Lipstick -FLOWER Beauty - So Gladiola
rated 3 of 5

I was so excited to try this new line. I was looking for a new lipstick in a warm pink and chose this by looking at the little swatch on the tube. Unfortunately, like others have mentioned below, it's a bright coral. If you're looking for coral, you might be happy with this, but it is definitely not what I wanted. The packaging is gorgeous though, albeit bulky, and the price is right, so I might try to exchange it for something else in this line. I might try the cream blush, because with that I can see the actual color.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Charcoal Brown
rated 4 of 5

Charcoal brown is a cool medium/dark brown. On my fair skin, it looks dark, but it's very natural-looking. I use it as a crease color or a powder eyeliner. It's a bit too dark for my brows, but I can see how it would work for that. It blends nicely and is a great staple.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Matte shadow
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/25/2012 10:54:00 PM

This is a great soft brown. Whether it looks "naked" or not depends on your skin tone. For my fair skin, it makes a great wash of color for a "no makeup makeup" look. On days when I want to do a more complicated eye design, it makes a great base color. The thing I like best about this shadow is the texture. It's soft and buttery and applies like a dream. I have it in the old formula, so I don't know about the new formula. I will say that if you're looking for a less expensive version, Physicians Formula makes an eyeshadow quad called "Canyon Classics" and there's a shade in that quad that's very close, in terms of color and texture. Much less expensive and you get four shadows.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Wild Rose
rated 3 of 5
Deanna2 6/21/2012 12:35:00 AM

This is a beautiful deep berry rose glossy lip color. The color may look scary in the jar but it's very sheer and you can really control the intensity by how little/much you apply. It stays on my lips a reasonable amount of time for a lip butter -- longer than the Revlon Lip Butters did on me. My only complaint with this product is lack of convenience/portability. I use a lip brush to apply this because I don't like my fingers to get product on them and I would need a mirror to apply, so it's just not a product I can apply on the go. I might, however, purchase the lip glaze, which looks to be the same product in a tube.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Omega
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/19/2012 6:45:00 AM

This is my favorite MAC eyeshadow. It is a matte light taupe and it strikes a nice balance between light brown and gray. I like to use this as a base for other colors or for just wash of color on days when I don't want to fuss with a complicated eye design. I also use it as a brow color, which works great on my dark brown brows. My only wish is that the formula was a Matte 2. Don't get me wrong; the formula isn't bad on this. But I just love the buttery texture and blending ease of the Matte2s.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Copperplate
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/19/2012 6:33:00 AM

Copperplate is a warm taupey gray with a hint of lavender. It's a very versatile color and can be worn in so many ways. Applied lightly, it can be a wash of color or it can be a great crease color. Applied heavier, it's a great powder liner. Like other reviewers, I have used it for my brows, but I have to use a light touch for this. The formula is a Matte2, which means the texture is superb and blending is a breeze. This is one of my favorite MAC eyeshadows.

Blush -Cargo - Mallorca
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/18/2012 4:40:00 PM

I love Cargo blushes and have several. The quality and texture are just outstanding. Mallorca is an deep, intense rose pink, bordering on berry. It is matte, but because you only need to apply a small amount, it is not at all chalky. On my fair skin, it looks like I've just come in out of the cold, but I could see this looking beautiful on medium or deep skin tones too. You control the intensity by the amount you apply. To apply, I swipe my brush across the color very lightly, use the lid to swirl the brush and then tap off any excess (just like Leslie Blodgett taught us to apply Bare Minerals). This will last me a very long time because I only need such a tiny bit. The lasting power is good and the big pans make it easy to get an even distribution of color on your brush. I love the tins because they're not plastic. Some have said they have difficulty with the lids. I don't store my makeup in the bathroom, so I wonder if that accounts for my never having this problem. This shade is still available on the Cargo website.

Blush -Cargo - Catalina
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/18/2012 3:01:00 PM

I love Cargo blushes and have several. The quality and texture are just outstanding. Catalina is a bright bubble-gum pink in the pan. It looks much softer on the skin. It is a nice matte pink and looks natural when applied lightly. I don't know if I would purchase this particular color again, because it seems like many lines have this shade. However, the lasting power is good and the big pans make it easy to get an even distribution of color on your brush. I love the tins because they're not plastic. Some have said they have difficulty with the lids. I don't store my makeup in the bathroom, so I wonder if that accounts for my not having this problem.

