Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Velvet eyeshadow- Fawn Over Me
Chinadoll3 12/6/2012 5:15:00 PM
This eyeshadow is absolutely beautiful. Initially, i chose MAC's woodwinked as an all over gold shimmery lid colour...HUGE mistake. On my NW15/20 skin tone it was too orange and nothing like the colour i was aiming for. After i got patina by MAC and loved it, however the texture is slightly "dry" and worked better for a crease rather than lid shade. I got this product at an event and use it almost every day. The texture is velvety and smooth and works so well with patina in the crease and satin taupe in the outer V. The texture is comparable to MAC's veluxe pearl. I would definitely recommend this as a basic lid colour shadow, im confident it would work on most fair to tan skin tones.

Liquid -Illamasqua - Skin Base foundation
Chinadoll3 11/3/2012 11:05:00 AM
Ahhh, I want to love this foundation so badly after spending almost £30 on it, but i just cant! I have oily skin, and although this claims to suit all skin types it just creates an oily mess on me that turns cakey when i blot with powder and is removed all together with a blotting sheet. The MA at the counter matched me with shade 5 and i think this is slightly too dark and pink/orange toned for my skin (around NW15/20 in MAC) I am really disappointed. I have been applying with a real techniques stippling brush, but i will try with a sigma F82 and update. I dont use a primer and i set with rimmel stay matte, and this will last less then 5/6 hours. The finish is gorgeous, dewy and light, whilst providing medium coverage, if only it were more long lasting and held its own against oil then i'd love it. This will probably become an evening foundation only - although this does photograph VERY shiny, even with powder, i dont think it has an spf though.

Lipstick -MAC - Hue
Chinadoll3 7/8/2012 11:03:00 AM
I put off buying this for agggges because I own sooo many MAC nude/pink lipsticks but, I am so glad i finally did! First of all, the colour is gorgeous, a MLBB shade, with a really glossy finish, (for those wondering, yes it is similar to beehive by 17, but this has a nicer colour payoff...and more peachy) Its perfect for so many looks, and makes you appear more polished and perfected. I adore this, and can totally see the hype, hot-foot it to MAC and grab one right now!

