I LOVE this as a contour shade! It looks so much more natural than a bronzer like Hoola. It's great for everyday and works well with all my blushes and highlighters.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Matte Foundation spf 15

I don't know what it is with me and BE... we used to be so close, inseperable even. I used nothing but BE for about 5 years, then sudddenly one day it lost its "luster." So I ventured back into the land of liquid foundations and other mineral makeups and spent a small fortune trying to find the next great love of my life. When I saw the Matte formulation while wandering around in Ulta, I knew I had to have it. I thought this would be the product to bring me back home to BE. The salesgirl at the BE counter put a little on me (though her technique was way off compared to my own) and I figured it was not covering like it should b/c of her light hand with the brush. So I bought it and took it home. At first everything was fine- it seemed to streak a bit here in the hellish Alabama humidity, but spraypaint couldn't even stick in this weather, so I overlooked it. After about a week, it started looking a little chalky and uneven on me. So I stopped using it for a few days and tried again with no better results. Sigh. It sat in my foundation drawer unused for a while untill the weather here really started heating up and the humidity here made the air so thick the weather man refered to the conditions outside as "air you wear" since it was so thick with humidity you felt like you were swimming in it. I decided to give it a try for setting my liquid foundation, which was starting to lose its will to survive after a few mins outside. EUREEKA! Its great to set my foundation, it offers a smooth matte finish and really helps stop the rest of my MU from slippping. To make a long story short, I could not wear this alone and achieve the coverage and staying power I desire, but I found it works great over my liquid foundation to set it. I very seriously doubt I will repurchase though- 28 bucks is pretty steep for something that can not stand on its own.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Bent Eyeliner Brush
rated 4 of 5
Eishee 7/21/2010 1:35:00 AM

This is the best bent liner brush I have found so far, and I have tried several. It works great with MAC Fluidline or Bobbi Brown gel liner. I took 1 star off because mine has a bristle or 2 that tend to stick out from the rest, though I store and clean it carefully. But for the price and performance, this is a great brush.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Coralista
rated 5 of 5

I absolutely love this! I would not consider it a blush though. It is the perfect sheer coral pink highlighter. I like to use it as a final touch to my makeup, over my blush. I need a good flush, so I always use MUFE HD powder over my blush then do a couple of swipes over each cheekbone up to the temple for just the right amount of glow without looking garish. I have tried other Benefit boxed highlighters, and so far this one is the only that is a keeper. Seems pretty expensive when you hold that little box, but it lasts FOREVER.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP Kohl Eyeliner- Black
rated 4 of 5

Ok, I am in love with this! I have always wanted to try Gurelain, but could not begin to fathom paying 30+ bucks for a tiny vial of eyeliner that i may or may not like. So when I saw these, I went to 3 different stores trying to find them! I finally found them at Walmart and got all of them except the navy b/c it was sold out. These actually stay on the waterline! YAY! I had no issues with application of the eastern method- I would not try it any other way due to fallout. You still get some, but not too bad. I have found that if I apply mascara first, it helps catch any fallout, especially on lower lashes. It has pretty good staying power too- I only reapply 1x between 5:30 am and 5pm. One word of advice- invest in some cosmetic cotton swabs- the ones with one pointed end and one flat end (at Sally's, wallgreens) to get any buildup out of the inner corner, as this will cause eye goo to turn black and migrate to the inner corners. Over all, a great find, though expensive for a drugstore brand, it is 1/3 of the price of Guerlain. If you look at it like that, it is a hell of a deal!

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner - Skinny Jeans
rated 4 of 5
Eishee 2/4/2009 5:14:00 PM

This is the first CC I have tried, and it made a great first impression. It is a gorgeous pewter color, which is charcoal with a touch of golden brown. It a really unique shade imo. It goes on smoothly and blends well when applied with a brush, though I find the color a little too sheer so I pat another layer on with my fingertip for added depth. I have had no problems with creasing, but always have used it with UDPP. Overall, it is a great shade and formula. I am sold on these, so I am really eager to try some of the other shades. I took off 1 lippie for the sheerness, though it is buildable. I like more depth, so that extra layering takes time that I am always short on!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Chronic - Matte
rated 5 of 5
Eishee 1/27/2009 2:06:00 PM

I love this color- UD has the best matte shadows out there as far as pigmentation and blendability. Chronic is a true grass green that can be layered up to an intensely vibrant. As with all matte shadows, they are so finely milled that they can come off dusty if not layered correctly- a little goes a long way, so I like to build it up with thin layers, then add a little UD Deluxe Grafitti to smooth it out. The shimmer in Grafitti is almost undectable over the Chronic, but it helps in evening and blending. Wonderful color!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Matte Eyeshadow in Revolver
rated 3 of 5
Eishee 1/27/2009 1:58:00 PM

