Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray
Daisy1012 3/6/2011 11:07:00 AM
I use dry shampoo at least twice a week. I've tried and hated the Tresemme, made my hair feel sticky and yes I was using it correctly. My old fave was Batiste but Suave is better for my hair in every way. It seems more effective at battling the oilies even into the next day. It gives great volume and seems I don't have to worry so much about combing out the white stuff. I spray it on my roots then sort of rub it in with my palms to warm it up a little. Love this stuff!! The scent is strong though and might be to much for anyone scent sensitive...I love it though, nice and tropically.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
Daisy1012 6/4/2010 11:53:00 AM
I actually have dry skin but went with the oily skin version because the color seemed a much better match...for some reason the buff in the dry skin formula seemed way too pink. I do apply a moisturizer and leave it just a bit sticky when I apply this foundation with a brush which I think helps the application because it does dry quick! When I first used it, I used waaaayyy too much and it ended up looking pretty cakey but the next few times I cut back on the amount and still got great, natural looking coverage. This stuff rocks at covering my redness and evening out my skin tone and it has yet to crease or pool in my fine lines. Yesterday I wore this stuff all day at work then carried on into the late evening at my son's baseball game and couldn't believe that it was still there when I went to remove it at bedtime. I use Johnson & Johnson babywash to remove it which works like a charm. No breakouts either, so far so good. Not sure what this will be like for winter when my skin is uber dry but for now, it will definitely be my summertime staple.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Fresh Start Dry Shampoo for Oily/Straight to Normal Hair
Daisy1012 4/12/2010 6:03:00 PM
I've used Batiste and Pssst with success so I figured this couldn't be too bad and I had a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket so figured what the heck...can't be all that bad. Wrong! This stuff made my 2nd day oily, fine, medium hair far worse than if I had just left it alone. It started out okay, followed directions, brushed it out and thought it might be okay but things went downhill fast. It's hard to explain but it actually made my hair feel kind of sticky and it all stuck together in a big clump and brushing through it was all but impossible by the end of the day. I followed the directions and even gave this several tries with the same results...just icky. I'll stick to Batiste.

I have fine, medium hair that is easily tangled and weighed down and gets pretty dang greasy after just one day. But with this stuff, my hair is left feeling light and bouncy and not as oily the next day. I use it with the matching conditioner and I'm having some seriously good hair-days. I have been using it for over a month and have not had a problem with dryness. I have not used a shampoo I've liked as much in a very long time. Love it!

Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM
Daisy1012 3/23/2010 12:36:00 PM
Well I should've known better....just like the cream and lotion, this stuff broke me out and I'm not particularly acne prone. I was hoping the niacinimide would help combat the breakouts that I got with the lotion and cream...fail. It also did not help my skin tone nor was it very moisturizing. I did like the feel though and gave it a fair shot but am paying for it now with bumps and breakouts.

Yep it's sweet but I find it also very warm and cozy in the dry down...a very comforting and snuggly scent. I LOVE it and it's helping me get through this nasty winter. My kids say I smell like candy and I think they mean that as a compliment. ;) I have the cologne spray and the body spray and between the two of them I find the lasting power is great.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
Daisy1012 12/18/2009 11:53:00 AM
This product reminds me a lot of Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind but with a more matte finish and lots more sparkles. For those of you who don't see the sparkles yet..head outside on a sunny day with a mirror and you'll be shocked...it's sparkly. For me and my 30 something dry winter skin, this product is just okay...it does highlight dry spots which I can live with but I just can't get over the disco ball look it gives in natural light. I'll probably use it for evenings out. Won't be repurchasing.

With my chemistry this starts and ends and a warm summery coconut smell...perfect for summer and was exactly what I was looking for. I sprayed it on this morning and 8 hours later I can still catch a whiff of it. Will be great for a mid-March pick me up.

Masks -Freeman - Goodstuff Organics Revitalizing Face mask
Daisy1012 7/31/2009 11:25:00 AM
Take this for what it's worth cause I don't usually use masks, I find them to be drying or just not effective but I absolutely love this and is the best mask I have used. I definitely see a temporary tightening effect, lessening of my fine lines, smoothing of small bumps and an even tone overall. Very happy with this and will continue to buy. p.s. I have dry somewhat sensitive but mostly normal skin.

Another example of YMMV...on me this stung like a mofo and completely balled up...I tried multiple times to use this and ended up washing it off each time. I don't have particularly sensitive skin so not sure what it was about this but I'm sticking to my beloved Eucerin SPF 30 that has never let me down.

Masks -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Papaya Enzyme Facial Mask
Daisy1012 5/7/2009 4:09:00 PM
This helps keep my skin clear, bright and smooth. It also cuts way down on my ruddiness and evens my skin tone very nicely. I'm almost to the point of not needing a foundation. I do leave this on for at least 20 minutes and haven't had any adverse reactions in doing so. I'm typically not very sensitive but very dry and exceptionally prone to ruddiness. I always make sure I use a night cream after I've done the mask and wear a 30 spf during the day. Would I buy this again??? YES I don't ever want to be without it!

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Jessica - Custom Nail Colour
Daisy1012 4/24/2009 2:50:00 PM
I love this polish, I have several colors from sheer to sparkly dark purple and none of them have failed me. The best part of this polish is the application is smooth and only takes two coats at most to get a smooth even finish...the price is great too. They are not quick drying but I always use a quick dry top coat. The wear is great too with the right top coat...love this stuff!

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy Airbrush Spray Makeup
Daisy1012 3/12/2009 6:05:00 PM
This is a very light foundation but can be built up for more coverage...the problem I found with that is the lightest shade is very yellow, the more I tried to build it up the more yellow I turned. I'm sticking with the old Sally Hansen spay foundation in beach beige (lightest shade, weird).

Finally I've found some help for my poor peeling nails! I've tried too many to count so called solutions for my peeling nails and this is the only one that has worked. It dries super fast, doesn't peel (I have the original formula) and is very shiny. I used it for a week and filed down the existing peelies and my nails are back to looking great. The price is great since you get a giant bottle. This will forever be in my stash.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - JR Liggett's Old Fashioned Bar Shampoo
Daisy1012 3/4/2009 11:39:00 AM
Oddly enough I really like this shampoo bar even though it leaves my hair very tangled...so I use a conditioner and my tangles slip out and my shoulder length fine hair is left feeling sooo super soft especially once it's dry. I'm left with light, bouncy hair and I love the way it feels so I keep going back to this bar. For me, it rinses out completely and quickly. It is a completely different experience with this bar than regular shampoo and it's hard to explain but I'm lovin it!