Polishes -Essie - Fiji
Chinadoll3 7/8/2012 10:41:00 AM
I hate this nail polish, I hate it with a passion. As my first (and only!) Essie nail polish i had high hopes, i saw it in the shop and the milky pink drew me in. I assumed it would either transfer as a smooth and creamy pale pink or as a sheer glossy colour; both appropriate for school. I was horribly mistaken. When i put the first coat on it looked streaky and cheap, I popped on a second coat: still not opaque, and definitely to streaky to pass for sheer, third coat: messy and thick. Finally deciding i had nothing to loose, went on to a forth: thick, gloopy, patchy, white nails. The pink seems to dissapear and the resulting colour is unflattering and fake. Also i takes forever to dry due to the amount of layers and dents and smudges really easily, if you can get passed that its actually fairly long wearing, but i never leave it on long enough to test its longevity. HATE HATE HATE this, save your self the frustration and money, dont get it.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
Chinadoll3 9/22/2011 11:55:00 AM
Okay so i suppose it is early days to review this foundation, BUT i am a huge fan! I am young and although i go have acne i really dont want the flawless finish this foundation gives, for EVERDAY because it can look a little artificial, but i love it for nights out. I use the oilly/combo version everyday but i use a damp sponge to sheer the application, the reason for wearing this so much being the longevity of this foundation is OUTSTANDING. for oily skin i cannot stress how amazing this is! i have the shade 150 buff which is a little to dark for my NW20 skin (im planning on picking up the lighter one when this one runs out), However having tried many foundation this beats bourjois healthy mix(£10), bare minerals(£23?), dream satin liquid(10?), LMTM(£33), infact ANY tinted moisturiser..im looking at you nivea touch of foundation(10?) and no7 dual protection(£11), MAC msf(£18.50) in terms of both coverage and longevity. The price is brilliant compared to some of these, around £12 i believe. I however really hate the packaging! Get a pump Revlon! i poured half the bottle out on my hand the first time i used it! and i prefer plastic to glass because im reallly clumsy and i live in fear of dropping this product. Its not difficult to remove when you want to with cleanser but this stayed on through my oily skin, cardio and toning workout, and a 9 hour day. I am SO impressed. I apply a ''aknecare'' cream before which acts as a lovely primer, apply it with the damp sponge (it actually ruined one of my paddle foundation brushes because even after about 6 washes it still clung to the bristles! - so sad, it was a great brush) pop on some concealer (collection 2000 lasting perfection) under the eyes, and also blemishes depending on my skin that day..usually this covers pretty much all my imperfections without seeming fake somehow and them liberally apply rimmel stay matte powder(this doesnt have a completly matte finish, but not dewy either and i feel this amazing powder in combination with this foundation makes me only have to blot maximum once a day which is amaziing for an oil slick like me!) with an elf powder brush(this is really the only brush i've discovered for making this powder not cake) it hasn't brroken me out so far (touch wood!!) and i've been using it nearly 3 weeks. (ill try to update this in a few weeks time) I really do love this foundation and people have commented on how clear my skin looks. i wont be without this from now on, its just amazing! UPDATE: Still loving this, though I noticed buff was a little dark for my light skin so i ended up buying a second in 110(the name escapes me) Only downside is now i cant use any other foundations since the longevity seems lacking in comparision. Even so, you need to take time applying, recently i havent been and ive seen my skin becoming more oily and the foundation looking a little off when i top up with powder..could just be my powder though (maybelline dream matte fyi..not loving it - need to get another stay matte for my makeup bag) All in all still love it, and it hasn't broken me out as far as i can tell! Also one person mentions on here it has sparkles in it.. I think they are confusing it with Revlon Photoready - COLORSTAY has absolutely no sparkles of any kind, whatsoever!

Concealers -Garnier - Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller
Chinadoll3 8/5/2011 4:57:00 PM
Aghhhh !! i honestly cannot stand this! Its AWFUL! right first problemis that i chose the shade 2 because of the very limited range, when i looked at the colour of the product it was definetly more of a match to my skin then shade 1 ..even though im fair this looked very milky and white-ish. So the next day i wear it out, throughout the day something isnt right under my eyes. I cant quite put my finger on it, they dont look bright and awake they just look wrong. it looks terrible. After this i tried it repeatedly trying to get it to perform properly, eventually i gave up. Then this morning i found this in my makeup kit and mindlessly swatched it for some reason. Then a few hours later i glanced at my hand. It was bright orange! its so off from my skintone i cant believe it, its not even a skin colour it is dark orange, i am shocked! the colour change is so dramatic, i've never seen something oxidize so badly! Something else that bothered me was the formula, it was so thin, i felt i'de nevr get good coverage, it looked streaky and messy on. When i finally built it up it looked so cakey and disgusting i wanted to remove it. It was also VERY yellow, i wish it had a pink undertone to brighten - that probably would have saved this product and avoided the oxidizing thing. The other issue i had was that it was SO messy under my eyes when i first applied (forget that clean perfect line of it under the womans eyes in the advert!) i can however say that the feeling of applying this at 7am when i get ready is SO nice! really refreshing and lovely, i am not however happy to put up with ghasty orange undereyes in return for this. i got this at half price for £6 and i certainly dont think its worth that let alone the £12 it is full price!

