Eye Shadow -Sephora - Magic Palette - Silver
rated 4 of 5

Such an impulse buy for me since I do love nice packaging. This palette caught my eye while at my Sephora and I bought it on the spot. This is a palette with cool colours and really good sturdy packaging. I don't use the brush since it's pretty flimsy and useless. This palette costs about $24 Canadian for a good amount of product. In the palette, there's a dark and light purple, a pink, a dark gray and a silver. The colours are pretty pigmented and I have no problem creating different looks with them. One of the problems I have with this product is they're pretty smooth but there's so much fallout that the mirror inside gets dirty and it's a real hassle to clean. Like mentioned before, the packaging is really sturdy and great for carrying around. I would recommend this palette and I would repurchase if I could since it is limited edition.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Shady
rated 2 of 5

Normally at my drugstore this product is about $8 Canadian or more, which is really expensive for a drugstore product this small. My sister bought this for for about $2 Canadian on sale because she knew I wanted some neutral brown shadows. I was honestly pretty disappointed in these shadows, the lighter colour doesn't show up at all, even when I use a primer. The darker colour is ok, though there's a lot of fallout. I like how there's a small compartment on the bottom for the applicator (even though I don't use it) but you can see how much you're actually getting for your money which isn't much. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone because there are better brown shadows out there and I will not repurchase.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
DRag0ness 4/18/2010 2:16:00 PM

Hello HG Mascara =) I love this mascara, I have medium length, think asian lashes that point straight down that I hate but this mascara makes me love them. I don`t feel the need for any lengthening since I am already satisfied with the length of them and since this product does give a little bit of lengthening I am happy enough with that. Since my lashes are thin, I do like volume and this gives me all the volume I want for my skinny lashes. I always buy waterproof mascara since my lashes stick down and I need mascara to hold curl. This is great for holding a curl and is actually waterproof. I have really watery eyes when I`m outside and it does not smudge or flake and stays all day. Once I accidentally rubbed my eye really hard and it stayed the same as before. The brush is a bit thick but it`s not obnoxiously big like CG LashBlast where I would accidentally get mascara in places that were not my lashes. Overall this is an excellent mascara for volume if you are already satisfied with the length of lashes, holds up curl well and does not smudge or flake. My downfalls is that it does make your lashes a bit brittle and the obnoxious colour of the tube but those I can live with.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow quad " Sterling Rose "
rated 4 of 5
DRag0ness 4/18/2010 2:06:00 PM

These are some smooth and easy to blend shadows, I wouldn`t really say this is an everyday palette but it`s a good palette for when you want to go a bit more than neutrals. The shadows have ok pigmentation and are a bit sheer, they last for a good while and don`t crease on me. The last colour was a bit misleading to me, I though it would be really dark grey but it was more of a brown grey but nonetheless I still like this palette. Overall it`s a good product that I would reccomend to people but it is really expensive for a DS product at $15 Canadian with ok shadows and not so durable packaging.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Coffee Bean"
rated 4 of 5
DRag0ness 4/18/2010 2:01:00 PM

I was hearing a lot of great things about the Revlon Colorstay Palettes so I decided to give it a try. I bought 2 palettes, Coffee Bean, which is the one I am reviewing and Sterling Rose. Coffee Bean is a really neutral palette with neutral shades and some brown shades. The shadows are silkier than other DS shadows and have ok pigmentation and is a little sheer. They don`t crease on me and last a good while. They`re great for everyday when you want a toned down look. Overall this is a good everyday eyeshadow palette, it has some great everyday shades and it`s easy to bring around. My only problem is that I paid $15 Canadian for each of these and the product and the packaging aren`t really worth that much although if it were cheaper then I`d definitely repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom in Katie
rated 5 of 5
DRag0ness 4/18/2010 1:54:00 PM

This is the first plumping lip gloss I've ever gotten and I really like it. I've tried peach lip glosses and red lip glosses already so I decided to try a pink one so I chose Katie, which is a baby pink. It's really big compared to other glosses that I have but that's not too much of a problem for me, plus the packaging is really durable. The colour is really sheer for me, the gloss has a lot of sparkles in it which is okay with me but I don't feel I can wear it all the time and some people might not like that. Also, the gloss isn`t too sticky so I don`t have any problems with my hair getting stuck on it. There's a really weird minty feeling when you put it on that goes away after a while. I got it in my mouth once and it didn't taste like anything but I had that feeling in my mouth and it just wouldn't go away. I haven't seen any plumping in my lips but I saw a video on youtube by a girl who put it on half of her lips and that half did look bigger compared to the other half so maybe it's just me. Overall I really like this product although I am a bit unsure about the repurchasing part because it is really expensive at $26 Canadian so I'm really reluctant shelling out another $26 in the future for a product that didn't make me say I really really love this product and I would use it all the time, it just met my expectations. I might if I grow to love this more though.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Wild Rose
rated 4 of 5
DRag0ness 3/26/2010 5:14:00 PM

I love lip balms and lip treatments, I have so many of them that I don't even bother to count or organize them anymore. When I saw this at Sephora I thought the packaging was cute and easy to use so I bought it. Since I live in Canada this was $13 Canadian which is really pricey for me. It's not really a lip butter, more of a lip jelly. I like how it moisturizes and how it's pigmented. I honestly wish they had a stick version because I don't want to have to wash my hands every time I use it and the paging cracked on me! The outer part came off of it! I was just opening it and the cap took off the bottom part. Not really sure how to explain it but I was a little bit disappointed. $13 and it breaks that easily? Other than that I do like this product but Korres seriously needs to do something about they cheap packaging.

