Stick -L.A. Colors - Mystic foundation/concealer stick
rated 3 of 5
Christinaann5 5/15/2013 1:26:00 PM

I have uploaded a picture awhile ago, hoping to review once I had some time to work w/ this product. I feel like I've had some time and on to my review... ~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LA Colors Mystic Foundation/Concealer Stick can be found in some stores like Family Dollar, Dollar General as well as online at LA Colors website & cherry culture. ~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ LA Colors Mystic Foundation/Concealer stick is a duo purpose product. Very practical for those looking for less steps & fast makeup. Unfortunately, there are only a few shades. In my area, only 1 shade is available but luckily for me, shade NUDE is a match. Nude does lean more on a neutral slightly cool pale shade.I'm very pale cool toned but I can make this work. What I love about this is how pale it is so I can use it to brighten my natural high points of my face. The formula is a thick cream that can be blended w/ a firm brush, sponge or fingers. I think its best to use a sponge. I use a damp sponge since I have dry skin. The formula is a tad on the wax side so proper blending is needed. Will emphasize dry spots or wrinkles. I ended up mixing up some of this w/ my primer & moisturizer so I can use it all over w/out caking. It will cake up if too much is used. Only a little is needed to cover area. Opaque shade will cover veining & redness & some discoloration. If more if needed, work in small layers so it doesn't cake up. This is a good product esp for the price. I've tried these foundation/concealer sticks a long time ago & its similar to those. I'm glad that Nude is a light enough shade. Those w/ medium to darker skin tones could only use Nude for highlighting since its very light. This wears for over 6-7 hours since its a thicker formula. I have had this swatch on my hand for a whole day almost. Its wear time is great esp since its stays put for a long time. This works great alone or blended out w/ some moisturizer or damp sponge. ~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The LA Colors Mystic Stick comes in a hand size hard plastic mechanical twist up stick. The packaging is a see thru blue tinted stick w/ black logo & ingredients etc in black located on the stick. The shade name is located on the bottom sticker. The top part of the stick is clear so you can see the stick shade through it to decide which shade may suit you best. The lid snaps on/off easily & keeps the product safe & secure. There is 0.32 oz or 9.1 grams which is alot! Esp since its opaque & thick so a little goes a long way. The stick is easily twisted up & down to get to the product easily. This is def travel friendly & convenient. No worries of liquid spilling or going everywhere. This is a really simple, practical packaging. Its not over the top or so pretty but it works. This is slim enough to fit even in a pocket if needed. I like the look of this stick. Overall, LA Colors is a great company for those of you who haven't tried any of their products yet. Their customer service is superb. My favorite part is that they remain a CRUELTY FREE makeup company at an affordable cost for those like myself that have ethics & morals but also a tight budget!

Scrubs -Queen Helene - Oatmeal N' Honey Natural Facial Scrub
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 5/15/2013 1:26:00 PM

Queen Helene products are simply amazing! I have come to really love and enjoy everything I've tried thus far and hope to find some more to try out. This scrub is really great and here's why. ~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Queen Helene products can be found in few places. They are not yet widely available but hopefully one day will be. I can find my QH products at Dollar General, Sally's Beauty Supply, and Family Dollar. The price is super affordable. Generally priced around $2-3 which is great considering some facial products are very expensive but this affordable product works great. ~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ Queen Helene Oatmeal n' Honey Natural Facial Scrub is a great scrub for most skin types. Make sure to spot test before going wild all over just in case because importantly, we all have different skin types & needs. So my opinion & results will not be the same as someone else. This claims to be " a gentle cleansing natural fiber scrub w/ smoothing oatmeal & honey. It draws out impurities, unclogs pores & removes dry dead cells from the surface of skin. Honey helps to replenish lost moisture & protects skin from harsh elements. Skin will look fresh & healthy & feel soft & smooth. Apply daily or as often as desired. Ideal for use in the shower too." I use this once or twice a week depending on how my skin is. This is good for those with normal, combo or oily skin. I do have dry skin & still can use this w/out any issues of it over drying out my skin any more. Actually it helps to take away any flaky spots. This makes my skin feel smoother. I will always apply a thick moisturizer on my face after cleansing bc of my dry skin. It helps my moisturizer sink in better & also my makeup looks more even since I don't have any flaky spots. The formula or consistency is a very thick heavy cream like texture with larger granules of oatmeal throughout. If you have tried their Apricot Scrub, its similar but less harsh as the size of granules are. I love the smell of this!! It smells of delicious honey & oatmeal. It smells so yummy going on. The scent does not linger after rinsing it off. I apply in the shower. I use a nickel size dollop, then using my finger tips, rub in tiny circular motions to rub it gently. I let it sit for a minute then rinse away. I don't smell anything afterward. This is a really great affordable scrub similar to more expensive brands. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Queen Helene Oatmeal n' Honey Natural Facial Scrub comes in the standard QH plastic squeezable tube. The tube is big enough to last awhile. The tube is basically white with oatmeal like coloring. Product name & claims on front as well on the back w/ directions & ingredients. The lid is also an oatmeal/brown color. Easily twists on/off. This squeezes easily, no hassles. The hole is big enough to disperse enough product w/out wasting a whole bunch either. fl oz of product which is alot. It may not seem like alot but its def alot. Only a nickel size is needed. I typically find my bottles with weekly use or so, will last a few months. Its not the prettiest or most unique packaging but it simple & effective which to me, is enough. I'd rather have a pump but i think w/ the formula it would clog up or there would be issues. Overall, if you have not tried this product or Queen Helene, give one of their products a try. This one is really amazing! I also recommend Mint Julep Mask for those w/ more acne prone skin. I use it as area spot treatment. I highly recommend this scrub & will most def repurchase over & over!

