Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Adore Shining Semi-Permanent Hair Dye
DecoDolly 4/19/2013 7:09:00 PM
This is my favorite of the crazy color brands. It's much cheaper than the other popular brands, and in my experience, it lasts longer, and the bottle lasts a long time, too. I recently dyed my hair with Splat's lusty lavender color and it's faded to fuchsia with a big blonde splotch in the back (grr), so I picked up a bottle of my trusty Adore in Aquamarine, which I'm very much looking forward to using (I've never had fully turquoise hair, just part turquoise, so I'm excited!). I've used Aquamarine, Purple Rage, Paprika, and Crimson, and loved them all. It is very thin, so it can be messy, but it mixes quite well with conditioner and with other dyes, if you want to customize your shade or make it more pastel. Also, I've never had a problem putting it over another color. It's great to not have to remove the color that you're getting sick of, and to be able to just put this over it and have it cover it up beautifully!

BB Cream -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude BB Creme
DecoDolly 4/17/2013 5:59:00 PM
The SA gave me a sample of this when I told her that Dior doesn't make a foundation light enough for me. This is no exception. The lightest shade is too dark and too pink/orange for my PPP neutral skin. It also smells like hairspray, which I assume is from all of the alcohol in it. I can't get down with putting something that smells like hairspray on my face.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - Colorstay Pressed Powder with SoftFlex
DecoDolly 4/11/2013 1:05:00 PM
This powder really surprised me. I ended up crashing in my mom's hotel room one night when she came to visit, and I had to get up for work the next morning, but I didn't have my makeup bag with me. I used my Nyx concealer in a jar and this. I have not so great skin, there's not a lot of active acne anymore, but I have a lot of redness and marks. I was really amazed with how good this looked with no foundation. I used it for the next few days and had no issues at all. Then I used a liquid foundation, and immediately broke out! Back to this with concealer, and again, no problems. I'm out of my HG Alima minerals, but this is cheaper and does a great job, so I will continue to use it! PROS: Good coverage Works great without (or as) foundation Keeps me shine free most of the day Easy to touch up if needed Doesn't break me out Doesn't break up with oil or flake throughout the day like most things do on my skin Doesn't look cakey Transluscent shade works for my super pale skin Looks like skin/really natural CONS: No SS, although that might be why it doesn't break me out! Could be a little cheaper for a drugstore product You do have to use a bit to get good coverage. PS I use a brush to apply it, not the puff.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Splat! long lasting hair color in Lusty Lavender
DecoDolly 4/5/2013 8:31:00 PM
UPDATE 2: Well, I sadly had to take off a lippie again because this fades very splotchy and unevenly. It turns fuchsia, which is fine, but it also completely comes out of some spots, so I now have a big stripe across the back of my head that is totally blonde, while the top of my hair is still purple and the rest is fuchsia. I have washed it a total of 3 or 4 times. Will not repurchase. There are much better brands out there that you can buy online if you can't find them in a store nearby. UPDATE: Although I still stand behind my original review below (it's messy, stains horribly, and isn't at all true to box color), I have to up the lippies simply because the color it gave me is so vibrant and shiny and insane. If you want the color on the box, don't use this, OR do NOT bleach your hair first. I actually, strangely enough, ran into a woman at the post office today who had used the same color but on dark brown hair that was not bleached. On her, it looked much closer to the box color. However, if you want shiny, crazy, neon, purple hair that looks like one of Katy Perry's wigs, then definitely use this over bleached hair! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've used pretty much all of the "crazy hair color" brands, and this is one of my least favorites. I only bought it because I was dyeing my hair on Easter and only the drugstores were open. First of all, it's extremely messy. Now I know why they call it "Splat!"! It drips and splatters all over everything! It also stains worse than any other dye I've ever used. Finally, it's not at all true to the color on the box. The photo makes it look like it's a silvery purple. Not at all. It has a LOT of pink in it. In fact, I diluted it with conditioner, hoping to get lavender, and I ended up with baby pink. I tried again with less conditioner and got fuchsia. Finally I went full strength with it, and got an extremely bright, almost neon, pinkish purple. BTW, my hair was bleached already. I did not use the bleach included, so I can't comment on that.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner
DecoDolly 3/25/2013 7:48:00 PM
I'm a big liquid liner wearer with giant but somewhat deep-set eyes. My liner sometimes wears off right in the outer corner, which drives me nuts. I thought that if I got one that was waterproof, it might fix that problem. With this, I got a whole new set of problems. 1st of all it's super sticky and stays sticky all day. It actually made it difficult to blink, because literally, it made my eyelid stick to the bone above my eye, somehow. 2nd, and worse, it transfers onto the bone above my eye. And it keeps transferring. It never stops. I kept rubbing it off and 5 minutes later, I would would have a big black streak up there again! I do not have oily lids, btw. 3rd it's impossible to wash off, even with eye makeup remover or vaseline. Not even worth the $2.99 I paid for it.

