Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
EmilyM01 11/22/2011 3:16:00 PM
I love this mascara!!!! I was in Walgreen's one day & I always look by the cosmetic register where they normally have the Jordana & Sinful Color nail polishes... saw this mascara and the price on it really was the reason why I picked it up.. $2.99..?! Can't beat it and if it didn't work so well, I wasn't worried about it since I wouldn't have been out of much money. I used it the next morning and WOW!!!! This blew my socks off! Black, opaque color, nice defintion, the volume is awesome and length is great too! Holds a curl nicely and I love the brush! Not too big at all.. Perfect for those small lashes and lower as well, but big enough to work with.. probably the best thing about this other than it's awesome performance is the lasting power and wear.. I absolutely LOVE L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black and always go back to it, but it leaves a racoon effect after so many hours of wear.. it may be because of it's softer formula, this mascara does dry to certain "crunch or hard" feel, but doesn't bother me.. it's not overbearing.. If you see this, try it and see how it does for you!! Anyway.. $3 for a mascara? You can't beat it!

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Project Runway - 785 Sultry Raven's Pout
EmilyM01 9/30/2011 11:17:00 AM
EXCATLY what the person below me said.... I have Fairest Nude, and a ton of other nude shades but I love to try new ones, saw the pretty display at Walgreen's, got sucked in and of course got this lipstick. Got in the car, swatched it and immediately said to myself "This is Fairest Nude!". Very dissapointing, and to boot, I paid $8.99, when I bought FN for $5.00, Luckily I'm running very low on FN so I will not have to purchase another for a while, but yes. So if you have one, you will not have to buy the other, especially this one since you will have to be spending a few more dollars for the exact same thing!! L'oreal could have came up with a better "nude" color. Other than that, still a very pretty shade..

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous in Carbon Black
EmilyM01 7/29/2011 11:33:00 AM
I have used this mascara ever since I could start using mascara.. which has been about 8 years. Thanks to my wonderful momma I have my HG mascara and will ALWAYS come back to it! I love the packaging, the gold and black makes it look more expensive than it really is and the price it unbeatable, I usually get mine at Target or Walmart and both stores range from $5-$6, which is a very affordable price for this particular one! The color is beyond black, I have dark features (dark brown hair; brown eyes, eyebrows) and the color suits me well. On a normal day, I will apply 2 coats when I'm at work, but for the weekend, I love the extra oomph and will apply up to 4 coats! The only thing I hate about this mascara is the first few times you use it, the formula is a little wet and difficult to build upon.. but, if you leave the wand open all day with just the handle sticking out of the tube, it will dry some and next time you use it, it will be easier to apply. I agree with others on the smell, none whatsoever, and I experience no fllaking, I do however have some smudging at the end of the day, but that's because I apply it also to my bottom lashes and when I look down.. my lashes will touch the area under my eyes! But other than that, I will always use this mascara, and I can say that if your not careful, you can easily get the clumpy look, which I can understand why people stay away from it but if you like that look, then you will love this mascara like I do!!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Idol Eyes - Creme Shadow Pencil - Pixie
EmilyM01 7/18/2011 4:00:00 PM
I have been using this liitle pencil like there is no tomorrow!! I have used it everyday for the past month and have only needed to sharpen it once!! I need to get ready really quick in the morning and I love the glowy and radiant look, so I always put this on my browbones and in the inner corners and it makes me look so awake! I got this at Walgreen's for like $1.99, what a steal! I feel like this pencil is worth so much more.. the texture is not sticky, the color is so beautiful.. a champangne color with SHEEN, no glitter, and applies so smooth. If you buy this, you will not regret it!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
EmilyM01 5/13/2011 12:03:00 PM
I completely agree with the reviewer beneath saying how this product is so great. I also purchased this because I follow TiffanyD's videos and after her saying how great it was for her oily skin, I had to try this. I am NC25 in MAC and shade 40 is absolutely perfect for my skin. The formula is so light and natural, and very good coverage. I love traveling with this product also because of the packaging, it's not heavy and it's not a glass bottle so you don't have to worry about it breaking at all. This foundation is $34 and is worth every penny. But I only use this for special occasions since I will around alot of people, and touching up is really annoying, the finish stays fantastic for a long period of time. I will always repurchse this...

