Eye Shadow -Milani - Storm(#11)
Dr_Kawaii 8/15/2006 8:06:00 PM
im really torn in half with this eyeshadow. on one hand, it is THE darkest, blackest, black black blackness ever created. the color payoff kicks the ass of mac black tied or any other high end i've used. but on the other hand, the texture is so "fall-y" i could just scream. i have to get it really really wet with mixing medium for it to STAY on my eyes and not fluff off onto my cheeks. it started getting crumbly in the pot so i figured maybe i just got a shit pot, so i went back to walgreens to get another one. ALL the Storm pots they had were at least semi-crumbly. i still try very tediously to use it every day because i love it. sigh.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Silver Bullet [12]
Dr_Kawaii 6/14/2006 6:38:00 PM
Silver Bullet is a very very light silver, almost like platinum, but its still extremely pigmented. I didn't expect that. With black smudged eyeliner this makes the most striking smokey look. The only thing I don't like about it is it sort of appears a bit "blue" in some lights. But I love it and would repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Desert Sun (01)
Dr_Kawaii 6/14/2006 6:33:00 PM
Oh baby! This is an intense shimmering ORANGEY bronze. It looks brownish in the pan but applies very copper. It might not look very good on very cool or pale skintones but i have medium/tan/yellow skin and it looks amazing. Applied very lightly it can also be a nice subtle copper, but if you apply with ANY pressure at all it's going to be bright. I like that, but others might not. I don't need very much of this for a striking look but if i ever run out I will certainly by it again.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Enchantment (07)
Dr_Kawaii 6/5/2006 4:18:00 PM
Less pigmented?! Are you guys kidding me? I've used this a few times since I bought it 2 weeks ago and every time it's CRAZY pigmented. There's like two simultaneous radiating colors in one- blue and purple. Maybe I got a "special" pot or something. But I love it!

Eye Shadow -Milani - Sheer Sand
Dr_Kawaii 6/5/2006 4:08:00 PM
The color is lovely but the texture is not as nice as most other Milani e/s. It just doesnt pick up as easily or go on as smoothly. Not impossible to work with but it's kind of annoying. It's really beautiful though.

Blush -Milani - Double Impact - Wine & Roses
Dr_Kawaii 6/4/2006 6:24:00 PM
I do admit that this blush is probably not for EVERYONE, but on my skintone it's now my HG. Blue-based plum and pink. I'm tan with yellow undertones and I find that warm/red-based blushes just aren't flattering. This brings just the right amount of cool tones and pink to my cheeks. In the pan the colors look a little dauntingly bright but with a gentle hand it goes on PERFECTLY. I'd say try it, even if you don't like it it's only like 3.50$. Personally I love it.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Clover
Dr_Kawaii 6/4/2006 6:16:00 PM
I have both Mac Humid and Milani Clover. I think Clover is brighter. Humid is just as pigmented but Clover is just more green. I was never too crazy about Humid, it's not bad but I'm indifferent. Clover is so excellent, medium dimensional green on the cool side. I can't believe how GREEN it is. Green is my favourite color so I am ecstatic about this! 15$ for ACCEPTABLE Mac? Or 3$ for OUTSTANDING intense Clover?

Eye Shadow -Milani - Antique Gold #17
Dr_Kawaii 6/3/2006 8:12:00 PM
Oooh, it's SO unbelievably pretty! I agree that it is basically MAC's sumptuous olive, except a bit more gold (and 1/5th the price-- literally.) In the pan it looks like a neutral green/brown, but when I put it on (wet) it's a shimmery, luxurious, rich dark olive. I have medium/tan skin, blonde highlights, and green-brown eyes, and Antique Gold is so flattering.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Illusion [03]
Dr_Kawaii 6/3/2006 8:02:00 PM
Like others said, it goes on more gold than it looks in the pan. But it's a light shimmery peachy gold. It makes my green-brown eyes stand out when used on the lid. I use it as a highlighter with other eyeshadows because it's light enough and such a perfect shade for it. Also when you dont feel like wearing alot of makeup, a little bit of this on your eyes looks natural but brightened. I love it even though it isn't the shade I thought it'd be. It's versatile.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Java Bean (18)
Dr_Kawaii 6/3/2006 7:55:00 PM
I finally found a store that has Milani and bought a bunch. This is a very silky, easy-to-blend, PIGMENTED medium "purpley" brown. Not VERY purpley but a little. I wish it was a little darker or they had a darker version of this, as I originally wanted to use it as a liner. But since it's still extremely pigmented and a lovely color I have fallen in love with it as an eyeshadow. I used "Illusion" on top of this today and it looks magical. <3 And it's SO CHEAP! You could pay for these with your pocket change and they're still such great quality.
EDIT: does this actually BLEND ITSSELF? When I put it on this morning it looked a little uneven but I was in a hurry so I left it alone. Now, some hours later, it looks like I blended it perfectly. WEIRD but very pleasant surprise!!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
Dr_Kawaii 5/29/2006 1:51:00 PM
This makeup is sub-par. Which is really disappointing seeing as how I paid so much for it. I got it in the perfect shade to match my skintone (NC30), so that wasn't a problem. But it doesn't even out my skin, it's almost too matte. Through the day it begins to feel annoyingly chalky/dirty, giving me the urge to wash my face. After a week or two of using this, I noticed breakouts on my forehead/cheeks, and I NEVER break out. It might work for someone else but not me. I'll stick to Revlon Skinlights diffusing tint. Half the price.

Eye Shadow -Prestige - Iguana
Dr_Kawaii 5/27/2006 4:45:00 PM
EDIT: i just recently bought Milani's "Clover" and i think it's better than Iguana. The color payoff is about the same but the Milani formula is soo much nicer.

Eye Shadow -Prestige - Eye Shadow - Blossom
Dr_Kawaii 5/26/2006 11:25:00 PM
Yay!! I've been trying to get this for a long time but they never had it at my Walgreens. I finally got my hands on one today and it's everything I expected. Soft and rich with huge color payoff (like all Prestige eyeshadow). It's burgundy with gold shimmer. I used it in my crease with Prestige's "Love" eyeshadow and they looked delicious together. I'm so happy!!

Eye Shadow -Prestige - Eye Shadow- "Ebony"
Dr_Kawaii 5/26/2006 11:18:00 PM
I use this everyday as an eyeliner. It stays dark black (when applied wet) and doesnt fade during the day. When used dry it does "ash" off onto my cheekbones, which isn't very cute. But since I don't like pure black as an eyeshadow anyway, it doesn't affect me. I just really like the fact that as a wet eyeliner it stays black black all day.

Eye Shadow -Prestige - eyeshadow in Golden Retriever
Dr_Kawaii 5/26/2006 11:12:00 PM
In one word: Yowza. In many words: I am officially in love with Prestige eyeshadows. Especially Golden Retriever at the moment. I bought it last weekend and just got around to using it. Like all my other Prestige eyeshadows, it's silky smooth and RIDICULOUSLY pigmented. MAC quality. It looks like a basic medium gold in the pot, but goes on intense yellowy bronze gold. Extremely sexy with black eyeliner. I'm pretty tan but I can see this working on any skin tone. The fact that it was 3$ and not 15$ like "other" brands also makes me exceedingly delighted. I would totally buy this again.
