Conditioner -TRESemme - Split Remedy Conditioner
Chelles93 5/23/2013 12:44:00 PM
Mixed feelings about this conditioner. It did what it was supposed to do with my split ends. It made my split ends look way, way better - I could skip the flat iron when I used it. (I have 95% straight hair, with just a bit of wave to iron out.) But after about 6 days of use it started looking really lank and felt dirty - not soft, not swingy. If I could get the results in one use, I'd use it occasionally but it takes me 4+ uses to really look good.

BB Cream -Physicians Formula - Super BB Cream
Chelles93 5/23/2013 12:32:00 PM
I was really hoping that this would be a dupe for the Healthy Wear tinted moisturizer (HG for me) - which seems to be in the process of being discontinued where I live - but it's not. Color match is pretty good - PF is notorious for not having light/fair colors available and it's sheer enough to blend out into my jawline and not be a noticeable color mismatch. It's nice and thick, which I like. I'd say it moisturizes medium-well, as my face doesn't get oily but doesn't look dewy either. Sheer coverage, and I wear it as an additional layer under foundation for some added sunscreen (I use regular sunscreen, too) in the morning and reapply after work for my commute home. It's not clogged me or broken me out, and I have very, very sensitive skin and was acne-prone until I started using coconut oil as a cleanser.

Liquid -Kat Von D - Lock-It
Chelles93 12/27/2012 1:52:00 AM
I got a generous sample from Sephora after reading all the rave reviews. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work for me. My skin is normal and very sensitive. No trouble with the sensitivity, but even with a decent moisturizer underneath it made my skin look terribly dry. And it made the fine lines under my eyes look very, very bad. I had to remove it with a moisturized qtip and add some plain old concealer. I didn't get the same level of coverage as everyone else, even with two layers. I tried a sponge, my fingers, and a stipple brush. It did have the most coverage of anything I've tried, but still not enough to please me. I had to put concealer on afterward and I'm looking for something that will let me skip it. This would be great for someone with oilier skin who wanted more coverage than the average foundation.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
Chelles93 9/30/2012 3:56:00 PM
I like the way this mascara looks after two coats - slightly better than the average mascara I've tried, but not as good as my HG, Voluminous. Didn't mind the flexible brush, though it didn't help with application. I will not repurchase because it's so difficult to take off. I use cold cream to remove my makeup and all other mascaras come off easily. Even when I gently rubbed the cold cream on my lashes and left it there for a minute or so to work, the mascara was still there and came off in huge clumps. Any remaining mascara comes off in the morning when I use a gentle face wash but I don't want to use it at night and definitely don't want my mascara on overnight.

Fragrances -Chopard - Casmir by Chopard

Love this. Very hard to find, but worth it. Everyone else has described the scent - it's hard to review scents because it's so objective. Definitely a staple and a repurchase.

Skincare - Face -St. Ives - Scrub Free Exfoliating Pads
Chelles93 9/23/2012 12:44:00 PM
Update: Mine MOLDED. Like, actual nasty mold. I wanted to use them for my body/feet but I won't repurchase. Original review: I paid $5 for these at Family Dollar. I wish I knew the strength of the acid and the pH for sure, but I think they might actually be effective, as they proved to be way too harsh for my sensitive skin. For some reason glycolic and lactic acids have wrecked my skin lately and these did too. I have huge dry, red patches I had to treat and it's been 10 days and they're still not healed up. I'm using them for my elbows (worked great) and chest and feet now. Will repurchase.

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
Chelles93 9/16/2012 4:44:00 PM
The wax side is perfect on my dark-brown brows, and the brush is tiny and I can make my brows look great - full and natural. The powder is a little too light and I generally don't use it. I've had mine for a year, use it daily, and have barely put a dent in it. Worth every cent.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
Chelles93 6/15/2012 11:50:00 PM
I got this, along with a bronzer, in a small size for $15 at my mall's new Sephora. (Finally!) It's a beautiful color on me - I'm pretty fair - but as another reviewer states, the color payoff isn't that great. It doesn't last anywhere near 12 hours for me. Not even six hours, and my skin isn't oily. If I can find a dupe I'll buy that. I'll repurchase the small size tarte if I can't locate one.

