Lip Treatments -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Lip Moisturizer SPF 15
CarmenJones 1/1/2010 1:33:00 AM
This review is for the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Moisturizer with SPF 15, not the one already listed with SPF 20. This one is fragrance free, colorless, and has a very short ingredients list. I really can't smell any scent or taste anything, maybe a little sunblock at the most. It's highly moisturizing (a little on the greasy side), lasts quite a while on the lips, and makes a nice base for lipstick or gloss. I have very bad allergies so I'm extra sensitive to smells and this one doesn't bother me at all (unlike Nivea, which smells of heavy perfume & makes me cough). This is one of the only lip balms I can use, because of my allergies besides ChapStick products. I don't know if anyone else is as sensitive as me--I have to use unscented deodorant, soap, face wash, and lotion. I have only seen this product at Walgreens, where it was $2.89--they also sell the regular Lip Moisturizer, but it was all sold out. I do not know if this is a new product, but I've seen reviews going pretty far back. This is not as waxy as ChapStick, so it has a slicker feel to it. With this balm, you do not twist it from the bottom to bring more up, you twist it from the top. I seem to be going through this tube pretty fast, I don't think it will last more than a couple of weeks. Overall, this is a nice product worth trying, especially if you're sensitive to scents, want sun protection, or if you want a completely colorless lip balm to use under glosses or lipsticks. :-) Ingredients: Active Ingredients Octinoxate - 7.5%Sunscreen , Oxybenzone - 4.0%Sunscreen Inactive Ingredients Castor (Ricinus Communis) Seed Oil , Corn (Zea Mays) Oil , Ozokerite , Petrolatum , Beeswax , Ethylhexyl Palmitate , Paraffin , Stearyl Alcohol , Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera) Wax , BHT Packaging Info: Softens, smoothes and protects dry, chapped lips from the sun with no waxy feel. This moisture-enriched formula soothes and conditions your lips, keeping them healthy looking and soft in all weather. * Contains PABA-free SPF 15 sunscreen to guard against the sun's UVA and UVB rays. * Use every day to keep lips smooth and moisturized. * Formulated with highest quality ingredients - there's no color, no fragrance, no unnecessary additive. Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Moisture Cream Sensitive SPF 15
CarmenJones 9/5/2009 1:43:00 AM
My review is for the OLD version of Olay Complete Sensitive Skin SPF 15, I've been using it for years. This version of the lotion is a HG daytime moisturizer for me. It works well with my skin, properly moisturizes it, and isn't too greasy. It doesn't cause breakouts and sinks in pretty quickly. This doesn't have that sunscreen smell & is great for sensitive skin. I have often wished Olay made a moisturizer just like it, but without the sunscreen for night-time use. This product was perfect, I don't know why they had to change the formula. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I've heard the new version is horrible, causes irritation & pimples, and has a loud smell. They changed the active ingredient...I believe they've changed all the sunscreen formulas, now carrying a yellow label on the box, instead of green. So if you can still find the old formula, grab it or get a generic version of it.

Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash
CarmenJones 9/5/2009 12:45:00 AM
This cleanser is just too harsh for my skin. I must have the most sensitive skin in the world, even sensitive products & baby products can irritate me or dry me out. This product got good ratings from Paula & on here, so I tried it. It is fragrance-free, color free, and made with aloe & other natural ingredients. I used this "gentle" product for quite a while, before I realized, that it was causing so much trouble. Seems like it would be gentle, but it dried my forehead out like nobody's business and made pimples all over it with skin rough as a cheese grater. Whenever I would moisturize my face with a good moisturizer at night & use this to cleanse in the morning, it would strip my skin of all moisture and oil. It made the rest of my face dry, but not as dry as my forehead. It also made big dry spots on the inner corners of both of my eyes that would not come off, no matter how much eye salve or vaseline I used. I've found out that my skin is so sensitive that if it's not properly moisturized or if a product dries it out, I develop lots and lots of pimples & roughness. My skin would be dry, but just as oily as usual, if not more so. But, I noticed when I used this cleanser with Olay's own Moisture Therapy Cream (lots of cream, of course) my skin stayed pretty smooth & moisturized. Now, I can't find the Moisture Therapy Cream in stores. Any other cream I've tried with it, whether by Olay or not, does not moisturize at all, when this cleanser dries me out. I think this cleanser would be good for other people with oily skin or combination that is not as sensitive as mine. I'm using Dove's Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar now & it moisturizes some and doesn't seem to dry me out as much. I still have to use a good thick moisturizer with it.

Polishes -Sinful - Dream On
CarmenJones 9/4/2009 10:41:00 PM
This one is a bright neon magenta shade that dries a little darker than it does in the bottle. A very beautiful & happy shade that makes you smile. I have seen colors like this in some other lines. It dries matte, so I used a topcoat to shine it back up. I'm giving this polish a 4, because I found that it chipped a little faster than my other polishes. I posted a pic.

