No. 21 blends right in with my skin! I was surprised to find that just one dot of bb cream could cover such a large area. No additional foundation or concealer was necessary with just one layer, and I didn't even feel that I was wearing makeup! It makes my skin look super smooth and even. When I wore this for my graduation, I found that it lasted well into eight hours without touchups though it doesn't cover darker spots or moles completely. However, for slight redness here and there, this product is amazing! One other thing I love is that the bb cream comes with a pump dispenser, which not only dispenses the suitable amount, but also avoids contamination of the product! The SPF included is a big benefit for my skin because I burn easily! For the occasional half hours I spend in the sun without sunscreen, this helps!
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Pink Grapefruit Body Butter

I tried this after I finished my tub of mango body butter because it was on sale. It moisturized just as well as the mango and had the same smooth texture. However, the tangy, citrus scent on this one lasted a lot longer, lingering in my bathroom, and was definitely much stronger than the mango body butter. My mom actually complained it was too "spicy" and that it smelt of armpits. I guess that's the main negative of this body butter!
This was the first shampoo I've ever used that came in a big tub and had a grainy texture, so it was an interesting experience! The tub could've been made so that it is easier to close, but nevermind that. First off, the lather it could be worked into was great, and I only need an amount the size of my thumb to clean my hair completely (it's about five inches longer than my shoulders). My hair felt clean after one rinse, and the smell of the shampoo was so fresh! I found that this shampoo helps add volume to my hair (which is normally medium in thickness). When I wake up in the morning after washing with this at night, my hair doesn't feel as flat at the crown but keeps that "just washed", soft feel. Sadly, this product is quite hard to find where I live, but I now use Kerastase Bain Satin 1, which gives the same results (different washing experience though).
Lip Treatments -L'Occitane - Ultra riche 10% Shea butter lip balm
Carlala 7/8/2012 11:27:00 AM
At first I thought this would be a great product considering the fact that it contains shea butter. However, I did not find it moisturizing at all and had to frequently reapply every hour- which was a total pain. The tube rolled off my dresser once and cracked, so I believe the packaging isn't all that durable either considering the fact that the height of my dresser is less than a meter. It's not a terrible product though: it's colorless, has a nice vanilla smell, and tastes alright, but compared to its price, I expected more from it.
I found the long handle on this brush a little awkward to use at first because it was much heavier than the travel sized, retractable powder brush that I'm used to using. On first wash, I noticed that it needs more time than just overnight to dry, but none of the hair fell off, so I don't really mind. It helped my powder go on more evenly compared to when I use my less fluffy synthetic brush, but there wasn't an obvious difference in the overall outcome (disappointing for the amount I paid for this!). Also, the squirrel fur it was made from, though very soft to run your fingers through, made my skin a bit itchy, and the bulky size means I can't take it everywhere with me. For that, I think I'll stick with my small synthetic brush- dries faster, still applies well, and it's travel-sized.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Mango Body Butter

This was my first body butter, and I love the subtle scent! It moisturizes my skin well, but sometimes it takes longer for my skin to absorb than I would like when I'm in a rush to leave the house . It's a bit annoying when I leave an oily sheen on reflective objects after using this, but that might be because I tend to apply too much anyway. My skin feels a lot softer and more moisturized after just a week. I would have given this five lippies and consider repurchasing, if the scent lasted longer. In this department, I'd say my Martha Tilaar Blewah Temptation Body Butter is much better, but comparing the two in terms of skin hydration, they're equal.
My SA recommended this to me claiming that my pimples would shrink considerably in a matter of eight hours. I've tried this product for over a month hoping that it would work or that my skin would somehow adjust to it. It didn't. Instead, pimples went away after a few days, which I guess is better than the usual week it normally takes. The problem was that the areas I applied this gel on stung and turned red. For not living up to its claim and irritating my skin, I will definitely not be buying this one again!
This product smelt great, and it shrinks small pimples quite effectively, but I do not find the added redness and stinging sensation it created worth it to keep using! My skin felt especially sensitive to the sun after I applied this (on blemishes using a cottonbud), that I will not be buying this again!
