Fragrances -Chanel - Chance
rated 2 of 5

This is imho one very boring and bland fragrance. Or maybe it became boring because everybody, and I mean everybody around wears it! To me it is like a watered down version of Coco Mademoiselle. Which means - no originality at all. Oh, and the other thing - it smells chemical from the beginning to the end. At least to me. Well, maybe it is me. I have never been a fan of Chanel fragrances (except the gorgeous Chanel 19).

Fragrances -Guerlain - Vol De Nuit Evasion
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 4/23/2008 2:51:00 PM

I had to go to Paris to get this fragrance. So I did. Being the biggest fan of the original Vol de Nuit, I just couldn't bear the idea of not having this version. Vol De Nuit Evasion is not like the classic Vol de Nuit. It's more "in your face", more bold. I do wear Vol de Nuit in EDT and pure perfume, so I dare to say that Vol De Nuit Evasion has some similarity to the pure perfume. Vol De Nuit Evasion is one new Guerlain which smells like one from before. From everything created by the house of Guerlain after Chamade, this one I think is the most old-fasioned fragrance. The Guerlinade accord is there, and though the ingredients are not the same as in Vol de Nuit, both fragrances share the same mood. Vol De Nuit Evasion is a blast from the past, and a very good one. It's in the line of Mitsouko and L'Heure Bleue, so nostalgic that's almost unbearable. It will not repalse the classic "flight" in my heart, but it will be right there next to it.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - S.T. Dupont
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 4/12/2008 3:15:00 AM

I guess here is a misunderstanding about which fragrance is rated. My revieuw is NOT for "Signature", but for the original S.T. Dupont. This is a classic, beautiful balanced chypre with style and elegance of the "old school" fragrances. Non of the notes is coming out, everything is in a perfect harony. S.T. Dupont smells expensive and is definitely a grown-up fragrance for all seasons and (almost) all occasions.

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
rated 2 of 5
Dahlia 12/7/2007 2:28:00 PM

Most of the time the aim of the big companys is to make a cheap perfume smelling expensive. Flowerbomb is the oposite - L'Oreal managed to make an expensive perfume smelling cheap. Flowerbomb is for me one of the far too much sweet, with no-depth and no concept fragrances out there, which ows its fame only to the fact that the letters V&R stay behind it, and of course to the gorgeous ads. Victor & Rolf are famous for their innnovation, daring and the originality of their designs. Unfornately in their perfume can't be detected any of this.

Fragrances -Christian Lacroix - Bazar pour femme
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 7/18/2007 2:03:00 PM

I don't understand why this fragrance has got such a bad revieuws. It's a cheerful, summer fragrance which can put smile on your face. Instantly. It reminds me a lot of YSL In love again, but there is a bit less grapefruit and more apple in Bazar. It's not very complicated, but it't very light and easy to wear fragrance.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Shalimar
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 12/25/2006 6:37:00 AM

This revieuw is on the Shalimar pure perfume. Laurely has written it already - the pure perfume shows the true soul of this fragrance. It's so heavenly and deep, there is just nothing in it which is too much or too less. The balance is perfect. A couple of drops are enough. Every time I wear it, I (re)discover another side of Shalimar. And I agree totally with what the saleswoman at the Guerlain counter told - "people are buying the EDT and expect miracles. Well, the true work of art is in this little deco bottle, here is the real Shalimar".

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Alien
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 12/21/2006 12:52:00 PM

A lovley perfume, gorgeous bottle, strange name. I fell inlove with Alien from the first sniff. It is different and very atractive for me, it's dark and misterious.

Fragrances -Agent Provocateur - Agent Provocateur EDP
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 11/4/2006 3:20:00 PM

This was for me love from a first sniff. Something in it makes me feel very in control, sexy and seductive. Only one other fragrance makes me feel this way - Vivienne Westwood's Boudoir. Though both fragrances are very different, they are both very distinctive, complicated, lovely and ...adult:-)

Nothing special, smells like Sui Love (the butterfly bottle), and it's boring.

Fragrances -Nina Ricci - Nina (New)
rated 1 of 5
Dahlia 9/16/2006 12:27:00 PM

This fragrance is terrible! It's just like a zillion other sweet, sticky, tacky creations which keep on koming on the market each year. The bottle, though, is lovely!

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - L'Eau d'Issey
rated 1 of 5
Dahlia 6/20/2006 1:39:00 PM

This is one of the fragrances I can't stand the most (the other one is D&G Light Blue...) It smells boring, cheap and plastic. I understand that it's love or hate-type of fragrance, but to me is definitely the hate-part. Maybe when it came out it has been original, but meanwhile there are so much similar perfumes on the market, that now it's not worth the money (anymore).

Fragrances -Alexander McQueen - Kingdom
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 6/17/2006 1:20:00 PM

This fragrance, as so much before me have written, is not for everyone. I love YSL NU, which is my winter signature fragrance, and I do like DK Black cashmire too. So it was logical I would love Kingdom. Infact, I adore it. It's dark, pepery, and yes, there is in some fase this sweat note, but you know what? Sweat could smell sexy, especially if it smells the way it does in Kingdom. I am not somebody who likes all his perfumes to smell like roses and flowers, and soap, and fresh. The same way some people said that they could run to sweat and then will smell like Kingdom, I can say - yea, I can wash myself with LUX soap, stick a bunch of lilacs and roses in my pockets and voila, the Flowerperfume! But well, it's both ways much more than that. Kingdom is for people who dare to be different, and to stand out of the crowd. Wearing this fragrance you will be noticed, no matter what:-)

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Dune EDT
rated 4 of 5
Dahlia 5/25/2006 12:57:00 PM

I have to admit I have been unfair to Dune. It's my first "real" fragrance ever and therefore it will always take a special place in my heart:-) However, Dune is a strange one. It's strong, but well blended. It's sharp, but with mellow ends. I didn't wear it for years, till yesterday - it was more than 30 degrees Celsius, hot and heavy weather, and I couldn't bear the idea of puting on any fragrance at all. Strangely, I reached for Dune (of all the perfumes), and later in the afternoon I realised why on first place I loved Dune so much -it was the Summer in a bottle - with its breeze, the hot stones of the buildings, the fresh perfume of a man walking bfore me, the leaves of the trees on the streets, the heat in the car when I step in. This all in one. Maybe it's a sentiment, but I am inlove with Dune again!

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Eternity for Women
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 5/12/2006 11:58:00 AM

One of my all time favorite fragrances! It's very well blended, nothing is too much, the perfection itself. For me Eternity is summer morning, drinking cofe outside, walking sunny streets of a big city.

Fragrances -Cartier - Delices
rated 5 of 5
Dahlia 4/30/2006 5:56:00 AM

Well, this is a change! About two months ago I gave one lippie to this fragrance. Now I am changing it in 5, all of them - deserved. I just bought a bottle of Delices, and I am totally inlove. Yes, it's sweet in the beginning, but in compearance with so many other modern fragrances is not even half as sweet. And it's very elegant, very feminine. I guess more of the people who gave a bad review on this one tryed it when the weather was still too hot, just as I did. Please, try it on a cold rainy day, and then you will see the true beauty of Delices!
