If you are a hardcore black eyeliner type of girl, you will see this more as a dark brown eyeliner. Good pigmentation though but it has a that shiny liner look afterwards but it is a minimal shine. Overall! It has its hits and misses but for the most part it is an great and perfect gift to give or receive. I am not a hello kitty fan and I enjoy this palettes eyeshadow. They are workable and have a good range of colors. The eyeshadow pots are huge! so you get a lot of product for a good price. I have already depotted these eyeshadows so depotting is definitely possible. Just some advice, I also like to use these with not only an eyeshadow primer but with a base like NYX eyeshadow base or Maybelline Color Tattoos

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Lady Gaga - Fame
ChemicalMonster 1/13/2013 9:33:00 PM
Fame has a powdery, settled sweet scent. I personally don't smell apricot although it is listed in there. It's a safe scent, nothing pushing it to the extra mile. I got it mostly because I love Lady Gaga and considered it a Collecters Item that I occasionally use. The liquid indeed looks opaque and black, however, when held up to the sun, it looks like a dark, murky purple that can (with difficulty) be seen through. The bottle on a matter of opinion is classy and art inspired. Only the 100 ml bottle comes with a metal gold claw that is removed from the top of the bottle. The 50ml and 30ml have plastic gold claws. All bottle sizes are glass. Definitely smell it yourselves before purchasing. Suitable for all ages. The sweet scent may be too strong for some. I personally prefer muskier scents

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Barely Branded Color Tattoo
ChemicalMonster 1/13/2013 9:18:00 PM
This is not only an cream eyeshadow and eyeshadow base in my opinion, but a cream highlight that can be used on the face (cheekbones, down nose). Barely Branded is a light beige (no pink undertone) shimmer finish. Its opacity is medium. Its very creamy and lightweight. I personally do not use this on my eyelid since I find it too light and shimmery. I like to use it on my browbone, and cheekbones (blended well to give a sheen finish). I think Barely Branded will work with many skin tones because of its many different uses other than just an eyeshadow. Like all other maybelline color tattoos, makeup remover is recommended because they do stick so well (even in swatches) as well a eyeshadow primer, because they do not have primer in them and can possibly crease without one( it just depends on your skin type). So if you think you cannot use this as an eyeshadow, give it a second thought as a drugstore cream highlight:)

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - inked in Pink Color Tattoo
ChemicalMonster 1/13/2013 9:05:00 PM
Inked in Pink is a frosty pale to mid-tone pink with a metallic finish. It feels very light when swatched and applied. It has a medium opacity but can be built up to full opacity on eyelids. This is an excellent eyeshadow for both undertones, however, if you do not like shimmer then stay away from this because it is a very frosty look. You can use this eyeshadow by itself (preferably for fair skinned girls), or as a pink base. It is very creamy and lightweight. A favorite eyeshadow I look to put over Inked in Pink is a gold color, creating a perfect rose-gold sheen on the lid ( I use ELF's Golden Goddess studio pigment)

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible Eye Shadow - Golden Emerald
ChemicalMonster 8/29/2012 9:36:00 PM
Emerald city, here I come! This is a vibrant forest green with strong gold shimmer. It's just a perfect grass green. I've been looking everywhere for a green like this but they usually have gray or blue undertones which this doesn't have. It's easy to store. Fallout is moderate. Blending ability is not the best. It can look a bit dirty when you blend it too much and you will lose its color and vibrancy. You might want to try to pack some more color on carefully after you blend. I personally like to use this as a crease color with elfs studio pigment eyeshadow in golden goddess and wet nwilds comfort zone (light green eyeshadow) on the lid. And to darken it up a bit for a night out, wet nwilds comfort zone dark green eyeshadow ( labeled as crease) as an outer corner.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
ChemicalMonster 8/29/2012 9:16:00 PM
This HD powder is really nothing more than a white translucent powder. The powder itself is a very, very fine matte white powder. There is no shimmer at all. However the texture is different of that of a translucent powder. It's much thinner but it also feels soft and somewhat slippery sensation when rubbed between your fingers. There's no coverage but the point of this product is not to cover anyways. I notice that it makes my face a bit more oily than usual. But it gives me sort of a subtle iridescent glow to my skin. It's not noticible so do not expect it to transform your face. Being so white however, I cannot say for sure that any skin tone can pull this off. As for me, I very lightly dust it on because when I have packed it on I noticed it settles into my lines (for example around my nose). I have light to medium skin so keep that in mine. As for the packaging, I absolutely adore it. It's so classy and simple ( matte plastic) However, it must always Be standing upright or else the powder will spill and get everywhere. Therefore, it has made it impossible for me to get the product out without spilling. Its like working with baby powder. If you flip it upside down, it will spill so be careful about that. I like the look of the packaging but it just doesn't work. I'd rather get a translucent powder that is more flesh toned. I still love elf though

