Ok, I wanted to give this product a go as a facial cleanser due to the great reviews on here. I thought I'd do this review in 5 steps. I wanna write a first impression and then update every week. ... I'm gonna use it religiously and really see what it can do. Normally it's not something I'd buy being a faithful clinique 3 step user. My skin type is combination. Cheeks on the dry side. T zone can get oily. Extremely sensitive skin. Very very acne-prone when it comes to products. Right now I have a few minor breakouts due to stress and hormones, I think.I use the version without shea butter. Day 1: So, first impression: THE PACKAGING is not very practical. It's an 32 ounce bottle. . it looks weird and out of place in my bathroom. Don't know. Some fancy department store cleanser does look nicer on the shelf... and I'm afraid I am a little shallow like that. THE SMELL... is awful imo. Smells a bit like old men to me. Reminds me of my grandfather somehow which in a way is not bad since I loved my grandfather and he was really picky with products... but do I wanna smell like him?! Idk. Smell does linger like 2-3 hours I think. Also lingers in the bathroom. THE RESUNLT: Takes off makeup like nothing else!! Wow!!! Even mascara without leaving any residue! Skin is neather stripped not showing any redness. I feel like I could go without moisturizer but... I just cannot do that. Being a skin care junkie it just feels wrong. At least until now it does. I might think differently next week.

OK, it's expensive. It is. .... But that being said... I have to admit it's also the best foundation I have purchased so far. The way it blends into the skin is just amazing! It is like it BECOMES your skin! I look as if I'm not wearing anything at all. The way I apply it (my colour is B10 for NC15 skin btw) is using finger tipps .. and you only need the tiniest amount... and then I set with mac mineralize skinfinish natural (in whatever colour just suits my skin... light in winter/medium in summer) AND (most important for flawless look!)... spritz some clinique moisture surge spray or even just water on my face and voila!!!! Perfect skin... and no makeup detectable!!! I cannot tell you how pleased I am with this new foundation routine. I might even sell all my high coverage foundations. I find with this I do not need them. Surprisingly!!! But still, 45 euros is a lot for a foundation. ... But to me it's worth it. I doubt I'll ever find a cheaper product that will yield the same great results.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap

You know these moments when you buy a product because of the rave reviews and coz you get intrigued by some crazy all-in-one-concept and the moment you use it you wish you had listened to that ONE bad review and saved the pain and money? That's exactly the way I feel right now. I used the soap today to shower and while doing so used it on body, face and hair... and let me start off by saying on the body it seems ok. But not anything special really except for the tingling sensation... but on the face and hair... it was a disaster!!! Although I diluted the product my face still feels desert dry (although I used my clinique moisturizer afterwards which normally takes care of any horrible dryness like even chapped lips etc.) and the hair is a dry, tingly mess!!! Actually it is so frizzy I didn't even know possible. I look as if I came out of the jungle... and even if I did it'd still be an awfull case of jungle-frizziness! Not to mention that my bathroom smells as if some crazy witch had performed some kind of ritual around a crackling fire in there. And looking at my hair I even might be tempted to think that has exactly been the case. Right now I just wonder if my face and hair will ever get back to normal and when the moment will come I can ppl let enter my bathroom again... For the hair I might try my face moisturizer on it coz the hair moisturizers won't do the job to save it. So, summing up... an unnesseccary experience. A bar of soap would habe done the same for my body I guess. And looking back now I don't know what led me to think that a product which can be used to wash your car with would be great on face and hair. Actually I guess you could use carwash as well on face and body if you just dilute it well enough. Hm... let's save the planet some other way please!!! ... Otherwise it's end-of-world-looks anyway here!

Powder -Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15

Cellove15 1/12/2012 12:02:00 PM

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! I never expected to actually like this that much. Got it on ebay and was like "uhhh well, I can try it but it sure is like any other powder... it's just powder, you know"... But this stuff really surprised me!!!! It's lovely!!! Best mineral makeup I own. .... The color (fair) is nice for my nc15ish skin and this makeup is hardly visible at all... BUT does provide a surprisingly good coverage! Wow wow wow. Clinique really delivers with this one!!! Definitely gonna repurchse this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit: Love this so much I'm gonna buy some backups right away

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 4 of 5
Cellove15 12/28/2011 6:16:00 AM

Why oh why all the shimmers?!!! :( ... I do like this palette, but only as a shimmery palette. When I hear naked I want naked!! Naked is the sort of unvisible makeup you hardly notice and just enhances your features. So far only mac does that for me coz I can select a lot of matte shades... this one is an evening palette for me. Just too shimmery for every day use. A little sad. As I said, for shimmery looks this is great great quality but not so much for subtle neutral looks. ... Would have liked a matte highlight, by the way! Virgin is nice but shimmery. Hm. Could have just stayed with mac I guess. But wanted it because of the hype. Sometimes I wish those makeup people on youtube were more critical. I really miss that!! Sometimes it feels like a sale on QVS and nothing more. They hype way too much!

