I'm surprised at the negative reviews this mascara has received, as I LOVE the results from mine! I also bought this during the pre-sale, & I'm very happy I did. The wand is somewhat long & thin. Don't let the name scare you... the wand does not vibrate out of control, & you can't even really see it actually move. It vibrates just enough to cover your lashes in one quick swipe (& without having to work the wand through by zig-zagging). This mascara lasted all day on me without budging at all. No smudges, no clumps, no flakes, & no spidery lashes, either. I tend to not use mascara on my lower lashes, but I love how it looked when I tried it with Lancome's Oscillation. I will definitely purchase this again when it is released to the public. (Just in case you're wondering... the wand is pre-loaded with a battery already)
I was very excited to try this product, but it was a great disappointment. I know I'm the minority (thusfar, at least)... but I disliked it enough to send the product back to Sephora after trying it on 3 occasions. The brush is fairy large, & in so being, it is very easy to use. It's not as weird as it looks, & you will be able to coat every lash easily. My complaint is with the formula of the mascara itself. It was a creamy, thick, messy mascara that didn't seem to ever dry enough on my lashes. The result was a heavy, straight & smudgy look on me. If I could just rate the brush... sure, it would get 100%. But the formula itself? Dreadful. I would never repurchase this item.
I used to love this scent, but stopped using it some time ago. I just tried Victoria's Secret Supermodel perfume, & it is an exact dup of Realm on me!
Wow. Tried this today (thanks to the 40% discount on beauty sets last month), & it smells exactly like Realm for Women on me. Love the scent, but just wish it had a new twist to it!
Just tried this spray & although it is VERY pretty on my hair, the can is totally defective! It won't stop spraying, as it is stuck... I have the can in a bag as I write this & I can still hear it hissing LOL I definitely like the effect on my hair... I will most likely get a replacement can when I return this one.
Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Godyssey Disguise False Eyelashes Feathers
ChevygaL4 9/29/2006 10:44:00 PM
I like these... but the feathers seem to congregate at the inner corner of my eye. They are super easy to apply, I had them on in a matter of seconds. Purchased from State Fair in NJ - great for Halloween!
Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Fantasy Lengths GLITTER False Eyelashes
ChevygaL4 9/29/2006 10:13:00 PM
I'm still a beginner with falsies, but I do like these lashes. My only complaint is that they are too short for the length of my eye. The lashes themselves are are great long length, but the band they are attached to does not stretch from the inner to outer corner of my eyes. Well, lets add another complaint... the glitter does tend to shed quite easily. They are pretty though!
Found this at a discount warehouse for $1.99 - the only color they had was #3530 - Loose Highlighter. I do agree with other reviewers... it is a little too dark for my light skin, but I like the packaging idea. For $1.99, I really have no serious complaints =o)
Mascara -Revlon - Colorstay lash tint [DISCONTINUED]
ChevygaL4 1/6/2006 9:40:00 PM
AMAZING! I found this at my local Big Lots store (was an impulse buy... I had never seen it before & I hadn't yet read the reviews on here), & I'm in love with it. It cost me $1.99 for the full size Lash Tint & it was in a bonus pack so I got a full-size Colorstay Eyeliner in the same shade for free. After reading the reviews, I was careful to just touch & zig-zag the wand over my lower lashes. I can't even describe the results. My lashes feel normal, they aren't heavily coated, & they are not stiff at all. No clumping, either & definitely no smudging (I applied this right before bed last night , & it's still on today - over 18 hours later with no smearing or anything) I'm going to buy the rest of the store's stock before someone beats me to it!
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Cherry Blossom Shimmer Mist
ChevygaL4 11/10/2005 10:50:00 PM
I am in LOVE! Walked around my local Bath & Body Works store tonight & nothing caught my eye until I was just about to leave the store. I sprayed this on me & immediately fell for it. The shimmer is just that... a light but noticible glittery effect without the "LOOK AT ME" you'd get from a glitter spray. And the scent... I sprayed this on me at the store about 4 hours ago & I can still smell it & see the shimmer on my skin. It was on sale, buy 3 get one free, so I stocked up. The SA told me this line will only be available through January 2006, then it will be discontinued. I only saw this Shimmer Mist available in Cherry Blossom, Warm Vanilla Sugar & Sweet Pea. $14 for a 3.4oz bottle is VERY hard to beat!
Misc Beauty Tools -GoSmile - GoSMILE B1 Whitening Kit
ChevygaL4 10/27/2005 2:12:00 AM
I tried the original formula some time ago & it did nothing to whiten my teeth. I recently tried again with the B1 formula & I love the results! My only problem is that it does burn a little when I apply it. I haven't had any other problems, & I'm happy with the results thusfar, so I don't want to stop using it because of a little discomfort.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - Stash Box Teal - Holiday 2005
ChevygaL4 10/26/2005 5:52:00 PM
This was my first MAC brush purchase. I missed out on them last year, & I swore I wouldn't do that again. Out of all of the Holiday 2005 brush sets, this one is my fave. The case is cute, I love that it's a hard material. Not only does it hold my MAC brushes, but I can also fit my Smashbox Smokebox & my MAC Holiday palette in there as well! THAT is a definite plus!
SO disappointed! As in other reviews for MAC's Glitz Glosses, the top layer of this gloss is VERY glittery. As soon as I applied it, I noticed it is not so glittery underneath the top layer. The color in the pot is gorgeous, but it goes on very sheer. I wish it would remain as glittery as the top layer, but wouldn't feel like sand on my lips! My other disappointment is the packaging. I like the clear top so I can see which shade I'm grabbing for, but I just broke 2 nails trying to open the lid. I'm scared to close it at this point. Before resorting to using my nails, I tried a pen, scissors... even tweezers & couldn't get it open for the life of me. Unfortunately, I cannot deal with an item that is so difficult to open & would not repurchase again.
Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - SPA Pampering Foot Cream
ChevygaL4 10/15/2005 11:18:00 PM
This was an impulse buy at my local Victoria's Secret store. They were holding an in-store special where you would receive a 1.7oz duo of Warming Foot Scrub & Pampering Foot Cream if you purchased $35 worth of Victoria's Secret SPA products. I'm SO happy I went for it! I am a huge fan of Aveda's foot cream, but I dare say this is much better. It's not as greasy, & it is absorbed into the skin immediately. My feet feel silky, smooth, moisturized & the smell is GREAT! The scrub & cream will be given as gifts to almost every female on my Christmas list this year.
Scrubs -Victoria's Secret - SPA Warming Foot Scrub
ChevygaL4 10/15/2005 11:15:00 PM
This was an impulse buy at my local Victoria's Secret store. They were holding an in-store special where you would receive a 1.7oz duo of Warming Foot Scrub & Pampering Foot Cream if you purchased $35 worth of Victoria's Secret SPA products. I'm SO happy I found went for it! I just used the scrub for the first time a few minutes ago. It instantly warms on contact. The warm feeling doesn't last too long, but it's definitely there! This will be great in the winter. The scrub sloughed my feet completely & didn't overdo. Pair this with the Pampering Foot Cream & you'll be happy you did! I will be purchasing this duo for almost every female on my Christmas list this year.