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Color Infallible #889 Midnight Blue
ChemicalMonster 8/18/2012 9:22:00 PM
(U.S.A. version called) Midnight Blue is a deep, dark, royal sapphire blue with blue shimmer. Think of a peacock and the blue on its body. Thats the color and how reflective and smooth looking it is. It is an absolutely stunning color. The texture is smooth and velvety. Not chunky or dry. Color payoff is rich and vibrant, a 10 out of 10. Just unbelievable pigmentation. ( I couldnt help myself and just stare at it). Blending ability is okay. I noticed with the infallible eyeshadows in general that they if you blend them too much, that not only will the intensity of the pigment will go away but the color itself will disappear. They become muddy and dirty looking quickly and there is more fallout. That is my only disappointment in these. But what I do is blend it out, clean up the surronding eye area and carefully and lightly pack on some more color wherever the eyeshadow became "dirty" looking. The packaging is nice, looks like it could be higher end (plastic square container with plastic round top. This color is perfect for your outer corner. For girls that think they cant pull off blue eyeshadow especially like this, line your lower, outer lashline with this color and transition at mideye to a light blue or aqua ( still lashline) and use a nice highlight ( of your preference) for your inner tearduct. It will look beautiful against any skintone, haircolor, eyecolor, and undertone :) You can also use this eyeshadow as an eyeliner, it creates the perfect dark blue cat-eyes eyeliner.

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Mellow Mauve
ChemicalMonster 8/18/2012 8:33:00 PM
Ladies! If you are looking for a natural pink flush to the cheeks then check this out. "mellow mauve" is a "safe" color, a midtone pink with a hint of mauve and micro shimmer that is not noticeable when applied. In terms of opaquicty, it is medium and is easily buildable. On a finger swatch I would give it a 4 out of 5. While on the cheeks I give it a 3 out of 5. There is no chalkiness, staining and is very smooth. If you are looking for a highly pigmented blush that you could "tone DOWN, this is not it. This is a blush that you can easily tone (or build ) UP without making it look heavy or powdery. The packaging is very sleek and travel/storing friendly. And there is a little mirror inside. I say if you are new to blushes and aren't sure which to get I recommend this particular color. It gives a natural flush and easy to work with and is only three dollars. If are a blush junkie and want something natural but noticeable, try this one out. Safe, beautiful color and good quality.

Polishes -New York Color - In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish - Park Ave 246
ChemicalMonster 8/16/2012 9:53:00 PM
In the bottle this a dark, cool tone, mauve gray with no shimmer. Beautiful color. When applied with one coat, it is semi opaque, and with two coats you will get an even, opaque color. However, it is also darker on the nails, with two coats, than in the bottle ( a shade or two darker) making the gray less noticeable and the mauve more pronounced. I wouldn't necessarily say it dries in a minute or less but I would say in less than two which is awesome if you're someone like me that is impatient. I always end up with bubbles in my nails because I never really know (and want to wait) for the first layer to dry. The consistency is thin to medium, really smooth and creamy as well as the finish. The bottle is nice, nothing fancy with .33 fl oz. I personally really like this one in particular because of the non-shimmer or metallic finish. With two coats and no topcoat, it will usually last about 3 days ( keep in mind I'm always washing dishes. When I do have a topcoat, it lasts about 6 days for me. As a suggestion ,Since it is a very plain finish, I always like to add the big chunky hexagonal/star glitter or the Essie luxeffect nail polish on top and really making a statement with my nails! I am currently wearing 2 coats of n.y.c #246 "park ave" with a top coat of kleancolors in #28 "chunky silver".

