Moisturizers -Earth Science - Apricot Intensive Night Creme
CharlotteAmalie 6/15/2011 12:13:00 AM
I'm almost finished with my first jar of this & will repurchase. It's a very hydrating cream, yet doesn't feel greasy, doesn't clog pores, doesn't create an oil slick to wake up to in the morning. It smells good--a very light fragrance, but pleasant & it dissipates quickly.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen with Helioplex SPF 45
CharlotteAmalie 6/15/2011 12:07:00 AM
I bought this as a facial sunscreen, but it clogs my pores. It's great to use on my arms, though it smells like sunscreen, which is not a pleasant smell to me. Still, it does the job--it's just not something I can use on my face without creating cystic acne.

Treatments -Reviva - Brown Spot Skin Lightening Night Cream
CharlotteAmalie 6/14/2011 11:58:00 PM
I have two brown spots from sun exposure on the right side of my face. After using this for months, I see no difference in the brown spots. The cream feels and smells nice, and doesn't break me out. It just doesn't seem to work on these particular spots. I have some brown spots on the back of my hands, though, and the cream seems to work pretty well on those. They haven't disappeared, but they are less visible.

Treatments (Eye) -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Ultra-C Eye Lift
CharlotteAmalie 6/14/2011 11:47:00 PM
I'm on my second bottle of this. I've had no trouble at all with burning or sensitivity. The serum has a bit of viscosity that may not appeal to everyone--it's a bit syrupy--but it absorbs fairly quickly & leaves the eye area taut. The scent is nearly imperceptible. I apply a heavier moisturizer over it at night, and a day moisturizer over it at other times, and have had no breakouts or bumps. My only complaint is that it's nearly impossible to pump out just enough for two eyes, so I end up using the extra bit on my neck, which is none the worse for the application. I liked it well enough to buy it again. It's doing what it claims to do, so far as I can see.

Treatments (Eye) -Reviva - Eye Complex Firming Cream
CharlotteAmalie 6/14/2011 11:39:00 PM
I'm on my second jar of this. It's great--especially for day wear, as it absorbs quickly enough to apply make-up over. It firms well, giving the whole under-eye area a nice taut feeling. I think it does a good job with dark circles as well--my raccoon eyes seem less raccoony now that I'm using this, at least, and I have no new wrinkles, and time certainly hasn't stood still. And it's affordable, and all natural...in my book, great.

Moisturizers -Earth Science - Almond-Aloe Moisturizer
CharlotteAmalie 6/14/2011 11:31:00 PM
I've used a bottle of this & like it a lot. It absorbs quickly, has a nice unobtrusive fragrance, doesn't break out my skin, & zaps those tanning rays. It's more of a cream in a bottle than a lotion, so at a certain point you just have to take off the cap & tease it out. Manufacturers might have done better to put this in a jar or a pump. All in all, excellent.

Eyeliner -Everyday Minerals - Smokey Eyeliner
CharlotteAmalie 5/28/2010 6:04:00 PM
This is superb stuff. I use it wet. It goes on smoothly, stays on, doesn't chip or flake. At first I had trouble with little bits of it falling down onto my cheeks, ruining my foundation. And the eyeliner powder doesn't wipe off easily. Then I discovered that my brush was at fault. Now I use a used-up Cover Girl Line Exact applicator (a bit like a felt tip pen). Moistened with a tiny bit of water, it absorbs just enough pigment, and makes an incredibly smooth line going on. I like the Line Exact, too, but this is w-a-a-y cheaper, and looks like it's going to last forever. It's a nice smokey charcoal color, soft and pretty--much less harsh than either black or brown.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
CharlotteAmalie 5/28/2010 5:54:00 PM
One thing I adore about the E.M. line is that you can buy sample sizes to get the right shade, not just a near match. I began by buying a whole range of samples, finally zeroing in on "Golden Fair" as the precise match, adding a little bit of "Linen" by winter's end, when I've really gotten pale. This is just great stuff. It covers well--if you need light cover, just a dusting does it, while a couple of light dustings produces a heavier coverage that still is not cakey. I put it on with a kabuki brush, and it goes on like a whisper. I've had foundation problems my entire life, until this--my foundations either turned orange, looked fake and caked, made me look ghostly, felt gross, or came off on everything I wore. The E.M. foundation does none of this. If you're worried that "semi-matte" might be too shiny, it's not at all. It's the only variety I've used, and it doesn't gleam. It just looks natural and smooth. Great product!

