Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Glow Spray
rated 3 of 5

This is not my favorite spray on tan. I found it to be quite streaky and I am an expert self tanner. The smell is probably one of the best smells for a self tanner. I think the product would work best if applied under a "tan base"... instead of a self tanner, more of a in between tans product. I do love the color.. the streaks can be fixed with more applications, its just more work than I expected.

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
rated 4 of 5

I have been seriously looking for a good inexpensive primer. I found this and decided to give it a try since it was so cheap $5.99. When I realized it had a tint, I was worried about how it would look, since its a bit apricoty in color and I am not. The tint actually disapeared and I was left with flawless skin. I arrived home from work 8 hours later looking like I had just left my home that morning. I absolutely will continue to use this product. I love it!!!!

Powder -E.L.F. - Mineral Foundation
rated 3 of 5
CherryPieLove 11/24/2008 3:11:00 PM

My sister gave me this foundation because she know I have been looking for a replacement to BM. Well.. it was a gift, so I will not complain much, but I will tell you this. It is shimery. Its very light. I find myself using it as a top coat to my make up, like the mineral veil. I also use it on the days I want to look like I am not wearing any make up. The coverage is not right for me on a daily basis, I need something that covers up my roseacea. It is dirt cheap, so I would say give it a try and see if it works for you

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Organic Root Stimulator - Olive Oil Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion
rated 5 of 5
CherryPieLove 11/24/2008 3:00:00 PM

I LOVE this product. I do not have AA hair, but it is very damaged from styling so I use it as my finishing lotion and it makes it very lustrous and healthy looking. One word to the wise, apply in small quantities, if you use too much it weighs the hair down and makes it look dirty.

Hair Color -Clairol - Brass Free Brunettes
rated 4 of 5
CherryPieLove 11/24/2008 2:55:00 PM

I am so confused by the mixed reviews! I had a great experience with this product. I used it to tone down my orange roots ( at home coloring disaster) and it worked great. It took away the orange and made my hair a dark shade of brown. I did leave it on longer than the recommended 20 min, which is probably why it is so dark, but I am sure it will wash off. I think it probably works great if you are in orange root hell, but if you are looking for a beautiful shade of brown, you are better off getting a regular Natural Instincts shade. I do have one complain the product quantity is quite smaller than other hair coloring products. Overall great experience! and my hair looks very nice and shiny

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Salon Perfect Nail Polish - Pat On The Black
rated 1 of 5
CherryPieLove 9/26/2008 11:36:00 AM

I decided to treat myself to this polish and even though the price was high ($7 dollars), I thought it would be well worth it. I was wrong. The color is nice, but lets get real, this color is available in pretty much every fall nail collection. I thought it would be more purple, but it turned out to be just like OPI Wicked (that deep scarlett color everyone has). The texture is horrible, it bubbled, it was thick and a pain in the neck to appy. If I had the receipt, I would return it and I usually do not return ANYTHING... Sally Hansen needs to step it up and work on the quality of this product.

Self Tanners -Neutrogena - Build A Tan
rated 4 of 5
CherryPieLove 9/26/2008 11:29:00 AM

One of the better self tanners. REALLY HATE THE SMELL, but they all smell. I too found random orange spots, so you do have to be careful when applying. I think it works well, much better than other self tanners.

Self Tanners -Neutrogena - MicroMist Tanning (Medium 2 shades darker)
rated 3 of 5
CherryPieLove 9/26/2008 11:27:00 AM

I am not a fan of at home spray tans, but after a friend recommended this product I tried it. It made me really streaky and orange. Also I stained everything while using it. I still have it at home and only use it after I have sun-tanned to keep my tan longer. If I am pale, the color is too fake. Really not worth it, at least not for me. Now my friend has a fabulous color.. so either it works great for her or she is lying. :)

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze
rated 4 of 5
CherryPieLove 9/26/2008 11:21:00 AM

I bought this product based on the reviews here at MakeUp Alley. I have learned that sometimes what works for one does not for others, but the reviews are usually pretty on target. I found this product to be a fairly good self tanner. It has a tint so you instantly get a nice tan. I wanted to try the dark one, but only found medium shade. I agree that the sparkles are just a bit too much. I was told they were not too obvious, but again, the product could be so much more versatile without them.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
rated 5 of 5

I received a starter kit for the holidays and was pleasantly surprised. I have combination skin and it is hard to find a truly mattifying makeup. I think the combination of the foundation and the mineral veil is what helped me keep my make up on so flawless.. Having said that...... I do not think the price is fair. This product is quite popular and the fact is that I do resent paying the current price (especially since it was a gift). I think it is a valuable product, I just know that it could be better priced. I also did not love the fact that I felt I had a lot of makeup on.. even though it is lightweight, you really do have to apply a significant amount to make sure it stays on throughout the day. I agree with some of the reviewers that it can be a bit messy as far as the application process, but most loose powders can be. I have since found a cheaper alternative and although it doesn't cover as well as BE, it does a good enough job. I would buy this product IF they lowered their prices.

Powder -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Makeup
rated 1 of 5
CherryPieLove 9/3/2008 2:25:00 PM

I found this on sale and thought I could give it a try. The packaging is truly horrible, it is basically a sponge that you rub in your face. It would not dispense enough powder so I took it out of that packaging (basically had to break the container with a hammer) and tried applying the foundation powder to my face. I tried this product for one month. At the time I was using primer and even with the primer I found this product did not stay on, it basically disapeared from my face after a couple of hours. I would not recommend this product to anyone who wishes to have flawless coverage thorught the day.

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
CherryPieLove 9/3/2008 2:15:00 PM

I have been looking for a decent replacement to my Bare Mineral Powder. I have tried several mineral powders (pharmacy brands) and none has been as good as this one. I bought it on sale, thinking what the heck, but let me tell you is one of the best ones I have ever used. I did not love the packaging nor the brush, but I have learned to use it, and it works great. I have very oily skin with some redness and this covers really well. I truly recomend this to anyone who is looking for a cheaper alternative to Bare Minerals.

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Milk of Magnesia
rated 5 of 5
CherryPieLove 1/9/2008 11:57:00 AM

I discovered primer about a month ago. I used my mother's Models Prefer Facial Primer and it was fantastic. Not wanting to spend that kind of money, I read the reviews here and tried MOM. I have to say that it is absolutely fabulous. It works just as good, if not better than Models Prefer. I have seriously oily skin and never found a foundation or powder to keep me oil free for more than 1 hour. This product is really, really amazing. I use it after my moisturizer (an AHA product, which does not control my oil very well). I found that I needed more than just a dab, so I put it on as a lotion. Some users complain about pastyness, I have medium tan skin and don't really think it makes me look pasty (I have worn it without make up). Honestly, I can't believe I did not know about this product before.
