Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
Chena 11/22/2009 9:05:00 PM
After reading all these reviews I was really hoping that this would work for me, but it creases on me after 3 hours or so. I guess I'm too oily. This definitely has more silicone than UDPP and feels slippery. Back to UDPP for me.

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zings - Hip Bone
Chena 4/10/2008 4:29:00 PM
I don't get why this product has such good reviews. I got this as a browbone highlighter so I wasn't looking for something that was extremely pigmented-- not going for super mod eyes or anything, just a sheer, matte white. Even after piling a ton of this on over UDPP, I may as well have applied a translucent face powder. This is going straight into the trash.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Teal
Chena 3/10/2008 9:11:00 PM
Out of all the colors I have owned (black, eggplant, teal and navy, the teal was hands down the worst. It was completely dry and completely unusable, so dry that I could not get any of it onto a brush no matter how hard I tried. Too bad, because the color is gorgeous. The eggplant and navy also flake a bit on me after only a couple hours of wear. I don't know if the teal flakes because I couldn't even get it onto my eyes!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
Chena 3/10/2008 9:06:00 PM
Out of all the HIP cremes I have owned (black, eggplant, teal and navy), this is the only one I liked. It is creamy and dark, but it can flake if you put on a little too much (I knocked one lippie off for that). However, I like this, it is a very basic black eyeliner that is great for the waterline and I will repurchase if I ever run out!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Glycerin
Chena 2/4/2008 5:07:00 PM
I can't believe I have reviewed this yet! I've been using this for about 1.5 months. About 1.5 months ago I had been using retin-a for a little over a month and my skin looked DISGUSTING. Before the retin-a I had pervasive cystic acne for about 6 months that came out of nowhere, I think it may have been a hormonal thing. Anyway, my skin was awful. The retin-a reduced the number of pimples I had, but I still had a lot and I was peeling SO badly. Also, here I previously had pimples I had a nasty "circle" of peeling skin around the shrinking pimple. Think mountain in the middle of a crater. It was so bad-- I had strangers asking me what was wrong, SAs giving me really pitiful looks. However, with help from the skin board I used a glycerin and water mixture (1glycerin:4water) and seriously my peeling DISAPPEARED INSTANTLY! It honestly "masked" the peeling/flakes instantly, and is supposed to "heal" your skin to stop peeling after a while. After about a week I had very very little peeling, even when I forgot to use the glycerin water. Thank you so much glycerin water, for making me look more like a human and less like a monster.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Corner Office
Chena 2/3/2008 9:37:00 PM
I ordered this because the description on the website was just gorgeous: A medium iridescent pinky peach with apricot shimmer. I'm thinking orgasm, but warmer, which would be absolutely perfect on my very warm NC30 skin. I was so excited to get this! However, what I received was definitely a cool toned mauve with some peachy shimmer. It's not a bad color, but it looks awful on my warm complexion and is definitely not as described. However, I'm sure this will be gorgeous on someone who is paler and cooler-toned.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Wave™ (Power-Cleanser And Deep Clean Foaming Pads)
Chena 1/28/2008 10:33:00 PM
I have to say that I LOVE this! Pros: 1. It's cute AND pink. As an extremely effeminate person I absolutely am a sucker for all things cute and pink. 2. It feels very pleasant/relaxing to use 3. It's fairly cheap, $11 for the device and 14 or 28 pads, depending on if your pack had a bonus attached to it. I believe refill pads are $8 for 28, which is not bad for a month's supply, or two months if you use it every other night like I do. 4. Makes my skin super clean AND soft. The first time I tried it I had already washed my face with a cleansing oil, and neutrogena extra gentle wash, which I used twice. However, the wave STILL picked up foundation traces from my face! My skin afterwards felt so incredibly clean, but not squeaky and dry. It also exfoliated very well and left my skin smooth as marble. 5. Waterproof so you don't have to worry about dropping it into a sink full of water or electrocuting yourself in the shower. Cons: Just one! The pads come with their own cleanser. I try to rinse them out, but I'd prefer if they'd come "blank" for us to use our own products with. I run it under hot water and give it a couple squeezes, which I believe gets out approximately 70% of the cleanser. I then put my own cleanser on top. I also use retin-a, and I find that the salicylic acid in it and the exfoliating vibrations are too harsh to use in conjunction with retin-a, especially every night. For this reason I rinse them out and use them every other night, which also makes it more affordable. So win-win! Actually, I'd like to give this product a 4.5 because of the cleanser included int he pads, but I gave it 5 lippies because I felt that it definitely deserved more than 4.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner
Chena 1/28/2008 3:33:00 PM
This is hands down the WORST eyeliner I have EVER tried in my entire life. This NEVER dried! It felt sticky and tacky the entire day (I wasn't anywhere where I could take off my makeup-- trust me, if I could have I would've removed it right away!), so whenever I blinked my eyelid felt like they were being glued together! This was an extremely uncomfortable sensation, to say the least. This also made my eyes water (probably because my eyelids were being glued together) and smudged like crazy. However, the parts that did not smudge did not go anywhere when my eyes watered, so I guess it's somewhat waterproof. I threw this out right away.