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
EmilyM01 5/11/2011 10:26:00 AM
Count me in with the others saying that this product is awesome.. My skin is pretty oily especially after 6 hours of not touching up, this stuff works wonders. I don't have to touch up for like 10 hours and that's pretty much how long I wear my makeup for anyway so it's a big plus. I like to set my liquid foundation with MAC's Studio Careblend powder just to match my skintone better, but I LOVE to put this as a finishing powder to further set and lock in my foundation. My face looks so flawless and poreless. I have MAC's Prep & Prime as well.. I think this is better than that one IMO. It is sooo finely milled that it feels softer than silk. And it truly is translucent, no ashy white cast leftover where you put the powder.. For $6, you can't beat it. The puff it comes with it pretty nice too, good to just blot over a large part of your face like you cheek if you're in a hurry! ;)

Loose Powders -Sonia Kashuk - Brightening Powder
EmilyM01 4/27/2011 3:52:00 PM
I originally wanted to buy Benefit's Powderflauge to set my undereye concealer, but when I looked at the price ($28.00) I was a little hesitant. So I was at Target one day and saw this, thought I'd try it and it does have a brightening effect. Very small shimmeries, but hardly even noticable when you put it on, I use a soft fluffy brush instead of the puff. I will continue to buy this over the years. I have to say though, the packaging is annoying sometimes, kind of big for travel, and when you initally open it, DO NOT take the sticker all the way off! If you do, all the powder spills everywhere, even if closed. I had to cut a piece of tape and cover half of the holes so that so much wouldn't come out anymore.. but overall, great product!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Clear
EmilyM01 3/31/2011 12:36:00 PM
I use this as a brow gel and it's the first one I have ever purchased and for that reason I can't compare with another to say how well it is, but I really love this to set my brows after I fill them in. I don't have unruly eyebrows to begin with, they are actually a little thin and I just use a little of this and makes my brows look very neat and polished, very put together to complete a look. I will repurchase this when I run out! A very good price too! I think I got this on sale at Wal-Mart for $4, I also love this brush, just the perfect size to control where you want to put the gel.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Studio Careblend
EmilyM01 3/31/2011 10:33:00 AM
I fell in love with this product when I wore it for the first time over my Revlon Colorstay, and my husband said my face looked like a doll!! And I asked him.. "Is that a GOOD thing" and he said "yeah, your face looks smooth and nice".. for him to actually notice a difference is really saying something! He NEVER notices when I use different face products! I would normally use my MSF natural in Medium Plus and I have to agree with the others here on it being powdery. This one is very unique, soft, almost creamy and no fallout with you swirl your brush to pick up product. Also gives a d ecent amount of coverage. I also got this powder in the same color as the MSF, Medium Plus. I have strong yellow undertones and I always noticed the MSF in the color I had to be a little on the pink side but I didn't pay any mind to it, when it comes to the Careblend you don't have to worry about the pink in it, it has good yellow undertones. Since I have bought this baby 3 weeks ago I haven't even touched my MSF. This is a great powder from MAC and worth the money, and is more affordable than the MSFs.

Mascara -Maybelline - The Falsies in Black Drama
EmilyM01 3/24/2011 3:03:00 PM
So I really liked the original Falsies, big lashes are always great, but I kept seeing this in stores and figured what the heck.. I love this one more than the original!!! I LOVE the opaque black color of this mascara, awsome length and volume, this didn't flake on me but the original did just a little, maybe like 3 or 4 flakes throughout the whole day, but I have found my HG mascara!! In 1 coat you get pretty dramatic lashes, but when you apply 2 or 3 coats of this, your lashes will be HUGE! So if your into natural looking lashes and don't like the look of "Falsies" stay away from this mascara! ;)

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic eye liner pencil -black
EmilyM01 2/9/2011 12:26:00 PM
When I first saw this product, I immediately thought of the Urban Decay 24/7 liners. I had Zero and to be completely honest.. I thought it was a little too hyped up. It was good and all but I thought.. for $17, I thought it would be better. So I bought this, used it the next day, and boy did I fall in love! This has to be the richest black pencil eyeliner ever! And it is soooo creamy, more than the UD's Zero. I usually never put liner on my waterline because it fades within 30 minutes, but I tried this and didn't have to touch up for hours! The best part about it is I do not have to tug at my eye at all to create a beautiful line or wing! And this liner gives you enough time to work with to smudge or create a base for eyeshadow before it locks the color in place.. I also have the brown and it is so true to color, so rich and deep! And for the price, I think I got them at Walgreen's for about $5 and some change, what a great price!!

