Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick - Crimsonaire
rated 5 of 5
Deeny 10/21/2004 2:04:00 PM

I was pleasantly pleased with Crimsonaire, my first Shadestick! It's indeed a hot pink, and the shimmer is not noticeable on me. I put this over my LM Eye Basics, and it stayed put rather well. This shade looks fabulous under Pink Bronze or Rose pigments - it really adds depth to the pigment shades! I thought that I might hate these because I'm not a Paint fan, but these are better in my opinion. I did notice that it was a little hard, but breathing on the stick warmed it up to a smoothing point. I'm very pleased with this!

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Surprise
rated 5 of 5
Deeny 9/1/2004 4:04:00 PM

I flip-flopped on this lipgloss for a long time. I'm really glad I ended up buying it - it's very flattering! When applied (and even in the tube) I don't see the green cast everyone mentions. What I see is a gold with most of the yellow removed, kind of a taupey gold. It makes my lips shimmer when applied alone (MMM, med. pigmented lips), and wakes up the color of bland lipsticks. The only complaint I have is the applicator - I have to swipe some with my finger to avoid mixing lipstick colors on the doe-foot. Other than that, this is one of my favorite l/g's of all time!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - Mullet
rated 4 of 5
Deeny 8/19/2004 4:09:00 PM

I'd passed on this in Sephora for Spandex, but later ordered Mullet online because I was fascinated with the color. It's kinda like a bright lime green shade, with all the yellow taken out. It's a very cool color. I usually hate greens, but this eyeliner looks great. Really great. It makes my eyes sparkle without looking like a Vegas showgirl. Surprisingly, it looks great paired with blues and bronzes as well as greens. On the bad side: the reason I took off a lipstick is that this eyeliner burns like hell until it dries, but after that it's fine. I suppose if that's the price I have to pay for all-day wear, I'll take it. :)

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - Spandex
rated 4 of 5

I am a glitter liner junkie. There, I said it. :) Spandex is a not-so-opaque bluish-black gel base with multicolor glitter suspended in it. I see a great deal of beautiful blues & greens, accented by orange & red. Perhaps because of the base shade, Spandex takes a few layers to get the opacity I like. I use this with my red/pink/purple/blue eyeshadows, and it looks great! On the downside: the reason I took off one lipstick is that these liners burn like hell after application, but once they dry it's fine. Maybe it's the fact that I keep the liner pretty close to the lashline, but if that's the price I have to pay for all-day wear, I'll take it. :)

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer Blush - Ambering Rose
rated 4 of 5
Deeny 5/18/2004 8:19:00 PM

Hmm...not sure about this one. Ambering Rose reminds me of Fabublush CCB, only slightly darker with a red base. Sometimes it looks good on my MMM skin, and other times I look like I'm sporting a sunburn. I've found that I can't wear any other bold colors with it, because Ambering Rose overpowers the other colors. Like certain other sheertone blushes (Loverush, for example), it's not exactly sheer, and is rather bright. I'm still not sure what I think of this, but for now I like it. (I think.)

Edited: Ok, I really can't wear this blush. Very pretty, but not on me. I found it a new home. :(

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Ornamental
rated 5 of 5
Deeny 5/14/2004 4:15:00 PM

Hmmm.....I fell in love with this lustreglass at MAC, then ordered it. It's a copper/red/bronze - very unique, kind of like a reddish penny color. Not sure about how I like it alone (NC35, med. pigmented lips), but on top of "O" l/s it's gorgeous. Stunning, really. The texture is indeed thinner and not sticky, which is pretty cool 'cause it doesn't sink into the corners of my mouth as much. It looks pretty with plums or peaches on the rest of the face, but it was too much to pair with Ambering Rose blush. Great color to own!

Eye Shadow -MAC - All-Girl Pigment
rated 5 of 5
Deeny 4/17/2004 12:24:00 PM

I am such a sucker when it comes to pigments. All Girl, in the jar, looks like a pink Kitschmas (as other reviewers have pointed out!) On me (MMM), it looks like someone mixed Pink and Frozen White pigments. There's a bit of that bluish iridescence, even though it's not a duochromatic color. It's a nice effect, but I was hoping for a warmer pink with a little more depth to the color. I think it will work nicely over deeper eyeshadows, though I wear it on its own as well. The texture is a mix of Frost and Golden Olive; not really chunky, but not just shimmery either. At least it's not as bad as Dark Soul's texture. :P I will be buying this again because, as I stated earlier, I am a sucker for pigments. ;)

Blush -NARS - Outlaw

A medium berry with golden shimmer, this blush is my sure-fire tool for looking gorgeous. I can't imagine this looking bad on anyone (though it may), and the tone of rosy glow that it gives it truly unmatched. It gives me (NC35) a deep glow that is very becoming. If you ever catch me without this blush, it's 'cause someone pried it from my cold, dead hands. :)

Blush -NARS - Lovejoy
rated 5 of 5
Deeny 1/30/2004 12:53:00 AM

Hmm - when I first put this on, I wanted to send it back. Turns out it really works for my NC35 skin! I think of it as a really shimmery bronzer, and it looks like I've been at the beach all day. It gives me a nice golden sheen as well - no need for the shimmerbrick (not that that stops me!)

Edited: This is truly an HG blush. I wear it daily, either as a blush or contour color. Very flattering!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Midnight Cowboy
rated 4 of 5
Deeny 1/30/2004 12:48:00 AM

This is a pretty champagne color with tons of silver glitter. It's pretty much a given that it'll fall on your cheeks, so consider yourself warned. ;) It is a very pretty shade, but works better for going out clubbing. It's 'cause of the falling glitter that I give it 4 l/s, and probably won't repurchase since MAC's Fairylite pigment gives a similar effect with less glitter.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - YDK eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5

I can't imagine living without this shadow ever again. It is such a beautiful beigy-taupe light brown with tons of shimmer. Fawn seems like a good color description. It works great as a base, and I often use it as such when I want to be able to blend in other colors and modify them. I swear you can use this to blend in with almost any color - one of my faves is YDK as a wash, Last Call on the eyelid and Oil Slick on the crease. If you keep blending, you get a really pretty effect! Great shadow!

When I bought this e/s, I didn't think I would like it this much! It's really versatile & blendable. A super dark charcoal grey with tons of silver shimmer, it blends well with just about any e/s, creating a nice shadow for the crease. I really love it with Last Call and/or YDK. This e/s is all I need to take a look from daytime to night. Really great product!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Last Call eyeshadow

This is my favorite UD shadow yet! Kinda hard to describe - it has elements of plum, magenta, maroon, pink, and a lot of shimmer (no glitter). On my NC35 skin, this positively radiates! I also have the best luck with UD as far as creasing goes. I'd run like a madwoman to repurchase if anything ever happened to mine. :)

Highlighters -Urban Decay - Honey Powder
rated 4 of 5
Deeny 1/30/2004 12:30:00 AM

Hmm - I like the gold shimmer, and the taste is pretty good; the scent, though, is a combination of sour & pee. Like it took too much to make it taste sweet, so the smell suffered. Whatever. I'm giving it 4 l/s because of its good attributes, although I don't really want to smell it all day. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive?

Powders -Urban Decay - Red Hot Flavored Body Powder

Another winner from UD! The cinnamon flavor is fantastic, and the light pink shimmer is just beautiful. I love the box too - something about the red just floors me. I'd say this is my second favorite so far (I have Marshmallow and Honey as well).
