Moisturizers -Sukin - Sensitive Facial Moisturiser
rated 3 of 5

Skin is a reasonably priced, organic, natural range of products, I have had issues with every product I have purchased from them. Although this moisturiser smells amazing, like vanilla ice cream, and is full of lovely ingredients, I reacted horribly to something in there and had a rash of inflamed pimples everywhere. My skin is not always on the best of terms with all natural products which is such a shame. On a positive note, it did help with my daughter's eczema flare up behind her knees but I will not repurchase.

Gels/Soaps -Sukin - Botanical Body Wash
rated 3 of 5

I've found that although this is a very cost effective organic and natural range, I have had issues with every product I have bought from it. This body wash smells great and contains no nasties but it irritated my lady bits no end. It is working well now as a morning face wash in the shower to get off night treatments but I will not repurchase.

Scrubs -Sukin - Facial Scrub
rated 2 of 5
Donnz 4/25/2013 11:45:00 PM

While the price for this organic scrub was very reasonable and its base lovely and creamy, the scrub particles were incredibly harsh and yet so sparse they did not exfoliate well at all. I had issues with each of the products I bought from this range which goes to show that all natural doesn't necessarily equate to good results.

Treatments -L'Oreal - Everpure Moisture Deep Restorative Masque
rated 2 of 5
Donnz 3/31/2013 12:03:00 AM

Although this is a non protein treatment which is my hairs preference, this left a halo of frizz around my head and the smell is just awful. For me it isn't minty so much as musty old man aftershave. I have just reviewed the macadamia natural oil deep repair masque if you wish to see my favourite treatment and my hair type, this product for me only gets lippies for combability and not irritating my sensitive scalp.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL Deep Repair Mask
rated 5 of 5
Donnz 3/30/2013 11:56:00 PM

I'm still looking for something cheaper that is comparable but it seems there are none at a lower price point. My hair (almost waist length, extremely dry at the ends, sensitive scalp and very fine but lots of it and a halo of frizz around my head) does not like protein treatments and it just loves this hair masque. It is without a doubt the best a smoothing out the ends and taming frizz for at least two days. I put a small amount in an old spray bottle, added water and voila, instant detangler and frizz tamer. My scalp doesn't react, my hair is shiny and full of body. My only gripe other than the cost, is the smell. It smells like Pantene. Tis is not a bad thing but for the cost, I wish it smelt like roses, or chocolate, honey covered roses dipped in gold if you get my drift. My salon sold single use sachets for NZ$10 so you could try before you purchase a large amount. I will be saving up and getting myself a large tub of this as its fantastic for my hair.

Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - Nourishing Daily Cream Facial Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
Donnz 3/5/2013 7:38:00 PM

I really wanted this product to be a home run but unfortunately it isn't. As with all the yes to carrots range, the smell is lovely. However even with a cloth, it didn't remove my non waterproof makeup and it left my face a little tight. Also if it did get into my eyes, it stung and continued to sting despite rinsing it out. Still on the hunt for the perfect cleanser.

Lotions/ Creams -Yes To Carrots - Super Rich Body Butter
rated 4 of 5
Donnz 3/5/2013 7:32:00 PM

This is a good option for those people with normal skin. It smells lovely, like orange blossoms, it sinks in well and is not sticky nor does it leave a film. However I have super dry skin and you could see within a few hours that this wasn't going to cut the mustard and as it was relatively expensive for my budget, I will not be repurchasing.

Lip Treatments -Yes To Carrots - lip butter
rated 5 of 5
Donnz 3/5/2013 7:27:00 PM

This is the first lip balm I have purchased, apart from lansinoh, which actually improved the condition of my lips. I bought it in mint and love it, as does my husband when he kisses me. My lips were very dry and beginning to peel but not crack and this used regularly during the day, under lip gloss and at night has made my lips super smooth again. A definite repurchase from me.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Beryl
rated 3 of 5
Donnz 2/14/2013 3:45:00 AM

I brought this as a valentines day present to myself after lusting after many items in Channel's new spring 2013 collection. Love the built in sharpener on the end! Like the reviewer below I bought it as a waterline colour intended to make green eyes pop more when wearing a neutral eye makeup look. Unfortunately it is not as soft as it could have been and took a lot of warming up and passes over my waterline before I got a solid colour and at NZ$50, and with so many drug store companies producing much softer quality eyeliners, such as Rimmel, I was sorely disappointed. I love the colour but please Chanel, work on the ease of application and it would be also nice if the same colour was produced with a shimmer not a matte finish like Beryl.

