Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure - Shell We Dance
CapaXildebrand 4/7/2011 12:07:00 PM
I can't stop looking at my nails! I have three coats of this gorgeous sheer, pale, glowy, barely-there pink on. I really can't stop looking at them. It's making it hard to type. There's no shimmer or glitter to this polish, and I think it adds class to it. It makes my fingers look long and elegant. My nails aren't suuuper long, but they have a touch of length to them. Shell We Dance made them look even longer. It's SUCH a feminine color. It makes me think of being the Jane Austen era for some reason. So sophisticated and dainty. The formula was great, applied evenly and I like the width of the brush. Plus, the bottle itself looks classy and sophisticated. I like that. It's not cheap looking at all. It was just under 8 dollars, which is a little pricey for a drugstore polish, but I am not disappointed at all! I would for sure buy it again.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
CapaXildebrand 4/1/2011 1:49:00 PM
I would like to add my vote of satisfation to all other reviews written. Nutty is an exceptional cool-toned taupe brown with subtle shimmer. It's so creamy and soft. It works as either a lid color or in the crease. I love pairing it with Wet 'N' Wild Brulee. Sweet combo! You get a great amount of product with such a small price tag. Good grief, it's just so KIND of a company like Wet 'N' Wild to make SUCH beautiful, pigmented, high-quality shadows for such a low price. How nice is that?! So nice!! Wet 'N' Wild should be President!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in Lust [DISCONTINUED]
CapaXildebrand 3/26/2011 12:18:00 AM
COLORS: Left Side, TOP; A barely-there cool-toned matte pink MIDDLE: A medium matte plum that's more on the pink side than a true purple. BOTTOM: A very deep matte plum wine. Right Side: TOP: A mostly-matte ivory with subtle glitter. (I don't ever see the glitter when I use this as a base all over my eye.) MIDDLE: A satiny/shimmery gunmetal gray. BOTTOM: A deep wine with violet glitter. (again, the glitter is very subtle. It doesn't scream at you.) QUALITY: Highly pigmented, I mean, whoa. Soft. Apply nicely. Blends well if you don't pack it on like crazy, especially the deep colors. I really love this palette. I really really do. I use the top colors as my lid colors. I am very fair, so it works on me- doesn't look too stark. They also work as great bases for other colors. The middle colors work as fabulous crease colors for me. I have a mile of eyelid, so playing with all the darker colors on my crease is very fun. The darker ones work great as definers. The plum colors make my brown eyes look great, and the gunmetal in my crease looks awesome for a smoked effect. I think that this palette is fantastic, and I have been using it every day. You get so much product for such a tiny price. (that adds to my love for it!!)

Lip Treatments -Bath and Body Works - Mentha Lip Balm Stick
CapaXildebrand 3/18/2011 3:35:00 PM
GOOD GRIEF! This...............stuff.................is.................AMAZING. It is. It really really is. My sister gave this to me cause Bath and Body Works was having some buy 2 get 1 free deals. K, this is the CREAMIEST, SMOOTHEST, most MOISTURIZING stuff I have tried. K, and on top of that, it gives your lips a fun little tingle, and smells and tastes like minty bliss. Mm, minty bliss. My husband loves to kiss my minty blissy lips. Yeah? No? Ok. It makes my lips feel healthy and full. I also think the tube looks sleek and sophisticated. I will always buy this chapstick, and so should you.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Dazzlelight
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 4:26:00 PM
It's a sorta shimmery ivory with a slight hint of hidden pink. I mean, it's pretty, it is. It's a great highlight color. It blends well, is pigmented, and all of that jazz, but...when it really comes down to it, I personally don't want to spend that much money on a color I'm just going to use as a highlight, or base. There are plenty of fabulous semi-dupes that work just as well and are just as pretty at a FRACTION of the price. Not naming any names, *cough* *Wet 'N' Wild* *cough.* I'm into function and beauty of the product over paying ridiculous amounts for name brands. So yeah, I guess I should just give this a rating based on it's quality, which is great, but I'm just saying that's it's easily duped and not one of those "earth-shattering" colors.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Illuminance Creme Shadow Quad - Not Just Nudes
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 4:05:00 PM
I wish that I could wear these alone. The colors that Revlon comes up with these Illuminance shadows are GORGEOUS. They really are. I have 3 separate quads. I have found that with even a great primer (I use TFSI) they crease after a while and and get muddy. Seriously, if these worked on their own, I would go nuts. Swatched on my hand, these are luminous, glowing, and pigmented. But, on my eyes, they won't work alone. So, I use them under shadows. I find that the shimmery nude (2nd from left) worn under MAC Naked pigment is GORGEOUS and very glowy. They are great if you like loose eye shadows. I like the packaging. They're quite thin and sleek. They go on sale often, so you can usually pick them up for a very reasonable price, especially considering the fact that you're getting 4 colors. So, these are good as a base for me, but that's all. I can still look at them and enjoy the beauty of the colors in the pan, right?