Tinted Moisturizer -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear SPF 50 Tinted Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 5/15/2013 1:26:00 PM

I have to say I was very lucky to have found this TM at my local Big Lots awhile ago when I saw a few girls online talking about finding PF products there. I was so happy to find a few things with a great price so I always heard good things about this TM and this I knew was the time to give it a try. ~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Physicians Formula Tinted Moisturizer can be found in most drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid as well as most mass discount stores like Target, Kmart & Walmart. The price will vary as with any d/s product depending on location, sales, discounts & coupons. PF is generally very expensive & I think over priced for d/s but their products are good. I would like to try a few more products from them but they are expensive to me. Healthy Wear TM is priced generally around $12. I was lucky to find mine at Big Lots for only $4.50 which is a really great price. I would repurchase bc I like it but I'd def wait for a clearance sale. ~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ PF Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer is a great lightweight tinted moisturizer which includes a spf 50. A high spf which is great for those who want to skip that step. Its great for my super pale skin. PF claims it " protects with its SPF boosters of 50 to stay protected longer w/out residue or greasiness. Its Prevents w/ potent antioxidant blend helps to prevent future UV damage & premature signs of aging. It also restores using licorice extracts, tomato derivatives which brighten skin & diminish the appearance of sun spots. There are so many great aspects of this TM. I purchased lightest shade "Ivory to Fair #7066" which sadly is still too dark for me. Its a warm tone shade. Those w/ very pale skin like me (w/ cool undertones) will find it too dark & warm but I have other fndts that I mix this with that makes it work. The shade will work for some. The formula is a thicker moisturizer feel, applies & blends easily. I like to use a damp sponge or my fingers for more coverage. The coverage is light but still evens out skin & covers some redness & discoloration. I can't use this alone since the color doesn't work for me. Of most TM's i've tried, this one is really good. Great for those w/ good skin or those who want a lightweight non-cakey foundation feel. It doesn't feel thick or heavy on the skin. Blends out w/out drying or emphasizing my dry spots. Wears well. I don't emphasize pores or wrinkles. It blends easily into skin without drying or pulling in any areas. It will work best for normal, dry or combo skin. Those w/ oily skin beware that it may oxidize or wear off easily for you. I don't like to set w/ powder unless its really hot outside. A light dusting is enough. I like how it doesn't dry out my skin & feels good throughout the day. I didnt notice any oxidizing or vanishing areas so it stays on well. I really like the almost gel like feeling/consistency. Can even work as a primer/moisturizer for those who need more coverage. This is a really nice tinted moisturizer. I just wish it wasn't so dark but it does not dry darker, which is nice as well. On top of a primer, this lasts for around 6 hours or so before i see a natural fading as w/ any tinted moisturizer. Setting w/ a powder may help it last longer. I like the natural finish, not matte nor dewy. Its natural looking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PF Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer comes in a really fun bright orange tube. The lid has a cute little pink ribbon. The logo/labeling is in bright pink writing. I like the packaging. It always draws my eyes to it. This includes the typical 1.0 fl oz of product. This tube is hard plastic and slim. The lid pops on/off easily. The pump is easy to use. Doesn't disperse too much product. Easily pump what is needed. I find this to be great packaging. I would like more foundation to be packaged like this. The only issue I would maybe say is that you can't see through the tube so it's hard to tell how much product is left. That's my only minor complaint. Otherwise, its fun & cute & very travel friendly. Can take it in your bag & go. Overall, this is a really great tinted moisturizer. Its on the pricier end of drugstore makeup as most PF products are but if you are looking for a lightweight but decent coverage and have normal to dry skin, this will work for you. There unfortunately not too many shades to pick from either which is a bummer but I make it work. I see myself reaching for this in all seasons. Great for summer for the less is more & also even in winter since it does not dry out my skin like more matte formulas do. Overall, a really good product from Physicians Formula. Wish I could try more from their line. I would recommend to those who are looking for the coverage of a tinted moisturizer or who don't need a whole lot of makeup. I prob won't repurchase since I bought two at Big Lots & it will take me awhile to get through them since I can't use it on its own.

Eyes -L.A. Colors - JUMBO EYE PENCIL
rated 5 of 5
Christinaann5 5/15/2013 1:26:00 PM

Wowie!! If you haven't tried these yet, def give them a shot! If you are a fan of the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils, then you will love these! I quickly feel in love and here's why... ~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencils can be found in a few places. Luckily for me I can purchase mine at local Dollar General, Family Dollar & Five Below stores. Also can find these online on the LA Colors website & cherry culture websites. I use to have a hard time finding these but luckily my local stores are carrying many of these pencils. Whats amazing is the price. Super affordable & cheap! These only cost $1 but less than $2 purchasing online. So for a $1 these are a better deal than NYX since I can only buy those online. ~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ LA Colors Jumbo Pencils are a dead on dupe ot NYX. The formula is a thick cream shadow that works good alone or as a base for powder shadows to grab to that allows it to last & shadows to be more pigmented. These can also be used as a liner. These glide on easily & blend out w/out wiping away. Formula dries to an almost cream to powder finish. I use an eye primer first then these. Alone on days I am looking for a quick look & as a base for my d/s shadows that are less pigmented. They also can make different colors. These will last for 6-7 hrs before fading alone or as a base, my shadows stay over 8 hrs. They wear great. Those w/ more oily lids will have different wear time since its a cream product, the oils will break down the product quicker. My lids are normal to almost dry. Setting w/ a light dusting of powder will help as well. These do have a slight sweet scent to them on application but disappears. I can only smell it when close to nose. It doesn't bother me but it should be noted for those who are sensitive to scents. Does contain wax & parabens to those interested. Now onto my favorite part, the COLORS! LA Colors offers many colors to pick from. They don't have as many as NYX but enough for my liking that I saved some money. These are great basic colors but also some fun bright ones too. I've yet to collect them all but may someday. The colors I own so far are: Seashells- basic matte flat white. This is probably my favorite. Great for any eye look, brightens eye area & cancels veins or discoloration. Can also be used on waterline. I also like to use this as a highlighter on brow bone, cupids bow & a little on top of cheekbones. Dupe of "Milk" Saltwater- metallic silver w/ a silver shimmer throughout. Add demision to looks. Makes a great liner on lower lash line for those w/ brown or hazel eyes. Very unique color Sandcastles- midtone brown cool taupe gray. Its not matte or metallic. Its gorgeous alone or as a base for browns, purples, & gray shadows. other than seashells, this is my favorite. Compared to "Iced Mocha" its more of a purple gray taupe then a bronze silver taupe. Summerlove- deep bright cool hunter green w/ green shimmer throughout. Great as liner for a color pop! Bikini time- mid tone duo chrome of purple violet blue w/ slight duo chrome reflective shimmer. Add dimension to looks or purple shadows & also a great lower lash line liner. Tropical Bliss- a darkened violet purple w/ blue undertone. It has a sheen to it. A touch darker than Tropical bliss. Not matte or metallic. Its great to add under purples, pinks, blues & even browns or grays to make a taupe. This is great for my brown eyes. It makes them pop. Sunglasses- flat matte true dark black. Very pigmented. Great for darkening looks or adding depth in outer v areas. Also can be smudged for runway looks. Also a great pigmented black liner! Dupe for "Black Bean" ~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~ LA Colors Jumbo Pencils come in a very similar pencil like NYX. Its made of a hard plastic that can be sharpened w/ the LA Colors sharpener that can also be bought for a $1 (a double sharpener, a standard & jumbo size) These can also be depotted if desired the same ways the NYX can. I haven't tried either yet since I like the convenience of the pencil but Ill update once I do, regarding which way is best for me. The chubby pencil is easy to handle & use. The pencil is black in color w/ a bottom piece colored like the pencil color. Easy to decipher which pencil is which. There is a clear plastic lid that fits onto pencil. W/ the lid, it fits w/out sipping off. White lettering w/ LA colors logo & product name. The ingredients are located on pencil. 0.13 oz or 3.8 grams of product compared to .18 oz/5 grams to NYX so you get a little less. The shade name is located on the pencil as well. Simple & sleek packaging. I like it. Its less messy than a white pencil. Will update once I have to sharpen/depot. Overall, these are AMAZING cream shadow pencils. These are great dupes for NYX Jumbo pencils. The colors are different than NYX. I have been reaching for one of these daily. I can't wait to try out more colors. I have always been LA Colors biggest fan. The customer service is amazing! Super cheap & CRUELTY FREE makeup, i can't ask for more!!!

