Oh baby! You will never find a more beautiful pairing of greens. Sooooo pretty. The dark shimmer brown, silvered taupe and shimmery cream are great too but it's all about those greens. Of course it's ridiculously expensive but I worked a Dior gala at the Canadian Department store I work for and I got this for free as a 'Thank you" Well let me just say, Thank you Dior!! The formula is like silk shimmer, it blends, its pigmented and I find it quite lasting. But the greens, the glorious greens! I didn't know I wanted them - but I can never again live with out them. The picture on the Sephora website does not do this exceptional palette justice. I'd love to describe the greens for you, but saying moss or seafoam or lime - none of it comes close. It's just fabulous. If you are looking for a hot new shimmery kinda sexy green, this is a great buy and is very Tropical and Light.
Eye Shadow -Victoria's Secret - Smitten Mosaic Eyeshadow
Echo7 5/7/2008 10:18:00 PM
I'm soooo Smitten w/ Smitten. Blown away! In fact I think VS may have changed its formulation cause I had Sultry from the look of show set and it's hideous - chalky - looks like a mud layered eye lid - it did not blend well and was not true to pigment. Smitten is so much better! The pigments are true, it's blendable and it totally gives you that sexy VS girl eye. There's a sexy shimmer pale pink, a white shimmer great for brow, a beautiful golden brown that works so well on the lid and a shimmering black for the outside corner of your eye and as a liner. I had low expectations after Sultry but this has renewed my love. I paired it w/ Smashbox Tint on my cheeks, w/ Pop Melon Glow on the apples of my cheeks and Smashbox Pop on my lips. $exy!
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Lip Luster in Tempt
Echo7 4/11/2008 8:57:00 PM
How the hell can you screw up peach and/or coral? How!? This is gross - after two bad experiences w/ the lip lusters I will never buy another. I bought them via internet and the swatches are sooo misleading. This one is a murky old lady salmon. Not the pretty coral/peach it looked on the swatch! Don't buy these lip lusters site unseen. Not good!
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Lip Luster in Strip
Echo7 4/11/2008 8:55:00 PM
I love VS cosmetics but hated this colour. It's ugly! A muddy dark mauve. Very Sexy? More like hardly sexy. They usually describe the colours for the lip gloss better - they really need to describe the lip lusters better and I woulda avoided ordering this. Don't buy it unless you see it in person and really like it - over the internet - don't do it!
Palettes -Too Faced - The Quickie Chronicles - The Beach Bunny
Echo7 2/9/2007 11:01:00 PM
These little sets are so cute, and they really pack a pigment punch. The only reason I wouldn't repurchase this set is that the dark brown shadow in it has a little too much red in it for me. The pale gold shimmer is really sweet as well is the peach shimmer bronzer. The lipglosses are great, the pale pink is soft sweet looking sheer pink on the lips and the brighter colour is full of gold shimmer. The look is cute and the size of the palette is perfect for popping in your purse. Can't wait to get another one!
Mocktails are fabulous! Lavaflow is a HOTNESS pink with pink shimmer. It's crazy wild pink if you use Sephora pomegranate lip liner underneath it - such a good combo. On it's own Lavaflow is sheer but still packs a punch. These glosses have the cutest packaging and gorgeous tropical scents. I'm definately going to be getting every single one and so glad I started with Lavaflow!!
This is my first BE product and I am now a convert. In the set are 2 multi-tasking minerals in Bisque & Summer Bisque, an Soft Focus All-Over Face Colour in Glee, Bare Radiance All-Over Face Colour and a Faux Tan All-Over Face Colour along with a maximum coverage concealer brush and a face brush. The multi-tasking minerals cover any blemish, redness and under eye circles completely and flawlessy. I'm very dry skinned and have a real problem with liquid and cream concealer, they do not cover me. This works amazingly well - just need to remember to moisturize. This set will probably only work on light skinned women as the concealers are definately for light skin. Glee is a gorgeous natural every day blush in a pink/mauve colour and faux tan is definately going to be my go-to bronzer for a very natural colour of bronze skin with a hint of shimmer. Bare Radiance is a nude shimmer that seems to warm up my skin and make me look well rested. I now put it over every single makeup look I put on. I'll definately be buying full size of the Bare Radiance and Multi-Tasking minerals. I can't wait to try more from BE - it does work!
Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5-colour eyeshadow in Myriad
Echo7 2/3/2007 10:17:00 PM
A compact of 5 blue toned shades, a shimmering cobalt, a medium shimmering blue, a pale shimmering turqouise, a medium shimmering purple and a white iridescence. They're so pretty and can be used in so many different combinations. I love the cobalt as a cat eye liner (these can be used wet) with the medium shimmer blue all over the lid. The staying power is the best there is and the texture is so silky and soft. This is a great buy if you are looking to try out different shades of blue.
Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 colour eyeshadow 540 Pure Dreams
Echo7 2/3/2007 10:11:00 PM
This compact is my dream come true. The colours are a deep shimmering brown, an iridescent grey-brown, a rosey pink with almost a peach iridescence to it, a pale shimmering pink and a white with pink iridescence. They last for ages and the look is so refined you can wear it day or night. I'm absolutely in love with pure dreams. It was a limited edition compact so it is probably sold out everywhere but if you can get it on Ebay - go for it, you wont be disappointed.
Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Color Shadow--Pink Attitude
Echo7 2/3/2007 8:43:00 PM
These are absolutely beautiful colours in the compact, but I find when applied dry it's hard to build up the colour. Try wetting your eyeshadow brush first - that helps the colour apply true. The colours are a medium pink, pale blue shimmer, white shimmer, beige-peachy-gold shimmer and a grey shimmer. They have a beautiful shimmer in them. Worth trying for sure, the staying power is second to none.
Palettes -Too Faced - Candy Box - Caramel Truffles
Echo7 1/16/2007 7:38:00 PM
The Caramel Truffles set is my first experiment with Too Faced and the result is I am now the biggest fan of Too Faced!!! It's an absolutely gorgeous set. 9 nudey, pinks, peaches and caramel glosses, every combination and individual gloss goes on pigmented and beautiful. It's very emollient. My only wish is that they sold the lipglosses individually so I could buy every single one in full size tubes. When you open the cute little box (you'll find a mirror on the back side of the lip glosses) you see a block of eyeshadow in 4 colours. All gorgeous and shimmery, a pale gold, a silver toned neutral, a deeper chocolate and a bronze - each one is completely pigmented and shimmery. The overall look is fantastic. I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone. It would work on absolutely every skin tone. The colours are pigmented and the set has a nicely subtle sweet chocolate smell to it. Good job Too Faced!!!
Palettes -Stila - Set the Stage for Fall - eye set
Echo7 1/5/2007 11:11:00 PM
I'm so happy with this set. It's got three great neutral browns in it, a bronze kajal liner and a mascara. I find the mascara gives me nice thick dark lashes, certainly nothing to complain about - it's not the most lengthing mascara but it is very thickening. The bronze kajal doesn't really go that well with the e/s in the set - I find it works much better with stila shimmer pot in #10 - but it's a great kajal with that easy smudgey long lasting quality that all the rest of the kajals have. The three eyeshadows in this set are great. It's my go to set for day-time office eyes. The colours are champagne, a shimmering eggshell, latte, a shimmering coffee with one cream and coin, a shimmering medium warm brown. They're easy to blend, nice and neutral and make me look very polished at the office.
Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Couleur Eyeshadow - Secret Charm
Echo7 1/5/2007 10:56:00 PM
I'm 50/50 on this compact. While the two iridescent greens (one dark/deep moss and one pale green) and one iridescent silvery/grey/taupe are gorgeous - the blue and royal blue/purple aren't so good. The greens look fabulous and the taupe is a gorgeous highlight or contour colour. I wouldn't repurchase only because I couldn't figure out how to use the blue/purple without looking like a punk rocker or like I had a black eye. I tried the dark purple just as a liner and it just didn't work. All that being said though - Dior shadows have a great smooth quality and a good strong pigment.
Highlighters -Stila - All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer - 6 - Peach
Echo7 1/5/2007 10:49:00 PM
I stocked up on this limited edition luminizer. If you need a peach luminizer that doesn't go overboard on the shimmer and bring it into the 'frosty' area this is a great one. Sweep it over your cheek bones for a peach luminizer with a hint of pink & gold shimmer in it. I love it over Pout Rampant Rose or combined with Pout After Glow. You can buy this in the limited edition Kitten set on the Sephora website. Also goes really well with Stila It gloss in Gorgeous and paired with a nice shimmering mossy/khaki green eye.
Another great pick from SpyC - this was a b-day present from her and I'm absolutely loving it. It's a cool shimmering bronze that is so easy to apply and blend. I was scared of the shimmer pots at first, thinking I'd just make a mess but that is not the case at all. They apply smoothly and stay put. I wear this with stila kajal liner in Bronze and they are a match made in heaven. I find Lancome eyeshadow in vue goes well as a highlight colour for this shade. Definately a good pick!
