Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - Razala
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 12/21/2011 2:28:00 PM

I love Razala - it's so addictive and intoxicating. My review is based on a sample of the oil and a couple of drops of the oil has lasted all day. I can't stop smelling my wrists and for sure, I would love to be the owner of a bottle. It's complex, warm, earthy, resinous....everything I like in a perfume.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Water Proof Eye Liner in Moray
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 12/3/2011 12:51:00 PM

I am in love with this eyeliner. I'm NC40 asian and this eyeliner has been my go-to for the past year. The gold glitter is very subtle and the olive-green color is beautiful. Moray goes perfectly with a variety of different eyeshadow colors. I'm so happy with this eyeliner that I sprang for another smudge-stick in lionfish (wanted to try a different color). It's for sure expensive but I've tried so many crap eyeliners in the past that I'm willing to pay a little extra for the smudge stick. I really don't think I'll try a different type of eyeliner for awhile, will probably just try the different colors in the smudge stick range. I would for sure purchase Moray again and again.

Fragrances -Andy Tauer - Pentachord Verdant
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 12/2/2011 1:28:00 PM

Oh my gosh, what's with all of the bad reviews? Pentachord Verdant is my first try of the Tauer creations and I just love it! My review is based on a sample given to me from a fellow perfumista and I thoroughly enjoyed wearing this fragrance. Yes, a little goes a long way and it's very long lasting. I get alternating wafts of spearmint, forest greens, and a lovely sweetness. I for sure would like a FB.

Fragrances -Keiko Mecheri - Datura Blanche
rated 3 of 5
Dagney 10/20/2011 11:56:00 AM

Datura Blanche opens sweet...I smell vanilla and a light tuberose. The fragrance gets sweeter as it develops drying down to a marshmallowy floral. I actually like both tuberose and gourmands so Datura Blanche smells quite nice to me. Not sure if it's full bottle worthy but definitely worth a test if you like sweeter fragrances.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Ineke - Gilded Lily
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 1/14/2011 4:15:00 PM

Notes per Ineke website: Top - Pineapple, Grapefruit, Rhubarb, Elemi, Middle - Goldband Lily of Japan, Base - Patchouli, Oakmoss, Labdamum. Gilded Lily opens with the fruity notes (I get mostly pineapple) with the fruitness lasting throughout the life of the fragrance. The fruit is not overly sweet and the chypre base is quite light so it's more of a modern chypre (unlike the strong classic fruity chypres). To me, the lily is hard to smell but it's definitely there. Very beautiful fragrance and I would love a full bottle.

Fragrances -Etat Libre D'Orange - Vraie Blonde
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 1/7/2011 12:08:00 PM

Vrais Blonde is a delightful fragrance that opens with aldehydes that evoke the sparkling quality of champagne. Slightly peachy but not overly sweet, this fragrance wears quite close to the skin. It's not a bombshell of a fragrance to me but rather light-hearted and effervescent. I haven't smelled anything else like it and it's quite the pleasure to wear.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Ineke - Field Notes From Paris
rated 4 of 5
Dagney 9/6/2010 12:35:00 PM

I'm testing Field Notes From Paris from a sample vial and I definitely need a full bottle of this. A perfect fragrance for cooler weather, it's refreshingly unique and at the same time smells delicious. Slightly spicy with a touch of sweetness, herbaceous and resinous. Well blended but I smell different notes each time I get a waft of fragrance. Love it.

Fragrances -Keiko Mecheri - Paname
rated 4 of 5
Dagney 9/1/2010 1:00:00 PM

I like Keiko Mecheri Paname quite a bit. It's a lovely fragrance for fall - spicy, but slightly sweet (because of the ambre I think), combined with the scent of anise/black licorice. It's a delicious, easy to wear scent that's paired perfectly with some fashionable fall clothing. I would repurchase.

Fragrances -Fresh - Hesperides
rated 1 of 5
Dagney 8/17/2010 11:23:00 AM

This review is for the edt. Fresh Hesperides is a must try for any citrus lover. Bright, uplifting, and refreshing grapefruit scent that's perfect for warmer weather. Quite linear so it's perfect for days when you're looking for something uncomplicated. Great fragrance to wear to the office as well, I can't imagine Hesperides being offensive to anyone. I would for sure repurchase. Edit 2011: After wearing Hesperides a few times during the summer, I ended up giving my bottle away. Like one of the reviewers below mentioned, this smells exactly like the cleaner Scrubbing Bubbles. I can't stand it.

Fragrances -Keiko Mecheri - Grenats
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 8/15/2010 12:08:00 PM

The more I wear KM Grenades, the more I like it. It's a sophisticated fruity-floral. The notes are quite well blended but I smell predominantly pomegranate and rose. Smells feminine and classy without being strong or powdery. Lovely for spring or summer and I would definitely repurchase.

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Lime Basil Mandarin
rated 3 of 5
Dagney 7/29/2010 1:17:00 PM

Lime Basil and Mandarin is actually quite tenacious for a cologne. I find the fragrance to be quite long-lasting on my skin and it's a pleasant scent. I do have a problem with the opening few minutes - it's quite harsh and masculine. The drydown is nicer and more mellow. I won't be purchasing a FB; there's nicer citrus frags out there in my opinion.

Fragrances -Givenchy - Ange ou Demon Le Secret
rated 3 of 5
Dagney 3/9/2010 11:28:00 AM

The opening notes are tart-fruity and quite uplifting. Ange ou Demon Le Secret is a light, pleasant fruity-floral. Linear with average lasting power. My problem with this fragrance is the generic white musk note which seems to be present in many other department store fragrances. My DH loved this scent on me.

Fragrances -Tom Ford - Private Blend Italian Cypress
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 3/5/2010 12:36:00 PM

Notes: Citrus, Basil, Mint, Woods, Cypress. Italian Cypress is an unisex fragrance however, I do think it leans more towards the masculine. The opening notes to me are very masculine cologne-like but it quickly changes to light citrus and dry woods. My skin amplifies the ambre/musk basenotes more than anything and I do like Italian Cypress very much. On my DH's skin, it's a minty citrus over dry cypress - just wonderful. Definitely FB worthy.

Fragrances -Hermes - Eau de Gentiane Blanche
rated 5 of 5
Dagney 3/1/2010 12:50:00 PM

Eau de Gentiane Blanche is a unisex eau de cologne released in 2009 as part of Les Colognes Hermes. Notes: gentian, white musk, iris and incense. I've throughly enjoyed wearing Eau de Gentiane Blanche. It's an extremely dry and bitter fragrance with some citrus undertones. The opening notes remind me of the pith of a grapefruit - citrusy but bitter at the same time. The remainder of the fragrance is dry, vegetal, with rock salt/mineral notes as well. I'm wearing this in spring and it's wonderful. Would love a FB of this to wear in the summer.

Fragrances -Hermes - Vetiver Tonka (Hermesessence series)
rated 4 of 5
Dagney 2/8/2010 3:03:00 PM

Very nice. Vetiver Tonka is a complex blend of sweet and dry notes. I smell green grass and sweet neroli over a light vetiver base. Truly unisex - I really like the sweet grassy notes but my DH said he would prefer to buy this for himself. As other reviewers have said both warm and cool at the same time so I think Vetiver Tonka can be worn during any type of weather.