Makeup Brushes -Maybelline - Face Brush

I guess I'm not with the crowd on this one. I've had this brush since 2003. No shedding, period. It is HUGE so I use it only to dust powder. My bristles are soft (but not too flexible/soft) and when I wash it I generally throw a deep conditioner into the soap mix. Would repurchase if I lost this one.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Matte Lipstick in 901B Think Pink
Chelles93 5/13/2012 8:16:00 PM
Very pale pink on me. Accentuates how dry my lips are, so I have to put a balm under it, which of course makes it not long lasting. I paid .99 for mine - I should have bought 5 or 6 colors. I never pay full price for W&W - there's a sale at least twice a month somewhere. Go Wet 'n' Wild! I remember how awful these cheap brands were until recently. I unfortunately still can't talk other women into trying the revamped brand, though.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 100+ with Helioplex
Chelles93 5/13/2012 8:02:00 PM
I have a few spots that aren't fading at all, even though I always use 30 - 45 spf daily, even in the winter. Moved up to this, and use as close to 1/4 teaspoon as I can. Have been using it for about three weeks - I'm hoping for some fading of acne spots and dark sun spots. (I use retin A and AHAs, too.) No breakouts, even around my period. HUGE plus. No burning, it doesn't run into my eyes, and finishes not quite matte, but not shiny. Dewy, maybe. Doesn't turn greasy/oily toward the end of the day. I sometimes use a HD powder to set my makeup and it may help. It's thick, so I put it on after my shower and then go get coffee and try to give it maybe 5 minutes before I put on foundation.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
Chelles93 5/13/2012 7:56:00 PM
Sets my makeup. Looks great - not like regular powders that can cake. I use a big, puffy brush to put it on. I use a light hand when I apply - if I don't it looks odd. I have dry patches sometimes (if I use acne meds) and I can't wear it on the days after I use BPxide or the day after a drying mask. If I am using a foundation or sunscreen that is slightly oily, I put it on under my foundation, over the sunscreen. Like a primer, as another reviewer suggested. Works GREAT that way. $6 at Target. Can't beat the price. Will repurchase.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Blue Me Away
Chelles93 5/13/2012 7:50:00 PM
I LOVE this color. Perfect blue. Great for summer. Two coats are more than enough. Chipped a bit on the tips after a few days - I didn't have a good topcoat over it so I'm not sure if it would last longer with one. One thing I didn't like - it really stained my fingers. I've never had even a black polish stain this much. I don't use a base coat, though. Worth it, in my opinion. Really love it, would repurchase.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Gem Crush 01 Showgirl Chic
Chelles93 4/21/2012 12:10:00 PM
I LOVE the way this looks. Two light coats and it's done - looks so cool, especially in sunlight. Looks much better on than in the bottle. Not shiny and quick to dry. I've used it twice in the last week. The first time was over another polish and topped with Revlon's quick dry top coat. It lasted six days. The second time I used it alone, on a bare nail, and it started peeling off the next day. In the future I'll use a base coat and the top coat.

Top/Base Coats -Revlon - Quick Dry Top Coat
Chelles93 4/21/2012 12:06:00 PM
Love this. I'm not committed enough to put in the extra work required with the Seche Vite and this stuff works just fine. Best top coat I've used - it does dry quickly for me and helps even crappy polish stay longer. If I dab a bit on my ends every day I can extend a manicure to maybe 5 days, when without it I might get two. I skipped this the last time I polished my nails and they lasted one day. I'd used it the week before with the same exact polish and that lasted six days, until I went swimming. Huge difference. Will repurchase.
