Pressed Powders -NARS - Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder
Clarabella3982 5/10/2013 10:10:00 AM
I have found my HG pressed powder...I can say this is the best for keeping oilies at bay...and I have used a ton of powders! Amazed to find my face non-oil tanker looking by the end of a busy workday....

Fragrances -Chanel - No.5
Clarabella3982 3/22/2013 11:02:00 AM
I first tried this perfume in my early twenties and thought Yuck! old lady scent! Fast forward now to my thirties and I received a bottle of EDT from a Chanel event, grudgingly gave it another try, and expected to hate it....but I didn't! I actually thought hey this isn't too bad! It isn't an airy fairy flowery scent, but a dark mossy and musky one, very womanly and grown up...yes I haven't got older, but rather I've grown up now....;p the EDT actually packs quite a punch of frgrance already, not sure if I would like the EDP....

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
Clarabella3982 3/16/2013 12:09:00 PM
Errr... So I finally bit the bullet and bought this without trying to see if it lived up to all the hype! I have been eyeing this blush for at least 7 years...was a poor student then, and now am finally able to afford it. Well....it does show up nicely and naturally on my skin (NC30, asian) even though it looks scary in the pan (that shimmer!) but then again I think the shimmer on Super Orgasm looks even scarier....Almost a HG for me...but then again I'm always on a lookout for a great blusher! ;p

Eye Primer -NARS - Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
Clarabella3982 3/16/2013 12:01:00 PM
This is absolutely the one for oily lids. I am probably the oiliest person around and live in a humid climate, so this is the best for all day long eyeshadow staying power. I also blink a lot (bad habit) and eye makeup stays put! I only wish I could find a face primer as good as this....

Crème -Cle de Peau - Cream Foundation
Clarabella3982 12/1/2012 12:23:00 PM
This has probably got to be the most expensive foundation I've ever bought...and here I thought the Sisley oil free was the most expensive already! But I will gladly buy this foundation again...I think I have finally found my HG foundations in this and MUFE Mat Velvet and Sisley oil free. The Cle de Peau is a great consistency, thick enough to cover pores, yet doesnt feel too cakey. I am an NC30 and O10 suits me well, as I tend to oxidise my foundations easily as I am very oily. I have never bought a cream foundation before as I associate those for dry skin, but nope this cream actually does not have any oily texture at all, it is quite thick and pasty when put on, but yet blends very well. I am using the tube version, have never tried the one in a small box. I think oily skins should consider this! I put Shu mousse make up base and works fine. **Update 5/12/12 - I have just gone around running errands today in humid and hot Singapore where I live in for 2 hours and met up with a friend afterwards and she commented that my foundation looked fab and illuminating yet matte and wanted to know where I got it! I am very happy with the foundation indeed :) FYI I set it with Paul and Joe loose powder with Nars Nico as highlighter...I think the trick is not to use too much but to build it up gradually...a little goes a long way!

Eyeliner -Stila - sparkle waterproof liquid eye liner
Clarabella3982 11/28/2012 10:36:00 AM
One of my favourite eyeliners snce I got it in Sephora last year....oily skin, oily lids but it does not budge after many hours of wear!! Have tried a lot of expensive brands like Chanel, Shu and Lancome and this beats them all!

Blush -NARS - Outlaw
Clarabella3982 11/5/2012 10:27:00 AM
This blush doesn't *really* work for me, am a slightly tanned, Asian yellow-skinned tone (MAC NC30). I swept this across my face as per my usual blushes and it looked really bad and muddy, like I haven't washed my skin in ages...and enhanced all my pigmentations and acne scars...shockingly bad!! I tried it again, with very very very minute amounts on an angled brush and patted it on gently...and it sorta works! Very small amounts needed IMHO, especially if you have yellow-based skintone! So am sitting on the fence for this one...