Mascara -Rimmel - Volumeflash scandaleyes
DecoDolly 3/2/2013 11:30:00 PM
This review is for the waterproof version (not sure if there's a non-wp version, but just wanted to clarify). I bought this on a whim, when I knew that I would be crying later. It is waterproof, I'll give it that, but that's all it's got going for it. I have naturally very long, curled, blonde lashes. It's very easy for me to get a faux lash look with most mascaras, as long as they're black. Not with this one, though. It weighed my lashes down and straightened them out. I've never ever had that happen before! Never had a mascara give me droopy lashes, ever, but this one did, and then some! Into the trash it goes.

Toners -DDF - Glycolic Toner 10%
DecoDolly 2/27/2013 8:44:00 PM
I feel as though I've given this product ample chances. I've tried it 3 times, for about a week each time (spaced out many months in between). The first 2 times, I kept waking up with new, very large, breakouts. Decided to give it one more chance since I'm clear now thanks to the right (for me) BCP. I've been using it every other night. My skin feels clogged, dehydrated, and extremely rough, and I have gotten a few pimples. Nothing has ever made the texture of my skin feel so... icky... for lack of a better word. BTW my skin tolerates tretinoin and TCA, Jessner, and Mandelic peels, so I don't know what it is about this toner, but it obviously just doesn't work with my skin, unfortunately.

Foundations -New York Color - Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup
DecoDolly 2/7/2013 12:57:00 AM
This stuff was such a pleasant surprise. I bought it in the middle of the night, at Walmart, because we had an unexpected overnight stay and I had nothing with me. I just grabbed the cheapest of everything I could find. Like I said, this foundation really surprised me. The coverage is fantastic, it applies easily with the fingers (thank goodness, because I didn't have anything with me!), and it looks really smooth and lovely all day long. The problem is, it's just way too dark for me. In the bottle, it actually looked like it would be pale enough, but sadly, not even close. It's so smooth and has such great coverage (and it's so cheap!) that I so wish that this could be my new every day foundation, but I'll have to stick to my one and only color match, Alima Neutral 0. Sigh.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Fast Dry Nail Color - Sagreena The Teenage Witch
DecoDolly 12/23/2012 7:51:00 PM
I almost took this back, untried, based on the reviews. Glad I didn't! Yes, it's thin, but I got it opaque in 2 coats. The color is a beautiful emerald green. Is it quick dry? Not really. But for $2 and such a pretty color, I'm happy.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
DecoDolly 12/9/2012 3:03:00 AM
I received a sample of this mascara from Sephora, and I have to say, I'm really glad I didn't buy it. I have naturally very long lashes that are almost white blonde, so what I need from mascara is something that will make my lashes black and just a teensy bit fuller. That's it. I'm not lookin' for a miracle. This mascara did neither of those things. It did practically nothing. All I could think after I applied it was "boring". It also flakes really badly. I was picking black flakes off my face the next morning, even after removing my eye makeup with oil and a cleanser. Never had that happen before.

Concealers -NYX - Full Coverage Concealer Jar
DecoDolly 11/16/2012 12:15:00 AM
I haven't been using this for very long, but so far, I love it! I have very fair, neutral, acne-prone skin that gets dry patches from using topicals. I've tried pretty much every concealer out there and had never found one light enough for me. For about a year now, I've been mixing the lightest shade in various brands with pure white to get a light enough shade. Unfortunately, I've been finding everything to be too dry and hard to blend. This NYX concealer is not only creamy and easily blendable, with good coverage, the lightest shade is perfect for me!!!! UPDATE: 2/26/13 This concealer has become HG status for me. Love it.

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion
DecoDolly 11/12/2012 1:08:00 AM
Unfortunately, this just doesn't cut it as a hand lotion for me. I wash my hands a lot, so I need something that's going to last. I feel like I have to apply this every hour, and my hands seem to be even dryer than when I'm not using anything at all. Plus it smells quite plasticky.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
DecoDolly 11/10/2012 1:37:00 AM
If you have TRULY FAIR skin, don't bother. I keep trying to make this work because I love how it looks and feels and the staying power, but as usual, the lightest color is much much too dark for me. It doesn't oxidize like the regular Colorstay, so that's a plus, but it's too dark and way too pink for my fair, neutral skin. I give up. :(

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder SPF 30
DecoDolly 10/29/2012 4:45:00 PM
I really wanted to love this. I love that it has SPF 30 (that's the reason I bought it), and it did make my skin look smoother and it covered quite well. Unfortunately, the so-called "Translucent" shade is WAY too dark for me. Not a little bit too dark. WAY too dark. Now I'm stuck lookin' crazy for the rest of the day. If you have truly fair skin, sadly, this probably just isn't going to work for you. Don't be fooled by the name, translucent it is not!

Lips -NYX - Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo
DecoDolly 10/26/2012 11:46:00 PM
I have to agree with theminx's review below. The difference is, I'm extremely fair skinned (Neutral 0 in Alima), and this turns fuchsia on me, as well.
