Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
Cellardoor367 8/6/2011 11:25:00 PM
I used a travel size sample of this and I thought it seemed so awesome so I bought it. It wasn't the same using it every day. It feels like there is a residue left on my skin sometimes, even though it gets so dry. And it is insanely painful to get in your eyes!!! I don't k.ow why it wasn't the same having the full size bottle. Maybe its not meant for everyday use.

Cleansers -Clinique - Wash-Away Gel Cleanser
Cellardoor367 5/22/2011 10:58:00 PM
I bought this instead of the rinse away foaming cleanser because this one is specifically for oily skin. I like the smell and the texture. I also like that you only need a small amount because it really goes far. I am not sure about it because I feel like there is a film left on my skin. I didnt notice this with the other cleanser. I think the other cleanser might have done a better job of removing my foundation as well. It seems to remove more oil than their other cleansers, but its not a huge difference. I probably will return to the other one after this. Edit *** I ended up returning this after my face broke out in tiny red bumps. There's hundreds of them all over my face and I feel like I haven't washed in a week. I will not use this again.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Cellardoor367 5/22/2011 10:30:00 PM
I LOVE this foundation! I didnt think there was anything better than Mac studio fix but I like this much more. The difference: this one is easier to blend because it takes longer to set, I need less product for full coverage, it lasts considerably longer, does not require primer, and looks powdery after it has set. The negative is- I had to buy a much higher quality face wash/remover because it is a little more difficult to take off. It also ruined my stippling brush, and I cant find the perfect color. Also the color selection leaves something to be desired. I ended up with a neutral shade (next time I will play with colors myself instead of being matched). I have mixed it with studio fix for some more natural looking color and got great results. I still would rather not have to do this. If you are on the fence it is so worth getting a sample and trying for a few days! It looks awesome. ***Also- I got a MAC PUMP for the top and it fits perfectly

Lip Treatments -Carmex - CHERRY Click-Stick
Cellardoor367 3/6/2011 10:14:00 PM
This is a greaat product! I am switching to this from burts bee's. I bought one for my boyfriend because he needed something healing and soothing for his job out in the elements. I thought the SPF was a great bonus. It applies easily and has a slight cooling/soothing feeling. It lasts longer than the burts bees too. The smell is alright, its not too strong- which makes it perfect for men or women. All around does a good job.

Primer/ Corrector -Pop Beauty - Face Magnet Primer
Cellardoor367 3/6/2011 9:33:00 PM
I am REALLY impressed with this primer! I got a sample long enough to last me a week so I could see how it performed at work/school/gym etc before I bought it because it is really expensive. I do not mean to sound dramatic, but this is the best primer I have ever used. That being said- I know what I like- and did my homework before trying this. I hate most primers that have that generic "silky" feeling,( like the only ingredient is Dimethicone. ) I was attracted to this one because on my hand it looked and felt a lot like Elmer's Glue! It makes my skin feel very very soft and it certainly improves the look of foundation. My foundation spreads more evenly and it gives my skin tone a glow. So far it has beat my old primers as far as staying power! And I can see subtle changes from the firming ingredients. I would most certainly buy it again even thought its a little too expensive. ***Ladies with oily skin- I use a light weight moisturizer. If your moisturizer is heavier this may be too thick for you. I am not sure because mine is very light. It is certainly not the heaviest primer I have used, but its something to think about before applying. With my current routine, my make up looks the same at night as it did when I applied it in the morning. (It seems to control the oil very well) *EDIT* I have used this a few times and I actually received a few compliments at work- coworkers said my face looks thinner and my wrinkles are less noticeable. I am absolutely planning on buying this asap!

Conditioner -Redken - Blonde Glam Conditioner
Cellardoor367 2/22/2011 6:18:00 PM
I really, really like this product. It cleans hair and scalp thoroughly. I like this because it makes my hair look healthy. It does not lather as much as I would like, so it can be a little tricky to tell if you have covered your whole head. I have often looked at brunettes and thought their hair looked so much thicker and healthier, blondes seem to have trouble accomplishing this with the same ease. This product gave my hair some oomph. I would buy it again if I could afford it, but it is pricey. I will probably not repurchase because of the price. But if it was affordable for me I would buy it again.

Mascara -Smashbox - Lash DNA
Cellardoor367 12/29/2010 11:39:00 PM
I really like this mascara! I get great results every time I use it. The spooley has a different look to it: Imagine if you took the end of a regular spooley and twisted it a little, thats what this one looks like. I find it is so practical because it picks up any clumps on the lashes as you apply it. (they get stuck back on the spooley as you twist slightly). They make my lashes look so much longer without any clumping. (my pet peeve- I hate clumpy looking lashes!) I had no idea when I first started using it that it was also supposed to curl your lashes too. I can see now that this is part of the differences in this mascara. My lashes look longer and thicker- but each lash can still be identified. If I coat the lashes on the outer corners a second time, I get a cool illusion of even longer lashes! My only complaint is it is really really hard to remove at the end of the night. *** I put this on carefully and build it up slowly. It would just be too much product slapped on at once. This is the type of product I would recommend for the gal that cares about precision. If mascara is a quick last step for you this might not be the best product for you, this mascara is like sculpting the lashes you want, not just darkening them. **

