Gels/Soaps -Olay - Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Aging Extra Nourishing

I usually love Olay products but this one was a huge disappointment! It left a slimy, greasy film on my skin and I did not feel clean after using it. Actually had to take another shower using my old stand-by, Dove Body Wash. Also noticed that the bathtub felt somewhat slippery after using this. Don't think I will be repurchasing this one.

Smells really good on other people but just did not work for me! I wanted to love this but it smelled terrible, and I really can't even describe what it smelled like. Lemon Pledge?? Bug spray?? Glad I saved the receipt because back it goes. Ho-Hum.

Shampoo -Pureology - Volume Shampoo

Terrible shampoo! Leaves a film on my hair, and my hair looks almost dirty. It smells awful, like cheap aftershave. Did nothing to give my hair any volume. Glad I only bought a small, sample size. Will not repurchase under any circumstances.

Scrubs -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Sea Salt Body Scrub

Bought this with high hopes but what a disappointment! There is ALOT of oil with this product which creates a very slippery condition in the shower or tub. I also found it hard to to remove from my skin, it felt like there was an oily film left behind. Can't honestly say I saw any difference in the way my skin felt with this product. I know I won't be repurchasing this one!

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL volume+length microfiber mascara
rated 1 of 5

I did not care for this mascara at all! As dumb as this may sound, I thought the wand was far too short, the tube kept bumping me on the bridge of my nose and I felt like I had NO control over the application. Very awkward to use. Don't think I'll be buying this again. Another pricey alternative is Lancome's Cils Booster.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover

Very greasy, left a film on my eyes and lashes. It felt like there was something in my eye after I used this. Not good for a contact lens wearer like myself. I'm just glad it was a GWP and I didn't buy it.

Moisturizers -Olay - Olay Complete Multi-Radiance Daily Illuminating Lotion with spf 15
rated 5 of 5
DonnaC 12/7/2005 10:04:00 AM

I've been using this for about three weeks and have noticed a vast improvement in my skin. Even though my skin wasn't really bad before using this, for some reason it looks even better now. The redness is dimished, it looks smoother and I love the way it has a subtle radiance about it. Hence the name I guess. I've tried all of the high-end, department store lines but this little $14 bottle has done more then all of those put together! I am pretty sure I will re-purchase this unless something else comes along that beats this hands down, but I doubt it. For the price it's worth a try!

Fragrances -Trish McEvoy - #3 Snowdrop and Crystal Flowers
rated 2 of 5

A really wonderful fragrance, light and clean, BUT absolutley no staying power! I even purchased the body lotion and within a few hours you could hardly tell I had this on. :-( I think Trish McEvoy has some really great fragrances but she needs to work on the staying power. For the price, I would expect more from her fragrance line.

YUK! This is right up there with Clinique's Aromatic Elixir. Heavy and cloying, one of those scents that gives you a headache with nausea. Thank heavens this was a sample and I didn't make the mistake of buying it.

Skincare - Body -Crabtree & Evelyn - La Source Body Toner
rated 1 of 5
DonnaC 7/23/2005 2:24:00 PM

I hate to be the spoiler here, but the scent of the La Source line makes me absolutely nauseous. I purchased the Body Toner and the Body Lotion while shopping one Saturday. Of course the sale person had to test it on me and at first it smelled wonderful. As the day progressed I developed one of those nasty headaches, often brought on by certain perfumes. When I got home and took the toner out of the box to try on my arm, WHOA! This was it, definitley the scent that gave me the headache. As I sniffed my arm, again and again, it became even more repugnent. The only was I can describe this is cheap aftershave worn by some dirty, old man. Normally, I have always loved Crabtree and Evelyn products, but not this one! I am on my way to the shower before I throw up. Sorry Oprah! This is one of my least favorite things.

Brows -Chanel - Sculpting Brow Pencil
rated 5 of 5
DonnaC 4/13/2005 5:46:00 AM

I am not sure what it is about this pencil that makes it such a pleasure to use! Maybe the consistency. I was using Lancome's Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet, but Chanel's Sculpting Brow Pencil far surpasses Lancome. I am using Blonde Cendre and at first I thought the color would be terrible on me since I have dark brown eyebrows but it's perfect! My eyebrows look much more natural now, they don't look so "painted on". Love the brush too! I know this is expensive, $27 at Nordstrom but well worth the price. The pencil is a nice size so I can't imagine having to buy it too often. It comes with it's own little sharpener which is great. This is a keeper and one I will definitley repurchase.

Mascara -Laura Mercier - Thickening & Building mascara
rated 1 of 5

I generally like Laura Mercier products but this mascara was a HUGE disappointment. It did nothing for my lashes. Thank heavens I bought it at Nordstrom and could take it back. For $19.50 I expected alot more from this line.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
rated 5 of 5
DonnaC 10/13/2004 8:09:00 AM

Well, I think I have FINALLY found my HG mascara! I've been a long time user of Lancome Definicils but YSL mascara far surpasses Definicils. It doesn't clump the way Definicils does and it makes my lashes long and luscious! Although somewhat pricey well worth it! :-)

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer
rated 1 of 5
DonnaC 9/20/2004 10:57:00 AM

I was so hopeful this would finally be the BEST gloss I've ever tried, but sad to say this is probably one of the most horrible glosses I've ever used! It runs, the staying power is nil, and it's too expensive for what it is, $24.50. So back it will go to Nordstrom. :-(

Self Tanners -Clarins - Clarins Sheer Bronze Hydrating Self-Tanner for the Face
rated 5 of 5
DonnaC 4/13/2004 9:15:00 AM

WOW! I love this stuff! I bought this with some apprehension but it delivers everything it says and more! About an hour after application, you develop this really nice, healthy color. Not fake looking, just a nice, bronzy glow. This will be a staple in my make-up bag. As usual, Clarins has developed another fabulous self-tanner. :-)
