Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Futurist Lipstick
rated 4 of 5

Since moving to Colorado I have discovered that none of my lipsticks (MAC, Bobby Brown, Lancome, Revlon moisturous etc) have kept my lips from chapping EXCEPT Futurist. I have it in Sultry Blush and am now looking to branch out into other colors. Truly, this stuff really works to keep your lips from drying out and keeps away those nasty dry skin patches completely, plus with the SPF 15 you can't go wrong. Yes, they are expensive, but it's worth it IMO.

Lipstick -MAC - Orchidstrate Amplified Creme
rated 5 of 5
CrashingBoy 10/13/2004 6:04:00 PM

I LOVE this! I love the amplified creams in particular, but this color is really my HG. The coverage is splendid, it wears GREAT and makes my lips look LUSH and big with little effort on my part with tricky 'draw-ins'. It is a mauvy brown nude and looks fab with my light olive skin, blue/green eyes and the mauve in it makes my teeth look *white*.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick in Deep Nude [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I am normally a fan of nude and lighter colors, but I bought this after reading the reviews, and it's GORGEOUS. A deep color, but not overly bright (I guess that's why it's a 'nude'). It's hard to describe, but I agree with the color descriptions I have read here. I am light olive skinned with blue/green eyes, and this is the best 'darker' toned lipstick I own! It also does not seem to show up much on my water glasses or bottles, a BIG plus for a color like this. And it does wear very nicely. Love it, love it, love it!

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
rated 2 of 5
CrashingBoy 9/15/2004 4:08:00 PM

What I hate about this lipstick - you start out the beginning of the day with a nice light application that feels and looks great. Than as it wears and you keep reapplying it gets darker, and darker, and darker.... YUK!! If you don't mind dealing with that weirdness, it IS a pretty color in all it's incarnations. I will not be repurchasing it - I doubt I'll even get through the one I own.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor - Faithful Fawn

This is a pretty color, and I do like the ColorStay, but it's not a fabulous color for me (prefer Timeless Nude). I will probably not repurchase.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor - Timeless Nude

Since I've had my daughter, I've been big on finding lipstick that will not transfer to her when I kiss her (which I do all the time)! I'm pretty happy with the ColorStay. If you apply it correctly on healthy (not chapped or peeling lips) it's staying power is dynamite! None on my water bottles, glass, husband or baby - just on my lips! It takes a couple of good thick applications of the gloss before my lips really feel moisturized, but if I take the time and do it right, they never feel dry. And this color is very pretty. A light pinkie/peach nude that is perfect for my light olive skin.

Lotions/ Creams -DERMAdoctor - KP Duty
rated 3 of 5
CrashingBoy 9/13/2004 9:54:00 PM

I have only just been using this product for a week now, but I can already tell you it is one of the most moisturing lotions I have ever used. It has urea for moisturizing, glycolic acid for exfoliating, and green tea extract for antinflammation, plus some other good stuff. I am hoping to clear up the keratosis pilaris on my upper arms with it, and I can tell that the bumps are flattening out and the keratin plugs are much softer already. I will post an update when it has been ~ 6 weeks, which is when they say you should achieve maximum results. My only beef is the price - $36 for 4 ounces, but if it clears up my KP it is worth it! And the glycolic acid lotion I bought from my doctor was just as expensive and had less stuff in it.

This is a nice lipstick texture wise and is a very pretty LYBB nude color, although not outstanding. I wish it matched the nail polish better which is about my favorite nail polish.

Lipstick -BeneFit Cosmetics - Mocha Frosting
rated 4 of 5
CrashingBoy 9/13/2004 9:44:00 PM

This is a delicious color for sure. It's mocha with a hint of purple - not too dark, not too light on my light olive skin. One of my favorite all time lip colors. BeneFit lipsticks are a wee bit drying, otherwise I would give it 5 lippies. This color wears very beautifully and is well pigmented. I love the BeneFit lipstick packaging, as it is oval rather than round which keeps you from accidentally smushing the lipstick up against the lid.

Eyeliner -Almay - one coat gel liner
rated 4 of 5
CrashingBoy 9/13/2004 9:40:00 PM

I have this liner in Hazel. I am a big fan of the Hazel mascara by Almay, and I am just as happy with the color of the liner. However, it can be difficult to apply as it tends to be more sticky than creamy. I'm still giving it 4 lippies because of the color - I haven't found any like it, and it is just too perfect for my blue/green/hazel eyes.

Love this!! It's cheap and very well pigmented. It really brings the aqua out in my eyes. I use this on my lids with Aveda Hickory in the crease.

Concealers -Cle de Peau - Concealer - Beige
rated 4 of 5

Very nice concealer, and worth the $. A little goes a VERY long way, so I don't expect I'll have to repurchase this any time in the next few years. :) I took one lippie off because it does tend to slide just a bit, but now I wear it over my Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid foundation and it doesn't budge.

Liquid -Shiseido - Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42 PA+++
rated 4 of 5
CrashingBoy 9/13/2004 7:50:00 PM

This is my HG liquid foundation! The packaging is great as it allows you to use as little or as much as you want each time. This stuff is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. It does NOT slide into wrinkles or creases and really just sticks to your skin in a nice way. The only beef I have with it is I wish it was a bit luminizing as I am not a big matte finish fan. Overall though, this is the best foundation I have ever used.