Blush -Cargo - Prague
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/18/2012 2:54:00 PM

I love Cargo blushes and have several. The quality and texture are just outstanding. Prague is a very soft, muted beige-brown with a plum tone. It's a very unique color and difficult to describe. This matte blush is probably best on fair and light skin tones. I don't know if I would purchase this color again, as it's a little too brown for my taste. It does make a good base color though - I put it all over the cheek area and then add a brighter pop of color on the apples of my cheeks. The lasting power is good and the big pans make it easy to get an even distribution of color on your brush. I love the tins because they're not plastic. Some have said they have difficulty with the lids. I don't store my makeup in the bathroom, so I wonder if that accounts for my not having this problem.

Blush -Cargo - Tonga
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/18/2012 2:51:00 PM

I love Cargo blushes and have several. The quality and texture are just outstanding. Tonga is a soft, muted, warm rose. This matte blush looks great on fair and light skin tones. It would be great for any makeup look, but I especially like it for "no-makeup makeup" looks or for a Saturday face. I also like it as a base blush and then I add a pop of brighter color on the apples of my cheeks. The lasting power is good and the big pans make it easy to get an even distribution of color on your brush. I love the tins because they're not plastic. Some have said they have difficulty with the lids. I don't store my makeup in the bathroom, so I wonder if that accounts for my not having this problem. EDIT: I love pairing this with NARS Dolce Vita lipstick.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Lip Color - Italian Rose
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/4/2012 3:06:00 PM

I've been a bad MUAer by not reviewing this sooner, since it's my HG lipcolor. I absolutely love the color of this -- it's a MLBB color, but unlike other shades like this, it doesn't wash me out. The color is rose with a hint of berry. It's on the cool side but has a kiss of warmth to it. It may look a bit scary in the tube, but the coverage is on the sheer side, which adds to the natural look of it. It can be applied heavily for more color, but I like a light coat. I would say this color suits light to medium tones. It might suit darker tones if applied generously, but I would recommend trying it first. As to the formula, this is slightly glossy on my lips but it's definitely not a lipgloss. It just gives an attractive sheen. It's not as long-lasting as I would like, but it fades nicely. It's so natural-looking on me that sometimes the only way I can tell if it's all gone is that my lips feel dry. I have bought several tubes of this & will continue to do so, unless I find a similar color that is longer lasting.

Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis - Peridot
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 6/2/2012 9:52:00 AM

This color is a little out of my comfort zone, but it is so complex that I love it. It's mostly green, with strong tones of gold and a hint of bronze and blue. You really have to see it in the light to appreciate it. I've never had a problem with it chipping. I use Nailtiques base coat, then a coat of Gelous, 2 coats of color and my top coat is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in the red bottle. Works for me.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie
rated 3 of 5
Deanna2 3/7/2012 10:49:00 PM

After hearing about this over and over on MUB, I decided to try one. I don't think this is a true berry; to my eye, it's more like a rosy pink. It's quite sheer, though, so even though it's not true to it's name, it's still very wearable. It has a bit of shimmer in the tube, but it's not visible on my lips. I can't perceive any scent or flavor, for which I'm very grateful and it feels very comfortable. For me, the biggest disadvantage to this lip butter is that the color is not very long lasting. Even if I'm not eating or drinking, it doesn't last for more than an hour. I might try other shades to see if they might last longer, but I probably won't buy this shade again.

Crème -Cover Girl - AquaSmooth SPF15 Make-up
rated 5 of 5
Deanna2 2/14/2012 3:57:00 AM

I bought this foundation when my usual foundation (Paula's Choice All Bases Covered) was out of stock. The texture is silky and creamy in the pan, it blends into the skin very nicely and dries to a satiny finish. Because the texture is so soft and creamy, I found it easy to overdo, which will make any foundation look cakey. But once I applied it more sparingly, it blended out very nicely. I have this in Ivory (705), which is a great shade. It's light enough for fair skin and it's very neutral - not pink or peach. It's tricky to pick out the right shade because of the packaging, so I went by the other foundations in clear jars. And speaking of the packaging, it is unnecessarily bulky, so I depotted mine. It's best to wear a moisturizer under this if you have dry or flakey skin, because this will emphasize it. I like the fact that it has a physical sunscreen in it to augment my sunscreen. All in all, it's a great value.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe
rated 4 of 5
Deanna2 2/14/2012 3:40:00 AM

This shadow reminds me so much of Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow in "Slate." It applies and blends nicely and wears beautifully. It can be worn on it's own or used as a base for other shadows. It can also be used as a subtle eyeliner. It looks to have a very fine shimmer in the jar, but I could not detect any on the skin and I'm a shimmer-phobe. The reason I took a lippie off is because the color does not match the name. It looks like taupe in the jar but on my skin, it is grey. Grey is a great color on some, but it looks muddy on me. I wish they had either a true taupe or a soft brown (without glitter). But, if you like grey, the quality of this shadow is great and it really is a drugstore steal.
