Nails -Zoya - Remove+ Nail Polish Remover
DizzyNicky 9/28/2012 2:40:00 PM
I've replaced my Cutex Nail Polish Remover (the one in the twist n lock pump) with ZOYA REMOVE+ NAIL POLISH REMOVER. When looking for a cruelty-free replacement for my nail polish remover I wanted a pump dispenser. I read the reviews on this and decided to give it a shot. The fact that it was purple may have had something to do with it as well. :) I like this remover because it does a great job removing my polish and a little goes a long way. I use one cotton swab for both hands. Which was not the case with my other nail polish removers, I'd have cotton balls all over the place. The dispenser pumps out just enough product, not to much not to little. The smell, it does not smell like your typical nail polish remover. Now I'm not saying that I'm going to wear it as a perfume but the smell is far less offensive than the typical smell of removers. This has sort of a subtle spicy smell to it. My husband no longer complains when I do my nails. :) Great product!

Eye Primer -Palladio - Herbal Eyeshadow Primer
DizzyNicky 6/30/2012 8:51:00 PM
This was my go to eye shadow primer until I tried Too Face Shadow Insurance which is worth the extra $$ in my opinion, but this is a great product, I rotate this between my Too Faced and Elf eye shadow primers. You can view swatches on my blog. Great product, no complaints, makes my shadow more vibrant and keeps it in place all day! Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
DizzyNicky 6/30/2012 8:48:00 PM
This is a great primer for a buck. My HG eye shadow primer is Too Face Shadow Insurance but this is a close second. It actually dries faster. You can read my full comparison on my blog and see swatches. http://dizzynicky.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/eye-shadow-primer-my-favs/

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
DizzyNicky 6/30/2012 8:44:00 PM
This is my HG eye shadow primer! It makes my eye shadow so much more vibrant than any other primer I’ve used and it stays put all day. I kid you not, Elf is a very close second and it actually dries faster. Too Faced’s version is a little more sheer, Elf’s leaves a little more pigment on the lid. I find applying all of them with my finger works best. Read about all of my favorite primers and see swatches on my blog... http://dizzynicky.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/eye-shadow-primer-my-favs/

Lip Liners -Jesse's Girl - Lipliner
DizzyNicky 6/30/2012 8:33:00 PM
My favorite lip liner was Rimmel’s 1,000 kisses in the color “Cherry Kiss.” It was the perfect color because it went with both red and pink lipsticks. Ever since I discovered that Rimmel tests on animals I stopped buying it and began my search for a dupe and THIS IS IT!!! It has good pigmentation, the pencil formula isn’t too soft or too firm so it applies easily but its not too soft/creamy to where it bleeds. I love this color, it goes with reds and pinks. Makeup Brushes -Essence - Eyeshadow brush
DizzyNicky 3/26/2012 5:40:00 PM
This brush is a great bargain, what a steal! You can never have to many shader brushes and I find I reach for this brush every single day. I ended up re-ordering more of them along with the smokey eye brush (which I don't like a much but I don't regret buying it at all, it works well too). This is just a great, soft, functional brush and its so dang affordable that you can afford to buy them in multiples so you always have a clean brush on hand. I love the purple and black design. I'm a sucker for cute packaging what can I say? I'd pick up 2 or 3 or these babies for yourself. They are synthetic so they are cruelty-free, yay!

Misc Beauty Tools -Ulta - Super Blender Elliptical Sponge
DizzyNicky 3/26/2012 5:27:00 PM
I bought this because I didn't want to shell out for a beauty blender and I saw reviews on YouTube that claimed they worked the same. When I wet the sponge it didn't soften like I thought it would, it remained stiff. I used it to apply my revlon colorstay liquid foundation and found that it was stiff and hard to use. It wiped away more foundation than it applied. It could be user error, but I prefer to apply my foundation with my Sigma F80, love that brush!