BB Cream -Rimmel - BB Cream Beauty Balm 9 in 1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 4/15/2013 11:49:00 AM

Wow, i have to say I am a big fan of this product! I have to say though I am new to BB Creams and have not tried the true Asian market BB Creams, Ive only tried the US Versions so I am biased and do not know too much about real BB Creams since US versions tend to be completely different. But of those I've tried (Rimmel, Maybelline, Garnier) this one is really great. ~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~ Rimmel BB Cream can be found where Rimmel products are sold. Found in most drugstores like Rite Aid, ,CVS, Walgreens as well as mass stores like Walmart, Target or KMart. Price will vary as with most drugstore products depending on your location as well as sales, discounts, and coupons. Check local Sunday papers for coupons since RImmel has been great & putting out $1 off coupons. The BB Cream is generally priced around $6-7. I purchased mine at Walmart for $5.97 with coupon. Good price since d/s makeup is getting more expensive nowadays. ~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~ Rimmel BB Cream 9 in 1 Pefercting Super Makeup comes in 3 shades (at least in my area) Light, Medium, and Deep. I purchased mine in shade Light. Light is a nice paler neutral toned shade that can work for most skin tones. I am super pale & most US BB Creams are way too dark for me but this one works. The claims are "it's a skin perfecting super makeup: 9 in 1 results: primes, moisturizes, minimizes pores, conceals, covers, smooths, mattifies, brightens and helps protect and lasts all day." This comes with broad spectrum spf 25 sunscreen. Good amount of spf for protection, can skip the step with this. The BB Cream to me, makes a great primer for any foundation to be applied on. The texture of the BB Cream is a light almost whipped cream/ body butter feel. It's thicker, not runny or watery like Maybelline but thinner than Garnier. It spreads easily with fingers or brush. This helps smooth out skin, hides most redness, slightly moisturizes, brightens dull skin. This helps give a layer for foundation to apply easier and better. My foundation does not settle into fine lines or pores, as it would without. Does have a very slight spf smell. If you are sensitive to sunscreen, check drug facts. I have normal to dry sensitive skin & this does not emphasize my dry spots. This has not broke me out or gave me any problems. This is even great alone on days I have only a few minutes to even out my skin. The coverage is light like a tinted moisturizer but not glowy or shiny. It covers most redness & I still need some concealer for my horrible under eyes & any blemishes. I do have super pale skin so I do need coverage for my veins and sallow complexion & this works well for that. I love this and think its great "super makeup". It does not perform miracles as with most claims of BB Creams but it does do a good job of evening & brightening, it helps foundation go on smoother and helps with longevity of my foundation. It keeps the oils from breaking down foundations throughout the day. I notice my foundations look fresher longer. I love this stuff! I have purchased a back up bc I have used this almost everyday since I bought it. Its a great BB Cream. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rimmel BB Cream comes in a 1 fl. oz or 30 ml squeezable plastic tube. This comes in a skin tone pink color with blue labeling. Drug info/ingredients are listed on the back. This is the standard size of a drugstore foundation. Its small and convenient to go in travel bag for re-applying if needed or great for traveling since it provides sunscreen and a tinted moisturizer finish. The lid twist on and off. There is a hole that allows the product to be squeezed out. Easily dispensed. Allows little product to come out so its not messy and no wasted product which is a great find. The only issue i have is the top can become a little messy when you rub off the cream from hole. Nothing major or horrible. I just wanted to make a note of it. I find this is great packaging esp for a BB Cream. I can get all of the product out, no scooping or putting fingers into a jar. Slim & light for travel & doesn't take up much room in collection. Simple but works. Overall, if you are looking for a new BB Cream or a new primer or something that isn't too much, def give Rimmel a try. Light is a true "light" color that will work for most light skin tones. I find this does what it claims and I def recommend to others and have repurchased a back up already. Priced well, performs well and actually is light enough for me, I couldn't ask for more! Wonderful product!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 3/29/2013 6:54:00 PM

