on top, I wear my light-med foundation with this all over. I could not believe how magical this stuff is. I'm med in color with warm undertones and I don't think this makes me look yellow at all. My ONLY gripe, is the packaging...the shaker opening is so small that the lid is not quite large enough to sift product into and comfortably swirl my blush around in. Even with a damp sponge, it's kinda of messy. I wish they would make it a little more user friendly, but in any case, it doesn't affect the product at all. I fixed that by emptying out an Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Powder container (with attached puff) and pouring the banana powder in there. VOILA! I've never had an issue using the UD packaging (in fact, I love it!), so that solved the packaging prob for me. All in all, I think it's worth the hype. It's inexpensive, has amazing coverage, and doesn't get thick or cakey. What more could you ask for?

Lipstick -MAC - Mocha
Evilyn1983 12/27/2012 12:17:00 PM
LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is my "GO TO" nude when I want a little more color, and not exactly "nude". Paired with Mac's "nice n spicy" lip liner, this is my fave "warm nude" combo! It feels comfortable (not drying) and applies like a dream.

Lotions/ Creams -Julep - Age Defying Hand Brightener
Evilyn1983 12/27/2012 12:02:00 PM
I received this cream in my January Mystery Box, along with 5 nail polishes, nail glitter, and several samples. I am not one for creams. I don't like scented lotions. BUT this cream, is wonderful! It has a slight "cucumber" scent I guess, and it feels like butter going on. It's a little on the thick side, and the consistency is a little like clear thick glue. It absorbs REALLY well, and it doesn't feel greasy afterwards. I do see myself using it all up, but after verifying the full price as $32, I can honestly say no, I would NOT pay that much $ for a hand cream. Face cream, yes, hand cream, no. My main reason for that is this: I am carrying this cream in my purse, I tend to "lose" things from my purse. My expensive face creams stay at home, so there's no risk of losing that. The hand cream though, I would not be surprised if I lose it before it's even half way done. So no, I would not purchase this item, simply because of the price point, NOT because it isn't a fine item. Honestly, I would feel comfortable paying no more than $, but that is me personally. My only other gripe with this product, and it's not even the product itself, is the packaging. Overall, it is average. A soft squeeze tube with a flip top lid. I do not like the color. It is white with a black lid, and again, after only being in my purse for less than a week, the tube looks over a month old. Any and all dirt/spots cling to the tube. I would have preferred black packaging, but that is my minor gripe.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Serum
Evilyn1983 12/21/2012 3:10:00 PM
I have been using this for a few years now. Works as an awesome detangler. I use it everyday after I shower, and when I do blow dry my hair, I find it speeds up the process. If I don't comb my hair (mid back length/layered), I just apply the serum with my fingers, put my hair up in a bun, and when I let it down after it's dried naturally, my hair feels silky smooth! I normally buy the full size one 1x a year when I get a haircut, so the price seems average to me. But I have notice CVS carries the smaller version of it for MORE than the cost of the full size at the salon! So it is crucial to check out prices before you buy. other then that, I love it!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner Gel Dipdown
Evilyn1983 12/21/2012 3:07:00 PM
I LOVE THIS. I use it purely for my eyebrows, which I draw on everyday. It is VERY opaque, rich and BROWN. I am not a fan of brown eyeliner, but when I do decide to soften up my cat-eye look, I go for this because the color is dark, without being black, if that makes any sense? In fact, this jar has lasted me about 4/5 months and after %100 daily usage, I still have just under 1/2 a jar left. I was so happy with it, I decided to try BLACKTRACK, but that was a big disappointment for me (see my review on that). I think the price is very much worth the product, and again, for some it could be a big splurge, but compared to the other beauty items I use, it is average priced for me. (I don't really use drugstore). My only qualm, would be the packaging. Not really a fan of the heavy jars. I would prefer a heavy plastic, but it's not that big a deal.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden
Evilyn1983 12/21/2012 3:02:00 PM
Aside from my Original UDPP, I am not sure which one I love more. Eden is creamier and lays down a base similar to MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot. I use it as a base for my eyebrows before drawing them on, and all over my eyelid. I've gone through 3 mini tubes, 1 regular size tube, and about to start my 2nd reg size tube. On me, it lasts ALL day. Even my brows don't get oily. The packaging is awesome, much prefer the squeeze tubes over the genie bottles, although, I do have 1 genie bottle I "refill" with my full size tube, so I can keep it in my makeup bag. I don't know WHY UD hasn't turned this primer into a face primer, minus the color. I would buy it in bulk! I can see how the price would seem like too much to some, but for me, this is average compared to the other beauty products I buy. Def a splurge, but I have yet to find a drugstore item that can outperform this.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - Lime Twist Stick SPF 15
Evilyn1983 12/21/2012 2:57:00 PM
I bought this the other day at Target, and OMG...LOVE! It literally lasts for HOURS. At first I thought the lime flavor sounded a little...weird, but once I applied it, it was wonderful! My lips have been SO dry this winter, and with one application in the morning it literally lasts until I get home from work after a 9 hour day. Seriously! I am a big fan of the original Carmex in the little round tub, so was curious to try this one. The cherry is next on my list. I use it as a cuticle treatment as well, and it works wonders. Love everything about it. My baby uses it as "lipstick" and she also loves it (lol).

