Crème -Estee Lauder - Maximum Cover
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 8/7/2009 4:22:00 PM
This foundation is phenomenal. That being said, if you have great skin then it probably isn't for you. I am very fair with pink undertones, and the lightest color Creamy Ivory is a great match. The pigmentation of this foundation is amazing. You really only need a pea sized amount to cover your entire face (and trust me, "pea sized" amounts of other things never seem to cover what I am assuming must be my freakishly large face {I'm starring at you, Retin-A}). This has the pigmentation to cover almost anything. Since I am so fair post break out marks are ever present on my skin but they hide SO well with this covering them. That is another thing. What is more annoying than finding a perfect cover for your break outs / post break outs only to find it breaks you out even MORE? Not the case with this for me. Doesn't break me out at all and almost anything breaks me out (Bare Minerals? Minerals of hell for me and my skin). I believe this was $29.50 - well worth the price as you need so little. I also like the tube, you only pitch out (it is a tube) what you need. I prefer using this foundation with my fingers (I usually used brushes or Beauty Blender / SK Blending Sponge). The dry down time of it is quite fast so you are better working in small areas with small amounts to achieve the coverage you are looking for.

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 5/31/2009 8:09:00 AM
After hearing the raves on MUA as well as another website I frequent, I knew I had to try this. My hair: Shoulder length, dry, colored. Wavy/puffy with frizz. Attractive, right? I bought it at Harmon's for $34.99 and I had a 20% off BBB coupon so it came out to be around $28. I am a loyal user of Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum which is similarly priced. I love the results that gives me but again, I wanted to try this. Moroccan Oil is a lovely product. It gives very similar results as the Kerastase for me, which leaves me with shiny, silky, smooth hair. The Moroccan Oil is slightly thicker in consistency and has a brownish tint to it (which Kerastase does not). I find that Moroccan Oil does not make my hair AS sleek as Kerastase without extra work with the blow dryer, but it isn't that big of a deal. I have brownish hair so if this product was greasy at all it would show up immediately. With all oil/serums, that is a concern for me. Moroccan does not leave a greasy feeling or look to my hair at all. I use this on damp hair which I blow dry and I've been quite happy with it. I tried it with air drying and sadly it did not work for me - I wound up with a wavy yet still puffy look. I am able to use Kerastase air drying with really pretty defined waves as a result so that was a downside for me with this product. I like it a lot better than Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum and *slightly* less than Kerastase Oleo Relax. The only thing I really dislike is the glass bottle it is in. My bathroom floor is tile and I worry about dropping it. Traveling with it would also be hard.

Other -Crest - Whitestrips Advanced Seal
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 5/14/2009 3:25:00 AM
I actually really like these new strips compared to the "regular" whitestrips. The Advanced Seal is about twice the price of the old whitestrips and in my opinion, well worth it. The old strips were really hard to keep in place, they would slide off and really if they aren't sticking to your teeth - they can't be doing much of anything for you! The Advanced Seals stick to your teeth with NO movement, IMO. They stay in place and do NOT move around so all of the whitening gel is able to be right where it needs to be - ON YOUR TEETH!! I did NOT start off with yellow teeth or anything, I try to maintain my white (not day-glo white, however) teeth with whitestrips about 2x a year. I use a box of these in addition to my usual Listerine whitening mouthwash. Yay! To recap, I really love these compared to the old ones. They are more expensive, but worth it because they stick to your teeth. I do not have day-glo teeth. Yet.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Pink Warm & Cozy
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 12/19/2008 10:47:00 PM
First of all, I love the packaging for this product. The other bottles of Pink body spritz are very...7th grade. So are the scents. This one is different. The fragrances at VS often wind up smelling cheap to me. Armed with the $10 GC I got in the mail for free, I figured I had nothing to lose. This stuff is exactly what I had thought Pink Sugar would be. However this is so much nicer, strangely! The scent is stronger and sweeter. It doesn't turn on me like PS does. I do like this scent very much and at $15, it is well worth it. I also picked up the body wash which is lovely as well.

Masks -Glytone - Acne Facial Mask
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 8/18/2008 12:36:00 AM
I do love this mask. My skin is so acne prone and oily.I've used a lot of masks in the past to help control breakouts. Of the many I've tried, Peter Thomas Roth's Sulfur mask (the old one, not the newer cooling mask) was the best. Of course, they discontinued it. I tried the famous Queen Helene mask in an attempt to find a mask with sulfur that worked as well. No go. Horrible. Then I tried this mask and I LOVE it. It's amazing. It's drying and that's what my skin needs. My skin LOVES sulfur. I breakout a lot less when I use it. I use it every night but my skin can handle it. I get it from SkinWest.com for under $17 shipped when they offer the 20% off coupons (often). LOVE!