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Intensive Fair concealer [DISCONTINUED]
CharlotteAmalie 5/28/2010 5:45:00 PM
So I was born with dark circles, and they are incredibly cover-resistant. I started using Everyday Minerals a couple of years ago, after reading about the concealer on this site, and I'm completely enchanted by the entire face line. I was a little afraid to use a powder concealer, fearing that it would settle into my lines. That doesn't happen. This concealer covers my under-eye circles very well, yet still looks natural--not at all cakey or dry. This is also great to use over sun splotches (otherwise known as age spots) and small scars. I'm on my third or fourth container of this, and I love it.

Shampoo -Pantene - Silver Expressions Shampoo
CharlotteAmalie 1/29/2009 1:07:00 AM
I started using this when I decided to let my hair go natural. It greatly reduced the reddish highlights left over from my coloring, and brought out the silver streaks nicely. I've switched to the volumizing Pantene products, but only because my hair seems to be silver enough on its own now. This is a nice product.

Blush -Rimmel - 8 Hr Mousse Blush All Shades
CharlotteAmalie 1/29/2009 12:52:00 AM
A little goes a long way. I love the delicate touch of a cream blush, and this is light and pretty--no heavy make-up feel, no landing strip effect. I hate looking "made-up," and so I found this to be a perfect product as it's kind of anti-showgirl. I have very fair skin, green eyes, and light brown hair with a lot of gray--a "spring" in the seasonal category--and Peach Ice Tea is a great match for me, very natural-looking.

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Enriched w/ Minerals
CharlotteAmalie 1/29/2009 12:44:00 AM
I, too, purchased this after reading the reviews here. I was kind of knocked out by how good this is. At 53, my skin is a bit blotchy from the sun but otherwise in good shape. This does an AMAZING job of smoothing out the blotchiness without looking heavy or made-up. It covers my two "age spots" quite nicely, stays fresh-looking for hours, doesn't wipe off on clothes, and doesn't cake. I use #100 Ivory (I have very fair skin, green eyes) and it's a great match. I had been using CoverGirl "advanced radiance" creme foundation (#105), which has gotten great reviews everywhere, but found it way too heavy and make-uppy looking. In addition, it came off on my clothes and by the end of the day made me look kind of beleaguered. The Rimmel is a major improvement over it.

Moisturizers -Derma E - Hydrating Night Creme (formerly named Hyaluronic Acid Night Creme per C.S. at Derma E)
CharlotteAmalie 1/29/2009 12:34:00 AM
I've been using this for about 3 weeks now, and while I'm not knocked out by the effects (I did NOT, alas, wake up looking twenty...), it doesn't mess up my skin either. I'm looking clear and clean and not crepey or wrinkly (I'm 53, so that matters...) under its influence. Maybe the company changed the scent since these early reviews were written, because I find the scent light and pleasant. I like the idea of all-natural ingredients, which is why I switched to this line. It's quite possible that the all-natural ingredients work a little more slowly than synthetic chemicals, which is why I didn't wake up the first morning dazzled by my new self. :-)

Treatments (Eye) -RoC - Protient Lift
CharlotteAmalie 9/7/2006 11:44:00 AM
I'm using this in combination with the RoC Anti-Aging cleanser, nightime moisturizer, and daytime moisturizer. It's great stuff. In the two months I've been using it, my skin has noticeably improved. The whole eye area skin is much firmer, and the lines around my eyes have been softened considerably. The cream absorbs quickly, doesn't leave the undereye area greasy or slick, and is a fine base for make-up. Terrific, terrific!
