Skincare - Face -Vichy - normaderm micellar solution for eyes and face

This product is supposedly designed for acne prone, but sensitive skin, and should remove all traces of makeup. I used it for about 3 days to remove my foundation etc, however I simply could not continue to use it as my usually combination skin was red, irritated, dry and covered in cysts!! I didn't change anything else in my routine. Either the product was not removing my makeup correctly, or I was allergic to the ingredients. I would never put this near my skin again.

Shampoo -Organix - Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 7/4/2011 4:21:00 PM

This is a godsend for my frizzy, coloured, damaged hair! I have a very sensitive scalp, and when I use a shampoo containing Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLS), I break out in spots all over my scalp which can be very painful. I just happened to be buying my Herbal Essences mask in Boots the other day when this product caught my eye- it was hard to miss in it's lovely bright blue bottle! I have had success with Moroccan oil products before and was impressed by this shamppo's SLS free formulation. I purchased the travel size, which at £1.99 was very reasonable for 90mls of product. My unruly hair stays soft, frizz free and clean for up to 3 days with this shampoo (I follow with the Herbal Essences mask on the ends) and when my sample bottle runs out I will be buying the full size along with the conditioner!

Moisturizers -BeneFit Cosmetics - b right triple performing facial emulsion
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 5/21/2011 6:15:00 AM

I recieved a free sample of this moisturiser and used it all up! I have a very oily tzone and drier cheeks but am very, very prone to allergic reactions and breakouts. This moisturiser is lightweight and non greasy, I love how it is oil free too. I dont find the smell to be unpleasent, but I would prefer if there was no scent to it at all. The SPF 15 is not high enough to protect my super fair skin, so I have to apply a futher layer of sun protection on top, I have been using this for exactly a month now (I bought the full 50mls size product), and I have had no allergic reactions or cysts due to this product, I have actually noticed a slight improvement in the texture of my skin yay! £19.50 is a very reasonable price for 50mls of moisturiser, especially when it has sun protection and is oil free. I love the packaging, but Im sure it will be a bit tricky when I get down to the bottom of the glass bottled...the pump does not clog either. I am very impressed with this moisturiser, I though it would be rubbish...after all, Benefit is primarily a makeup brand. Definitely worth a try if you have oilier or combination skin :)

Blush -Illamasqua - Katie
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 5/15/2011 4:38:00 AM

"Katie" is my second Illamaqua blush, purchased on the recommendations of MUA :) This blush is insanely pretty, an ultra-soft bubblegum pink that looks perfect on my N10 skin and against my blue eyes and dark red hair. £16.50 isn't much to spend on such a lot of blush, especially when it is so heavily pigmented. Like "Hussy", I use my MAC 188 to apply "Katie", buffing it into my skin. I love to pair this blush with smokey eyes (think Benefit "Skinny Jeans" and lots of eyeliner and mascara) and nude lips (MAC "Ever so rich" or "Boy Bait" cremesheen lipglass). The packaging is sturdy and durable, and very sleek. I love that Illamasqua have a great selection of blushes at a cheaper price point than other brands. I was disappointed that I could not wear NARS blushes as they break me out, but I am so glad to have found Illamasqua- no break outs and once applied I rarely have to touch up :) Highly recommended!

Blush -Illamasqua - Hussy
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 5/15/2011 4:25:00 AM

"Hussy" was my first Illamasqua purchase and I am so impressed with it I went back for more! You need very little of this blush to go a long way as it is highly pigmented. I tried to use my MAC 129 brush to apply it, but it picked up too much product. After much experimentation I now use my MAC 188 to apply the blush to the apples of my cheeks and buff across my cheekbones. I paid £16.50 for it in Debenhams, and for such a lot of product I think this was a great price. The debenhams website describes "Hussy" as a "bright candy pink". I agree that this blush is "bright" but I consider it to be more of a neutral, dusky coral pink on my N10 skin. The packaging is sleek and pretty, nothing fancy but it is very durable (I dropped it in the bathroom on a night out, it didnt shatter or even get a scratch!) Although this looks fantastic on my pale skin, it would look amazing on someone with a tan or dark skin too...infact I think it is one of those colours that would suit most people!!

Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis #475 Dragon
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 4/7/2011 5:00:00 AM

I love this polish, it was the first Chanel item I purchased, along with their Dragon Lipstick. They are the same opaque, deep red shade...sexy but elegant too :) It is easy to apply which is great as I have quite shakey hands. One coat looks lovely, but two coats gives optimum coverage and shine. It does chip after a few days, but if you apply a base and top coat the wear improves greatly. Another great thing about this Chanel polish is that it dries quite quickly. It conditions my nails too! I doubt I will ever run out of it as I really don't wear polish very often, but I would repurchase if I ever needed to.

Moisturizers -Vichy - Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
rated 4 of 5
CliniqueGal 2/17/2011 6:49:00 PM

I was bought this for Christmas and have used it almost everyday since! I wasn't too sure about it. Until I stopped using it! I didn't use it for two weeks and my skin just didn't look the same, my pores looked really huge and my acne got quite bad again. Ive started using it again over the past week in the morning, my skin looks brighter and my pores are smoother and more refined! The only thing I don't really like is the texture, it feels a little dry, but it does do a good job at absorbing oil and isn't overly expensive.