I have to say I am generally not a huge mascara lover, but ive come to love Maybelline mascaras. I feel like, from the drugstores, they have the best for my mascara preferences. Now, we all have different preferences or needs for our mascara so take that into account with my review. My lashes are long, full, semi curled, can hold a curl, but also on the dry side. I cannot use waterproof formulas bc they tend to make my lashes fall out. I like to keep as many as possible. I hate to see lashes falling out. I like my lashes natural but somedays i feel like i want some definition, a little bit of length & volume. I love Volumining Mascaras. so onto my review ~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~ Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal is available at most drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid as well as mass discount stores like Target & Walmart. The price will vary depending on location & also where you purchase and sales, discounts & coupons. Maybelline puts out alot of $1 off coupons in the coupon saver. I purchased mine at Walmart for $4.97 with a dollar off coupon. It was a great affordable price. This is generally priced around $5-6 which is a typically drugstore mascara price. ~~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~ Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal comes in 3 shades, Glam Black, Classic Black, & Glam Brown. This also comes in a washable & a waterproof formula. I purchased mine in Glam Brown which is a nice deep dark chocolate ashy brown. Its dark enough for darkening the lashes. Some may want to go w/ a classic black but i dont mind either. This claims to have 9x the volume w/ collagen, & has a Mega brush to help coat the lashes. I think the formula is wet but more on the creamy side. Not too wet like Loreal Voluminous but not super dry. I think the formula changes w/ time but still remains great. I want a less wet formula since my lashes are long & i end up w/ mascara all over my lids when i just finished a look, not good. The formula & brush work great together. W/ one coat, the bigger thicker traditional style brush allows it to grab onto lashes & gives a little lift & holds curl while giving lashes a more voluminous or fuller look. This makes my lashes look like i put a few fake ones on. The formula is great, has a "mascara scent w/ a slight floral scent too" but the scent disappears immediately. This formula lasts for 6-7 hrs before i see any falling of the lashes. I notice that its still there at the end of the day. I do like to take a makeup remover at the end of the day. It doesnt flake unless i put a whole bunch of layers on. I find this is safe for my contacts, no issues like some ive tried. This is def one of my favorites in awhile & havent found anything that gives me this much volume. Its suggested to not allow the coats to dry in between, Its buildable a few coats. I can give a curl, then coat w/ a few swipes & my lashes are great for the day. If you have preferences like mine, give this formula a shot. ~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~ Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal comes in a great bright yellow standard mascara tube w/ bright purple writing. The tube is the standard size with a good amount of product. I feel like this last the 2-3 months without going funky or bad. I dont mind the scent. I love the bright tubing, it draws me in on the mascara, is it just me? or i am the only one that likes mascaras w/ bright packaging?? The wand is long enough for easy application, the "mega brush" is a nice thick bristled brush. I rather the traditional than plastic wand but its my preference. I feel like it coats my longer lashes w/out clumping, it allows it to coat lashes w/out clumping. Overall, i really love Maybelline mascaras. I feel they come out w/ the best for the price. The packaging is fun & bright, they dont cost alot for something that i am to throw away after 3 months. and Colossal is one of the best ive found for my lashes. I love it, will def buy it again, ive tried others & like them but i think this one im going to go back to again & again, ill update if i find another one but im loyal to this so far!

Liquid -Rimmel - Match Perfection
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 3/26/2013 11:55:00 AM

Wow- i have to say, this product has mixed reviews but luckily for me, I have personally feel in LOVE with this foundation. Its been out for awhile so its taken a few glances & setting it back down but for some reason, i decided to just give it a go.(i think walmart had them on clearance but they werent actually on clearance, if you know what i mean, they tend to do that alot) but for whatever reason, i gave it a go & im sure glad i did!!! Its my new favorite... ~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Rimmel Match Perfection is widely available in most drugstores like CvS, Rite Aid, Walgreens as well as most mass stores like Walmart, KMart, & Target. The price is typically around $5.97 but will vary depending on your location as well as where you purchase & also any sales/discounts. ~~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~ The Rimmel Match Perfection Liquid Foundation comes in various shades. Availability depends on your location. The shade I initially purchased was 120 Ivory which is a little dark for me but it works but fornuately for me, they have since released a few new shades, 101 Classic Ivory which is lighter than previous. So I am super excited to try that to see if it matches better. I use 120 Classic Ivory now mixed w/ lighter fndts & it works just fine. The shade 120 Ivory has more warm tone but Im not sure if im correct but i see a slight gray pink undertone. Its odd but I personally dont mind it bc i feel like it brightens out my skin. Shade 101 Classic Ivory leans more on the cool side. I see both of these shades working well for most skin tones. I have Mac NW10 or lighter & i can makes these work. I havent opened my new lighter shade bottle yet but will update on shade/tone. The finish is gorgeous on these, its a natural dewy sheen. This claims to have "traceless coverage w/ advanced smart tone technology for perfectly flawless skin under any light. Enhanced w/ Sapphire Radiance for illuminating glow, last all day with uva/uvb broad spectrum spf 18." These leaves a natural dewy finish w/out being to sparkly or glowy, its a natural brightening effect. Lasts for 7-8 hrs on skin w/out fading or oxidizing. It looks just as good at the end of the day. Will work great for those w/ normal to dry skin. There is a scent to this so if thats an issue, beware. It smells like sunscreen but i cant figure out what else it smells like. The scent does dissipates after application. The formula is a thicker liquid, not too runny or thick, blends seamlessly on the skin. Can use fingers, sponge or brush. Have some time to work it in w/out it drying up or not seeming to dry at all. It doesnt cling or emphasize pores or spots. Coverage is light to medium, can build up in areas if needed w/out cakeness. Im happy w/ this alone & a little bit of concealer under eyes. This helps to even out skin & covers redness & the redness on the blemishes w/out having to use alot of product.. Those w/ more problematic skin will need concealer on darker spots. This is really an amazing looking fndt, i get compliments every time i wear it, people always say, you look good today, what is it? Haha. I know its this fndt. It performs well on normal to dry skin. I will set this on tzone area to avoid any shine later in the day. I use a silicone base primer & this holds up very well. Most fndts oxidize & change color, this one holds true. ~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rimmel Match Perfection foundation comes in a nice glass jar, unfortunately there is no pump :( Im use to not having pumps so its ok but it be great w/ one. There is the standard 1 fl oz of product. The foundation comes out easily w/out struggling to get enough or too much. This will need to be mixed or shaken up before using since the ingredients separate a little in the jar. The blue lid twists on & off easily. Labeling info & ingredients located on the back. Shade name & number is located big enough on the front near the bottom. I dont like having to search for a name & they include a shade name & no making it easy to figure out which one may work. The jar is a little longer or taller & thin w/ a slight taper inward towards the bottom. Nice sleek & pretty bottle. Works great, just wish there was a pump! Overall, this is quickly becoming a favorite & a must have. I normally dont buy foundations more than once whether it be the shades dont work or i find something new, but i will & already have purchased another bottle in the new lightest shade. I will def keep a bottle of this around. I love the "sapphire brightening effect" or whatever it is. I love the finish & performance, its gorgeous! I hope more people fall in love w/ this foundation as I did.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Christinaann5 2/24/2013 1:00:00 PM