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush in Candid Coral
EmilyM01 1/10/2011 12:50:00 PM
So I bought this about a year ago and had been sitting in my makeup stash for a while.. I guess because of all the other blushes, it got pushed back! (That happens sometimes when you have alot of make-up! lol) So I did a swap where I got MAC's Fun & Games from the Hello Kitty Collection in 2009. Well, this blush from MAC is gorgeous, only problem is that because it's a BPB, it's sheer. I started looking through my stash one day and said to myself, "Wow, Candid Coral looks like the Fun & Games"! So swatched them side by side and they are! I would say those two are closer for a dupe than NARS Deep Throat. I have Deep Throat and to me it is more pinkier that peach. But maybe that's just on my skintone. (NC25, olive, yellow undertones.) Candid Coral is a perfect peachy blush for everyday use and gives a beautiful flush, it can be a little powdery but for the price, I can't complain about that!

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in Fairest Nude
EmilyM01 11/19/2010 12:50:00 PM
So, I was introduced to this lipstick by Leina from youtube, (Makeupbyleinabaaaby) because I am always looking for that perfect nude lipstick, I thought I should try it. It was only 5 bucks at Wal-mart so I scooped it up. Looking at the color, a pinky, light mauvey nude, beautiful color... I would not have thought this would be a nude I was looking for since I already have VERY pigmented lips and I mean mauvey, purpleish color. (Not cute BTW) So anyway, I put it on and what do you know the color was more on the plummy side, did not like this. So I grabbed one of those nude lipsticks that make you look "dead", layered this on top and the color turned into this light pinky, perfect nude for my skintone (NC 25-30). This color gives a little life to an everyday look and is definately perfect toned down lip color for a dramatic look. I am so glad I have this lipstick, I'm almost out!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
EmilyM01 10/4/2010 5:24:00 PM
I had high hopes for this mascara, I had seen the ads in my Wal-mart for this and couldn't wait until it was being sold already, picked it up tried it out, and I'd say I was a bit dissapointed. I've been using L'oreal's Voluminous for about 7 years now and I figured, "million lashes" by Voluminous has to be great!.. But nope, I would say it's a natural lash look mascara. It might just be me though because I do love the dramatic lash look. It did add some volume, but on my lashes it adds more length than volume, which I didn't want, but it was an ok everyday mascara, not too dramatic, but regardless of daytime or nighttime, I want dramatic lashes. Packaging is a little on the cheap side. The gold casing was just ugh not cute IMO, too bulky. Anyway, the pigmentation I guess was pretty black but definatley not as black as Voluminous. And the wand is one of those rubberized ones.. Idk if it's just me, but I never have luck with mascaras that have the rubberized brush. (i.e. Lash Blast, Lash blast Fusion) Anyway, I'm returning this, and sticking to my first love..the original Voluminous.

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Be Delicious
EmilyM01 9/29/2010 12:09:00 PM
I absolutely love this perfume, it's my all time fave.. I ran out about 2 or 3 months ago and I'm waiting for Christmas to get it again so these months are dragging because this perfume the best IMO. It's one of the only perfumes that last ALL day on me with only 2 or 3 squirts which is really good so you don't have to use so much up. I love the packaging although it is a little hard to travel with like a previous reviewer stated, I was always nervous to put it in my purse because the spray button is right on top and is pretty big. The smell to me is like a very clean, fresh smell with a small scent of apple to me, but not like apple juice or anything, more of a sexy smell.. idk how to really describe it but this is my favorite and I will probably always buy it!!!!
