Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)

Finally! After literally years of hunting I've found a foundation that matches my skin as close as possible! I don't think it's possible to ever match colours perfectly, but this one is as close as. Unlike most foundations it doesn't appear pink, orange or brown on me, and doesn't oxidise either. My skin is incredibly pale, and shade 1C Shell 15 is the match for me! To get my base looking it's best I exfoliate, mouisturise, use Laura Merciers Oil Free Primer, put on my Double Wear and then dab on Benefit's Get Even in 01. This keeps my base pretty much flawless almost all day. I might need to dab a little powder here and there at some points, or if I've been particularly active I may need to dab a little more foundation over scars and blemishes, then re-powder, but it's the best combination of products I've found for myself, and being so pale with oily, acne prone skin with scars, my skin is very picky!

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Get Even #1
rated 4 of 5

This powder is fantastic for my pale, acne prone, oily skin, which completely surprised me as I've never had much luck with Benefit products (colour, consistency, staying power, everything!) and this was a complete impulse buy when I was feeling rich! I've always been rather unlucky when it comes to finding matching shades when it comes to foundations and powders, as my skin is so pale, most look either pink or orange, but this is absolutely spot on. The packaging is fantastic, and the sponge is really durable. I've found it's much better to dab the powder on rather than stroke it on, and it lasts for so long, it's fantastic and it hasn't broken me out or anything. I've taken a lippie off because it's pretty expensive, but Benefit is, and this product is worth it!

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer Oil -Free
rated 4 of 5

My makeup artist friend put me onto this primer and I am SO glad she did. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (1C1 Shell 15) and was having trouble with it staying put. It would start to shine after an hour or so and would easily come off, but the colour match and coverage are pretty much perfect, after hunting high and low for years, so I didn't want to change foundations. I've used this primer several times, and have found it's best applied when my face has been exfoliated within the last few days, and has been moisturised about half an hour before. Whilst this primer is pretty expensive, a little bit really does goes a long way, and it feel so light and silky smooth, not heavy and sticky like others I've tried, it really melts into my skin beautifully. I wait about 10-15 minutes before I put my foundation on, and then once the foundation is on I blot powder over the top with Benefit's Get Even in 01. This keeps my face even, matt and covers nearly all my acne and scars (I have a few that not even paint would cover!) I took 1 lippie off the rating because my foundation still doesn't last ALL DAY, but I don't think any product will, and I also took 1 off for the price, as it is rather expensive, although worth it. I'm completely sold on this primer, and will continue to buy it as long as they make it!

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
rated 3 of 5

I have really acne prone skin, although it's not so bad lately. I hunted high and low for a foundation that would cover my acne and scars and this definitely won. The coverage is medium but can be built up to full and it's great for oily skin. I always found it transferred onto clothing though, if I gave someone a hug they would have foundation marks on their shoulder! It didn't last too long either, I can look in the mirror a few hours after applying it and all my blemishes would be showing through, but it was still the best foundation I could find. The main reason I have stopped using this foundation is because the colour really doesn't match me, I have very pale skin, and even their palest shade is too dark, but this is a problem I have with every foundation I've tried.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Waterproof
rated 5 of 5

This is most definitely my HG mascara. I love it to pieces! I used to go round buying all the new mascaras whenever they came out as I was always on the look out for a mascara that would give my thick but light blonde eyelashes definition without dragging them down. I used to use a Rimmel mascara, but when I was around 19 I ran out and bought this one as it was the cheapest on in Boots, and damn am I glad I did! I don't think I've ever actually bought a different type since and it's now 4 years later. As I said, my eyelashes are thick and long already, but I am a natural blonde so they are very pale, and without mascara I just look like an alien. As my lashes are so long, most mascaras are too heavy and drag them down and clog them up, but this one really doesn't. I spend a while curling my lashes, and then apply a coat of this on my upper and lower lashes and it's ready to go! The definition is fantastic, every lash is seperated with no clumps. As the other reviewer said, if you just just the wand to the end of your lashes it will add instant length! It's incredible. This mascara is fantastic for both day time and evening looks. One coat is perfect for during the day, and then another coat and some touches to the ends makes it perfect for a night out. They staying power is amazing too, it doesn't flake, disappear or drop down. The waterproof aspect of it is the best I've ever seen, I've been swimming whilst wearing several coats of this mascara and it didn't run. There were girls in the pool nearby that were discussing how they thought I got my mascara to stay! I recommend that everyone buys this, it's awesome.