Lip Gloss -MAC - c-thru lipglass
Chena 1/6/2008 3:16:00 PM
This made me look DEAD. But I'm NC30 so I can see how it'd look much better on someone who is paler, up to NC20- or mayybe NC25. However, this was VERY thick... thicker than other lipglases I've tried. I could NOT for the life of me apply it evenly. I don't know if the tube I tried was bad or if the texture was normally like this.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
Chena 12/27/2007 2:22:00 AM
I picked this up on a whim, I had forgotten my powder and remembered all the raves for this. I bought the lmedium-warm one (Beige- medium 2.2-2.5 I think is what it said), was SO hopeful and applied it in the car-- one large swipe on my cheek-- ORANGE. What to do what to do. Walk around all day with a big matte orange streak and grease pit for rest of the face or an entirely matte and even but orange face? Sigh, I went for the latter, and a couple hours later noticed that I had an ORANGE and SHINY face. Couldn't wait to get home and wash it off. I tried it again the next day (hoping it'll look better in diff lighting) but same deal. I guess this just isn't for me, so sad cuz I love the packaging!

Masks -DDF - Sulfur Therapeutic Mask [DISCONTINUED]
Chena 11/24/2007 9:03:00 PM
This is expensive, but worth it. I have to say, I'm not a fan of masks. They take time and look awful while they're on, and having roommates who don't understand my beauty routines... or that it is uncomfortable to talk while having a mask dry... I don't really want to be sitting around the house with this on. However, this is a great mask. I've never really seen any results with any other mask (except the indian healing one, which is a lot cheaper if you want a basic mask/ have few breakouts), and I think it's because my skin loves sulfur. Even the proactive mask didn't do much, but that only has 6% sulfur instead of 10%. This isn't a miracle, but used 3-4x a week it definitely helps my cystic acne!

Styling Products -Garnier - Surf Hair Texture Paste
Chena 11/2/2007 2:20:00 PM
This is my HG.... I'm on my third tub! This stuff lasts forever, I think it took me a good 6 months to use up the first tub! it's like $3 at walmart so it's dirt cheap. It's a creamy thick lotion-like product and it's seriously perfect for tousled messy sexy bed head hair. It says it has a strong hold, but I think it's more soft/flexible.. maybe it'll have a strong hold if you goop it on. It doesn't build up that much and if you're prone to doing the messy look daily you can def get away with washing your hair only 1x a week. This can be revived with some water too, sometimes i just foll out of my bed and go to school, and I revive it with a little water and no one can ever tell that my hair is only bed head! Perfect for people who want low maintenance hair. OOh my hair is a little above shoulder length, it's prob best for this length or shorter, but I've never tried it on longer hair so maybe it's good for longer hair too.
