Skincare - Face -Rodan and Fields - Unblemish
EmilySher 4/27/2006 2:10:00 PM
This is a 3 part set that includes a cleanser, toner, and treatment lotion. This is similar to proactiv except that the cleanser contains sulfur rather than BP, the toner is a slightly different formulation, and the lotion has BP but is dryer. This set is also more expensive at $85 (US). That being said, I like it. I was not a huge fan of proactiv, but do not think it is terrible either. This seems to help with my breakouts, but has not erradicated them or anything. I do find this to be drying though, even on my oily skin.

Bronzers -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Bronzer #1
EmilySher 10/21/2005 4:01:00 PM
This bronzer is very believable, great color, goes on sheer and natural (almost a bit too sheer). The shine is not visible at all, which I love. The only problem is that it does not beat out Nars Laguna for me. Also, the compact is a little small as well, but overall a good bronzer.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation
EmilySher 10/21/2005 3:53:00 PM
We just got GA in my area, so I was very exited to try this! Usually, foundation leaves me dissapointed, but not this. It looks very natural and does not leave me as oily as I thought at all (i use dermadoctor tease zone which is fantastic). Anyway, I had a little trouble with the shades- first I tried 6, which was a bit dark, 5.5 was a way yellow, but 5 is more neutral like the 6 shade. I went back the other day to purchase the 5 and told the SA that I was having some streaking (I used MAC's foundation brush) so she recommended that I use the natural brush they sell and whoa- totally amazing! This foundation is my all time favorite now. For reference, I am light beige to medium, stila 40 watts, Chanel shell or beige. Oh and I also got the FS #2 which beautiful with it!

Skincare - Face -DERMAdoctor - Tease Zone

This product has other reviews under skincare for men, but I decided to write it under skincare face. Anyway- this is exceptional. It is absoltely the ONLY mattifier that has worked for me ever. The nice thing about this is that it really feels like you have nothing on your skin and somehow works so well. No drying, flakes, wierd film, just oil free skin! I was starting to think that oil control products did not work and along came this. Wonderful!

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
EmilySher 10/12/2005 7:38:00 PM
I have been using this for over a year now, I recently ran out and purchased Fresh's MU removing cleanser. I have broken out horribly, realizing how great DHC is! It is the only cleanser that gets off all the makeup and really gets the skin super clean. I do follow this with a cleanser after, I use Kinara right now which is an oil sucker anyway. I have not used the oil on it's own, so I can't comment on that- but I am addicted!

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Les 4 Ombres - 74 Nymphea Quad
EmilySher 8/21/2005 9:37:00 PM
This is OK. I have to say I am not overly impressed. The colors are very nice, but I was expecting a little more as far as texture. I think Dior's shadows beat these hands down.

Self Tanners -Clarins - Liquid Bronze
EmilySher 8/21/2005 9:27:00 PM
Finally! I love using self tanners on my face, but they always break me out, even gels. Problem solved. This dries matte, a godsend for oily skin. As with all Clarins ST's, this is a subtle bronzing effect, but it does give a nice glow and it is enough for me. I use this pretty much every day after PC 2% solution, then I use skinceuticals daily moisture (also great for oily skin) and I am set for MU. Thanks Clarins!

Powder -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Base
EmilySher 5/3/2005 2:40:00 PM
My foundation search has ended. This stuff is amazing! I have been using this for about 2 weeks and will never go back to liquids. I had tried Bare Minerals at Sephora and did not care for it at all, it was thick and so fake looking, but JI is very different. It looks just like real skin and covers beautifully. Past acne marks, pores, whatever-Gone, just flawless even skin. I use the handi brush and apply very lightly, I actually follow with a touch of loose powder after (I am oily) and my skin looks great all day! The color range is fantastic, I use the warm sienna, but found about 3 other matches I can use as well. 2 big thumbs up for this one.

Shampoo -Redken - Clear Moisture Shampoo
EmilySher 3/25/2005 11:55:00 AM
This shampoo makes my hair feel clean, hydrated, and soft, it is not too moisturizing which my fine hair loves. It does not weigh my hair down, or cause fly aways. I use this every other wash, and it helps to give my hair a break from my usual volumizing shampoo (BB thickening). The conditioner is very light, almost too light, but the shampoo makes up for it. I have become very impressed with Redken products lately, and this is no exception.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Thickening Spray
EmilySher 3/25/2005 11:50:00 AM
This is not the standard volumizing product I have normally used, in fact, it does not give me much volume, instead it makes my hair more substantial- yes, thicker! What I have realized by using this is that normal volumizers make my hair great after blowdrying and flat 2 hours later. This stuff lasts all day and makes my hair shiny, manageable, and soft. I layer this stuff with the BB styling creme, and the results are great. If I am in the mood for some all out volume "big hair" I will use my redken guts.

Self Tanners -Christian Dior - Dior Bronze Body Self Tanner
EmilySher 3/14/2005 10:12:00 PM
Self Tanner Perfection! I have been doing it for years, and the days of orange, streaks, nasty build up are GONE! This stuff gives the most realistic color I have ever had, fades evenly, and lasts for days. Dries pretty quick, and has never ruined my clothes. Buy this!

Foundations -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Clean Tint
EmilySher 3/14/2005 10:08:00 PM
Wow, this is really garbage. I was so exited to find a drugstore foundation that might work. First off, it is too expensive for neutrogena. Secondly, it looks terrible on- gross and splotchy, and it smells so nasty I cannot even stand it. I was also disappointed that it had no spf in it. I also purchased the undereye concealer which is even worse quality.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
EmilySher 2/22/2005 7:25:00 PM
I looove this mascara. It is hands down my favorite MU item. I have short skimpy lashes, and this stuff gives me long, thick, defined lashes all day. I have not had a problem with flaking, or smearing. This is the only mascara that holds my curl. I have it in the black and the chestnut, and I find that the chestnut gives even more of an effect! Would not be with out this stuff.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Pure Light [DISCONTINUED]
EmilySher 2/20/2005 3:02:00 PM
This foundation is sheer coverage, you will need concealer for dark areas, but it works nicely to even things out. It is so light and fresh at first, it looks beautiful, then I get a bit oily, and then at the end of the day, it's gone! I can't stand that, it is exactly what chanel's universelle does. Too bad because both of these are absolutely perfect at first! I have tried a primer and it just disappears. The packaging however is very nice, even though the bottle is dated looking, it's soo nice to have a pump! I have this in 200, may be a little light, but it is a gorgeous light beige color for winter! good foundation, but only for a few hours!

Treatments -Skinceuticals - C+AHA serum
EmilySher 2/8/2005 2:58:00 PM
I have been a huge skinceuticals kick lately, and this is my favorite. Initially it is sticky and hard to spread, but the results are worth it. This has had a dramatic result in the tone and texture of my skin. I have some past acne marks (red spots) and they are fading while my complexion has become so smooth, and less oily. I am using this in the morning, followed by the B5 gel, and the phtyo corrective gel at night. This product is a bit overpriced at $115, but I will repurchase for sure, love it.