wow! i am so glad that i gave this foundation a try. I have to say i am really impressed. I have a few CG foundations & have typically been happy w/ them. Outlast Stay Fabulous is just that, Fabulous! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~ CoverGirl is a well known, highly available drugstore cosmetics company available in most drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid as well as mass stores like Target, Walmart and Kmart. Availability & price will vary as with most drugstore products depending on your location as well as sales & discounts. The price to me personally is a little high esp for d/s product. But anymore, foundations are almost $10 each so i purchased mine at Walmart for $9.47 with a $1 off coupon so I paid around $9 which isnt bad but i wish it was a few dollars less. Would i buy again for the same price, probably. I would def suggests using coupons or waiting for sales. ~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~ CG Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is a great for most skin types. I think normal/dry skin like my own can wear this just be sure to moisturize well but those w/ combo/oily skin can also wear this since the formula is a thicker more natural/matte finish. Depending on how much is applied & which way its applied, coverage will vary. I like to just even out skin so i find one pump is way more than needed. I find this covers so well that concealer can be skipped if i add a bit more in areas like under eyes, spots, & blemishes. Whats nice is building up does not lead to cakeyness nor does it emphasize fine lines or pores. What i love about this foundation as well is I was worried that the lightest shade was going to be too dark or not cool enough from reading reviews but I find it matches my NW10 (i may even be lighter than that, im super pale) but the fndt shade 810 fits just fine, its slightly more neutral than cool but those with NC skin may see it leaning slightly too cool. I am glad 810 Ivory is light enough that it sets into skin. The coverage is wonderful. I like light coverage but have found Outlast to give medium to full if you build it up. I use half a pump & a damp sponge w/ setting spray or my Elf Powder brush to blend this out. Doesnt dry too fast either. It blends so easily, has a slight gel primer feel to it. It glides on easily like silicone & doesnt settle or cling to any of my dry areas being that its still a harsh winter climate here. I have norm to dry skin so this wears for 7-8 hrs before i see any fading. Long wearing, great coverage. With great coverage normally comes the heavy, im wearing makeup feeling that i dislike but not with this. It feels like skin & the scent dissipates during application. Ive had no breakouts or pimples appearing w/ some fndts ive tried since i do have sensitive skins at times. If i use a dab more under eyes & any hyper pigmented areas, i dont even have to use concealer. I like to wear a correcter under eyes but i could skip steps w/ this. I would suggests anyone giving this a shot bc i think its a great foundation. I am glad to see d/s companies giving us high quality makeup. ~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~ CG Outlast 3-in-1 Foundation comes in a nice glass jar included a PUMP! yes, a pump, a rare commodity in d/s foundations. The glass jar is thick but not super heavy. It will hold up w/ travel. The pump allows easy distribution of product. I like to use half a pump which i can do w/ this. The pump is a nice teal blue color. The lid stays on to keep the pump & product protected so no messes. The labeling information is the teal color as well. Shade number is located on the front bottom as well as on the back with the shade name. More information is also on the back of the jar. The packaging is simple but actually really nice. Its doesnt take up too much room, nothing bulky. I am pleased w/ the packaging. I havent had a problem w/ getting to the fndt but ill have to wait til the bottom of the jar to see if its hard to get to it all. Overall, this is def my new go to favorite foundation. I have 2 other favs too but so far this is beating them two. I'll def use this up & buy a backup or two, haha. I just really like it but i see this one bottle lasting awhile since very little is needed. I like to use this too w/ my fndts that are too dark and/or not enough coverage. I dunno how ill like this in the summer since i like light coverage when its hot but ill see. Def recommend to anyone esp those looking for a foundation that will provide coverage & lasting power. A few shades to pick from, the shades are similar to other CG foundations.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Kabuki on a Stick
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 12/20/2012 9:33:00 AM

I have to say this is a pretty great brush. Although i tend to neglect this brush for some odd reason, every time i use it i think i should def use this more often. ~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~ The Coastal Scents Kabuki on a Stick can be found only on the coastalscents website. Im sure there are other websites/manufacturers that make a similar brush though i havent seen it but i wasnt looking for it since I own this one. I purchased mine on Coastal Scents for around $6 which isnt bad. Not expensive esp for a face brush. ~~~~~~~~~ PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Kabuki on a Stick is a somewhat thicker short handled brush. The handle is a flat black and thick with no logo or labeling. (at least on mine it doesnt say anything) The ferrule is silver. The bristles themselves are natural hair and brown in tone. This brush is a very dense circular brush. At the very top is some slightly longer hairs which helps with its multipurpose uses. This brush is dense enough to apply thicker creams or liquids or blend out harsh lines. This also could be used to apply your makeup in a more heavy handed way or holding slightly further back for a lighter application. This brush is great for contouring or blending out contours and blushes. It can be used for mineral foundations as well. I have tried this for liquid foundation even though it is natural hair & not synthetic bristles & it worked pretty dang well. My favorite use is for blending out foundations and blush & bronzer. It buffs away any imperfections w/ ease. Its not scratchy or harsh. Its a really sturdy brush. It washes well and does take a little longer to dry being a natural hair brush. Be sure to be careful not to get water into ferrule of any brush for it may disturb the glues holding the brush together. Dry brushes at an angle downward to avoid this. Overall, this is a great little brush to have. I dont know why i forget about it, maybe since i have too many brushes now but i do love reaching it for it when i have more time to spend perfecting my makeup. Its a great buffing and blending brush. Its dense & firm & soft. A great brush for foundation & blush & bronzer. I would repurchase if i ever needed to but its held up for a few years now and cannot be happier!

