Blush -Flirt - Peek-a-blush sheer powder cheek color in Popsie
CocoMango 6/7/2011 6:04:00 PM
What drew me in was the texture....its so finely milled and buttery. I also like that it does not have glitter/sparkle in it. Its more of a satin finish so not quite matte. color is a pretty pink, a little more rose or slightly cool than say a peachy pink. Good buy, I'm happy! oh, but yeah, the slide out packaging is kinda wack.
Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Pastel Shadow Options Eye Palette
CocoMango 6/7/2011 5:45:00 PM
wow I'm in love with my palette. This is a new release and was a Nordies exclusive but now its available on BB.com. Its absolute perfection. As you would expect the shadows are good quality and blend nicely. You can do lots of soft day looks and build up a medium smokey eye for evening-none of the colors are really really dark. The top four sparkle colors are gorgeous. I have no issues with fallout so long as I use my TFSI. The bottom 4 are mattes with good pigmentation and pair great with the top ones. I like to use one sparkle all over the lid, one matte in the crease and Navajo as a brow bone highlight. I do about 4 looks from this but I'm sure there are waayyyyy more if you're creative :)
Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
CocoMango 6/7/2011 5:30:00 PM
Its kinda hard for me to review this as there is no color match for me. I've tried (several times) #115, #118, #120, and #125. None are right and then they just get darker from there so thats it. #115 was the right tone but too light. In in mac I'm NW20. ANYWAY, I really like this foundation b/c it looks so flawless and leaves a satin/natural finish like real skin should look. Its medium coverage to me. I don't think this would be good for oily skin and you have to be careful not to apply to much or else you will look waxy. So I give it a 4 but I wish they would expand the light end of their color range, specifically the cool tones.
Tinted Moisturizer -Bobbi Brown - Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer (Spring 2011)
CocoMango 5/29/2011 2:35:00 AM
I tried this out today and while I think the formula and wear is lovely it smells horrible!!! it reminded me of gasoline. Do not want that on my face. I waited it out to see if it would pass and after a couple hours I could still smell it. It really bothered me....its the only reason I would discontinue use. I used the second lightest shade I think its called "extra light" tint and my mac shade is NW20 for reference. It was a perfect color match so I'm sad it didn't work out for me. If you can't smell it than go for it but for me with a sensitive nose it was just not happening.
I'm really impressed with this concealer. Its always a shot in the dark buying ds makeup b/c you can't try it out first. This concealer has great coverage and doesn't crease or look cakey. I got lucky with this gamble! I'm seriously so happy with it. I bought shade 10. There are two light shades, 10 and 15. 10 is slightly yellow and 15 is slightly pink.
Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase Paste in Fair
CocoMango 5/17/2011 12:14:00 PM
Finally! I found a concealer that works for me. This is HG (for now). The color is more pink/salmon so it corrects dark circles. The consistency is very creamy and soft therefore easy to blend. You only need a dab. The coverage is great...not wimpy or too sheer. It lasts 6-8 hours. Minimal creasing! That was my biggest problem with all other concealers, they settled into lines within 10 minutes. Erase paste does not so I am beyond thrilled. my only gripe is the price and amount of product you get for that inflated price.
Mascara -Bobbi Brown - Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara
CocoMango 5/17/2011 12:05:00 PM
This is a new formulation of a similarly named product. This one added "Extreme" in the name so it is different than the old version Lash Glamour. Bottom line, it works. It added length and definition. The brush/comb applicator is pretty cool. I love how it never clumps. There is not much for volume here but it can be improved if you do 2-3 coats. Flakes minimally and washes off easily with soap and water. I'd buy it again. Good solid mascara and worth a try if you want to spend $24.

My review is for the new formulation of this mascara...the one that debuted in April 2011.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
CocoMango 5/17/2011 11:43:00 AM
I like this liner and find it easy to use. I usually use various kinds of brushes with a gel liner. This is my first liquid. Its very very black and lasts all day. I would say its semi-waterproof too b/c you need soap and water and quite a bit of gentle rubbing to get it off....so its not like it just rinses off w/o effort (this is a good thing to me). I've read several negative reviews here and wonder if we are talking about the same product! It is not watery, streaky, and sheer. Perhaps L'oreal has recently improved the formula.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - #168 Large Angled Contour Brush
CocoMango 5/16/2011 11:29:00 PM
This is good for blush, contour, highlight. Whenever you need a little more precise application this is the shape you want. I like the soft bristles and how compact the fibers are. However, my brush splayed a bit, more than I like b/c I'm kinda picky. It really bothers me, it looks messy. Thats why I took off two lippie and said I wouldn't repurchase. I'd try a diff angled brush next. It does apply product well and doesn't shed at all so thats good.
Its not really what I expected but that's okay b/c its still pretty and I'm a sucker for packaging/design. Its not as cool toned or lilac as I hoped. Its more mid tone pink. I can't really pick up just the outer part so when mixed together this is just pink with a bit of shimmer. Its actually kinda hard to work with b/c of the heart in the middle- you get the light pink with the magenta part in a spot on your cheek. Its fine once you blend though.
I wanted this for a long time and it has lived up to my expectations. Its a rosy bronzer....well that's how I use it anyway. Its really pretty and works better for me than Hoola. I love the light scent too. Its finely milled and has a satin finish. I like that it has just a bit of sheen and is not glittery.
Tinted Moisturizer -Unlisted Brand - Revision Intellishade SPF 45
CocoMango 4/5/2011 3:46:00 PM
This is the best tinted moisturizer I've tried. Its HG for me. I love that it has such a high SPF. Its my face sunscreen and yes it does protect. I was told its one shade fits all and I think it is surprisingly true. The coverage is sheer so that gives a lot of wiggle room as far as color matching. The finish of the product is dewy/glowy. With everyday use it lasts me about 7-8 months.
I think the color I got might not have been the best match...a little too yellow I think. BUT besides that this foundation is very easy to use and you can bring it anywhere. Its creamy and kinda thick. No problems blending. I felt I looked oily when wearing this. You could definitely tell I was wearing foundation. I didn't like that about it. It did provide medium-full coverage. I would try it again in another color to see if I look more natural and less greasy. edit: I got a lighter shade recently and no longer have the problems I mentioned above. I raised my rating as a result. I don't look like I have a thick coat of fdtn of my face.
I'm in love with this red gloss. Its the perfect shade of red and has a beautiful gloss finish (obviously). I always wanted a red lipstick but don't really like lipstick b/c I prefer gloss. So this was a very happy medium. color payoff is great. lasting power is pretty good considering it is a gloss.
