Shampoo -Dove - Intense Moisture Shampoo
Cinmun226 9/14/2005 4:05:00 PM
The first time I tried this shampoo, it didn't seem very moisturizing. Then I decided to leave it in for a little longer- about two minutes- that made all the difference! Even before I used the conditioner my hair was softer than it had ever been from a shampoo- and I 've tried Aveda, Matrix, Paul Mitchell, Nexxus, Bed Head- you name it. In fact, right now in my bathroom I have about 12 salon shampoos and have only used the Dove for the last 3 weeks- along with the conditioner, and every other day for deep conditioning I use Nature's Therapy deep conditioner. I have long, highlighted hair that used to be dry, damaged and frizzy but is now smooth as silk! Yes, my hair takes longer to blow dry but that is because the moisture gets in deep! This is a very good product- but leave it in a little, to let it moisturize, and leave the conditioner in 3 minutes so that it has a chance to work!

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Seal and Shine
Cinmun226 5/23/2005 11:22:00 AM
This is a great product! I am so glad the girl at the salon recommended it after I asked her for a heat protectant. My hair was getting very damaged and full of split ends after highlighting and coloring for years, so I needed something to protect it. Spray on after the shower, then blow dry. Makes your hair soft and shiny and STRAIGHTER (I didn't expect that). I don't even have to flat iron anymore, my hair is so smooth and shiny after just blow drying. Very nice surprise! My hair doesn't look damaged at all anymore!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Advanced Solutions At Home MicroDermabrasion System [DISCONTINUED]
Cinmun226 4/14/2005 6:58:00 PM
Wow, this stuff really works. After 2 uses I was so excited I bought one for my mom for her birthday, and she agrees that it is a great product. After 5 uses mr skin is glowing, like my 6 year old son's skin. I have dry skin with visible pores on my cheeks, made to look larger by the fact that I like to wear shimmery blush. This has made the pores appear much smaller. Feels really good while you are doing it, not abrasive at all- very easy.

Liquid -American Beauty - Perfect Lighting Line Smoothing Foundation SPF 15
Cinmun226 10/27/2004 11:28:00 AM
This is called Perfect Lighting Line Smoothing Foundation SPF 15. It is the most beautiful foundation- very similar to Prescriptives Luxe foundation- (discontinued), with a slight shimmer, not a sparkle, but a subtle glow. Very nice- feels great, nice packaging, and just slightly more expensive than Revlon. testers available, as is cosmetic help- Kohl's has done a great job! The light-medium warm is perfect for me, and I have dry skin so the moisturizing qualities are great too. Very good quality for the price.

Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Total Effects Eye Transforming Cream
Cinmun226 8/17/2004 7:07:00 PM
I love this eye cream, and I have tried them all. I was having to use tea bags to depuff my eyes before I bought this eye cream. With this I barely have to use concealer, and it really helps your eyes look younger, IMO. I haven't noticed any "gold shimmer" like other users have, I see more of a pearlescence (is that a word?) that just makes your eyes brighter and look better. Wrinkles are slightly diminished.

