Average, and somewhat goopy. I tend to prefer polishes with thinner consistencies. The color selection is cool biased, as well.
Treatments -Philosophy - Never Let Them See You Shine

If you have truly oily skin, you know better than to use a moisturizer of ANY kind. However, hope and optimism drives me on to try, buy, an d subsequently return "mattifying" moisturizers. This one didn't make me break out and had a fast drying, pleasant texture. It was also very easy to blend makeup over it. However, it didn't do what it was supposed to do - stop oil, that is, so back it went.
Be Somebody that smells better. Be Somebody that buys a better moisturizer. Be Somebody that avoids this overpriced product. Be Somebody that returns it promptly, like I did.
Blush -Smashbox - Blush & Soft Lights Duo - Smashing Warmth / Luminance
Crusty 2/2/2003 7:29:00 PM
This duo is worth it simply for the highlighter. For ONCE, a highlighter with some warm shimmer, NO iridescence making you look like a corpse! The blush shade looks very pink, and applied more neutral, with significant pigmentation: ladies, tap your brushes. I combine the two when I apply the blush to soften it a bit, and I'm fast using the highlighter.
Use your own brush, the included brush is akin to using the tip of a pair of scissors. yow. The liner itself is a bit on the greasy side. Definitely wear e/s underneath, and oily lids - this will smear on you. The creamy texture never really dries.
Palettes -Smashbox - 8pc Time Slots Beauty Portfolio

This set is available from Sephora and was available from QVC as a TSV. It's a great set, and perfect for travel. The enclosed pamphlet gives you ideas on how to use the various products. The e/s trios are great, and the blush/highlighter duo is gorgeous. The highlighter is a golden tone that won't make you look DEAD like other more iridescent highlighters. The gloss and pencil are OK, you likely have staples that are similar. The eyeliner is a bit greasy and the l/s is a bit...brown. It looks more pink in the pamphlet but applied very brown. All in all, a great core kit for those with a warmer skin tone.
Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Trio- Smashing Roll Film
Crusty 2/2/2003 7:20:00 PM
This trio is a another great combo from smashbox. I've been using the shimmery gree to line my eyes, and the other two shades are perfect for a lighter, more natural look. All three shades have a bit of shimmer, and apply beautifully. The lightest shade in particular is a great staple and it's being used up very quickly as an all over lid color on "lazy days"
Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Trio- Smashing Wide Angle

VERY pretty colors in a useable combination! The matte shade is also handy for brows, if that is your coloring. The shimmer brown applies more like gold, and the sheet highlighter makes this a very nice trio. The texture of smashbox shadows is very nice; I'm looking forward to buying more.
This gloss is a gorgeous solor, but the cons outweigh the pros: First, it tastes terrible, and that defers kisses. Two, the packaging is such that a minor bump can twist the lid and leave a sticky mess in your purse. Not good. Finally, on the sticky/greasy continuum that we call lipglosses, this one is definitely sticky. There are better options...
A perfect matte, neutral shade. The formulation is great, but the color is a bit too...well, nude. A bit too brown.
Foundations -Elizabeth Arden - Flawless Finish - Mousse Makeup

This product applies evenly and lighter than air. The coverage is light to medium, and the wear is fair, but the color selection leaves something to be desired. Many pink and orange shades. Beware.
If you have the 5th edition, wait to get this one from the library, there is a lot of redundancy. I find Paula's books to be informative and helpful. Though she can be obnoxious at times, she is very thorough. Taking her advice has helped me clear up my skin, fins less expensive alternatives to dept. store faves, and select better products that don't run or smear on my oily skin.
This product absorbs quickly, has a pleasant smell and gives wonderful color effortlessly. Though I use self tanner too often to purchase at this price point, it is a welcome splurge at any time.
The wear is great and the colors are beautiful, but this gloss tastes terrible and the packaging is horrible. The caps can get turned very easily, leaving the rest of your m/u a sticky mess. There are better options!
These trios are awesome and the colors are gorgeous. They have just enough pigmentation to show up while still applying sheerly. The matte shades are smooth, and the shimmers are not obnoxious. This is an e/s fave.