Lipstick -BeneFit Cosmetics - Silky-Finish in Good To Go

Nice lipstick, nice colour! Doesn't dry my lips out at all (which is a wonder actually coz I have really dry lips and was worried because of some reviews on here!)... The colour shows up a lot more red than I thought it would but this is nice. Don't know what else to say. Just like this one. (No funky smell, which is good). Little con: is used up pretty quickly coz it's so creamy... wonder how long it'll last me.

Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Cellove15 12/28/2011 5:43:00 AM

Funny as it is... I have a very, very hard time finding a colour match in this foundation. I liked the NC/NW system A LOT better coz NC just matches me... Here no color matched my skin when I tried it on at a mac counter and this is weird considering it's called matchmaster. So I'd have to mix. Also I was surprised by the fact that in the mac store it seemed to be of a very thin consistency but when I tried out a bottle at home it was sooo thick (thicker than studiofix fluid). Would have thought this was lighter and blended more easily and gave more of a glow. Hm. To me it was pretty similar to studiofix after all but the colormatch was worse (in my case). So I'm probably gonna stick with studiofix fluid. I might edit this review in the summer when I tan a little (maybe then it'll be different). Huge plus: Feels relatively light on the skin and did not at all seem to break me out!!! (Mac studio fix does during the first 5-7 days of wearing and then gets better). For reference: I am an NC15 in studiofix fluid and in the matchmaster 1.0 is way too light and 1.5 is way too dark.

Not "the perfect" foundation in my opinion but still the one I keep reaching for and now I even repurchased it (which never actually happens with any product coz I'm obsessd with trying out new things). It can be a little cakey on the skin.. it does smell like paint... it's not the easiest to blend but still... somehow this one wins over all the other ones I own! ... I'm an NC15.. and somehow I get the best results with it. Nice colour (not too yellow at all on me) ... oh and yes, it oxidizes but not to a terrible amount imo and the staying power is well enough (it gets me through a day at work which is important to me). I think I'm gonna settle for this one now (for some time at least) and stop searching for "the perfect" foundation. I can very well live with the result this one gives me. PS: Someone said Revlon colorstay was a dupe (well, many people say that) but I think it's A LOTTTTTT heavier on the skin than SFF! So in that way not at all comparable in my opinion.

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - L'Eau d'Issey
rated 5 of 5
Cellove15 11/7/2011 2:25:00 PM

Amazing!!! A fresh, clean, floral, slightly woody scent with a hint of honey (to me!... guess that's just me though ;)). Lasts all day. I keep sniffing on my clothes when wearing this. Nice bottle as well. Just amazing. ... Only downside is the price but .... it does last longer than any other perfume I've ever bought.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe
rated 3 of 5
Cellove15 10/26/2011 6:21:00 AM

Funny... I feel like there's a lot of hype around this eyeshadow-color and personally... I find it looks nice in the jar and nice swatched but on the eye... don't know. Not for me somehow. Don't think it's the perfect crease color. No. I got a cheap eyeshadow from a German natural skincare brand (called "alverde: baked eyeshadow" in mauve) and it's almost exactly the same color but looks sooooo much better on the lid for some reason. Satin Taupe is not a must-have for me. Generally overrated in my opinion. Take care you choose colors that match YOU PERSONALLY instead of buying a hyped product just for the hype (like I did with satin taupe 2 years ago ;)). Wasn't worth it, after all.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Wedge Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
Cellove15 10/26/2011 6:16:00 AM

Great, great, great color!!! Can't believe I almost didn't buy it coz I thought it was a bit boring at first. But luckily the (nice, gay) guy at MAC literally forced me to do so coz he thought it was the perfect color for me (got NC 15 skin, blue eyes, blonde hair) and he was sooo right!!! It's amazing as a crease color!!! Decent and subtle. Easy to blend! Can't go wrong with this one!!!! Especially as a beginner. I think this eyeshadow really might work for every fair-skinned person. If you've darker skin I think it might not show up enough, though. Love this eyeshadow and will repurchase this one time and time again. Actually I think I'm gonna buy it as long as it's available. And I hope that's gonna be forever.