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Colorburst - Sunbaked
ChemicalMonster 8/16/2012 2:23:00 AM
#044 Sunbaked is a beautiful midtone mauve/brown with a hint of red with no shimmer/glitter. The formula is a dream. Very creamy and application is smooth with no streaking. 0% stickiness. It has excellent color pay-off in my opinion a 8 out of 10. Girls with pigmented lips this is a "my color but better". It also adds a "luscious" look :) I have never seen an applicator like the one on these though. It looks like someone squished and flatten it yet it is also rather springy and flexible. Its different but it works and I noticed that the applicator contours and shapes nicely against my lips when applying the lipgloss. I noticed mine has an odd, faint smell to it though. Its not pleasant but its not strong it goes away soon after application. I really like the packaging though. Quilted design matte, plastic top cap and plastic square tube. Simple yet sophisticated :) A must try for everyone.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Nude Attitude
ChemicalMonster 8/16/2012 1:46:00 AM
Buying this I knew that it would be drying from the many reviews and swatches Ive seen and by the finish: matte. But I bought it determined to make it work. First off, the packaging is matte plastic circular tube with a clear plastic on top showing the actual product itself. It looks classy and simple. Right off the bat, just looking at the lipstick itself I can see no shine to it. The color is a nude with a good hint of peach borderline orange. It actually is a beautiful nude ( I admit on some skin tones it just wont work) because on my pigmented lips the orange/peach tone to it cancels out and looks more like a nude with a pink tint to it. However, the dryingness to it is horrible. I tried everything in so many combinations: lipbalms, lipliners, lipgloss, technique in applying, amount that I apply, pairing with other lipsticks. Nothing works. It makes my lips look cracked, chapped and very dry. All the lipstick gathers in one area on my lips. I have never had a problem like this with any lipstick ever. Unless you do not have any problems whatsoever with dry lips, do not get this. There are plenty of other nude lipsticks out there to try. Pass on this.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Eyestudio Quad-Sapphire Siren
ChemicalMonster 8/15/2012 6:33:00 PM
The colors in this palette are beautiful and stunning. First we have a white shimmer with a frosty pearl finish. Second is an aqua blue with some faint tints of green ( looks kind of duo chrome but it's not). Third is a deep royal blue with black Undertones. And last is a black with glitter which is probably the most disappointing because it shows up more gray with glitter, not the best pigmentation. The Palette is all shimmer. A beautiful quad with disappointing results. I absolutely agree with other reviews stating the creasing and fading. I also have tried different bases, color bases, primers and using with other eyeshadows not in this palette. The max theses eyeshadows last on me without fading and or creasing is an hour. The fallout is kinda bad I would say moderate. If you really wanted a blue eyeshadow palette similar to this one but better quality I suggest the Wet N Wild in "Blue had me at hello". You get double the eyeshadows for half the price and much better quality.

Lips -NYX - Soft matte lip cream- San paulo
ChemicalMonster 8/15/2012 5:15:00 PM
This is a wearable dark rosy pink leaning to red. Not dark but not light either. For girls with pigmented lips this is a "my lips but better" color. Think of the color of chapped lips and how they are pink red. San paulo has good pigmentation. In terms of it being opaque, I give it a 4 out of 5. Texture is quite interesting. The best way I can describe it is a lightweight soft mousse-y texture that applies thinly on lips. It feels really soft. I do not know if it is the texture or the finish (matte) but after a while (30 minutes or so) your lips start to feel a bit dry and dehydrated even though they still feel really soft. I kind of felt like it has a powdery finish to it. Packaging is really cute, reminds me of philosphy packaging in terms of the lettering in front while the tube itself is the same size of that of a Mac lipglass. The cap is a matte and plastic. And I agree, it smells like cake batter :) Overall a good product. I think everyone should give it a shot, doesnt necessarily have to be this color although San Paulo is a color every skintone can pull off. I personally will be purchasing more :) Depending one where you go, price range will be from $2-$8.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty rush- Candy baby
ChemicalMonster 8/14/2012 6:23:00 PM
In the tube this is a pale midtone pink. But since it is so sheer it comes up only as a tinted lipgloss. Also depending on the pigmentation on your lips, this will appear more of a soft/pale pink tint (on unpigmented lips) while pigmented lips will appear more as just a gloss since the gloss is so sheer and your lips natural color will just overpower the tint of the gloss. I have pigmented lips and it just works on me like as if it were a clear gloss. Either way do not expect much if any at all color. It has no shimmer which is nice because I find that most lipglosses have some sort of shimmer and it can be a bit harder to find a drugstore (or cheaper lipglosses) without shimmer. It is very glossy and shiny. The tube is very plain and simple and is the same packaging as the bath and body works. The consistancy is thick and sticky but heres the thing, it will last longer (up to 5 hrs I would estimate). Always remember the thicker and stickier lipglosses last longer while the creamier and thinner last for a shorter period of time. My favorite thing about this lipgloss is the scent! It smells EXACTLY like the Nesquik in strawberry (that pink powder with the rabbit that adds flavor to your milk lol) but stronger. It literally makes my mouth water. There is a good amount of product (.46 oz). I personally like to use this lipgloss with natural makeup. I think its a good lipgloss to always have in your purse or bag because its very conveniant for when you dont have a mirror and you want to moisturize your lips but want a more gloss than your basic lipbalm.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Round Lipgloss Real Nude
ChemicalMonster 8/13/2012 10:28:00 PM
These are the creamiest, smoothest lipglosses ever!! Ive always loved Nyx for their lip products and I think the round lipglosses are one of their best product. Real Nude is my second favorite color (whipped being my first). I think the name is a bit misleading since it is more of a mauve. There is no shimmer which I love! It smells delicious think of a citrus scent. I like to pair it over E.l.f.s studio matte lipcolor in tea rose ( they match up perfectly) if I want a glossy look to it. They are not sticky at all so they feel wonderful on the lips, however they obviously do not last as long. Max for me would be 3 hrs. Also the doefoot applicator is a bit different, its just a bit slanted which I like because I can get a lot more of the product from the tube:). Beautiful colors and highend quality.