Brows -Smashbox - Brow tech
Cellardoor367 12/26/2010 9:34:00 PM
Pros: The wax and powder are separated by metal in the middle so the powder doesnt get mixed in with the wax. The brow powder matches my color better than any I have EVER found. (Ash blonde) The Wax has a nice amount of holding power & goes on clear. When wax is applied first, much less powder is needed as it really brings out the pigment. Cons: Rather small amount considering the price Applicator sold separate Product can be tricky to use for some customers. They should have added tips and tricks. This is a nice product and I felt it did what it promised. I would buy this again if I felt my brows were worth the price. I have never found a color that matched so well. I might return to this simply because I cannot find a color that is very ashy and very light- like this one. It took me a while to find the right applicator to use with it. (purchased one from a different company) I wish it had tips and tricks for application because brow powder and wax can be a little difficult if you do not know what you're doing. Overall, a good experience with smashbox brow tech.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Color Protect Daily Shampoo
Cellardoor367 12/26/2010 9:18:00 PM
I got this a month ago for my birthday. A friend (who is also a stylist) got this so I would start protecting my all over blonde color. I am not as impressed as I thought I would be. (First time using Paul Mitchell) I always feel like there is residue left in my hair. It's probably a good shampoo & conditioner, but it doesn't feel like its doing enough cleaning. (believe it or not I went back to treseme over this one) Pros: Gentle & preserving for colored hair. Cap on the condtioner is orange and cap on shampoo is white so you wont accidentally use the wrong one Smell is minimal but nice Cons: Doesnt feel like it removes oil and product build up. Conditioner leaves build up every time I use it. Looks less shiny after using this product. Feels heavy

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
Cellardoor367 10/17/2010 9:30:00 PM
I didn't realize when I bought this what the formula would be like, I tried it in the store but it was difficult to get a good amount on and my lips happened to be chapped at the time. The first ingredient is castor oil, I was surprised to find this in a MAC lipstick. If you don't have any experience with castor oil lip products they are very very creamy and usually opaque. The problem is castor oil seems to sit on top of the lips and rub away quickly. I have heard people describe the color as classic barbie pink.... it does have some of a barbie pink to it but it is definently different. When I put one coat on I could see the the natural redish tint of my lips coming through quite a bit, so I had to do 3 or 4 coats to get the full coverage I wanted. When I applied this much product I found it streaked when I puckered my lips. This might not be too noticeable except that the color is so powdery and light it really sticks out. It is also not the best shade for someone with a very warm under tone. I am an NC 25, and while it does look nice it doesn't compliment my skin tone like other colors would. My friend (an NC 15-20) tried it on and she looked amazing. I would recommend trying it first- especially if you are a warm skin tone. The packaging is very cute and the shape of the actual product is what you would expect a lipstick to look like, no surprises there. It has Lady Gaga's 'signature' in red on the box and on the tube (probably why I fell for it). This is my first MAC lipstick and while the color is unique and the pigment is sufficient I wish the formula was better. I would like this more if it was a bit less creamy and just a tad thicker, for fuller coverage and longer wear. If I don't fuss with my lips it lasts about 30-45 minutes. (wore it all day at work) I think I will use it with a very sticky peach lip gloss, to tone the pink down and keep it on my lips longer. INGREDIENTS: Castor seed oil, dipentaerythirityl hexahydroxystearate, Candellila wax, caprycilic tryglyceride, pvp/hexadecene copolymer, polyethylene, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, cetyl acetate, lanolin oil, cetyl lactate, butyrospermum parki (shea butter), polydecene, beeswax, glycerine soja (soybean) seed extract, tocopheryl acetate, ascorbyl palmitate, ceramide 3, synthetic wax, synthetic beeswax, silica, calcium sodium borosilicate, alumina, tin oxide, acetylated lanolin alcohol, cetyl alcohol, vanillin [+/- Mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, bismuth oxychloride, blue 1 lake, carmine, red 6, red 6 lake, red 7 lake, red 21 lake, red 28 lake, red 30 lake, red 33 lake, yellow 5 lake, yellow 6 lake, yellow 10 lake]

Shampoo -Carol's Daughter - Rosemary Mint Shampoo with Sea Moss
Cellardoor367 10/14/2010 10:38:00 PM
I really really like this because of the experience I have in the shower when I am using it. It is cooling and tingles on my scalp, when I go to wipe it away it gets on my faces and the fresh minty tingle continues. Then I use the conditioner and even more of the refreshing mint. I told a friend of mine (also a hair dresser) how much I love it and she had to ruin it for me by explaining that it was terrible for my thin, blonde, color treated hair, and it is best used for ethnic hair. So I guess since it isn't made for my hair type I shouldn't really go on about how it works... (?) But I will say, if it is for a hair type unlike mine at all I wouldn't have noticed. The conditioner was great and I didn't have an unusually hard time detangling the knots right after a shower. I don't care for the packaging because I think the plastic bottle is too thick, which means you have to wait for the syrupy texture to run down to the cap before you can get some out. (I don't like that it wastes plastic either!) It's also a small bottle for the price. Would I repurchase it again? If it wasn't for my friend going on and on about how I am stripping my color and I should be using redken (which I dont even like!) I would probably buy this all the time because I love the minty sensation and the smell is herbally fantastic! What the heck, I probably will buy it anyway!

