Mascara -E.L.F. - Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara
Emspirations 4/17/2013 3:04:00 PM
This E.L.F. product is a staple in my make up bag. I pay only $1 USD for this product which is an excellent value for what you get. In fact I usually buy several at a time to last me since it is often sold out at Target. I primarily use this as a brow gel. I find no real difference between the brow and lash formula. I actually use the brow side to set my brows after I apply my brow powder and the lash end of the tube to groom my brows on the days where I don't color in my brows and go for a more natural look (or when I am in a rush). This way one side is always clear while the other side gets discolored from the brow powder. I do not know how this performs as a mascara but it does groom my brows and keeps them in place. It works as well as the Anastasia clear brow gel which is about $22 USD. Compared to the Anastasia clear brow gel (a product that I do really like) the E.L.F. takes a little longer to set (dry time is longer) and has a little less hold, but for the price I do not mind, considering I can get 22 of these for the price of 1 Anastasia.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast 24 HR Mascara
Emspirations 4/17/2013 2:51:00 PM
I bought the Cover Girl Lash Blast 24 hour in Blackest Black. I typically give cosmetics a fair trial period (few weeks-month) of use before a final verdict. I had to get rid of this after one use. Everyone's lashes are different and my lashes did not respond well compared to other mascaras. Here is the claim from the Cover Girl website: "Bold, intense volume meets the biggest brush EVER from COVERGIRL! Get a blast of lush, volumized lashes that last up to 24hours. For a bold look that will get you noticed around the clock!" As far as bold, the color is definitely very black. The brush for this mascara is on the larger side and has the rubber bristles that are on the original Lash Blast. Given that I have lashes on the shorter side, I find the large brush deposits mascara on my lids in addition to my lashes-unless applied carefully. This results in extra work to clean up product on the lid while trying not to disturb any eyeshadow already applied. With regard to the formula, as other reviews mention it does last all day with no problem. Also I do agree with other reviewers that this mascara can hold a curl. it's ability to probably hold such a strong curl is one of the reasons I dislike it so much. It made my lashes very stiff-like I had applied strong hold hairspray. This lash texture bothers me because I feel like my lashes could just break off. In addition, somehow this formula shrank my lashes and they were an even shorter version of my usual lashes and looked more like spikes than volumized. While I definitely agree this formula has the lasting power advertised, there are other mascaras that provide more volume with a formula more agreeable for my lashes.

Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Brow Gel
Emspirations 4/29/2012 10:51:00 AM
This brow gel does an excellent job of grooming the brows and keeping them in place all day long. I have used several brow gels and this is one of my favorites. The downside is it is over $20, which is not very budget friendly for some. NOTE: if you do not like feeling that you have hairspray or strong hold gel on your eyebrows then this is not the product for you. I happen to like my brows to have this type of hold. The packaging while cute, is not very effective for me because I cannot see how much product i left in the tube. Clear brow gel has a tendency to get discolored from the make up, etc. so I can see why the packaging is not clear. Because I love the formula, I would probably re-purchase, but hopefully the product lasts long enough so I will not have to purchase it for awhile. I find that the ELF brow gel/clear mascara duo works very effectively and is only $1- although it does take a longer time to dry than the Anastasia.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes
Emspirations 4/29/2012 10:42:00 AM
I have tried several make up remover towelettes (Olay, Ponds, etc.) Neutrogena is hands down my favorite make up remover towelettes. The texture of the cloths is soft yet strong enough to remove all my make up. There is no need to rinse, but I always rinse anyways. The formula of the remover is gentle enough for use around the eye area without causing burning in my eyes. I typically stock up when they go on sale. The one down side is that the sticker on the packaging that keeps the cloths moist and closed loses its stickyness over time, so I would not leave this laying around as you risk drying out the product. I keep mine in a closed container to avoid this issue.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection - Blue Had Me At Hello (737)
Emspirations 4/29/2012 10:35:00 AM
Wet n Wild was a brand I wore in high school because it was all I could afford. It was pretty awful back then. I have recently re-discovered this brand over a decade later and have to say that this is an incredible value for the quality product you receive. I typically wear Urban Decay, Lorac, Stila, Too Faced, and MAC eyeshadows. On a whim I purchased the Blue Had Me at Hello Palette. I really liked the colors and for less than $5, I had nothing to lose. The colors are well pigmented, easily blended. I always use a primer and did not experience any creasing. The color stayed on for hours and remained vibrant. People thought I was wearing Urban Decay and could not believe it was Wet N Wild. For the price, I was fine with the packaging, but as a general statement while the product is excellent the packaging is not. The cover easily cracks and can be sticky from the stickers used to seal it shut. I recommend handling the palette with TLC. I still love my high end shadows, but now have added Wet n Wild to my list of favorites.

Brows -Revlon - Brow Styling Gel
Emspirations 4/29/2012 10:19:00 AM
The brow gel I typically use was out of stock, so I bought the Revlon Brow Gel. One of the worst drug store purchases I have ever made. First of all, there was absolutely no hold with the product so it did not keep my brows in place. Secondly, if I applied multiple layers or if I touched my brows throughout the day, they would flake! It looked like I had eyebrow dandruff. The only reason why I did not give it a 1 is because it actually did a good job of grooming the brows initially- it just did not hold and flaked terribly. I do not recommend this product.