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Makeup Eraser Pen
rated 4 of 5
DRag0ness 2/28/2010 3:53:00 PM

This is so unbelievably useful for when you're on the go. It's really annoying to have to bring some make up remover and some q-tips with you but this fixes all of that. I get mascara on my lids and I can never get my eyeliner right on the first try, this is great for that as the tips isn't big or anything and cleans it up easily. My only downsides to this is that you have to wipe the tip after because you still have make up on it and that the cap is a bit hard to pull off. Other than that it's great for travelling and it's small so you don't have to worry about it taking up space. I would definitely recommend this to everyone and I will repurchase.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Exfoliating Scrub
rated 2 of 5
DRag0ness 2/7/2010 4:43:00 PM

My sister actually purchased this a long time ago. I usually use a St.Ives Olive Scrub which I love so much but I decided to try this one morning. At first I didn't think it was so bad, it exfoliated, wasn't very gentle, smelled nice and I guess I didn't think it was that bad. I used it a second time today and I don't if the beads are sharp or something but while I was using it a part of my nose started to burn and one of the beads had cut me. Like this wakes me up in the morning but it's not very gentle as I am used to using gentle exfoliaters but when it cut me I was pretty upset with that. In all, I think it depends on personal prefernce but overall I wouldn't really recommend this and I'm going to stick to my St.Ives scrub.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
rated 5 of 5
DRag0ness 2/4/2010 5:04:00 PM

I saw a lot of make up gurus on youtube used this so I decided to try this out. My skin is between dry and combination skin so I decided to get the gel since my face is oily in the summer and this would probably last me until then. It's pretty expensive for the little amount at $31 Canadian but I am really happy with this product. It moisturizes my skin, before my moisturizer was Nivea Soft I had to use a lot in order for my skin to feel soft and moisturized which made my skin kind of greasy. For this moisturizing gel I only need a literally pea sized amount and it's enough for my whole face! My only con is probably the smell, it's not very pleasant but I can stand it. I would definitely recommend this as it is now my HG Moisturizer and I will definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 3 of 5
DRag0ness 2/2/2010 4:31:00 PM

I really wanted to like this mascara as there are so many good reviews for it. But unfortunately I wasn't so happy with it. Somehow this mascara is only good when it's fresh. The first time I used it I thought I have found my HG mascara then the next week it started to get clumpy. It still works the same now but it's just so clumpy now. I was really disappointed with the fact that it's only good when fresh. I guess I'm on the hunt again for that HG mascara =/ I would not recommend this and would not purchase it again. Save your money.

Makeup Brushes -Too Faced - Retractable Kabuki Brush
rated 5 of 5
DRag0ness 1/27/2010 11:15:00 PM

I can't begin to describe how soft this gorgeous brush is. At first I was planning on getting the Ecotools Retractable Kabuki Brush since it was cheaper and had a simpler casing because I thought the this kabuki would be too gaudy or tacky looking. I had really wanted a retractable kabuki brush for travelling and to keep it clean. I was a bit skeptical about the fact that I heard it's really dense and hard to dry after washing it. So far I love this brush, I use it for my blush, bronzer but it's not really compatible with my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. It's very soft and applies on product easily. I washed it about 3 days ago and boy does this brush take long to dry. I left it to dry for about 3 days until it was finally dry, it's a bit of a let down since you can't really use it when wet but it was still soft and did not shed which I am happy with. If I ever need a new one I will probably buy another or just buy the ecotools one but I do recommend this brush to everyone =)

Blush -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush
rated 3 of 5
DRag0ness 1/27/2010 11:10:00 PM

I bought this at my local Drugstore because it was on sale, in Canada Physicians Formula is a really expensive drugstore brand and it was on sale for about $20 which is pretty cheap considering we don't have sales with 75% off at cvs or things like that. Since I've heard good things about Physicians Formula I picked this up and gave it a try. I got it in Bronzer/Rose. For me this isn't too bad, the blush isn't very pigmented and is very sheer which is fine for me. The bronzer you have to be careful with because it can make you look sunburned if you use too much. I took off one lippie for how it wears off so quickly, It was almost completely gone after an hour but then I applied slightly more and then it stayed for the rest of the day. Also the colours aren't what I expected them to be so another lippie off. Overall I would buy this product again but I wouldn't recommend this for people with dry skin.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 5 of 5
DRag0ness 1/23/2010 2:00:00 PM

When I first started out with make up I was an eyeliner junkie. I tried so many different drugstore eyeliners. When I thought I finally found my everyday go to eyeliner which was the Revlon Colorstay one, I found this one and boy am I happy with it. In reality they're both really similar but it's just that one is a pencil and the other one is a retractable crayon. This Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencil liner is a bit more creamier and does not break like the Revlon Colorstay does for me (it broke and fell out so many times). The cons about this product is that it does not last on your waterline AT ALL. About 15 minutes after I applied it on my waterline it was already faded. The price is also a huge con because in Canada it's about 22 dollars Canadian which is really pricey. My last on isn't as important, it's just that it's a bit hard to sharpen nciely because it's so creamy, but then again my sharpener is from Sephora and it was their cheapest one so maybe that's why. I'm thinking of getting another sharpener though. But overall this is a great product that does a great job of what it is suppose to do and I can use easily because my hand is super shaky and I would definitely repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme
rated 4 of 5
DRag0ness 1/15/2010 4:52:00 PM

I have been using this moisturizer for years now. I have like the dryest skin on Earth and I love this moisturizer. It keeps my face moisturized and soft and not greasy which is the best part. It's very creamy and does not have a bad smell that lingers. My only complaint is that you have to put a lot on in order for it to really work. But when I do put a lot on, my face feels really moisturized, soft and I love it. I only need to apply this once a day which is great and really convenient for me. I will repurchase unless some other brand comes out with a better cream.