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Idol Eyes - Creme Shadow Pencil - Pixie
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 3:54:00 PM
I like these chunky little pencils! Comparable to NYX Jumbo Pencils. So, this color is a very nice shimmery beige/champagne. It's CREAMY, blends well, and has good staying power with a primer. When I wear a lighter color on my lid, I like to use this for the inner corners of my eyes. Due to the shimmer, it always looks brighter than other colors and makes my eyes look more awake. The packaging isn't the greatest. The lid cracked on my second use, so I have to be careful. The lid sometimes smashes the tip of the pencil causing me to have to sharpen often. Other than that minor issue, this is a CHEAP great little shadow that can act as a shimmery base, shadow, or highlighter. Will repurchase when I run out.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Lipgloss with Mega Shine - Beige
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 3:45:00 PM
This is PRETTY. That's the first word that comes to my mind when I think of NYX Beige. SO PRETTY! When I received this in the mail, I was a little worried that it would be too bright of a pink for me. (I'm a color wimp, sue me.) Oh, no, it's quite lovely on. The color is a wonderful warm medium pink with no shimmer at all. I like the fact that there is no shimmer, glitter, or frost. The color and shine speak for themselves and don't need any other gimmick to help the beauty. You get SO much product compared to other glosses! (AHEM, MAC...) I love the square tube and cute little bow on the top. I also appreciate how big the wand is, how SOFT it is, and think it's smart that it's bent. It has moderate staying power, and feels totally luxurious and moisturizing on my lips. Oh, I really really adore the smell, too. Candy! It's also cheap, which is really amazing cause NYX could charge a whole heck of a lot more for their glosses because of the exceptional quality and value.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 3:29:00 PM
I have this foundation in the color Ecru. It was MADE for my skin color! It matches it to a T. Awesome. I love how well it covers imperfections! (as I have VERY imperfect skin.) It stays on all day. I don't think it feels heavy at all. It is thicker, yes, but for it to stay so long and cover so well, it needs to be thick. However, it's not to the point of me walking around all day moaning about how heavy my face feels. (boy, that would suck.) It's easy to apply and blend. It is pricey, but lasts me a long long time. It's harder to clean out of foundation brushes since it's thicker and long lasting. I can't say that it either helps my skin, or causes it to break out more. It's neutral in that respect. Overall, it's a great foundation for me.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Lites- Vanilla Swirl
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 3:22:00 PM
WHAT HAPPENED?! I have been a loyal fan of this gloss since jr. high. I ALWAYS had it with me. It was a flattering light pink/nude color that was shiny, moisturizing, and smelled divine. It still smells good, but GOOD NIGHT, WHY did they change the color to a frosty white nightmare? I look dead when I wore this. It's quite cool toned, so I looked like I just came in from a night spent outside in the dead of winter. Yikes. I tossed it. Oh man, I miss the old stuff. I would've given the old color a 10. This? A white over-frosted mess.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Building Primer
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 2:03:00 PM
This is my first mascara primer. I think it's excellent, and I will tell you why (duh, the purpose of writing a review.) It's easy to apply and goes on smoothly. The brush isn't overly large, or awkward. It doesn't make my lashes WHITE!, just sorta whitish, but I like that cause I know there's actually something there. It doesn't clump, and dries nicely. It makes my mascara stay on longer. It doesn't weigh my lashes down. It's doesn't make my mascara clumpy, but on the contrary, makes the mascara smoother. It dries nicely on the very tip of my lashes, so that when I apply my mascara, it goes all the way to the end, making them look SUPER LONG. I think it gives a slight condition to my lashes cause I feel like they're smoother and stronger. Also, an awesome thing is I think it's going to help me use less mascara. Usually I'm coating them like crazy, but a couple swipes, and they're dark, coated, and thick. I really love the packaging, long and sleek, and it seems like there is a lot of product in there. It was relatively cheap, at $13.00 at Sephora. Overall, I'm VERY pleased with my purchase, and will for sure buy again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Naked
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 1:53:00 PM
I really adore Naked. It's a soft, warm, fleshy peach. (I think "fleshy" is a disturbing word, but it's a good description.) It's very soft and easy to work with. It's not shimmery, but I would say it gives a lovely healthy luster to the lid. It's got some "golden" undertones, but I don't look at it and say, "GOLD!" I say, "Hey, that's a warm goldISH hint in there." That's what I say. It's beautiful for a neutral day looks, but paired with deeper colors can be a great striking and dramatic night look. It also works great as a highlighter for the ole cheeks. It's multifunctional, so you feel like you're getting more for your money since MAC pigments are pricey. You get so much product, though! Bottom line: Love it. I always want to have this on hand.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
CapaXildebrand 3/9/2011 1:45:00 PM
OH MY WORD! Ok, so I have NO IDEA why it took me 76 years (approximately) to decide to buy this (interesting number of years considering I'm 27.) So, ok, I was already sold on Wet 'N' Wild eye shadows, but this is magical. Brulee is a warm matte ivory. It's infused with velvet, cashmere, silk, or all three or something. IT'S SO SOFT AND BUTTERY! It goes on like a dream, and is super pigmented to boot. Gosh. I really like the packaging, too. Simple, slender, yet still sleek-looking. So, over TFSI, it completely evened out my eyelid color. I wore it lid to brow, with a shimmery deeper brown in the crease with a dark brown liner, and full black lashes. I looked like a movie star from the 50's. This is GORGEOUS. Go buy it. You need it.

Concealers -L'Oreal - Infallible Concealer
CapaXildebrand 3/2/2011 3:52:00 PM
I really like this concealer. It is creamy, easy to apply, blends well, and does a good job of covering blemishes. It has pretty fair staying power as well. I like the thickness it has. I like the packaging since it's small, skinny, and easy to work with.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler
CapaXildebrand 3/2/2011 3:17:00 PM
The best curler I've ever tried! I have long lashes, but this makes them look LOOOOOONG. I mean, wow, what a difference! It didn't pinch or hurt, and did the job WELL! I bought this because of all the positive reviews, (oh, look how effective MUA is!) and I was NOT disappointed. It was a great investment.