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Serum
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 8/4/2008 7:38:00 AM
So I picked this up when I ran out of my usual serum, Kerastase Oleo Relax. After reading all these fabulous reviews I thought to myself that I needed to try it and if I could find a HG as good as Kerastase at half the price along the way, yay! Well it didn't work out that way for me at least. My hair is heavily highlighted, dry and wavy with a lot of....puff. I rival a poodle in summer months or sans Oleo Relax. So I applied starting out with 1 pump in damp hair. I noticed from the start the smell was yummy but the serum itself was a little sticky and heavier than Oleo Relax. I looked in the mirror and realized 1 pump was not cutting the situation that is my hair. I went for a 2nd pump and realized my hair was now a bit sticky to the touch. Things did not get better. I blew my hair dry, as usual, expecting the sleek hair so many of you got. Not happening. I wanted glossy locks with bounce and frizz free. I got a shiny puff, roughly the circumferance of the Earth. I did not find a replacement for my $35+ Kerastase and I have stopped looking. I have realized that I spend a lot more trying to find a cheap replacement in both money and frustration.

Hair Styling Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Bristle Hair Brush
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 6/18/2008 6:34:00 PM
After reading great reviews from both beauty magazines (which can be unreliable!) and other ladies, I knew I had to try this brush. Let me start with that my hair is shoulder length, very thick and naturally wavy/curly with puff to rival a poodle. Admittedly, I never used to brush my hair other than when blow drying. After I blow dry, I flat iron and wouldn't dare put a brush near my flat ironed hair due to the risk of re-puffing. Now I brush it all the time because the brush feels so darn good! No puffy mess after flat ironing, either! I've had this brush for about 3 weeks now and I SWEAR using it daily has made my hair shinier, smoother and easier to blow dry. I don't use it TO blow dry, but before hand, and the results are fabulous. This isn't an average cheap brush that pulls and hurts your hair/scalp. It glides through your hair, leaving it glossy. WELL worth the $15 and I swear my hair is less puffy.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 2/9/2008 12:50:00 PM
Okay girls, back off. *I* have the oiliest lids in the world - not you. Really! LOL. Anyway. My lids are oil slicks. I've tried the Urban Decay Primer Potion expecting a miracle. It didn't do a THING for me. In fact, I think I heard it laugh at me. I tried MAC Paints. Same thing. I won't even mention the L'Oreal, Tony and Tina and Benefit products I've tried. I tried this on a whim. It was near the register and I'm easily influenced. I put it on the next morning. I decided to test it out in full force. I used a little of this and put some Bobbi Brown Smoke eyeshadow on so it'd be really obvious if I creased. I used this on a Monday where I'm at school for 12 hours, 3 hours in a lab setting. I got home almost forgetting to check the status of my eyeshadow. Well good thing I did because it looked exactly the same as it did 12 hours earlier. The tube rocks because unlike the UD PP tube you get all the product in there. I LOVE this stuff. I guess it must be liken to cement but I don't care as it is the only thing I have ever tried that has kept my eyeshadow in place! $17.50 at Sephora, well worth it!

Eyeliner -Sephora - Flashy Liner Waterproof
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 2/8/2008 6:09:00 PM
I LOVE this pencil. It is everything I have been looking for in a pencil. First of all the COLOR is what drew me immediately. I bought 03 Flashy Mauve. I think "Mauve" is a little confusing because this isn't mauve at all. It's a flashy bright lilac irridecent purple. It's like UD Asphyxia in a pencil. The pencil itself is SUPER soft and comfortable to use, NO tugging at all. It lasts all day and has great color payoff. I am for sure going to buy more of these. I would have NEVER tried the Sephora brand but the color was AMAZING and for $8, I didn't have much to lose. GO for it!!

Shampoo -Ojon - Tawaka Rejuvenating Shampoo [DISCONTINUED]
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 8/4/2007 10:24:00 PM
This stuff was horrible. I got the shampoo in the tube design and the first time I tried to open it, the snap broke. I had to immediately decant it into another bottle or else it would have dripped down the drain. The scent wasn't that bad, I'm not usually bothered by scents of products.I actually really like the scent of the Ojon Restorative Treatment. Now the shampoo. I have longer, wavy thick color treated hair. After shampooing my hair was a tangled mess. I used the Ojon conditioner and was also disappointed by that. My hair was more frizzy, more lackluster and I swear, drier than it was before using the Ojon Tawaka. Another thing is that I have very dark brown hair. I used this product on a Monday night and by Tuesday afternoon my hair looked like it hadn't been washed in days. Totally disappointed. Plus, this stuff broke me out. Badly. I would have givent it 0 stars if at all possible.

