Shampoo -Wen by Chaz Dean - Cleansing Conditioners - All
DixieChick04 11/11/2008 7:29:00 AM
I must be in the minority, but this was the worst my hair ever looked! I had such high hopes since hearing and seeing all the rave, only to end up with a ball of grease on my head. I used the Lavender, because I needed volume..according to Chaz on Q....and followed the directions to the T. After having a heck of a time blow drying it into some sort of style, I spent the rest of the day trying to keep it from flattening, without success. An hour after, I looked like I hadn't washed my hair in days. I'm happy for those who have had great success with it, but it's not for everyone.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
DixieChick04 3/18/2008 3:05:00 PM
I have found my HG! I have a combo skin and I deal with sensitive, redness, breakouts, blackheads, etc. I was skeptical about the hype on this product, but decided to swap for it to try. At first I'll be honest...I broke out here and there from it the first week. Who wants that!?! So I figured that it wasn't for me and went back to my usual cleaner...my drugstore stuff that was much cheaper. Then I was researching another product from Philosophy, and I came across reviews on Purity again. I found out, that some of us goes through a transition period when you start another product. So I pulled it out of the cabinet, dusted it off, and gave it another shot. Wow! What a difference after my "transition!" My skin is clean, clear and now I only have a one or two breakouts and it's usually around that time of the month. And...you should see it take your makeup off like nothing! I'm talking eyeliner, eyeshadow, stubborn mascara without the burn or sting that other products do if you get it slightly in your eyes! So what makes this so different from my drugstore cleanser besides the price? One word....gentleness. What sold me on it was when I was sick with the flu. You know when you nose is raw and chapped and the last thing you want to do is burn your nose with a cleanser? This is gentle and has no burn on your poor dry chapped skin. Now, I will never go back to the drugstore brand...or any other brand for the matter. I have clean, clear, non irritated skin that looks great. I wash my makeup brushes with it; once a week wash my hair to remove buildup; and I've even trusted it with my children's delicate skin when they have marker or pen accidents. My opinion...give it a shot! It's well worth every penny =).

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
DixieChick04 3/18/2008 2:33:00 PM
I bought this product based on the reviews here on MUA...and I couldn't have loved it more! I'm a blond who can never find a nice color without looking washed out or too fake. Now that I'm in my 30's I want a more natural color that helps compliment my fair/medium cool complexion. Since having my children, my natural light blond hair had darkened to a med/dark blond...which doesn't cut it for me. So I chose (82) Champagne Fizz..Champagne Blonde...and it looks wonderful!!! What a great color and I've had many compliments from my harshest critics...my family!! I think I'm going to stick with this color for awhile...it's a perfect cool color for my complexion =).

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Back to School
DixieChick04 11/19/2007 8:26:00 PM
I have fair/medium complexion with lots of red in my skin especially in the cheek area. For years I have felt there was no need for blush, and tried to cover it up with any type of foundation out there. But now that I'm getting older, I feel "the pale look" isn't the way to go. What would I choose? I found that when choosing colors, you can't always go with what a company claims will look on you. When I did...the pinks and plums...are just replacing the "red" looking face for me. So when I was choosing the blush for my EM package, I scrolled over each one by one, carefully reading the discription and taking a closer look each of the pictures. This one caught my eye, and thought what the heck! I have to say...I'm so happy I did! It gives me just a hint of peach color that isn't overwhelming yet so flattering on my fair/medium face. I haven't been able to find a better blush for me that can come close enough to this one. This is my HG of all blushes!! Kudos EM!!

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Strawberry Milkshake 3 in 1
DixieChick04 11/7/2007 9:20:00 AM
I have to say...I have been dying to try this product. Just the sound of it had yummy all over it. When I got it home, how disappointed I was :( The smell is "fake" to me, not the juicy strawberries I was hoping for. The smell didn't last at all..and I'm talking from the bath to getting dressed...smell was gone. Price tag for these are outrages for non lasting scent. :(

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
DixieChick04 10/22/2007 12:21:00 AM
I have a sister who's eyelashes are stunning! And I mean her lashes are long and beautiful. If that isn't stinky enough, my DH's eyelashes are just as beautiful. And of course, my DD and DS have been blessed with them as well. So I have a tall order trying to get mine even close. My eyelashes, are short, stubby and hate to curl. Usually by the end of the day..they are sticking straight out, or limp..lol. They have no thickness, and I have yet to find my "perfect" mascara. Until now! I picked up the very black (even though I'm light with blond hair and blue eyes...I found that the darker shows up nicer and gives me more eye popping effect than brown black) last night at CVS on my way home from the dreaded grocery shopping trip. I debated and debated on whether or not I'm going to shell out 8 bucks and change for a product I wasn't sure would fit the bill. I haven't had any luck with any mascara, and like the many reviewers on here...need to be enrolled into Mascara anonymous. I seem to be allergic to Maybelline, Loreal and Lanacome which I then realized is all the same company. Well if you have any doubts, let me reassure you are not waisting your money on "another" mascara. I put this on in the morning, and it's midnight now....my lashes look just as long, curled, and perfect as first thing this morning. I did use and eyelash curler and the mascara seems to hold the curl perfectly. There is no flaking, no itching, no irritation what so ever! You can't get more perfect than that! I have never been so excited about a product, especially a mascara. Walk, no run to your nearest CVS, Target or wherever else you can get it and buy one. You can't go wrong. I can't wait to see the waterproof one come out. I'm hoping it's just as good as the original.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
DixieChick04 10/13/2007 10:10:00 AM
First let me start off saying that I have been a fan of this website since I first laid eyes on it. I'm always looking for product reviews, especially makeup, and I have saved plenty and found great stuff too! Thanks!!! I am a huge BE fan, but again have a family to raise and the cost is getting to be too much. I wanted to find a cheaper yet the same effect as BE and I carefully considered this product. I read all of the reviews on here and decided to take the chance. I visited the PF website, but was disappointed that they had no tool on helping pick your foundation color. I have blond hair, blue eyes, and fair with cool undertones. However, when it came to the BE product line, the medium was best for me. The fair and light made me look like I had seen a ghost, so by the third try...just the medium foundation was best...go figure. I bought the PF in trans. med right before I went on a girls weekend with the women in my family. Who better to be my critics than family, trust me on this. I didn't tell them, but everyone of them asked what foundation I was using while on our trip. I explained about BE and told them I think I found a better one in PF. My sister who is a huge BE fan had to try it, and by the end of our trip, everyone had a foundation to take home with them. Just a side note on my comparison to BE: I found PF covered better, gave me the same effect as BE and was just as natural. I didn't mind the design of the packaging, I just used a cap from an empty BE to work my magic. I only had to reapply with a tiny brush in certain trouble spots mid afternoon, but with BE I had to do a whole face reapplication. I'm going to look into PF "mineral veil" soon, once I run out of BE. I'm confident it will be just as good. My last tidbit from researching...use a primer. However, I don't like to spend the bucks...hmmm, diapers or primer...lol. But I've heard from makeup artists that Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Gel because it has the silicone base like the most expensive brands. Hope I helped!!