Ever since using this shampoo, I wake up every morning with silky hair! In fact, I can go days without having to comb my hair- that's how incredible this product is, especially for lazy people like me! Even with constant use of the hairdryer, my hair feels moist and fluffy instead of damaged. The shampoo is dispensed out of a little hole at the top of the bottle, but it's still easy to control how much you use. At first I used to think that the smell was too full of chemicals, but as I continued to enjoy the benefits of this shampoo, I grew to like the smell!
Lip Treatments -Yves Rocher - Radiant Lip Balm with Apricot Oil
Carlala 7/8/2012 9:10:00 AM
This is the WORST lip balm I have ever tried! Agreeing with the other reviewers, this balm did not moisturize my lips at all! My lips looked frosted in a gross kind of way when I applied this on, and its chemical taste did not help! To add to that, I didn't even smell a hint of apricot in it. It was such a disappointment to try that I had to throw it out rather than let it sit on my dresser taking up space! The simple packaging, tempting name ("radiant" lip balm), and clean design gave me the impression of a pretty good quality product, but I was SO WRONG with this one!
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
Carlala 7/8/2012 8:56:00 AM
This gives my lips a healthy color, makes my lips feel plump and soft, smells good, and tastes not bad either! I find myself reapplying this quite often because it isn't as moisturizing as I had hoped, but I don't really mind that since the texture of the balm is smooth and doesn't leave a greasy feel.
Loose Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
Carlala 7/8/2012 8:44:00 AM
The powder was really fine that my skin looked super soft and flawless after applying, though this also meant that the powder easily blew off when I opened the casing. The holes in the case were too large compared to the particles that it wastes a lot of the product when I tap the excess powder off my powder brush. It didn't leave a tell-tale white cast on my skin, which was great, but it made my sensitive skin feel a bit itchy. I use this occassionally for my "oily skin days" as I can go up to six hours without needing any oil blotting papers when I use this. I probably won't be buying this since baby powder does a decent job of setting my makeup and controlling the oil without the itchiness and at under a quarter of the price!
Toners -Shu Uemura - Depsea Hydrability Moisturizing Lotion
Carlala 7/8/2012 6:01:00 AM
This is one of the better toners I've used, with SK II's toner coming close in comparison! Firstly, it doesn't irritate my skin by leaving it red, as it does not contain any alcohol. I also sometimes use this after a day where my skin is exposed to the city's pollutants and find that this is sufficient in cleaning my skin without having to wash my face three times a day! I don't use it everyday, but it helps me feel more refreshed on the days that I do!
Cleansers -Shu Uemura - High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Fresh
Carlala 7/8/2012 5:30:00 AM
After trying both the cleansing oil in fresh and the advanced formula one, I have to say that this one is much lighter in feel compared to the advanced formula. It is easy to wash off, doesn't dry out my skin, and allows me to use less moisturizer than with other cleansers! However, the advanced formula is much more effective at reducing the amount of breakouts I have, so I have switched over to that one instead! Overall great product though!
Eyeliner -Revlon - Matte Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner in 01 BLACK TRUFFLE
Carlala 7/8/2012 5:10:00 AM
This is my first eyeliner, and I'm not very happy with how it smudges... It makes me look tired despite 10 hours of sleep! I haven't tried this with a primer underneath, but as a student who wants to apply makeup simply and quickly, I'm not all that impressed with this product. The smudger was just average too. It doesn't produce dramatic smokey eyes or anything like that very smoothly. The eyeliner was very hard to remove, and I keep finding myself cleaning my eyes twice when I try to get rid of the eyeliner! This is especially because the smudges sort of stain the skin around my eyes gray... On the plus side, the pigmented color made my eyes stand out. The texture of the eyeliner was also smooth, so it did not have much drag upon application- plus side for beginners like me. It even smudged less when I lightly dusted over my eyelid with powder to set it, but I'll be trying new brands after this one gets all used up though!
