Blush -Chanel - Reflex

This is the nicest blush I have ever used! Over foundation the texture is not better than my clinique blush but on bare skin or over just powder its soooo much better than anything I have ever used. I never used to wear blusher unless I was wearing foundation cos I could never get it to look smooth and natural on my crappy bare skin but this looks lovely on bare skin, possibly even better than over foundation as the colour looks truer. Its a gorgeous peach colour quite vibrant but also fool proof to apply as you have to build it up and so theres no risk of looking like a doll unless you try to. I looks like its going to be crazy shimmery but its not at all! Without foundation it is just glowy but not shimmery and over foundation it is slightly more metallic looking but none the less natural. I love the packaging and the faint rose scent. Only down sides are the really crap brush it comes with, i use my own fluffy jemma kidd brush which is great, and then of course the price which is by far the most I have ever spent on blush but I think its probably going to be worth it as I have never managed to finish a blush before and this will probably last forever.

This is really pretty in a sort of girly, happy, natural way. It is a pinky peachy nude colour on me with slight shimmer and a smooth glossy finish. I doesn't last that long cos its just like balm or gloss but it does look nice for a couple of hours and can easily be reapplied without a mirror cos its a very sheer colour. I adore the packaging and the lovely moisturizing texture, its a really good everyday lipstick.

Mascara -Stila - Major Lash Mascara
Emleepinky 3/22/2009 8:13:00 AM
I have bought this many times on and off over the years. I'm using it at the moment and my main reason for going back to it was actually that it is nice and small and so fits in my adorable new cath kidston makeup bag. I like it, its a safe bet for mascara cos it does all the separating and voulmising I need and it has a nice non-flaky texture. I do really like the little silver tube too. Only downside is that when its brand new its a bit runny and so difficult to apply but it does mature nicely after a while and never gets yucky and clumpy. After this is finished I wont be buying again though as I like to chop and change mascaras too much.

Crème -Bobbi Brown - Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation

i had been thinking i really like this but then i was reading the reviews filtered by acne-prone skin type and there do seem to be a few too many people who have found that this breaks them out. i think it might be breaking me out too but not in a dramatic way, my skin has only ever reacted dramatically once before (nars blush) and i dont usually notice that foundations ever affect my acne. i have been using this for over a month 2 or 3 times a week and i have found that my skin at the moment has lots of little spots and blackheads but fewer big spots than it has had in the past although this could be due to anything really including stress and change of medication. other than skin worries i would give this foundation a very high score, i love the packaging and how easy it is to apply! i use the sponge it comes with and find that i can do my whole face really evenly in only a minute or 2 whereas with liquid foundations it would take me 10 or 15 mins. i find it very blendable and it gives a very smooth satiny finish. i do have oily skin and the oil comes through quickly but doesn't ever look bad. i think its also a very good colour match, i have VERY pale yellow toned skin completely without any pink tones (except for spots) and therefore i generally find it very difficult to get foundations that dont look pink and muddy on my skin. i use this in sand and with the right powder (sheseido luminizing colour powder in golden beige) it is a really natural looking match. it also doesn't accentuate dry flakes too badly, i think all foundations do that a bit and this is one of the better ones.

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]

I have this in the shade 16 bare and it is the only clinique foundation i have ever managed to find that even comes close to matching my very pale olive skin tone. This isnt absolutely perfect colourwise as it might be a little too orange on me for winter but its been great this summer as it seems to adjust with my tan. Its pretty light coverage but with my georgia and blush over the top thats all i really want. I love the texture of this, really smooth and matte but not too powdery or heavy looking and it seems to photograph really well in both artificial and natural light. Basically once this is "worn in" it looks incredibly natural and gives enough coverage to hide my acne scars without looking like a mask or implausibly airbrushed. Only problem is that it isnt really buildable and if im having a bad skin day it probably wouldnt hide anything more than very minor spots or blotches. I would buy this again as i feel safe using it on my very acne-prone skin and as far as im concerned its pretty good value for money.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects Anti-Aging Anti-Blemish Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]

I have been using this for about 3 weeks and i'm still on the fence a bit with it. It is good in many ways however i still feel quite uneasy about using it. The benefits are that it is sufficiently moisturising without being horribly greasy, it goes well under makeup, sinks in nicely. Also another point that should be good is that it actually improves the look of my skin, it has a sort of white/pale pink pigment or something in it that casts a pale haze over my skin. This can look really nice cos it blurs my spots a bit but I'm pretty pale atm and if I got tanned it would look awful. This white haze is the thing that really bothers me with this product, as far as im concerned the pigmenty stuff is just a potentially pore clogging powder which I would really prefer not to use on my skin everyday. As yet i have noticed no change in my skin for better or worse from using this product although it has only been 3 weeks so I will update if this changes.

I have this in black and I dont really like it, its not black enough and it smudges like crazy especially if I use it alone without concealer round my eyes. I dont really regret buying it because it was so cheap and even though its not good it is at least usable until I get the chance to buy something better.

