Powders -Laura Mercier - Mineral Finishing Powder
rated 5 of 5

This is my favourite loose powder I have tried so far... I paired this with the Armani matte silk foundation, which is the favourite of my foundations, they work together so well to give me the best finish I could ever ask for. If I moisturised well before I put on makeup, I can get away with not touching up until mid afternoon, sometimes I won't bother, it'll turn into a dewy finish which is not greasy. The only thing I have against it is the packaging. I took it on a trip one time and I must have not closed lid thing inside properly and I am not one for the powder puffs... so half the product ended up in the top half of the tub... so I have to be careful so I don't drop the tub or put on too much powder... but the finish is just so worth it...!

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 3 of 5
Cherrybello 3/17/2013 1:37:00 PM

So... this is one of the products I bought on a moment of mind blank... I didn't use to apply much lip balm but I bought it anyway... So, I bought it, so I thought might as well as try it. Well... I got the baby pink one, and it gives my lips a pretty natural pink colour, not that my lips are that pale to begin with, so it didn't make much difference. As for moisturising, it didn't do so well either, my lips began peeling before I reapplied. Since I started using Mentholatum deep moist, I have been using this on top to give my face a little more colour... which is pointless, as it's supposed to be a 2 in 1 item. After I wear it though, I felt like I had to use makeup remover, or else the colour wouldn't go away... Won't be repurchasing... obviously...

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Mentholatum - Deep Moist Medicated Lipbalm

My friend bought this for me when she went on a trip to Japan. Apparently it's one of the top selling lip balms in Japan at the moment... so I gave it a go. It has a rather unusual packaging, the tube is green (the menthol version), in a long oval shape (made easier to apply), and the round twist thingie at the bottom remains in a circular shape. When you apply at first it's a very cooling tingling sensation (feels like the original Mentholatum balm!), then it goes away, and gives the best conditioning to my lips I have ever experienced in my life. I have tried Nivea hydro care, Maybeline Baby Lips, Body Shop lip balm, even Vaseline did nothing to stop my lips from peeling when I put on lipstick... but now... I have tried it in combination with quite a few lipsticks I own that previously made my lips peel, but no more! I am stockpiling this when I go on a trip to Japan later this year! If you love a good lip balm, and is going to Japan for any reason, stop by a store and pick up one of these, I promise you'll be amazed.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Palty Hair Colour - Raspberry Macaron

My favourite hair colour of all time! It is a reddish brown colour, and like all DIY hair colours, the result depends on your original colour. I began with the resulting shade from Liese Milktea brown colour, with about 3cm (1 inch) black regrowth at the roots. After washing my hair with shampoo only, I blowdried my hair, emptied the tube into the bottle, you are meant to recap the bottle and just tip it up and down about 10 times to mix the cream properly (don't shake it!), and attach the nozzle provided in the box to the bottle, and comb it through your hair. Honestly, I absolutely detest the comb nozzle, it's the most atrocious thing that comes in the box! I would tip it out into an old/cracked/unused bowl, and brush the hair colour through with the hair colouring brush you can get at a beauty store, hair salon or supermarket. I used this for the first time in the middle of winter, so I sat next to the heater on high for 40 minutes, rinse until the water runs clear, and run through your normal hair washing routine, followed by the conditioning packet provided in the box, and I suggest you put it on wet hair, unless you got very long hair, only use half a packet. Blow dry, and then go about your business. I was stunned by the results, it was very even, covered the regrowth perfectly, the ammonia scent lingers until the second shampoo, but it is worth it. It doesn't dry out the end of my hair, and even when the colour fades after a while, it still looks very nice. This is the colour I will keep coming back to, until I found a better hair colour.

Treatments -Biore - Ultra Deep Cleansing pore strips
rated 5 of 5
Cherrybello 11/12/2012 9:50:00 AM

I have used so many of these for so long, I even have the 15 Year anniversary collection tin that makes stocking up the strips so easy. I have no complaints about the price, because I only buy them when they are on sale at the major stores, and that is often enough I have a good few months supply at a time, and never having to buy it full price. Moving on to the actual review. Unless you have very very clogged pores, I don't suggest using these more than once every week. Every 3~4 days at the most. I found the Ultra works so much better even with your white heads than the regular ones... What I do is warm my towel with warm (not hot) water, and apply the towel to my face a few times, then thoroughly cleanse my face, exfoliate however you like, but I prefer using the gel/creams. Massage in Sebum softener by St. Clare (that comes with the pore purifying mask set) for about 3 mins, wash it off. Wet my face, put one of these badboys on, and press down with my fingers, and pinch the side of my nose so it forces the glue into my pores, towel my face dry again, and sit around to wait until it feels like paper mache before I peel it off... sort of the same way you would wax... I actually gently pull the skin the opposite way I peel towards the nose, then from the tip of my nose towards my forehead. Tada, forest of white-heads (don't have blackheads...), follow up with lotion soaked cotton pads, leave it on for a while, peel, and use the rest all over my face, moisturise. Result - Heavenly clean pores, sometimes it doesn't get all of them, then I would wet the skin and run them through with the remover stick. Most of the time when I have epic fails is when 1. I did not wait around for long enough, and the glue was still somewhat tacky in places, or 2. when I didn't press for long enough. I will be forever grateful to Biore for coming up with this marvelous product.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Liese- Hair Cocktail Moisturizing Hair Serum

I own the peach version, which is the moisturising type. Have to say I love this product! It's fun to use, and smells wonderful. Bought this in Taiwan at the beginning of the year, and have been using it ever since, there is still a decent amount left. I would shake it up and pour out a small amount on my palm, spread it over both my hands and rub it through my towel dried hair, followed by CHI silk infusion and then blow dry. I wouldn't wake up to a tangled mess on my head to sort out with a flat iron in the morning. Love!