Eyeliner -Essence - Gel Eyeliner
DizzyNicky 3/22/2012 1:20:00 PM
I found out that Maybelline was not a cruelty free brand and was pretty bummed because I love their studio gel eye liner and so I needed to find a replacement. I tried Elf, Wet 'n Wild and a few other brands, nothing was as good. I was placing an order from Ulta and stumbled on to this brand and for the price I thought why not give it a shot, it's only $3.50! It's amazing, so dark and pigmented and glides on. If you wear winged eyeliner you need to give this a try. It goes on so smoothly, it doesn't set right away so you can manipulate the product at first, so be careful not to smear it. Then it sets and it stays put all day. You'll need a good makeup remover to take it off. Which I don't mind, I want my eye liner to stay put. I have sensitive eyes and this product does not bother them at all.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Dial Up
DizzyNicky 3/12/2012 1:36:00 AM
I like this, I have sensitive eyes so I am limited in what mascaras I can use. My eyes will tear at the drop of a hat so I've had to go through many many brands to find ones that won't make my eyes water. This is a good mascara if you like a natural look, it is also great for bottom lashes. I like to use this in conjunction with other brands that offer more volume, the wand is great for untangling clumped lashes because the plastic bristles are very fine. I found this at the dollar store so I always have a few tubes on hand and one in my purse. Over all, this isn't going to offer anything exciting, but if you have sensitive eyes and want a natural looking mascara give this a shot. Almay is a cruelty free brand so thumbs up there. You can read more mascara reviews here or on my blog Dizzy Nicky's Makeup Amusement Park (Wordpress).

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
DizzyNicky 3/12/2012 1:22:00 AM
I had high expectations for this mascara because of all the rave reviews I saw on YouTube. For me, the formula is too wet and it clumps. Also, it takes a while to dry, and when it does, it leaves my lashes looking dry and crunchy. I've recently learned that Maybelline isn't a cruelty free brand so that's an automatic thumbs down for me, but even if it were I would not repurchase this product.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
DizzyNicky 3/12/2012 1:04:00 AM
Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes (LCL) - This works awesome for me, it holds my curl, separates and thickens my lashes. I have such a hard time finding mascaras that will hold a curl and add length, I typically have to mix and match formulas and use a few different kinds to get the results I want. Not with this stuff, it dries fast and after I add my final coat, I curl my lashes and the results are long, curled lashes that last all day! The formula contains fibers so it’s very buildable, you can add as much length and volume as you need. The key is to apply multiple thin coats and to let it dry between each coat. I like to use a clean L’Oreal Million Lashes wand (instead of a spoolie) to untangle any lashes that go awry (I just really like the brush and how it separates). The fact that I’m only using on e brand of mascara is amazing, it’s definitely my go to mascara right now, and its cruelty free, a big THUMBS UP! Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
DizzyNicky 3/1/2012 1:21:00 PM
This was a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law. At first I wasn’t using it right and it irritated my skin and broke me out horribly. Then I just happen to see a review on YouTube by ginabinawina99 and she made me realize that I needed to cut back on the length of time I was using it. It’s programmed to run for a minute and then shut off. Now I use it for about 30 seconds in the shower everyday on my face and lips, then I use it on my knees and elbows for the rest of the time. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and removes makeup build up. The charge lasts quite awhile and its compact enough to keep in the shower. Great product, would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Crème -L'Oreal - True Match Super Blendable Compact Makeup
DizzyNicky 2/27/2012 1:35:00 AM
At first I liked this product, the color n4 matched my skin perfectly and the coverage and finish were very nice. After 3 days of using the product my skin broke out like crazy, which rarely happens. If you have normal to combination skin I would avoid this product. Thumbs down, on this product.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Nourishing Mascara Triple Effect
DizzyNicky 2/27/2012 1:11:00 AM
I bought this on a recommendation I saw on YouTube because the user compared it to the Lights Camera Lashes mascara by Tarte and because I have sensitive eyes and also because Almay is a brand I can always count on not to irritate my eyes. While it did add a ton of volume and made my lashes very thick and black, it unfortunately weighed down my lashes. When I first put it on, I like the job it did as far as lengthening and thickening. Also the color pigmentation is excellent, one of the blackest blacks I've seen. But unfortunately the formula does not hold a curl and my problem child lashes ended up pointing down, weighed down by the mascara. This formula is not for me, but I can see it being a great mascara for those that don't need to curl their lashes and want volume. I so wanted this to work for me but it didn't.

Styling Products -Schwarzkopf - Got 2b smooth operator
DizzyNicky 2/27/2012 12:48:00 AM
This product performs like a high end product but only costs $4 – $6 depending on where you buy it. I have to admit I originally bought it because of the cute packaging and it happened to be on sale. When I used it for the first time, I couldn’t believe how awesome my hair looked and felt. I put this in my hair when it’s still wet along with a heat protector and then blow my hair dry. It leaves my hair shiny and silky. I will also use this in combination with my go to styling product, Paul Mitchel Sculpting lotion. I can’t say enough good things about it, what a great find this was. I buy it at mine Rite Aid and CVS and I’ve seen it as low as $3.99 at Rite Aid.