Loose Powders -Clinique - Blended Face Powder and Brush
Emleepinky 3/1/2008 7:36:00 PM
If it wasn't for the colour this would be a really nice powder. It has a nice texture, sets foundation well, doesn't make my skin look flaky and lasts pretty well too. I have this in the new invisible blend shade and it just isnt invisible. It looks slightly grey in the pot and goes on muddy looking on me, I only wanted this to set my foundation and I have a shiseido compact to take out with me for touch ups so I can still get away with using the clinique powder as long as it only gets applied once. The weird thing is that I used to have the compact powder in the invisible matte shade and that was great on me so I assumed this would be the same although sadly it isnt. I honestly dont know what skintone this would be good for because my skin is yellow toned and it doesnt work well on me, the powder is not at all pinky so I dont think it would be good on pink or neutral skin tones. Perhaps it would be ok on people who are very dark skinned? I love clinique skincare but their foundations and powders come in such horrible pink and muddy colours! I will continue to use this although I doubt I will finish the pot because its huge and will last forever and I'll probably want to try something better before it runs out, I definately wont be buying it again.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Precious Posy
Emleepinky 2/25/2008 8:27:00 PM
This is a nice blush but not as fantastic as many of the other reveiws led me to believe before I bought it! It is essentially a nice colour on, quite close to the natural colour I blush, maybe a little too pink, but its soooo easy to over apply this. When I go out in the evenings I like to take blush out with me because reapplying powder over my makeup can dull the blush so it stops showing. Unfortunately whenever I have taken this blush out with me I have ended up looking like a garden gnome or something by the end of the night after reapplying everytime I re-powder. Now this is partly my own fault because as I get drunker during the course of a night out I tend to reapply with a very heavy hand but because of this I need drunk-proof makeup and sadly this is not it. I think I would be happy to buy clinique blush again but next time I will go for the lighter peach shade as it is more natural looking and therefore easier to apply.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Georgia ] ] [DISCONTINUED]

I really, really love this, it lifts and brightens my skin over foundation which can often be a bit dull especially if its mattifying. I have very pale olive toned skin and this shows up subtly on me although it does not add much noticable colour, it just warms my complexion. I use it as a sort of bronzer brushed lightly all over my face and put loads on my forehead and the apples of my cheeks. I dont use it as a blush exactly but I wear it in combination with a stronger pink blush and it really improves the look of the blush. It does last a long time, I think I had mine for about a year before it ran out and although I dont wear it everyday when I do wear it I put loads on. I would like to buy it again except when my last pot ran out I got pout bronzer instead which is nowhere near as nice as this but I will try and wait till thats all gone before getting anymore of this. The reason why I havent given this 5 lippies is because its not oil free and although i've not noticed any extra pore clogging it still makes me feel apprehensive using it too often or for too long, the other reason is that although the box is really pretty it doesnt last as long as the powder and so by the time mine was finished the box was pretty mashed. I dont get why people have a problem with the brush though, I find it works well enough. Update 7/5/08: I have bought this again because I just cant find anything even half as good, this is the perfect colour for me and it seems that benefit have changed the ingredients so now its oil free!

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Oil-Free Even Finish Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
Emleepinky 2/17/2008 3:22:00 PM
I've only had samples of this and so it could be that with practice this would not be so difficult to use but on the few occasions I used it it was almost impossible. The texture is really weird it shows up dry patches worse than any foundation I have ever used and was sooooo streaky. It sets like acrylic paint or something before you get chance to blend it in properly so you get patches of no coverage and patches where it sort of clogs together in weird ways. Will definately never buy this although the colour sand was really good for me. Also I hate the way that the bobbi brown SAs always try to persuade me that I need foundation 2 shades darker than my skin actually is!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer
Emleepinky 2/6/2008 9:49:00 AM
This is my favourite summer moisturiser, I use the oily skin one and it has never clogged my pores or aggravated my skin. Its the perfect level of moisturisation that I need and I would continue using it in winter except I live pretty far north and dont want to use spf during winter in case of vit D deficiency etc. I love the slight herbal smell this has too. Not so keen on the jar though, you get little bits of dried moisturiser on the lid which are a bit gross. In response the the reviewer complaining about this product becoming dangerous and unstable: all sunscreens are unstable in the sense that they degrade over time and so you should replace products with spf every year. The chemicals themselves don't become dangerous once they've stopped working the actual danger is that people may use old products without realising that the spf has become inactive and get sunburnt.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Emleepinky 2/6/2008 9:24:00 AM
I have used this on and off for years now depending on what my acne is doing. I like it because its oil free and totally ungreasy so i dont have to worry about my pores getting even more clogged, it absorbs nicely, and doesnt irritate my skin. The main problem with it that the moisturising effect doesnt last very long and my skin gets dry again towards the middle of the day. It would probably be perfect with a more emolient moisturiser over the top to seal in the hydration that this product gives but I really can't be bothered with 2 moisturisers. Also it would be a fantastic summer moisturiser if it had spf in. Anyway despite its problems its a good product ang one of the few that doesnt clog my skin so I will continue to buy this when my skin is bad.

Highlighters -MAC - Sculpt and Shape in Bone/Beige
Emleepinky 2/4/2008 9:08:00 PM
Im confused by this and the other reviews. I dont really consider myself to be that pale and Im definately not fair because my skin is olivey but I really cannot imagine the darker shade of this product being any good for me. The highlighter of this is gorgeous, nicer than my high beam, and the contour shade is kind of like a very subtle blush on me. I havent worn this in daylight or seen how well it shows up in photos yet and so I will update if I change my mind about this but I think this is a really nice product. Also as far as I can tell this seems to be oil free, a big plus for me as I dont use any other products from MAC because none of them seem to be oil free.

Lip Treatments -Soap and Glory - Sexy Motherpucker Lip Gloss
Emleepinky 2/4/2008 8:57:00 PM
I have this in nude and really like the colour, I use it over nude lip liner as well and it looks lovely. Its a decent plumper although not as effective as some other plumpers i've tried (philosophy's big mouth), I like that it doent really change the colour of my lips though. When I got this it was on offer at boots for £5 and at that price I would definately buy it again as its significantly less than half the price of other plumpers I've used but there are a couple of things I dont like about it. The smell is not horrible but I'm not keen on the chocolate orange scent and I dont really like the sensation of fizzing that you get with this product. For some reason I dont mind normal stinging that you get from other plumpers but I find the weird fizzing sensation you get with this product uncomfortable and much more distracting but maybe I'll get used to it.