Moisturizers -Ponds - Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 11/24/2012 10:34:00 AM

wow! i am so surprised that it took me thing long to try these. Ive only tried a very few Ponds products and i havent been super impressed or turned off by their products un til these gem! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ponds Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream can be found in some mass stores like Walmart & Target. Ive only seen these in my travel section in small sample size containers which are priced at $1.47 which i think is a good deal. Also, larger and cheaper containers can be found online on various sites. Amazon may be the best one. I'll just purchase mine in small containers that way Im not toting around this huge container. The price is great. Cheap and affordable. ~~~~~~~~~~ FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~~~ The Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle cream is a very nice thick cream that moisturizes and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. It fills in fine lines and moisturizes which is what ive been looking for in a cream for quite some time. I use this as a face primer. I find it does exactly what ive been looking for in a primer. I do use my Hard Candy or other silicone based primers around my eye area and this around the rest. I place it on and let it sit for a minute or two and then apply my liquid/cream foundation. My face is not oily or combo its more normal to dry esp in colder months. I do suffer from eczema but not on my face area typically, thankfully. I do get dry spots esp around my eye area, and cheek areas so i needed something that would moisturize those areas while providing a smooth layer to allow my foundations to apply w/out flaking or settling in the dry spots. I think this is my new go to primer for my face. I havent seen if it makes my foundation stay any longer or less. Ill update on that when i have a day to watch and see. I dont notice it fading any sooner. This cream is on the thicker & more emollient side. Not sure how those with more oily skin would like this or not. I think this is a great daily cream for those w/ more normal to dry skin. I dont know how it helps with wrinkles as i dont think any cream could GET RID of wrinkles but this def helps erase the fine lines that causes makeup mishaps. It also leaves my skin feeling refreshed and smooth and not tight or dry. Some lotions leave my skin still feeling parched and needing more moisture, not this one. Its great to leave on over night for a nice dewy look to the skin. I love this stuff and glad i gave it a shot bc i dont want to be w/out. As with any skin product, i watch how much i use bc my skin can get used to it & it quits working (it may be only me but its odd) So ill continue to use this as my night cream on some nights and will def continue to use this as my face primer for work and day time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Ponds Rujeveness Cream travel size jar comes in a small plastic jar with a screw on/off lid thats white in color. The jar is hard plastic, sturdy for traveling. The lid screws on and off easily. I am not sure how the bigger sizes look but im happy with the travel size. It holds a good amount of product & since so little is needed this little jar will last quite some time. Great for traveling too. Overall, this cream has quickly become one of my favorites and it provides great moisture unlike most affordable creams ive tried. This is def a repurchase item when i run out. Would recommend to those with more normal to dry skin looking for something to smooth and soothe your skin. Its great for giving an even smooth surface for your makeup. Great product. Def interested in trying tho other Ponds creams that are with this one. I will update as i find out if this is made in the u.s. or mexico bc i know people say there is a difference like the Nivea cream. Either way, i love this cream!! Even better if there are long term affects.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Facial Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
Christinaann5 9/2/2012 1:09:00 AM

I have two of the travel or sample sizes of this face cleanser and i have to say its good but not my favorite. I do find its great for morning washes. I have used up one and working on the second one and i think i can finally give my thoughts on it.. ~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Clean & Clear Mrning Burst Facial Cleanser is readily available in most drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid as well as mass stores like Walmart, Target & Kmart. Its one of the bigger facial care lines. Its pretty affordable as well. If you are on a budget like me, look in the travel section for small sizes of facial cleansers, its a great way to try new ones w/out the worry if it doesnt work out. I bought two- one for travel & one for home. The travel size is only $1 which is great. The full size is around $4-5. I do find coupons in the P&G Saver sometimes so look for one as well. The price is good esp since you only need a little bit & it last awhile. ~~~~~~~~ FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~~~ Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser is a thicker gel like cleanser thats orange in color w/ small orange microbeads throughout for a light exfoliation. Its not too harsh for those like myself, that have normal to sensitive skin. I dont find it rubs off too much of my skin leaving it raw like some. It rubs on w/ a tiny bit of foam. I like mine to foam alot unless its a moisturizing cleanser. This one is a good medium. It has a nice orange citrus smell which does perk up my senses. I can see the claims of waking you up being true. It is very refreshing but some may not like it. The scent is strong but does dissipate over time. After cleansing, my skin feels clean. Not too tight but its not something i can use on a daily basis bc i can see it draining out too much moisture that my face needs. This would work good for those w/ more combo skin types. My pores do feel clean though. This is a great every other day cleanser for me when my skin needs a wake me up and me as a matter of fact :) only a small amount is needed. i use about a dime size amount which is plenty and gently rub in circular motions on my face in shower or sink. I then let it soak for a minute to allow it to penetrate & then i rinse off. I dont feel any residue. I always make sure to moisturize after using any type of exfoliant since i have more dry skin. This is a nice citrus smelling cleanser that i do use every once in awhile. I have a few other cleansers i prefer but this isnt the worst either. It smells amazing- its refreshing for sure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Clean & Clear Morning Burst Cleanser comes in a standard hard plastic container that is clear which allows you to see the cool cleanser & beads. The lid is a screw on pump dispenser that is purple in color. The packaging is colorful and bright- just like the formula. Its very simple & effective. It drew me in. (i have the travel size which is a small plastic tube that has a twist on/off lid that is squeezable, simple & travel friendly.) The pump allows just enough to be dispersed. This isnt the best for packing up to go but like i said, check the travel aisle for a more travel friendly version. I like the packaging. I like the pump. It makes it nice & easy. Overall, this is a good cleanser. Its mild and works. It makes my skin feel clean and refreshed. Its a great smell if you enjoy citrus/orange smells. This is def good for those with more combo to oily skin but can be used for most skin types. Esp as a weekly treatment to refresh dull tired skin. I am not sure if ill repurchase since i do have other cleansers that i enjoy more. Its not that i dont like it but i have more normal to dry skin so i like something more moisturizing but it does work good!

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Studio 2 in 1 Conditioning Gloss (all colors)
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 8/9/2012 11:20:00 PM

