So many pro's about these brushes, difficult to fault! PROS: Gorgeous handles, colour ordered for purpose Extremely minimal to no fallout Super, super soft bristles Incredible range, multipurpose brushes Easy to clean and regain shape straight after drying Evenly distribute a wide range of products Sets come with travel case which doubles as a stand Brushes with flat bottoms stand on their own CONS: Some brushes only come in a set, which is a touch annoying Travel case is cheap and tacky Brushes are extremely overpriced in Australia (buy online people!!) When the time comes, I will always repurchase!
Eyeliner -Napoleon Perdis - Eye Pencil in Chocolate
Chantellouise93 1/29/2013 9:33:00 PM
I use this for my brows and have it in the retractable packaging. I have a bit of an up and down relationship with it. PROS: Formula is nice and waxy Easy to use Noticeably different pigment with lighter and heavier pressure Creates nice thin strokes for filling in brows It's very handy to not have to sharpen it Pretty packaging CONS: I find it doesn't last very long once applied (could try combining with brow gel however) It doesn't have much product at all and for the price it's worth switching over to a pencil Probably won't repurchase, I've already ordered Jordana brow powder for when this runs out!
Love love love! Have been repurchasing for years. PROS: Smells and tastes AMAZING! Packaging is super cute, I love the redesign as well Formula is exquisite, glides on and leaves your lips feeling silky smooth! Lasts for a while, can be used as a sheen over lipstick. Did I mention the smell!? Price is very reasonable for how long it lasts. CONS: If you wear fake nails, the pot can be hard to maneuver On a hot day, it really doesn't fair well Will always repurchase without a doubt!
Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
Chantellouise93 1/29/2013 9:01:00 PM
I really like this eyeliner, in saying that it is the first and only gel liner I have used/owned and I wish I had a few products to base the review on. PROS: Personally love the pigment (it does take a few go's to get it extremely black) Formula is so wonderfully creamy and glides on very nicely Packaging is awesome, cute little glass pot Worth the price for how long it will last Staying power is great, even after being in water (however, not without a little smudge) Lasts ages! I've had it for 3 months, using it almost every day and it's barely made a dint. CONS: When going over the liner with a second coat, the first coat sometimes comes off Does smudge a touch after a full days wear Pigment is not everybody's cup of tea All in all, good product, will repurchase!
This bronzer actually stumps me because I'm super torn about it. I know everybody rants and raves (and in all honesty it's probably the best I've tried) but I expected more? PROS: It blends so nicely and works well as a contour It has a light shimmer (love hate relationship with the shimmer) The packaging is awesome, love the feel however I'm a nut about keeping it clean! Has a generous sized mirror Looks good all round on most skin colours Photographs well CONS: It hasn't lasted well at all for me, I've hit pan within 1 1/2 months (suspect fowl play with sisters) The shimmer can be a real burden on a sunny day! The packaging does get dirty quickly Is difficult to afford if you have a lower end budget Broke me out along my cheek bones slightly Overall, great product, not overhyped just not as great as I expected!
This powder is honestly nothing special, I'm not exactly the biggest powder fan but after receiving Nude as a gift I thought I'd give it a go to find out why it's apparently 'Australia's most loved mineral foundation'. PROS: Has alright coverage for normal skin but doesn't cover problem areas when used alone From the outside, packaging is quite nice and simplistic Good for use to set foundation You do get a fair amount of product CONS: So much spillage that I cannot enjoy this product at all, powder stores up under the lid Coverage is not suited to anyone who likes medium to full coverage Doesn't last long at all even with primer underneath Is quite expensive for the quality of packaging and product Ads are bloody annoying Range is limited to three colours (light/medium/dark) Did I mention the spillage? Will never repurchase ever again.
This primer has some really strong downfalls which are hard to ignore! PROS: Packaging is lovely and has handy pump bottle Feels smooth once applied Helps to slightly illuminate skin (slight shimmer which can't be seen under makeup) Hydrates the skin just a touch, helping foundation to glide on slightly better upon application but here come the significant CONS: Is ridiculously expensive (especially in Australia) Does nothing for the staying power of my foundation!! (Laura Mercier Silk Creme) Doesn't last long as long as I'd hoped Wouldn't repurchase, it's worth searching around for other primers and giving this one a miss!
Absolutely adore this gloss, it certainly has some downfalls but easily overlooked as it's just amazing in most other areas! PROS: Formula is so pigmented that it looks like a gloss lipstick! Plumps lips (I assume from the tingly sensation) Doesn't bleed on my lips Has incredible shine power Packaging is pretty CONS: Doefoot applicator is huge, not well suited to small lips Product builds up around the top of the applicator Doesn't stay on for long but does help to stain lips Formula is a touch sticky, but not too bad Will repurchase again and again!
Love love love this powder! As soon as I'm done with my foundation and face powder, I very lightly pat this over the top of my t zone, and can immediately tell the difference, it mattifies any oil in those areas. PROS: Comes with a mirror and packaging is lovely (as all MAC products are) Pressed form is easy for travel Works wonders for oil control Has lasted in the pan for a while so far Although white in the pan, it is completely transparent CONS: You will need to reapply during the day as it doesn't having amazing staying power MAC products aren't exactly the cheapest (especially in Australia) Doesn't come with a powder puff Will repurchase, all in all a great product!
Primer/ Corrector -Skindinavia - Makeup Finishing Spray
Chantellouise93 1/29/2013 7:43:00 PM
I find the finishing spray to be great! To be honest though I haven't noticed my makeup sticking around for too much longer than it used to. In saying that, I've been using it over the summer in Australia and the heat takes a toll on how well it holds anyway. When I first started using, it did sting a tiny bit but I suppose my face has gotten used to that now. It does tend to make your makeup feel stiff if you spray too much but that quickly wears off. Overall I'm enjoying it and I will repurchase.
Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express The Falsies Flared
Chantellouise93 1/29/2013 7:34:00 PM
I bought this mascara on a whim when I'd run out of my usual. A friend swears by is as Tanya Burr is her walking talking makeup bible, and also loves this product.. But I hate it, and I'll tell you why. Yes, it was great for the first three weeks, the formula was nice and worked well. However, it by no means gives you a look remotely similar to false lashes. And after those few weeks the formula was quickly drying up, left flakes on my cheeks and became useless. I will not repurchase.