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
Chinadoll3 7/12/2011 11:09:00 AM
As far as makeup removers go im kinda meh. As long as it gets it off fast, and easily im happy. This does this for sure..it literally feels like its just lifting it up and off, it doesnt sting my eyes. I got a smaller bottle which has a terrible design which makes it ver easy to over pour on cotton pad! Its one of the ''split'' makeup removers that are made mostly of oil that separate from the other ingredients. Which unfortunatly means this stuff is super super oily! like nothing else, it leaves a really unpleasant greasiness on around my eyes, i do wash my face after so its not a massive deal but its annoying and since i already have oily skin im conscience of putting even more on..but for those that arent bothered by this wow! fab; gets off primer, concealer, shadow, pencil, mascara(non-waterproof) (It says: for lashes, lids and lips, but i havent tried it with lips) everything and doesnt smear it over your face like some products do. i dont think i will repurchase because im on the hunt for a perfect, cheaper eyemakeup remover..£14.50 is a little expensive for a remover, for me.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
Chinadoll3 6/29/2011 6:19:00 PM
At last! A powder that completely gets rid of shine and never ever looks chalky, cakey, unnatural, powdery. It looks soo soo natural i cant stress it enough. Used over a liquid it reduces the shine for about 3/4 hours befor i just whip it out gently press it on my t-zone and bam, i look like i've just reaaplied a whole face of makeup. I am incredibly self conscious about my oily skin and having this with me makes me feel so confident because i know i can do it so eatly even without a mirror as it just blends into my skin. I am NW20 and wear shade 03. Its never broken me out and works also to touch up mineral foundations throughout the day. I apply with a variety of tools: flat top brushes, sponges, kabukis, fluffy face brushes and even the little puff that comes with it (not the best quality... why is it suede?! but i can deal with it if needs be) I genuinly cant do my makeup without this. Beats rimmel stay matte, collection 2000, and natural collection by far. Its only about £7 and is amazing. I love this stuff and will buy forever. I am interested in buying MAC's msf but i highly doubt i'll like it as much.

Chinadoll3 6/22/2011 11:37:00 AM
Ahh Naked Lunch. This pretty pinky shimmer chanmpagne colour with a frost finish is stunning. The word that springs to mind it innocent? I use this for a neutral all over lid colour, a brow, cheek and inner corner highlight -everything! Its so versatile and beautiful. Its not extremely pigmented but i always use a 239 with this so its not a problem. So so so pretty my favourite eyeshadow of all time..i cant believe i havent reviewed it sooner! Please pick it up next time your at MAC you wont be dissapointed. I think it would work for all skintones and ages (im NW20) So unique, gorgeous and natural - but with oomph! Love Love Love.

Bronzers -Bourjois - Delice de Poudre
Chinadoll3 6/22/2011 11:26:00 AM
Another gem from Bourjois! I hardly ever wear bronzers, but the adorable packaging (I cant understand why other dont like it!) and the fact that it is virtually matte (you see no shimmer on the skin at all!) grabbed my attention. I still dont really reach for bronzer because it looks a littleodd on my fair skin, But i am willing to pick this up and try it ehn i develop more of a tan. This and Baremineral warmth and gorgeous mattes, and Benefit 10 is my favorite shimmer. Try it out for the £6 something it was you cant go wrong. They dont seem to be particualy orange based so you dont look fake or ''tango'd'' Really Beautiful and i love using this on others with slightly darker skin. Its not overly pigmented but still delivers colour, is buildable and does it job! Gorgeous!

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Hypershine Gloss - ALL
Chinadoll3 6/22/2011 11:20:00 AM
Sticky? yes Ghastly lingering smell? Definetly Weird Metallic finish? Uh huh Unique? No Someone tell me something good about this!? i have it in fairy and i cant even stand putting it on because of the disgusting smell. It feels and looks like ''kiddie'' makeup, something a 6 year old would use. Im so dissapointed, and regret not getting a liquid lipstick. I am NEVER buying this again even if i run out which is highly unlikely given i hate it so much it sits at the back of my lips drawer unused and unwanted. Its nothing special or unique colour wise, even if the packaging does look like a Stila lip glaze knock off. Stick with barry m, MAC, or NARS. dont be tempted by the £1.50 pricetag. i dont even think its worth that, to be honest.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Florabundance lipglass
Chinadoll3 6/20/2011 12:35:00 PM
Im still undecided about this lipglass. On one hand it is a soft milky pink, which reminds me very much of a nuder version of NARS turkish delight, It gives gorgeous shine and looks pretty and chic. But, This is something that looks best on top of a lipstick..somthing with peach/pink is good (Plink! is nice for this) It tones it down and adds a brilliant glossy finish. However alone, this just sinks into the lines in your lips and washes you out a bit well on me (NW20 skintone!) Gorgeous colour though..bit sticky not great if you dont like tacky glosses! But lovely, and i do reccomend.. i wouldnt repurchasse because theres so many other MAC lipglasses i want to explore..but if none work i will return to this gem. (just to let you know the rubbish mac lettering is rubbing off mine a bit!)