I have to say that i am really not a lip girl meaning, i use chapstick or really Carmex all day everyday. I suffer from extremely dry lips (either being from having just general dry eczema prone skin or also allergies & i grind my teeth at night so my mouth is clenched closed so it could be any of these factors) So i dont use a lot of lip products. I do purchase them and try to use them when i feel like my lips arent so bad. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Elf Studio 2 in 1 Conditioning Lip Gloss can be found in all shades on the eyeslipsface website. These also can be found in various Target, Sears Grand & Kmart stores. I have also recently seen a few shades in my local Dollar Tree stores so give your area a look if you like these. The price is $3. To me, its not too bad. I know considering this is decent quality for the price. Im not an expert by any means on lip products. But def look for coupon codes or sales to try or buy these! ~~~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ The Elf 2 in 1 Conditioning lip glosses are a nice gloss. The gloss isnt overly sticky or tacky. I actually think its a tad bit moisturizing. I like a gloss that isnt sticky & that doesnt dry up the lips further. These arent super moisturizing but dont leave my lips flaky or dry. The gloss is a duo- it has a clear gloss that mixes with the colored gloss. I have three shades, Supermodel- which is a nice bright toned peachy orange w/ a slight pink undertone w/ small glitter throughout. this goes on sheer but still gives a slight pink tint to the lips. This shade can be worn alone for a soft glossy look or on top of any lipstick esp those on the pink or peachy side. The other shade i have is Pink Pout which is a true nude (my lip color) Its a nice medium toned maroon pink. If that makes sense. Its a nice lip color. This is matte in finish which makes it a really great everyday gloss. This can be worn alone or on top of any lipstick esp the red, maroon or nude shades. This is a tad more pigmented than the previous shade. But not super duper opaque. This is one of my favorites since i can pull it off. This will be great for those like myself that are timid to try the bright or dark colors. This is very natural. The last shade i have is Plumtastic. This is a nice deep plum purple with a touch of silver sparkle throughout. This is not super dark but can slightly darken up some lipsticks esp though on the purple or mauve/rose side. This is a nice deep color. The formula glides on nicely. The shimmer in some doesnt bother my lips nor does it stick after the gloss is gone & hurt the lips. The gloss glides nicely when used alone & also on top of lipsticks. These wear decently as well. They stay on my lips for around 2 to 3 hrs. These can easily be reapplied if needed w/out them clumping up. I can still smooth my lips together while they are on. They give a nice sheen or gloss to the lips w/out being too much. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 2 in 1 Glosses come in a nice flexible see through plastic. There is a larger tube filled w/ clear "conditioning" gloss and a smaller inside tube filled w/ the colored gloss. The clear gloss gives the sheen to the colored gloss. The packaging is see through with a black twist on/off lid. The Elf logo & product name is written in black on the tube. The shade name is located on a small sticker on the lid. The tube squeezes easy allowing the amount needed for the lips. The top top is a doe foot brush applicator w/ a hole in the middle that once squeezed, disperses the gloss onto the doe foot brush. The brush helps to glide the gloss onto lips. I do think the applicator does get dirty esp if pairing on top of a lipstick but can easily be wiped off w/ a baby wipe. The packaging is simple & effective. Easy to use, can fit into your pocket or bag. Great for on the go touch ups. I really do like the packaging. Overall, these are really great lipglosses. Great for those who are looking for something they can wear on a daily basis. Something thats not drying and can really be worn anytime. Great shades to pick from and i think they are a great value. Ive bought a few shades & may repurchase!

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - Profusion-Color Me Glow 12 Shades eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 7/30/2012 4:46:00 PM

Wow, i think its amazing that i find some really great products at my local dollar stores. It may be I am a frugal makeup buyer & dont have high end makeup or high expectations from any makeup product so I really have found some gems. Profusion makes some great eyeshadows & these are a neat little set of shadows. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Profusion Color Me Glow Palettes arent around everywhere but ive seen them in various places like Big Lots, Dollar Tree and Rite Aid stores. They arent limited edition but arent around for long. I do see Profusion products in some Ross stores as well. I do really think they are priced very cheap. These palettes ive seen around $1-1.50 which is great esp considering how much you get for the price! Dirt cheap but great makeup! ~~~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ Profusion Color Me Glow 12 Shades palettes come in various shades. I have 4 of them and each of them have 12 coordinating shadows in each. All 12 shadows have a very heavy glitter overspray on the top layer but once you get through that layer, it becomes more of a metallic looking shadow which makes them great for adding a nice sheen to the lid with a thin layer or built up for a more night time dramatic look. They are pigmented enough dry but can be used foiled or wet for a more dramatic look as well. I dont have oily lids so i do suggests an eye primer for those who do for most drugstore/cheap eyeshadows may have more chances of creasing or fading. I always use my Elf Eyelid primer & these shadows will stay put for hours w/ little to no fading or creasing. These shadows perform just as well as my other drugstore shadows. These do have some fine glitter throughout. If you dont want fall out of glitter, gently tap the brush to knock off most of the glitter & also blend with a fluffy brush will also knock most of the glitter away. I am a neutral eyeshadow girl so too much glitter is not okay with me but these shadows are great for opening up the eyes. Placing them on the lids or inner corners allows the light to reflect opening up the eyes. These shadows are soft so there is a tiny bit of loose powder in the palette when tapping your brush into it. I expect this w/ such a cheap shadow but if your gentle, there is barely any fallout on the face when applying. These palettes have 12 great colors. I have a few & i have any color i need. I will include a short description of each shade number/palette i own & the colors in each when i go and check them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Profusion Color Me Glow palettes come in the standard cheap hard plastic rectangular compact. The bottom is shiny black with a sticker of shade number on the bottom. The lid is see through with Profusion logo & product name in white metallic writing. The lid hasnt cracked or broke on me yet but i dont travel often. So beware of that. I dont think the packaging is nice but its not horrible. It holds my eyeshadows in place. I care more about the product inside. These palettes are slim enough that they can be stacked to take up less space in your collection. The shadow pans are rectangular & run a little deep. So you do get a good amount of each shadow. The last two shadows on both sides are placed differently. They do include a double ended foam tip applicator for those who like to use them. I dont use them but i do save some just incase i do. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap palette w/ some bright & neutral colors with metallic finishes to add some dimension to your looks or just looking for some good cheap shadows to add to your collection, Profusion makes great eyeshadows. I have a few palettes from them & havent been disappointed yet. Now some colors are better than others but overall, really great shadows. so if you are wary & have seen them & wondered, I enjoy them. Dont go in thinking they are going to be amazing & blow your socks off though bc you may be disappointed. I like them & use these palettes alot!