Lotions/ Creams -Garnier - Intensive 7 Days Conditioning Lotion
rated 4 of 5
Cherrybello 11/12/2012 8:40:00 AM

Bought this in Shea butter. I would use this after I exfoliated my body, or after I shave. No white dry patches on my elbows or knees for a few days after I apply this. So I am very happy with the product. Smells great, and doesn't linger. Except... I think the 7 day effect claim is on the border of false advertisement. If you say that the effect are felt after 7 days of continued use, then it is perfectly ok... but it isn't...

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Natures Organics Sorbolene
rated 2 of 5
Cherrybello 11/12/2012 8:34:00 AM

One time when I went home to help my parents with some house chores, and mum gave me some of this for my hands. I put it on and rubbed them together to spread... it spread alright, but it never absorbed even after 5 minutes, just sat there on my skin feeling slippery. So I washed it off and put on my normal Vaseline hand cream. This stuff does not work for me at all...

Deodorants -Dove - Go fresh - cucumber & green tea scent
rated 3 of 5
Cherrybello 11/12/2012 8:13:00 AM

I am a fan of the Dove cucumber and green tea line, I have all the products in this line except the roll on. I bought this when I was on a trip to Sydney, and my normal Dove Deodorant spray of the same line got confiscated at the home airport (should have known better to even try to sneak it on in the first place), so I bought this at the convenience store near my hotel on a whim, if it is ok then I can at least take it home after. It was a warm weekend in Feburary, and when I went for a walk to the bay and back to the hotel in the evening, I had quite large sweat marks under the arms of my grey T-shirt, and it was a cool night. It doesn't smell bad, but it smelled nothing like the scent from the spray (they are made in different countries, I later realised), I still like the spray version better...

Treatments -Pantene - Night Miracle Leave On Creme Serum
rated 4 of 5
Cherrybello 11/12/2012 7:55:00 AM

I have coloured, and chemically straightened hair... so you can imagine how damaged the ends could get. I have gone through a few bottles of this now... and I have to say, it works pretty well. I would put some on right after I washed and dried my hair, and one more time when I wake up in the morning. It keeps my hair smooth and tangle free all day even if I have to flat iron it in the morning. The formula is quite light, and it doesn't grease up my hair at all, even when I space out and put on 2 pumps for half head... The smell is pleasant, but a bit strong when you first put it on, it goes away after a while so it doesn't cover the smell of the conditioner.

BB Cream -Etude - Etude House Precious Mineral All Day Strong BB Cream
rated 3 of 5
Cherrybello 10/12/2012 1:37:00 PM

This BB cream has pretty good coverage as far as BB creams go. It applies pretty Smoothly with the nymph aura volumer mixed in it, then dusting my Laura Mercier mineral loose powder over the top. Having done that, it gives a pretty smooth and dewy finish, giving me a bright looking complexion. The reason why I took off a lippie is because wearing BB cream instead of a foundation is Russian Roulette for me in the lasting power department in all weathers. The finish I get from most BB creams usually are pretty good, but depending on the enviroment, it can go from 5/5 performance to disasters comparable to the Titanic. Generally this BB cream does pretty well in air con office conditions, but once I wore it to a dinner at an outdoor steak restaurant where we happened to sit right under the heater. Well, it melted off my face, turned into a cakey sweaty mess. Well... Maybe I just haven't found a good primer base to make it behave yet...

Polishes -OPI - And This Little Piggy
rated 4 of 5
Cherrybello 10/12/2012 1:17:00 PM

This is a glassy glittery sheer pink polish. It doesn't go bottle colour for around 4 layers and it is a bit hard to apply in even layers. But its pretty, i put it on over a sheer french pink polish and it looks great. Got it for $10 AUD rather than the normal retail price of $19.95, can't complain! Going to try layering it another time like other reviewers suggested, looking forwards to the result.

Polishes -OPI - Brisbane Bronze
rated 4 of 5
Cherrybello 5/21/2012 11:01:00 AM

I am kind of on the fence about this one... it looks like shimmery molten copper in the bottle. Because of my Asian yellow toned skin, I wasn't sure if it would look good, hence why I stay with pastel/pale pink colour, rarely ever got bronze coloured polishes. It takes about 2 coats to get bottle colour, and staying power is not bad. The effect on my fingers was interesting, it looks okay by itself, maybe a little warm for my skin, but I guess it would look good under the black shatter.

Polishes -OPI - Aphrodite's Pink Nightie
rated 5 of 5
Cherrybello 5/21/2012 10:43:00 AM

I love this colour! It's my favourite colour from OPI that I have tried so far. It's a shimmery sweet pink colour, looks good even when I am a bit tanned. Staying power is alright, put it on before a 6 day trip out of state, spent quite a bit of time in the water, and only come back with slight chipping around the edges. I'm in love~

Treatments -Clairol - Long Term Relationship Mask
rated 3 of 5
Cherrybello 8/7/2011 1:53:00 PM

Ok, so its supposed to help to fix split ends. Be clear that if you have long hair you are meant to trim them every 6~8 weeks anyway. I go through that process religiously, unless I plan to dye my hair, in that case I get the trim after the dye. Anyways, the first time I tried this mask, I was quite amazed because it did indeed do quite a good job (this is not long after a trim), but when you are getting closer to the time you are meant to get a trim it doesn't seem to work as well. Now I have about all the masks from the major hair care lines available from your major retailers ever since I dyed my hair, and this is the one I don't reach for until right after my haircut. But then again, its a cheap product, what do you expect?
