Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
DellaSimone 11/24/2012 10:26:00 AM
PROS: I <3 UD eyeshadows. This palette comes with a wide variety of colors, each of them truly wearable. All of the colors can be used for both warm and cool undertones. The pinks and nudes are lovely as base colors and can be used as beige liner as well as in the corners of your eyes to open them up. Also, I almost always use these as wet shadows. CONS: Ridiculously high price. The brush that comes with it is well made, but useless! Also, even with an eye primer some of the colors you add as a secondary color will wrinkle and crinkle and crease. Then, halfway through the day, will dry up and you'll find those lovely "eyeshadow flakes" underneath your eyes. More and more I find myself experimenting with cream eyeshadow. I digress. SUMMARY: IMO, buy individual UD eyeshadows rather than this palette. 3 stars.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Toasted
DellaSimone 11/24/2012 10:09:00 AM
PROS: Urban Decay = great eye shadow. Long lasting, in so many great colors. Toasted is a classic chestnut brown that works well on warm and cool colors, IMO. The price is reasonable. Small and compact for easy application. CONS: I prefer cream shadow, but eyeshadow powder is always a must in my collection whether I am using it over my eye primer as a base or using it as or over my eyeliner. SUMMARY: 5 stars.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
DellaSimone 11/23/2012 10:24:00 PM
PROS: I never used primer until I received a free sample of Photo Finish Primer last year from Sephora. Then - my face cleared up; it smoothed; makeup looked better - I LOOKED better! Most of us girls know this is the best primer on the market. Whether you prefer the regular Photo Finish primer (like me), or the light version (also very popular), you WILL notice a difference in the appearance of your face - a cleaner, more youthful appearance with makeup that lasts a heck of alot longer than applying it bareback. :D CONS: PRICE! SUMMARY: Every single makeup-wearing woman (and man!) should be wearing a primer under their makeup. Also, did you know that Smashbox also gives tips to try this product as a hair smoother? It does work rather well in a pinch! 5 stars.

BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
DellaSimone 11/23/2012 10:13:00 PM
PROS: Smashbox did a great job with this BB cream - I've tried about 5 brands already, this is my favorite. Blends easily, great for sensitive skin, nice variety of colors and 1.0 fl oz will last you an entire season. CONS: Price, my usual complaint with Smashbox. However, you do get what you pay for. ;) SUMMARY: One of, if not the best BB creams on the market to date. 5 stars.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Lulu Organic Hair Powder
DellaSimone 11/23/2012 9:58:00 PM
PROS: Organic. TALC-free. Yay! I have long, thick, wavy, highlighted blonde hair which is naturally brown. Lots of maintenance and upkeep. Alot of products go into my hair. Although I would like to wash it everyday; I've learned in order to keep it sleek and smooth, I have to shampoo every other day and decided to try Lulu's Hair Powder on the day I don't shampoo to tone back some of the shine and soak up any extra product I used to straighten my hair. I'm impressed. I like the scent (I have Lavender & Sage as well as Jasmine in the travel sizes), the price was reasonable, like I said before - no talc, no white weird residue, and although I'm not an organic freak, I am a bit more conscious of organic products when it comes to putting things directly on my scalp, so this is an added bonus. CONS: None really. This is a dry shampoo that should be in every girl's bag. SUMMARY: 5 stars.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Figs & Rouge 100% Organic Balm Pomegranate
DellaSimone 11/23/2012 9:46:00 PM
PROS: It's organic - I have this lip balm (which, btw, you can also use on your hands, face, and anywhere else you're experiencing extreme dryness) in Rambling Rose, Coco Vanilla and Sweet Geranium, and I love them all - one of the few lip balms that actually WORK. I only use them on my lips. The price is totally reasonable - under $10. CONS: Their balms are a bit oily, and come in metal containers that need to be twisted open which can be a bit hard to do. Also, it's a lip-to-mouth application, not my favorite way to apply lip balm, but since it's a bedtime ritual, it's not bad. SUMMARY: Organic and cheap and it works. Give it a try! 4 stars.

Powders -Smashbox - Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder
DellaSimone 11/23/2012 9:39:00 PM
PROS: This is a great product - wonderful on my sensitive, acne prone skin, and I'm allergic to everything. Halo provided a wonderful medium-opaque coverage without caking or flaking, or creasing into those laugh lines. Absolutely one of the best powders on the market, IMO. The packaging is unique, and I do like it - it's portable, has a mirror, and you can control how little or how much you want with a twist. CONS: Toss the brush it comes with in the garbage, it's worthless. Use your own. Price is steep - $60 for two, maybe two and a half months of use? Eek. Also, my natural color is somewhere in between light and medium, which makes me wish Smashbox would come out with a color in between the two. Also, it's extremely hard to tell when you're about to run out! I usually order another towards the end of the second month, after I found out the hard way when I ran out the first time. SUMMARY: I would recommend this product just for the fact it's really great on my sensitive, all over the map skin, provides decent coverage and Smashbox is a fantastic brand that rarely disappoints. 4 stars.