Treatments -Derma E - Astazanthin and Pycnogenol Age Defying Protection Cream
Cinmun226 7/14/2004 4:21:00 PM
I have really noticed an improvement since I started using this cream- my pores are smaller and my skin is even toned, and wrinkles have been diminished. I use it under my Olay Total Effects, and they seem to be compatible. I use it especially if I am going to be out in the sun, since it has sunscreen. I ordered this cream online, retails for $40 on Derma E website, but can be found at other websites for around $23. It is a strange orange color- the astazanthin- 500 x more powerful than vitamin E- is naturally orange, but it feels good on your skin, almost like you are putting fruit on it. It is absorbed quickly.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer
Cinmun226 7/13/2004 3:22:00 PM
I love this concealer for under eyes- despite the strangely unnatural peach colors they really cover well. To use it you dip your brush into the little pot, and dot on, then pat it in. It looks completely natural, and its very creamy consistency makes it easy to blend, although when the MA told me that #3 was my color I thought she was losing her marbles. I was so pleasantly surprised- it looked fabulous, very smooth, doesn't settle in little wrinkles, lasts all day (I use the Laura Mercier primer as well), and the pot lasts a long time. I pat a tiny bit of powder on my 4th finger, then barely dab over under eye area to set it, and it doesn't budge all day. I have to order it online since I can't get it locally, I am on my 3rd pot. EDIT** Maybe those of you who think this products is too dry or hard live in colder climates- I have no need to "warm up" the concealer since I live in the hot desert. For me it has the perfect consistency, very creamy and blendable.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Stay Natural Makeup
Cinmun226 7/12/2004 11:56:00 AM
I really like this foundation, it goes on very smoothly over moisturizer and a foundation primer on my dry skin. I seems to have just the right amount of "slip" to it so that you can spread it on your face before it sets. I use the sand beige, it is a great yellow based color for summer. (I use the buff in winter when I am paler. Stays on, not as matte as other stay-true silicone formaulas (that is a very good thing IMO, some are too chalky and I think glowy looks more like natural skin).

Conditioner -Matrix - Amplify Conditioner
Cinmun226 5/21/2004 6:28:00 PM
This is a great , lightweight conditioner. Because it does not weigh down hair I use it at the roots where I need volume, then use a heavier conditioner at the ends where my hair is drier.

Skincare - Body -Palmers - Shea Butter Formula in a jar
Cinmun226 5/21/2004 6:23:00 PM
This stuff is wonderful. Shea butter is also a good sun protector, I use it on hands, nails, feet, legs, arms, hair, lips, face- anywhere! I have purchased $30 shea butters, and this one is just as good for $5.00. (The more unrefined the shea butter, the better it is). Everyone tells me I feel like "velvet" because my skin is so soft all the time (not that I let everyone go around touching me--I mean when people pat your shoulder and stuff!) It also seems to give your tan a luminous quality. I would definitely repurchase, and I will never spend more than $5.00 for shea butter again!

Shampoo -Matrix - Amplify Shampoo
Cinmun226 5/21/2004 4:53:00 PM
If I want to have a good hair day I use this shampoo on my haighlighted, long hair. Hair is full of body, shiny, soft, and it doesn't strip color (the Color XL version). I am on my 3rd bottle. Lathers nicely, smells good too. Odd aqua color, but who cares as long as it does what it claims to do!

Styling Products -L'Oreal - Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Serum
Cinmun226 5/21/2004 4:00:00 PM
Great Product, use 1-2 pumps for the ends of my hair and the front. I use this while my hair is wet- before I blow dry, so I can run a comb through my hair and not scream. I like it alot for the price, seems to work almost as well as Biosilk silk therapy (although not as weightless, I must admit).

Styling Products -John Frieda - Dream Cream
Cinmun226 5/21/2004 3:37:00 PM
I actually liked this stuff -even better than more expensive Frederic Fekkai glossing cream in my opinion. You only need a tiny dot, spread it through your hands and then run your fingers through the underside of your hair as directed, then over the dry strands on the top parts. I have mid back, blond highlighted hair, and this helps get it really shiny on the days when the front parts look damaged. I comes in a big tube, it has lasted me almost a year, and I still have lots left because you need so little.

Treatments -Lancome - Vitabolic
Cinmun226 5/21/2004 1:30:00 PM
This is a Vitamin C radiance booster to be used under your regular moisturizer. I've used it for about 3 months now, and haven't really noticed a difference in my skin. The smell is completely gross to me, kind of like an orangey beef, if you can stomache the image I am sorry to bring to mind. Fortunately it doesn't last long, and it doesn't seem to bother other MUA reviewers too much. I have replaced this product with Derma E Ester C cream, a more stable version of Vitamin C, which smells great and makes your face feel even greater- radiant, soft, less wrinkles, etc. It is alot less expensive, too.
