Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector
CathySinMN 6/15/2011 7:53:00 PM
Best hand lotion for dry hands ever!!! I have used it for years and bought at least 20 tubes of the stuff. I have it at the office, by the bed, in the bathroom and a thousand other places. It's great for keeping dry hands from cracking! Some people don't like the smell, but it's just not girly. The body cream is pretty nice too.

Works great on my color treated hair! I will be using this a lot since Dove Intensives changed their formula.

Powder -Alima - Satin Matte Mineral Foundation
CathySinMN 8/22/2010 7:46:00 PM
Great color selection! I emailed their makeup artists who helped me find 4 colors that might work for me. Two of the three were very close matches, but one was dead on! The foundation worked great and stayed on all day. Will definitely buy again!

Primer/ Corrector -Alima - Balancing Primer Powder
CathySinMN 8/22/2010 7:42:00 PM
This primer worked great at keeping the oil down and my face looking great all day. Not too dry, not too oily. I just ordered two full size jars in light. I am making the large sample they sent me last until they arrive this week. June 2011 UPDATE: I have continued to re-order this product. It is Great!! Does awesome in humid hot weather! I always have it on hand!

Conditioner -Dove - Intense damage therapy - with serum
CathySinMN 8/14/2010 9:04:00 PM
This was the best, but I think they changed the packaging and the formula. The conditioner is now a runny version of what it used to be. It was great in that dark blue bottle, but the new Intensive version (white bottle) is like a cheap knock off of the original.

Sunscreen -Clarins - (New Formula) UV Plus Day Screen SPF 40 High Protection with E3P
CathySinMN 8/14/2010 8:58:00 PM
Great lightweight sunscreen that never breaks me out! This stuff is expensive but a little goes a long way. Great matte finish. Not sticky. Works great in hot humid summers and dry cold winters. I have not found a better sunscreen for my face so this is must-buy for me.

Treatments -Caudalie - Vinoperfect Complexion Correcting Radiance Serum
CathySinMN 8/22/2009 9:54:00 AM
I used a sample of this for a week and overall liked it. I thought it increased skin firmness while I used it, and gave me a "glow" -- but I didn't notice the brown spots fading at all. I really liked the product, but am going to keep looking for a Vit C product that does the same or more for less $$$.

Sunscreen -Clarins - UV PLUS Protective Day Screen SPF 40
CathySinMN 7/5/2009 11:07:00 PM
I was going through a period of time when I needed to work outside everyday, and of course, I wore sunscreen. The problem was that even though I did not burn from the sun - my skin was red and irritated. After some research, I figured out my skin was reacting to the chemical sunscreen(s) I was using. The sales clerk at Sephora suggested I try Clarins UV Plus, since its a mineral sunscreen and I absolutely love it! It is not greasy, doesn't turn my skin into a white mask, and best of all - does not irritate my skin. I just finished up my first 1 oz. bottle (it lasted 3+ months) and bought the 1.7 oz. size. The new bottle is the *new* formula, which some has said is different - guess I will find out soon!! LONG STORY SHORT: Love this stuff, not heavy or sticky. Leaves skin with matte finish, but not dry.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
CathySinMN 11/11/2008 9:21:00 PM
Great coverage - I use mine as a concealer. The intensive formula has more color choices, which makes it easier to blend. I am using the Golden Fair right now, but might go to sunlight as winter progresses.

Moisturizers -Kinerase - Ultimate Night Moisturizer
CathySinMN 11/11/2008 9:14:00 PM
If I had a million dollars I WOULD buy this. I loved the samples I had, but in reality I can't justify the expense of a full tube. It had a great texture, was not greasy and gave me all day moisture without making me shiny. I ended up buying "When Hope is Not Enough", which is half the price and had a similar texture. Not quite the same, but so far I don't have any regrets!

Moisturizers -Philosophy - when hope is not enough replenishing cream
CathySinMN 11/11/2008 9:07:00 PM
So far I really like this. It moisturizes and is not greasy. I use it as a day cream, with a 40 SPF mineral sunscreen and so far it has been good in the colder weather. I really like that it does not make me shiny, and mineral makeup sits on top of it well.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar for Dry, Sensitive Skin
CathySinMN 11/11/2008 9:00:00 PM
I got this as part of a kit and it’s just okay. I have very dry skin in the winter -- and this helps, but it makes my face too greasy. I’ll be using this at night – to use it up, but won’t buy it again. I also got “When Hope is Not Enough” cream, and that is much less greasy – I have been using that during the day and so far, so good. That is very moisturizing but leaves a matte finish to my face.

Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - 3 Inch Fragrance Atomizer
CathySinMN 11/11/2008 8:52:00 PM
I bought the pink slim version of this and had the same problem as others - it leaks! Everytime I use it it dribbles perfume down the side. The plastic free atomizers they give free samples out in work better than this... again, wish I had the sales slip, because this would go back!

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professionnel Refillable Powder Brush #54
CathySinMN 11/11/2008 8:47:00 PM
Not worth the money. The quality of the brush is good, but it does not: 1) dispense powder through the brush, 2) the bottom (where you put the powder in) keeps opening up -- even with the brush in the closed position. As you can guess - this has caused a mess, and 3) the brush cover/cap does not fit over the brush and bends the bristles. Wish I had not thrown the sales slip away!