Polishes -Sinful - Fiji

A very pretty violet purple color...This is one of the most beautiful, unique colors that I own. It has some shimmer in it and looks great, inside or out, and glows in sunlight. The wear is pretty nice on this one with a topcoat. My pic is posted above. Definitely a color to get noticed in, it's a standout against other purples :-)

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey
CarmenJones 8/14/2009 8:48:00 PM
Oh my goodness, this color is one of my very favorites! It's a beautiful robin's egg blue color that applies creamy, thick, and smooth. You can get away with 1 coat if you want & it's opaque, but I used 2. This polish dried fast for me & it was shiny, but I still used a topcoat. I wore it for 9 days with barely any tip wear or chips. The color is bright, happy, and very unique; plus, it seems to work with a variety of skintones. It looks sort of pale blue & washed out in the bottle, but it doesn't go on that way. A lot of blues can stain your nails or make them yellow, but this one didn't. China Glaze is known for making a lot of unique colors and this is definitely one of them.

Polishes -China Glaze - Spontaneous
CarmenJones 6/12/2009 6:58:00 PM
Super smooth, beautiful, shiny purple creme polish. This polish is very easy to apply, it has no shimmer (it's a true creme), and lasts a fairly long time on my nails (over a week, with very little wear & chips). On me, the polish dries a little darker than the bottle color...A very pretty purple for anyone's collection!

Polishes -China Glaze - Shocking Pink
CarmenJones 6/11/2009 6:27:00 PM
This is a beautiful super bright pink neon. It's so gorgeous, especially in the sun. I used 2 coats for the bottle color...This one has really great wear, I wore it over a week. Sometimes, the wear with neons is not so good, but that's not true with this one (Turned Up Turquoise also wears great!). Milani's Pink Pop is a very similar color, but the wear on me wasn't so good, I experienced chips & tip wear in a few days.

Lipstick -NYX - Pluto
CarmenJones 5/17/2009 11:44:00 PM
This is the ugliest lipstick shade on the planet for me--it looks like burnt black chocolate on my lips. It's totally unflattering, much too dark for my complexion. NYX has a "sample" of the shade encased in plastic at the bottom, but it is much lighter than the actual shade. The sample fooled me!

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Petites - Shock 407
CarmenJones 5/10/2009 12:51:00 AM
I have about 5 of these little polishes now. Shock (I love the name!) is a lovely light yellow color that's infused with silver shimmer through out. It positively glows in the sun and in bright lighting. The application is also nice--I used 2 coats. Perfect for a sunny spring or summer day or anytime you need a pick-me-up!

Polishes -China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise 849237
CarmenJones 2/5/2009 7:27:00 PM
What can I say about this polish?! It is absolutely, positively one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen or used on my nails! It shimmers, shines, and just glows, especially in the sunlight. It's not your typical turquoise shade, because it's more on the green end of the spectrum. This shade has the perfect amount of smooth shimmer in it and it is just as beautiful on the nail as it is in the bottle. It really pops with my skin complexion and it goes with every piece of clothing imaginable. Applies like a dream, takes 2 coats, & a shiny top coat for full effect. I wore this polish for over a week with very little tip wear and only a couple of chips.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer - Purple Shock
CarmenJones 10/29/2008 6:15:00 PM
Purple Shock is a new shade from Rimmel's Exaggerate Waterproof line. On the package, it mentions you can make your line--natural or dramatic. This is a twist-up liner that comes with a smudger and pull out sharpener on the bottom. The liner is a gorgeous shade of purple, a lilac/violet with some blue tone. It's like a liner version of Milani Enchantment or NYX Purple e/s. I really love this kind of color, whether in e/s, liner, or lipgloss form (like Lancome Juicy Tubes Pop in Plum Freeze!). Purple Shock lasted for hours and hours on my top & bottom lids without creasing or smudging. This is a great color for brown eyes, it really makes them POP! This liner is smooth and creamy and easy to draw on, there is no tugging or pulling of your eyelid. For extra oomph, I line with a jet black liner near my lashes and then line above that with this liner, and add mascara. I believe it is water-proof, like they say. I swatched it on my hand and washed them several times, before it even moved. It also didn't move from my eye area. Oil really gets it off. A little hard to remove, but really stays on!

Eyeliner -Jordana - Color XTend Eyeliner in Black Out
CarmenJones 10/29/2008 4:39:00 PM
Love it! This liner is super smooth, creamy, and jet black. It doesn't tug on my delicate eye area, so even a beginner could use this product. I don't know if it's water-proof, but I would say it's pretty much fade-proof, I wore it for more than 13 hours and it didn't fade or crease at all (didn't even use primer!). The Color XTend pencils are great, I also have a lipliner that is pretty and velvety smooth. Too bad it's not available @ Walgreens anymore, that was so convenient.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Eyeliner E-70 Denim
CarmenJones 8/15/2008 9:48:00 PM
I love this pencil--it is soft, creamy, and VERY easy to apply. The color is a vibrant turquoise blue that makes brown eyes POP ;-) There is absolutely NO tugging or dragging, only smoothness...This pencil has silver packaging with an endcap that has the color of the pencil's lead. Lasts hours on me and doesn't smudge with or without primer. I use it to line my top & bottom lids, it works perfectly!

CarmenJones 8/14/2008 12:32:00 AM
This pencil just glides on buttery smooth and there is absolutely NO tugging. It is creamy soft & very easy to apply to top & bottom lids. The color is a smokey plum purple--gorgeous on brown eyes! Lasted well on my top & bottom lids with or with out primer. These pencils are gold with an endcap the color of the pencil's lead.