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation ] [DISCONTINUED]
Chinadoll3 6/20/2011 12:25:00 PM
This foundation applys like a dream, very soft and glowy effect. All the colours in range are definetly yellow based, and i having pink undertones dont actually mind this..it seems to neutralize it. The colour is almost a perfect shade match (Im NW20 and a shade 51 in this) I used to apply it with a elf powder brush but reach for a more conventional foundation brush when i need more coverage. It does cover discoloration, i'de say its a light-medium coverage foundation thats buildable, but i tend to need a concealer (Mac studio finish is perfect!) to cover blemishes. I set it all with a powder (Dream matte is good for this i find because it doesnt stop it looking natural and make it chalky and uneven) But i feel that i need to blot every couple of hours with this because i get oil breaking through making my nose very shiny.. even if i use with primer powder and setting spray. its such a shame because it looks so natural and beautiful, i think this would suit normal-dry skins a little better but if anyone knows how to help my problem let me know because i think this is an amazing foundation! This hasnt broken out my very acne prone, combo-oily, congested skin. For now i'll stick to BM but when i want to change it up i always go for this! Give it a go at the price (Around £10 i think) you cant really go wrong, watch out though is you have very very sensitive skin because i think this is perfumed.. very lightly! I think it smell gorgeous - like suncream!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
Chinadoll3 6/20/2011 12:13:00 PM
I reallly dont like this. I have fairly long lashes, and i usually seek mascara for a tiny bit of length, a bit more volume and a lot of blackness as mine are quite fair. But this is awful - it clumps and gives you about 5 spidery clumps of lashes instead of fanining them all out. The wand picks up far to much mascara and i think the packaging is awkward and looks and feels cheap and unimpressive. The spoon wand almost ''pivots'' i suppose to allow you to get to the smaller lashes but it just makes it difficult. If your looking for a natural look I'de go for maybelline great lash or if your looking for a realy false lash effect (which this clearly isnt - it just looks rubbish and tacky) then try w7 big lash which is a steal! I got mine for about £2.50 and its the best mascara i've ever used in my life! I'll use this product if its the only thing i have but otherwise its useless for me, although i have a couple of friends who adore it it certainly isnt for me.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
Chinadoll3 6/17/2011 10:55:00 AM
Wow. i was so mad when i stupidly got this product, THEN read negative reviews (dumb i know.) Anyway, i tried it out and woooah! i do not get all this bad feedback! i loooooove this foundation its amazing! it hasnt broke me out so far, it has amazing coverage, without looking cakey and powdery. Topped off with the mineral veil this is Flawless. Perfect from someone with acne/acne scars like me. It keeps me completly matte throughout the day if i use MAC spf 50 face protect, which is brilliant for me as i feel less embarressed about shine. It leaves no weird ''metallic'' shine on my face like i've heard others say. I feel like im not harming my skin, and dont feel so guilty about putting on foundation. It applys beautifully with the BM brush and i dont need to use loads. Love this and i will absolutly buy it forever. I recently left it in my makeupbag, when on a brief trip and when my luggage didnt arrive back home i didnt know how i'de do my makeup without it - its been a challenge going back to traditional liquid foundation! I wont go back ever! Try it, you wont be dissapointed.