Eyes -Ardell - Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel
Cellardoor367 9/10/2010 12:45:00 AM
I bought this for my eyebrows, but I also applied it to my lashes. A few years ago I over plucked the top part of my brows until there wasnt enough to make an arch. (eek!) As my brows grew back I ended up with two bare spots above each brow. For a while I wondered whether there was anything there or if I had just imagined it because it had been so long since the hair was there. I applied this every morning and every night, I have been using it for a month and a half now. After about two weeks I noticed little bits of hair growth where my bare patches had been, I also noticed strays below my brow were growing very fast, and the inner corners. I cannot even express my excitement- it's been so long since I have had full brows! At about 2.5 weeks the growth was noticeably longer - and there was more hairs popping up. (This is around the time I noticed my lashes looked a little longer, but I stopped using it on my lashes because it made my lids very itchy.) It's been a month and three weeks now of daily use and the growth seems to have slowed down some, I was hoping more growth would keep showing up but I still have noticeable patches. I will keep using this until its gone because the growth that has appeared seems to be getting longer. I have not noticed any thickening or darkening of the brow hairs. The only thing I do NOT like about it at all s the packaging. Its awful, everytime I pull the wand out I waste 3-4 applications worth of gel. So I stopped taking the wand out, instead I just pull it out partially and get the gel on my fingers, then apply to my brows. If I was pulling the wand out this tube would be gone by now I'm sure. *UPDATE* It's been almost two more weeks since I reviewed this. I have noticed some more growth on the inner corners of my brows and the outer ends. At first I thought a stray or two had popped up at the ends but more followed and now my brows are actually longer at the ends! (YAY) I am still not satisfied with the fullness of my brows, the bald patches in the middle had been growing in but now that growth seems to have slowed. The product is nearly gone because much of it is wasted due to poor packaging. Will update again when it's gone. *UPDATE* I got another tube of this in a RAOK, and when I opened it and pull the wand out- almost no product came out! Turns out the last tube was broken and I never realized it. I would almost say now there is too little product, but that might be because I was using gobs of it. Keep in mind when you've finished this review- I used much more than directed because of manufacturer error, this might affect results. (I am STILL getting new growth slowly appearing all over my brows).

Hair Color -Garnier - Herbashine
Cellardoor367 8/24/2010 10:56:00 AM
I am very happy with this product! The color came out exactly as pictured on the box which I did not expect. I had been using Clairol Natural Instincts Sahara Blonde before this, but I picked this up because it was on sale and looked a bit ashier which is what I wanted. It basically is still the same hair I had before but a tad lighter and the tone is much more vibrant then my natural color. I can't comment on the gloves because I use a color mixing bowl and brush from Sallys, and I use half a box just on my roots. I will update with its lasting power and second application! EDIT* I use this color all the time now. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes and on my natural roots it looks just like the box. On the already colored strands of my hair nothing happens. This is great because it doesnt change my foiled high lights. The first application to uncolored hair last a few weeks but fades a little over time. This isnt a problem for me because as I keep touching up the roots the color growing out gets a boost. Pros: Color & tone is even Application is easy and fast (10 minutes) Less damaging than other products On natural hair -color is as described on box. No intense ammonia smell One box can last me up to 3 root touch ups Affordable Doesnt color hair that has already been color treated Cons: Have to touch up as color fades every few weeks Doesnt color hair that has already been color treated Outcome could be undesirable on already color treated hair I really tried to think of more cons- but this IS a good product for me! :-)

Conditioner -Nexxus - Humectress Conditioner
Cellardoor367 8/20/2010 11:11:00 PM
Wow! I have just tried this for the first time and I am really impressed. My hair felt like butter before it was even completely rinsed out. I have thin colored hair, and sometimes deep conditioners are too much (dont think this is actually deep conditioner) but this provides me with the right amount of softness without being too soft, it still stayed in the pony tail. I really like this conditioner and may buy it for myself. (borrow a friends!). Smell is slight but pleasant, and it washed out completely, no residue, all I did was air dry! I think this is my favorite shampoo & conditioner combo I have ever used. (Not a compliment I hand out freely) I really was impressed with this product!

Polishes -Avon - Nailwear Pro in Jade
Cellardoor367 8/19/2010 10:55:00 PM
I just purchased this and was expecting a shade very very similar to Essie mint candy apple but it is a little different, it's greener then Essie and a tad bit darker, but still a pastel for sure. I like this one because I feel like it could go from playful to serious with more ease than other pastels, and it would look amazing on tanned summery skin. Cons: takes FOREVER to DRY! ! Took an hour for my nails to dry. Thats a REALLY LONG TIME! Also, it was only sitting in my nail polish box for a month before it started to seperate. I have had this problem before with pastels, not sure if its the formula or the fact that is is a pastel.