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Eye Shadow Brush
Evilyn1983 12/11/2012 12:05:00 PM
I do not use this for makeup. I use it for manicures/pedicures. I find it does a wonderful job of cleaning up nail polish around the nail bed/cuticle area, as well as creating a beautiful "french tip" instead of using tape/band aids, etc. I have 2 (The travel size eye shadow brush, which appears to be a little more rounded). Works like a charm, and for about $5, you can't really go wrong.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
Evilyn1983 12/4/2012 4:27:00 PM
***12/27/12 EDIT*** After using this product for a few weeks now, I can add this to my review: HOLY HELL DOES THIS STUFF PEEL! yes, it works like a charm to dry polish, NO doubt about it. But after being 1/2 way done with the bottle, it is starting to get a tad thick, which I don't really mind, but I can see how it can be annoying to some. Now, my main reason for editing this post: This stuff makes my polish peel off in 1 clean peel. Seriously. At first, I noticed this after about 3 days of wear. I didn't really mind because I like to change my polish daily, if not every other day. But on Christmas Eve I polished my nails before bed, and the very next morning when I woke up (Christmas Day), the polish in my accent nail had COMPLETELY peeled off in 1 whole "sheet" in my sleep! If I can't even get it to stay on for at least 24 hours, then no, I will not be buying this again. I love how fast it dries, but the peeling is insane...the search continues... LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. After reading reviews for god knows how long, I finally gave in and decided to try it. WHERE HAS IT BEEN ALL MY LIFE?? Heaven knows how many hours I spent applying polish, making designs, adding my topcoat, and then *BAM* smearing it almost instantly!!! Maybe that's why I never really bothered with color on my nails, due to sheer frustration. After reading many MANY reviews on this product, I tried it and I love it! I used the Seche Vite Base Coat, applied my polish, and then added the Top Coat while still wet. Less then a minute alter, I dinged the cap against a nail...I looked at my nail, and HOLY CRAP...the nail was intact!! I picked up my toddler, and my nails were fine! I rubbed my nails across my sweater, and they were perfect!!!!! THIS is worth every penny. I have yet to reach half way through the bottle, but even if it gets thick like everyone says, I don't care. I'll either buy the thinning drops or a new bottle. IT'S THAT GOOD. I haven't experienced any polish "shrinking", flaking, or chipping like others have. I have though, experience lightning fast drying, glossiness, and overall satisfaction. The smell CAN be repugnant to some, but I am one of those who doesn't mind. The $ I think is about average with other nail products I use, so it earns an average 3 from me, and the bottle design is nothing special, so again another 3 stars. All in All, I will be using this item for a LONG time to come.

Crème -Urban Decay - Surreal Skin Cream to Powder Foundation
Evilyn1983 10/20/2012 2:07:00 AM
First of all, let me say I have tried drugstore, mid end, high end, & everything in between. THIS foundation is my holy grail. I LOVE it. To death. I have OILY skin & am on a Retin-A skin care regimen, so if my skin ever looks dry and flakey it's NOT because of the product. This is the only foundation that I feel matches me perfectly. Normally I wear it in Supernova with UD's mineral powder on top, & I am flawless. Even my male coworkers have complimented what nice skin I have. When I'm more tan, I wear Hallucination. Either color is perfect. Love x 100! The ONLY cons: the amount of product & price. NOT GOOD. One compact lasts me 1 month. NOT enough. I really think UD should either drop the price for the amount they currently give, or increase the amount of product for the current price. It's too expensive to purchase every month now, so I am actively seeking alternatives. Currently using their new Naked skin foundation in 6.0, & while its good, it's not Holy Grail status. I adore the compact, but the brush it comes with is very shed-prone. Other than that, I LOVE this product!!!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Sin
Evilyn1983 10/13/2012 3:27:00 AM
Did not like it. I purchased the travel size bottle. When applied, it gave my eyes a pretty shimmery look. Within a couple hours, it was creased horribly. I tied again with a UD shadow on top, & it still creased. Original & Eden pp's work beautifully on me, so I was disappointed that sin was the complete opposite. For the price ($9 for a mini I think), I think you're better off buying the other versions, and it might as well be the full size at that.

Hair Color -John Frieda - Precision Foam Color
Evilyn1983 10/13/2012 3:23:00 AM
I've only tried 1 other brand of foaming due, but I can't remember the brand. It smelled HORRIBLE, like Budweiser Beer. So I was hesitant to try another one, but boy am I glad I did. This product was AWESOME. I live how it doesn't require full on shaking, just tilting of the bottle, to activate the product. Squeezing the bottle instead of pumping was interesting. The mixture did foam, althoughy it does take. Few squeezes to really activate the foaming. But once it did, it did not bleed or run or get all over the place. It smelled pleasant, applied evenly, and best of all, I didn't even require a brush/comb to work the product in! I've been raving about this to friends and coworkers, and I will DEF be buying this again! Only thing, is the gloves tore within 5 mins of putting them on. I thought they were rather cheap.

Scrubs -Clinique - Exfoliating Scrub
Evilyn1983 10/11/2012 12:13:00 PM
MY HOLY GRAIL FACE SCRUB! I have been using this scrub for....8 years? I've made my ex boyfriend into a devoted user. I used to use this as a daily scrub, but then reserved it for a 1-2x a week scrub in the shower. It leaves my skin feeling CLEAN. I can see how others may think it's too abrasive, but I personally like it. In the shower, it just works so well with hot water and I feel like I've just had a facial. I hope this never gets discontinued.

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
Evilyn1983 10/11/2012 12:09:00 PM
LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I have been using it for over a year on a daily basis morning and night. I have only gone through 1 3/4 bottles. I find it does the job well with a little product, does not dry me out, and most importantly, helps keep my skin clean and clear! Albeit, I have a skin routine that involves Retin-A and Benzyl Peroxide, but this is seriously an essential part of my routine.