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Midnight
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 7/30/2012 4:33:00 PM

The Elf Studio Cream liners are a great affordable choice for those looking for a great cream liner for easy lining of the eyes. I use to only use pencil or liquid liner but cream or gels give a nice defined look without the dramatic opaque line as a liquid would. Love these liners & Elf has a few choices of shades to pick from for whatever your look may be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Elf Studio Cream Eyeliners can be found online on the eyeslipsface website as well as some Target, Kmart & Sears Grand stores. These are also available on some other online stores. Google should be your friend. This will vary in each town/city. The price, affordable. These cream liners will only cost $3!! yes less than half the price of even drugstore alternatives and def far less expensive than the higher end cream or gel liners. These are great for beginners who want something to learn with or those on a budget like myself! ~~~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ The Elf Studio Cream Liner in "Midnight" is a nice dark navy midnight blue. This is a nice dark royal blue. The color does look a tad darker in the jar & slightly lighter once applied. This will dry true to color in jar. "Midnight" is a great liner for those looking for something different than a brown or black. Great for those w/ brown, blue or hazel eyes. really any eye color will look great with this liner. I love to use this liner with my more blue or gray looks. I have extremely pale skin so sometimes i dont want the harsh black line but want something different than brown. This is a great addition to my other cream liners. I reach for one of my Elf cream liners on a daily basis. The cream liner glides on effortlessly. It was easy for me being my first cream liner. I use my very fine angled paint brush (better than any liner brush ive since bought so check your local art supply stores for eye liner brushes, theyre cheap & work amazingly) I dip my brush in & glide along my top lash line. I have also used these on my water line & havent had any issues & i do wear contacts. It will react differently for each person though so beware. These liners do remain creamy while applying & will dry or set within the minute. I havent had issues w/ them being to wet or transferring while letting them dry. Those w/ monolids may need to be careful so these dont transfer. The Elf Studio cream liners stay put all day long with no fading or flaking. I dont have oily lids though so wear time will differ. Topping these w/ a loose powder or powder shadow similar in color will also soak up any oils that will cause these to fade or transfer. I do sometimes top these just so i fill in the These will last over 8 hrs & look exactly as i did when i applied. I actually have to use my makeup wipes & sometimes remover to get the liner off. They wear very well. Hold up against heat & humidity. All this makes these great options for anyone looking for definition of the eyes & dont want the hassles of liquid liners but something more defining than a pencil. The liners are pigmented, opaque, show up while in one smooth line. Can be used for defined & natural w/ thin barely there lines or can be used for thick & dramatic lines. This liner is also nice to learn the wing look since it glides on w/ out pulling or skipping. & you have a little bit of time to wipe away w/ a qtip if you mess up like me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Elf Studio Cream Eyeliners come in a nice hard plastic square jar. The jar fits into the palm of my hand. The packaging is a tad bulky but nothing major. The jar itself is see through allowing you to see or decipher between other shades if you own more than one like myself. (they have also since repackaged the cream eyeshadows in the same packaging) The lid is flat black w/ white elf logo & product name on the middle. There is a tiny little sticker with the shade name placed on the bottom of the jar. I do wish they included the name somewhere on the lid or made it bigger on the sticker since its hard to see. Other than that minor flaw, the packaging is simple, sleek and stores easily. You will need to find a place if you collect more than one so they will take up a bit of space in your collection. But they do look nice all together. I like the packaging. The cream liner doesnt take up the whole bottom jar. There is a layer of plastic on the outside of the jar. I wish they would give more but i think they give 4.7 grams which is alot of liner. The liner will last awhile even with daily use i still havent made it through half way. They havent dried super fast like some of my other gel/cream liners. But Elf has/does send out already dried up liners so beware. If its hard when you get it, its a dud. So ask to send it back or return. But i did save mine instead ( i have a video on my youtube channel on how to save dried up gel/cream liners. username: christinaanna5) Its simple & easy & allows more use of my cream liners. As with any eye product, suggested lifetime is 3-6 months then toss to avoid any bacterial/infections. These last that long & more. I think they give you just the right amount of product. Not too much that you end up having to throw out more than half & not too little where you can only use it a few times. Overall, Midnight is a gorgeous dark navy blue. Midnight is a perfect name. Def recommend to all & will def repurchase when i get through this jar of it. I have all of the shades & love and adore these cream liners!

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - Times Sq Tangerine 112
rated 4 of 5
Christinaann5 7/16/2012 11:03:00 PM

I forgot how much i really do like these nail polishes. This color is great, all year round. I hate having to put thought into my nails on somedays, I want something that i can throw on and know its not too much or seasonal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The New York Color Cosmetics Long Wear Nail Enamel can be found in some drugstores like Rite Aid & CVS as well as some mass discount stores like KMart, Walmart & Target. The price is great, super cheap. These cost $1.. Yes one dollar thats why i collected almost every shade. I love nail polish & its cheap but it works good! ~~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~ The New York Color Long Wear Enamel is a great basic nail polish. Times Square Tangerine is a great color. Its a mid tone coral with a tangerine undertone. Its a great step from your basic red. This gives a nice pop of color to the nails. Yet its not too bright or shocking so it can be worn with any outfit. This is a great color year round but i esp reach for it during the spring and summer months. I dont like reds for some reason, i feel like they make me look paler but this is close enough for me. Its a great color. The performance on these polishes are great as well. I am rough on my hands so no matter what base/top coat i use, i dont get more than a few days out of any polish so these hold up with my China Glaze and OPI. They do chip easier but w/ a good base/top coat, they are good. I switch up my polish alot so i dont score these too low. These wear for around 4-5 days before chipping. Which works well for me. Times Square Tangerine #112 is a great fun color. I suggests using a base coat & then using one to two layers to enhance opacity. The color is pigmented but i like to ensure my nails are coated well which also helps with chipping. Not too much or too little. i have a few different polishes that seem to eat at my nails & make them brittle, these $1 polishes surprisingly have never done that. I dont have any problems w/ these. They also remove easily. Which is a major plus for me as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The New York Color Cosmetics Long Wearing Nail Enamels come in your standard hard glass bottle. They are see through allowing you to see the color inside. A plus, I always want to see what the polish looks like. There is black writing/labeling. The shade name is located under the NYC logo. Big enough so you can see. The ingredients & such are located on the back of the bottle. The lid & handle/brush is gray silver which twists on & off easily. No hassles opening or shutting. The brush is your basic. Nothing horrible or amazing. The brush picks up the enamel easily & allowing you to coat the nail easily. The formula also is thick but not too thick. The brush is decent. Just like those that cost alot more. Overall, if you are looking for a nice basic coral orange color or are too afraid or sick of the reds, def give this a shot. If you are like me & like to switch up your polishes alot & dont want to spend a fortune on your polish collection, these are pretty great polishes i must say. I will and have repurchased these & will def pick up another Times Square Tangerine since its great year round! Really have enjoyed it!