Masks -Peter Thomas Roth - Therapeutic Sulfur Masque
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 8/4/2006 12:11:00 AM
This is BY FAR the best product I've EVER used on my skin. Let me begin that I'm 21 and I've had acne since I was about 10. I've been on rounds of Accutane but never managed to stay clear for long after the treatment. I tried this product about 3 months after I stopped taking my first month of my second round of Accutane (only took about 2 weeks worth of medicine, not enough to attribute my clear up to that). I stopped the Accutane because it was messing with my TriGlyceride levels. Not cool. I wanted to continue my search for something topical. I fell into this product at TJMaxx. It was missed marked for $7.99 instead of the other jars for $24.99. I figured for $8, I'll try it. Best $8 my skin has seen. I literally haven't broken out ONCE since staring this mask about 2 months ago. This has *NEVER* happened. My skin is SO clear - I no longer need foundation. I do however have to say that I use this mask as a light layer every night before bed. I leave it on for about 20 minutes, every night. My derm says that this is okay. Obviously a jar won't last me as long as people using it 2-3 times a wekk, but that's okay. I am fully ready to pony up the $40 when I need a new jar. This has seriously been the best product I've found for acne. I can't stress it enough. It's expensive, but go to Sephora and get a sample. I cherish this product, my skin is finally able to shine after years of being mortified about break outs.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Violet
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 2/5/2006 5:22:00 PM
Me: Cool toned PPP with brown hair/brown eyes.
I love this pigment! It is the perfect shade of purple without being too dark that it is unwearable for a PPP. It has the perfect amount of shimmer, not too much at all. I use it as an all over eye shade paired with other purples like Lovely Lilly and Kitschmas.
I suggest this pigment for any cool toned ladies with brown eyes highly. It's a great shade and it's super easy to blend and the color payoff is wonderful.

Palettes -Stila - Pastel Palette
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 10/4/2005 5:12:00 PM
Me: PPP, Brown eyes/brown hair. Cool toned skin.
This palette contains: Key, Cassia, Launey, Lemon, Kalo and Poppy.
For $36, six shades is a great deal. I like the packaging, it's sleek and easy to carry around.
I got this palette after I discovered how much I loved Stila's Confections for the Eyes (also known as the Neutral Shimmer Eye Palette). I thought I would love this one as much as that. Sadly, I don't. While it is still a nice palette, with some nice colors, the pigmentation in this palete is seriously lacking. Whenever I applied any of the colors, all I seemed to get was a washed out color look. On my PPP skin, that really surprised me. No matter how much I applied, it never looked like a full effect.
It's pretty use-less if want intense color from your eyeshadows. Since I've got PPP skin, intense is not always a good look. The lack of pigmentation does help in my department because it looks natural and pretty. But, for the price, I think you could do better if that's the look you are going for.

Mascara -La Prairie - new curling mascara
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 10/4/2005 5:05:00 PM
I was very excited to try LP's mascara because I've been nothing but happy with all of the other LP products that I own.
The mascara retails for $40US. I applied it to bare lashes (which, I admit are long & pretty full already) and the curl action seemed to actually work a bit. I honestly noticed a difference in the lift factor compared to regular mascara without use of a eyelash curler. The brush was wonderful, full and plush. I could even apply a few coats without getting the spider-lash look.
Then I discovered it flakes. Badly. At first I thought it was because of my "how many coats could I get on before looking scary" (a lot!) test but I applied it the next day, one coat, and the same thing happened! Flakes all over the bottom of my eye! Not what I expected from a $40 mascara!
Overall, the mascara is great in it's application and look. The only downside is the flakes! If the flakes came under control, this would definetly be a 5 lipstick product!

Treatments (Eye) -La Prairie - Skin Caviar Revitalizing Pads
CantMAKEUPmyMlND 10/4/2005 4:59:00 PM
I am 21, therefore, not exactly a LP "target" customer, but I do love their products.
The Eye Treatment Pads are sold together with the Eye Veil (which I did a seprate review for) for $125US. There are 10 packs to a set, and each pack contains 4 pads - 2 for the upper eye and 2 for the lower eye.
These Eye Pads are wonderful. I do not have problems with lines/wrinkles, but my eyes tend to look VERY tired after a long night or under stress. The pads have been nothing but wonderful to help fix it! The hydration from the pads is wonderful, my eye area does not look sallow after removing them. For added enjoyment, I pop these in the refridgerator and put them on chilled. It's a nice spa-like treatment at home.
I have also found that if you put back the pads on the sheet and back into the foil package and seal it up really well, you can get 2-3 uses out of each pack. Combined with the Eye Veil, this is a really great option for younger girls who party hard but don't want to look like it the day after! :)