Polishes -OPI - Brand new skates
rated 2 of 5
Donnz 2/10/2013 6:31:00 PM

Yes I love the colour but this polish is so super thin and runny it really does take 3 to 4 coats to get full opacity. On top of this because it is so runny, it is extremely hard to control so it slips down into the cuticles when painting. No repurchase from me I'm afraid.

Polishes -OPI - Yoga-Ta Get This Blue!
rated 3 of 5
Donnz 2/10/2013 6:28:00 PM

This is a beautiful blue no two ways about it but I have to agree with one previous reviewer who said it slides and stains your circles when removing it and for me it also can slip there when you are painting it on despite my best efforts to be careful. So its a no repurchase from me.

Fragrances -Coty - Truth or Dare by Madonna
rated 4 of 5
Donnz 1/18/2013 7:25:00 PM

I love a scent that is so polarizing. As others who love this have said, if you do not enjoy the smell of white flowers, stay away because this is a bridal bouquet and then some! As someone who finds Fracas too overwhelming, it also gives my husband migraines, this is a perfect tribute to a classic with an exquisitely creamy tuberose and muted (thank goodness) jasmine in the forefront with the caramel, amber and musk giving it warmth and depth. It has monster silage to be careful how much you apply. It dries down to an innofensive white floral musk. I took a lippy off for the musk, it would have been wonderful if it had been either left off altogether or replaced with tonka. This is purely personal as my skin turns jasmine to toilet spray and musk to, well, musk. I truly hope they do not discontinue this as there are rumours out there saying it will be and I cannot wait to try her new naked perfume when it finally arrives in NZ.

Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - Manifesto
rated 3 of 5
Donnz 1/18/2013 7:14:00 PM

So disappointed. I have been waiting for so long for this to be released in New Zealand. It is in the same vein as Flowerbomb and La vie Est Belle but softer and slightly smoother. I was expecting something to wow me coming from the house that created Opium but along with diluting that masterpiece it seems they are now just pleasing their board of directors and following the current trend of fruitchoulli.. I love the bottle, although others think its tacky. Never mind, I will be saving up for their forever youth serum so they haven't lost me completely as a fan, just no fan of their fragrances anymore.

Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
rated 3 of 5
Donnz 12/23/2012 5:39:00 PM

Again I'm finding myself in the minority here, I really like this lip butter. The colour suits my nc 20-25 skin really well, and despite it's name, is more a nude pinky peach rather than straight peach. The lipsticks are off for the glitter particles. They do make the texture gritty and if your lips are dry, they gravitate in big lines there so you have to use lip balm beforehand. Lasting power is the same as any tinted lip product and until I find the same colour minus the glitter but still with a glossy sheen in my price range then I will continue to purchase. For reference, I have already purchased cotton candy and it looks awful with my skin tone, while peach parfait is a hit.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Sport Face SPF 70
rated 2 of 5
Donnz 12/19/2012 4:25:00 PM

I had to rush in and write this review to warn those who are in the southern hemisphere and are currently looking for their sunscreen now that summer is here with a vengeance. I bought this due to the fantastic reviews but should have known better when I saw the ingredients. I have extremely dry but sensitive skin so sunscreens with a high level of physical sunscreen burn my skin, leaving large patches of redness but I have found only one chemical that didn't sting my eyes when I sweat, which is inevitable in a New Zealand summer. Upon application it was great. It smoothed on nicely, stunk of sunscreen but that is what it is, its not going to smell of roses, and my make up went on smoothly over the top. I then walked my daughter to kindy and was barely half way there when just now I was blinded by the stinging pain of avobenzone leeching into my eyes. I made it back with one eye shut and mascara streaming down my face. Although I have washed it off and applied a cold flannel to ease the burning, my eyes are still stinging. Why would companies make a face specific sunscreen that can't go near your eyes? Come on! Back to L'oreal's spf 50 I go.