Blush -Alima - Mineral Blush
rated 4 of 5
Cellove15 10/26/2011 6:03:00 AM

First things first: these blushes are pretty nice. And I use them on an everyday basis. It's natural and safe and that is a great plus for me. Also I really like the company in general. On the other hand I wouldn't rave about the blushes they offer. Funny thing is that even with the many colors available only 2-3 seem to suit me which is pretty weird. The others are either too pigmented and thus often a little too dark (no matter how little I apply) or too light. For reference I got NC-15 skin in MAC and I like Mimosa and Sugar Rose. Apricot I find way too orangey. Pink is too intense for me. Apple Blossom doesn't show up at all. Primrose is too light. Freja, again...a tiny bit too pigmented/dark also. Funny thing is I mixed a few samples I had together (Mimosa and Pink; Freja and Primrose) and suddenly ended up with nice very wearable colors. So, it's a little weird. I seem to have no luck with color matching at alima. :/ ... Due to the fact they offer soooo many colours it's really strange. But overall... the few that I find that suit me are very nice blushes, that stay on a long time. Also what I never expected at first is that I prefer the shimmer blushes over the matte ones. The mates... can make you look chalky again I think.. especially when you go all mineral makeup. Then a little shimmer seems nice, I think. Would have expected to prefer the matte ones in general but no. Not the case.

Powder -Alima - Satin Matte Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Cellove15 10/26/2011 5:52:00 AM

I've got mixed feelings about this product. What I like is the fact that it's 100% natural and got safe ingredients (especially a safe sunscreen). Sadly, I've got a few problems with this product also. First... although the color range is huge I seem to hve difficulties finding the right match. I feel that this MM leaves a slight white cast on my skin (might be too light then) but when I go darker on the color range it seems right at first but I feel (and I think noone mentioned that before, so is it only me?!!) but I feel it oxidizes slightly during the first hour of wearing and suddenly it seems too dark. Weird. Also I have a tendency to look a little chalky. I could use less product to avoid that but then the coverage is not enough for me. So: It's a product I wanna like because it's natural (and I gotta say it is the best natural MM I've ever tried) and still... I gotta be honest and say that with most liquid foundations I get a better result. Can't deny that fact. Still using it at the moment though, coz I'm fed up with putting chemicals on my face. Oh and: no breakouts or reactions with this what-so-ever... so that is pretty good.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Miracle
rated 5 of 5
Cellove15 11/11/2010 1:08:00 PM

Bought this 3 weeks ago and used it every day since. I gotta say this is the ONLY foundation I've ever used that DOES NOT IRRITATE my skin in any way. Actually I think it makes it look better. I don't know. Might be because it doesn't irritate my skin and thus it is more clear overall. (And I've tried a lot of foundations these couple last years!) It's only medium coverage. So if you love full coverage this foundation is not for you. But it does enhance the glow of your skin and makes it look more healthy and radiant. When using this you don't look all made up but very natural. BUT... you need alright skin to begin with to look good in it!!!! Otherwise it's just too little coverage. But this foundation AND concealer does work for me personally and it feels more healthy on my skin than other foundations. What's else is my shade (Beige Albattre, 01; I'm NC15-NC20 in MAC) is VERY yellow-toned! It's.. guess it wouldn't work for people with pink undertones, maybe. Better try it out in person instead of just ordering online.

Liquid -Clinique - Anti Blemish Solutions Liquid Make Up
rated 4 of 5
Cellove15 10/28/2010 11:38:00 AM

Mixed feelings: Pros: looks very natural, very lightweight, doesn't cause me to break out, good colour range (!!!), neither too yellow or too pink, does help clear up skin I feel CONS: only medium coverage, slightly wears off during the day, a little bit too matt (dull) finish if you ask me Hm, I guess the perfect "no-breakout, natural looking, leightweight but perfect coverage"- foundation has yet to be invented. I haven't found it yet amoung the zillions I've tried. Always pros and cons I'm afraid.