Cleansers -Christian Dior - Purifying Foaming Cleanser with Crystal Iris Extract
rated 4 of 5
CliniqueGal 2/17/2011 6:20:00 PM

I really like the texture, smell and feeling of this cleanser. I use this after I take my makeup off to double cleanse. It has helped to calm down my acne and blackheads, it hasn't taken them away totally, but it doesn't strip the skin. I just wish that it wasn't so expensive and lasted a bit longer, hence the 4 star rating! I probably will repurchase despite the price.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Face Brush
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 2/17/2011 6:06:00 PM

I absolutely love this brush! I put off buying it for the longest time due to the ridiculous price, however after owning this brush for over 2 months, it is totally worth every single penny! I use this brush to apply my HG powder foundation (Clinique Almost Powder) and it blends the powder into my skin beautifully. The brush comes with its own case so it keeps its shape and keeps it more hygienic too! I've washed it a good few times, it dries nicely and doesn't shed. The best thing about it is how firm but super soft it is, no more scratchy brushes for me now!

Highlighters -MAC - Marine Life [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
CliniqueGal 7/20/2010 9:17:00 AM

I received this in a swap this morning and I have to say that it is better than I expected! The previous owner had used up most of the overspray on top, and I am grateful for that as I dont think I would have liked it as much with all the glitter on top! I use it as a blush, as I am very pale, and I apply with a MAC 188 brush. It is a perfect, slightly shimmery, coral colour which applies very evenly. I applied it heavily, but I can apply it more sheerly. The packaging is very pretty, as is the cute seahorse! I think I would buy it if it was ever re-released, but I would remove most of the overspray first.

Liquid -Clinique - Anti Blemish Solutions Liquid Make Up
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 6/10/2010 9:34:00 AM

I have finally found it...my HG foundation! I will be honest and say that although I work for Clinique, I never thought they would make my HG foundation as their other foundations just did not suit my skin, texture or colour wise!! I wear this in shade 01 Fresh Alabaster when I am not wearing self tan it is an almost perfect match, and in 02 Fresh Ivory when I am tanned (which isnt very often!) This makeup gives good coverage, and the finish is satin-y. I find that my skin still looks glowing but not shiny when I am wearing it. It stays on all day, I just touch up my nose as my nose is extra oily! This is the ONLY foundation that I have tried that has not broken my skin out in any form of acne, in fact, my skin has never looked so good through my use of antibiotics, oil free skincare, and this foundation!

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Light
rated 1 of 5
CliniqueGal 3/14/2010 11:46:00 AM

*EDIT* Broke me out so badly, that I have huge scars all over my face now :( Will not be repurchasing, even though I still love the finish! This is a lovely finishing powder. I use it over MIneralize Compact Foundation in NC15 and it sets my makeup all day. Light is the perfect colour and gives my skin a little more coverage and a silky satin finish! I buff with a MAC 180 or EL Powder foundation brush and this gives a even covering! I would recommed this to any skin type except for very oily, as it has no oil absorbing properties!

Crème -MAC - Mineralize Foundation
rated 1 of 5
CliniqueGal 3/14/2010 11:03:00 AM

*EDIT*- Nope, not my HG. Not even close. Broke me out :( Back to searching again! I really think I have found my HG! When I purchased this my skin was very blemished and oily, and this foundation would not stay on at all!! Luckily, I went to the doctor and am on medication for both of those problems and my skin looks much better now and this foundation no longer slips off my normal/combination skin. It covers my few blemishes nicely, and does not clog my acne prone skin. The colour match (NC15) is perfect (I use NC15 in SFF too). I think the trick to getting this to look perfect is to use a sponge applicator, and lightly buff some MAC MSFN on top. This creates a natural, glowing, satin, poreless finish that I never thought I could achieve!! I was worried about going through the small amount very quickly, but I have used it everyday for a few weeks now and i have lots left. I went out and purchased this for my mum, who loves it too. Would I buy this again? YES!

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
rated 4 of 5
CliniqueGal 2/14/2010 5:25:00 PM

I bought this in black at a discounted price from the CCO. I wasnt expecting much, but I have to say I love this mascara! Its very black, holds a curl all day, lengthens and volumises. It would be my HG mascara, but it flakes off a little and smells very strong! If your eyes arent too sensitive, give it a go! It definitley looks the best out of the hundreds of mascaras I have tried!

Styling Products -TiGi - Rockaholic Rock Out Shine Blaster
rated 5 of 5
CliniqueGal 1/19/2010 11:21:00 AM

Hello shiny, frizz free hair!! Where has this product been all my life? I was using Control Freak serum prior to this, but after a while I got bored with it! (Im fickle about haircare products!) While I was shopping I spied a set of Rockaholic products which included the dry shampoo, the shine blaster serum, and the leave in conditioner on special offer. After I was my hair I spray in the conditioner and apply the serum before blow drying and straightening- WOW. My frizzy, damaged hair is now smooth, sleek and shiny! I love that this serum can be used on wet or dry hair to tame the few frizzies that are left behind. I would completely recommend the leave in conditioner too. I have not yet used the dry shampoo as I am finishing a can of batiste first!