I had lusted after this for a long time before it finally became mine, and i was so disappointed! I love the color- I love all grays and the matte stone shade was beautiful- in the pan at least, not on me. I could not get anything out of this, no matter how much i layered. It just started looking dusty. I tried and tried, but I could not make it work for me, no matter how badly I wanted it to. I still gave it 3 lippies because it is a beautiful and unique shade and I wish it worked on me. :( I have no problem with other UD mattes, but this one (the one I wanted most) was a bummer.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Florabundance lipglass
rated 4 of 5
Eishee 1/27/2009 12:58:00 PM

As alot of reviewers have stated, you can get a milk mouth if you use too much of this. It is a very opaque creamy peachy pink that looks salmon in the tube. It is sticky, but if you only use a little, that is reduced drastically. I like it over Jubilee lipstick when i want a mod look. I took off one lippie for the stickiness, but all lipglasses are, so it's nothing new.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Eye Shadow in Purple Haze
rated 5 of 5
Eishee 1/27/2009 12:51:00 PM

I have both of the UD Purple Haze shadows- The more vibrant Matte and the shimmery plum version. I love them both! The matte is a very intense, vibrant purple, which in my experience is hard to come by. I don't know why it has been so hard for me to find a purple that pops, but now i found the one! As with all matte shadows, they can be a pain to blend, but that is usually due to the technique or the applicatior. Make sure you apply primer evenly and blend it well before applying any matte shadow. If streaking does happen, try using UD deluxe shadow in Fishnet to lightly even it out. It is a shimmer, but it is so sheer that you will barely notice it if you really want the matte effect. Plus, it has a slightly pinker tone that will brighten the Purple Haze even more. I give the Matte version 5 stars. As for the shimmery version, it is not nearly as vibrant as the Matte one, but it is a really nice color to use for a sheer wash of violet. Like most of UD shadows, it blends really well and has lots of pigmentation. This color makes for a great sheer smoky eye when combined with the 1999 24/7 pencil. I also like to use it to even out and aid in blending another Matte UD shadow- Cult, which is a duskier purple. Love them both!

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen- Modesty
rated 5 of 5
Eishee 1/26/2009 3:23:00 PM

When I got this, I was put off by the slight mauve of Modesty. The cremesheen formula is fairly opaque, with no shimmer. I was all set to send it back, but then decided to give it another shot. I tried it on with a pink and purple eye, and wow! It is natural enough to be complimentary to a strong, bright eye, and for those who wear bright, bold shadow, you know how hard it is to find a lipcolor that doesn't fight for the spotlight, but has enough omph to compliment the look and not wash you out. I love this with any plum, pink or purple eye! I am so glad that i did not send it back!

Concealers -Amazing Cosmetics - Amazing Concealer
rated 1 of 5
Eishee 1/22/2009 12:13:00 PM

I seriously have no clue how this concealer got a best of Sephora rating, unless they applied it then voted immediately, no takebacks. It looks great for the first 2 minutes- then it mysteriously disappears. I have no idea where it goes, but they need to market it for its magical disappearing act, not as a concealer. Maybe Criss Angel could start endorsing it, as it is an optical illusion- one second it's there, and they next it has vanished! Thank goodness I bought the smaller tube, though it was still 28 dollars! WTF? Why does this stuff cost so much? Anyway, it is going back to Ulta today.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Jubilee
rated 5 of 5
Eishee 1/21/2009 5:54:00 PM

This is the review I wrote yesterday on this lipstick- I got this yesterday, and the jury is still out on it. I think it is a bit too warm for me, a little too much peach. I don't think it is meant for me to have a nude lip, sadly. My lips are way too pigmented, and it's hard to cover, even with this. I do like the look when I add Florabundance lipglass over it though. I am thinking it is just the lippie i like though, not the lipstick. I will update if I change my mind, but I think I am gonna end up returning. Well, UPDATE! The more I wear it, the more I like it. It seems to go with everything- even when i am wearing red. Today I have a brown smoky eye, and this lipstick looks great with it. It still is hard to cover my pigmentation, especially around my lipline, where my lips are a little darker, but it still looks good. It lasts a long time, but when it does fade it fades evenly and is hardly noticable. I think this just may be my MLBB shade after all!

I got a GWP size of this as an extra in a swap, and i have to say I think it is an awesome moisturizer. It absorbs quickly and fully hydrates without leaving any residue. I just may have to go out and buy some!

Liquid -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Eishee 1/20/2009 4:52:00 PM

I read in Allure that this foundation is a great formula with alot of the same ingredients that department store foundations have at a sweet price so I decided to give it a try. I am always looking for a less costly foundation to use for everyday, since my HG is Classified Cosmetics ERA Spray in Y5, which is not easily attainable and pretty expensive. I really do like this foundation- it offers light to medium coverage and imparts a dewy finish that lasts. My only gripes are that it does settle into pores as the day progresses and transfers fairly easily. Other than that, it is a great everyday foundation at for a steal.