Moisturizers -Chanel - Le Blanc Whitening Moisturizing Fluid
Clarabella3982 6/4/2012 12:26:00 PM
Fantastic product! Great for oily, slightly sun damaged, getting a little pigmentations kinda skin...doesn't bring out the oilys. I heard it's formulated for Asian skin, with a new kind of varient of tranexemic acid ( related to salicyclic acid) inside the new Le Blanc skincare range. I have a niggling patch of pigmentation on the cheeks and it has brought it down slightly ( am also using a low dose retinol serum by Skinceuticals before using this mosturizer, so maybe they work well together?) There is a cream as well, but that's probably best for drier skins. Downside...just a lil too expensive and I'd like a travel size too...

Shampoo -Oscar Blandi - Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray

This product sucks. Does absolutely nothing at all. Am sticking to my Principessa Bianco Breeze or Klorane Dry shampoo.

Moisturizers -Boscia - Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF 15
Clarabella3982 4/16/2012 12:48:00 AM
I live in a hot, humid country, and have very oily skin, open pores you name it...I find this mosturiser great for day time hydration, beneath my makeup. It goes on extremely light, so I guess this very lightweight mosturiser might not work for some people. I do use heavier mosturisers at night but for day this is pretty good and doesn't cause an oilslick by midday. I use Avene's thermal water before putting this on in the morning.

Treatments -RoC - Multi Correxion Skin Renewing Serum
Clarabella3982 3/31/2012 11:52:00 AM
This is an amazing product. I am only 29 but have blotchy skin, open pores, super oily face with premature signs of aging, few wrinkles between eyes, and cheeks. After using this for a week, my skin feels firmer, looks smoother, and wrinkles were definitely less prominent! I have been using this everyday for a week, and i will probably try to add on or alternate skinceutical's retinol. Make sure you use sunblock too!

Masks -Ole Henriksen - Blemish Attack Mask
Clarabella3982 3/18/2012 1:57:00 PM
I've been using Kiehl's Rare earth mask and DDF sulfur mask for years, and decided that I needed some salicylic acid for some deep cleansing (also recommended by a good friend training in aesthetic medicine who looked at my skin one day over lunch)...and picked this up in Sephora one day. I've been using it twice a week, together with starting Skinceutical's 0.5 retinol on alternate days, and it's made my skin a lot smoother and the enlarged pores on the nose don't seem to scream look at me! since starting this regime. Have a few stubborn cystic spots, but they seem to be in control. Highly recommend this masque if you have strong oily skin ( does sting a little the first 5min of it on but it goes away...so may not be for sensitive skin...) the smell is great too!

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Velvet 33 - La Distinguée
Clarabella3982 2/5/2012 12:31:00 PM
I LOVE this lipstick! And i have been looking for a nice neutral but not too neutral lippie for some time.Perfect for Asian tones NC30....neutral yes, yet very pretty, a light pinkish muted coral colour, great for work and after work as well! Must have nicely mosturised lips beforehand definitely. I hope they never discontinue it!

Masks -Laneige - Water Sleeping Pack
Clarabella3982 6/30/2011 12:05:00 PM
I received this as a sample. My face is extremely oily with enlarged pores, and worse still, I got really sunburnt recently. I had a few weddings to attend and the night before one, decided to try this out of desperation. It really worked wonders!! Especially to the eye area...amazing! Think it may be due to all the silicones...but it filled up the faint eye lines beneath my eyes very well....makeup went on very smoothly too and evened out the ruddiness that I developed on my sun-damaged face. I will recommend this probably once a week to very oily skin.

Polishes -Lippmann Collection - Happy Birthday
Clarabella3982 6/15/2011 10:00:00 AM
Got this at Barneys...18 bucks a pop...a psychedelic multicolored (predominantly silver, green, red) glitter on a clear base. I added it on top of a gold colored nail polish and it really gave it an extra dimension! It is seriously sparkly and catches the light very well. Not only as a birthday special but just that extra special kick for everyday too!
