Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Advanced Care Moisturizing Cream
CancerianPrincess 11/11/2010 5:41:00 PM
This is the best cream out there. I have eczema on my face, arms, legs. I can use this all over my face and it doesn't break me out or irritate my skin. It takes care of all the dryness and keeps the eczema from forming. It's the ONLY thing that has kept me from having to resort to steroid ointments. Excellent cream for the face and neck. Not too thick if you have super dry skin like me. And very cheap for a face cream. I think they've changed this cream now to "Eczema Care" but it's the same thing and I Love, love, love it. I don't know what I'll do if they ever discontinue it.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Cool Moisture Body Wash
CancerianPrincess 9/24/2009 5:54:00 PM
Great body wash. Clean. Not as oily as the other Dove washes. Light scent makes me feel fresh. Not a bad thing. And the price is good. Not crazy expensive. What more can you ask of a body wash?

Cleansers -Origins - Cream Bar
CancerianPrincess 9/24/2009 5:50:00 PM
One word: Gross! I went out and bought this after reading all the glowing reviews of this Cream Bar on this site. So I guess I had really high expectations. This product sucked. First, it felt sticky and oily when I put it on my face. It rinsed okay, but the herbal scent was not pleasant. I smelled like "dong quai" -- like a Chinese apothecary shop. (I'm Chinese, i know what I'm talking about.) Like old ladies, stinky herbal medicine smell. And the bar was too soft and slippery. It flew out of my hands several times. On top of that, this broke me out immediately. So I said, okay, I'll use it for the shower. It really make my whole body reek of that herbal smell that I had to use my Clinique cleanser to wash off the residue after using the soap. After several baths and showers with the Cream Bar, I said to hell with feeling sticky and gross after a shower and tossed it in the garbage! A total waste of $11.50. I'm so glad they are getting rid of it. It's the worst soap ever invented. I'll do Olay or Dove any day over this stuff.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Shampoo (Normal Hair)
CancerianPrincess 9/24/2009 5:39:00 PM
A love/hate product. This is a weird one. I love the classic smell of the herbal essence shampoo and the pink formula seems to be the only one that they still sell. I wished they still had the one for oily hair because the pink one breaks me out. After I use this shampoo, I smell great but I always get at least one or two big pimples on my neck at the hairline. So no thanks. All the Herbal Essence shampoos seem to do that to me. I've switched over to Dove which doesn't break me out. Weird, huh?

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
CancerianPrincess 9/24/2009 5:36:00 PM
Ever see those Tide COLDWATER commercials that claim the product works better with cold water? Well, this Clinique cleanser is kind of like that for me. With warm water, this cleanser stings my eyes and dries my skin out, leaving itchy, flaky patches that don't go away, not even with moisturizer. But with freezing cold water, this product seems to work okay. It rinses off fresh, but I think it causes tiny pimples or hive-like things later on in the evening. I don't think I would buy it again obviously. I'd rather try Olay or Neutrogena. One thing though: I used this as a cleanser on my body and it stung my skin like crazy. Lathered up good though. Won't be trying again, even though I love the fresh-looking packaging and the easy tube.

Cleansers -Clarins - Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Plant Extracts [DISCONTINUED]
CancerianPrincess 9/24/2009 5:31:00 PM
I got this in the Dry/Sensitive skin formula. It washes off cleanly like silk and the scent doesn't bother me too much. But even with cold water, this seems to dry my skin out. But I have repurchased and it's better than my Clinique cleanser which I'm still up in the air about. It's a lot more expensive than Clinique. I'm going to enjoy my new tube, but when it's done, I might just go back to Olay sensitive skin cleanser. Cheaper and if it just dries up my skin too, well, same thing for less money.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
CancerianPrincess 10/23/2007 5:56:00 PM
This is the worst moisturizer I've ever tried. Pimples, pimples, pimples. As soon as I put this on, I break out. Large painful pimples where they were none before. It's greasy, sticky, and shiny. The SPF in it burns my skin. Oil of Olay is so much better in my opinion, even though it leaves the skin flaky. At least it doesn't break me out. I'm sticking to DDF until I can find something better. This product is terrible!!! Save your money!

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Original Body Lotion
CancerianPrincess 8/16/2007 1:42:00 PM
Everyone says this is a great lotion, so I bought it based on the reviews here. It is light and non-greasy, but it caused large cystic bumps and swelling all over my skin. I break out, itch, and swell up with this lotion. I think I might be allergic to the lavender in the lotion itself. There's another reviewer who mentioned the same problem. Be careful, if you start getting red swollen thick bumps on your skin after this lotion, you might be allergic to it as well. Just thought people should be aware of it.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer- Combination Oily to Oily [DISCONTINUED]
CancerianPrincess 6/18/2007 1:05:00 PM
I know that there are a lot of great reviews on this product, but this just burned my skin. Everything turned red and I got these tiny pimples. I don't know why since I got the one for Oily skin. It's going back as it cost me over $42 including tax. For that price, I should not be getting splotted burning skin. I used it for one weekend, and all the areas are now bright red. There are better things out there definitely and cheaper.

Treatments -Origins - Make A Difference
CancerianPrincess 4/25/2007 1:44:00 PM
It worked for about 2 months, then I developed an allergic reaction to it. Now every time I put it on, my skin gets itchy, red and flaky. And I scratch myself raw. It was good in the beginning, but it was not moisturizing enough for the winter months. I would never buy it again.

Three words: large cystic pimples. Every time I use this stuff, I break out into fat, pus-filled, giant pimples. I used it once a day ago, and now I'm sporting three of these beauties on my face. Nearly $40 an ounce for pimples. That's way too expensive. I can break out on my own with stress.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
CancerianPrincess 2/22/2007 8:22:00 PM
Best powder ever! As my skin got better, I wanted less makeup on my face. I got this in LIGHT and it's wonderful. Keeps me shine free all day with one application in the morning. It's very light and and definitely keeps the oilies at bay. I don't even have to retouch. Makes a look a little powdery but I like the Victorian look, so I don't mind that. Great for getting rid of shine from sunblock!

Moisturizers -Origins - Make A Difference Skin Rejuvenating Treatment
CancerianPrincess 1/29/2007 7:16:00 PM
This winter has been treacherous on my sensitive skin. And I've tried out at least 15 different moisturizers, from low-end drugstore to high-end department store. And none of them has been as good as this one. Origins Constant Comforter broke me out and turned me red and I was ready to never try Origins again, but after reading the reviews on this page, I decided to give this a try after my Aveeno stopped working. I was flaking, cracking with acne lesions. I've used this for about 3 days, and all that is gone. No more flakes and the acne lesions are healing up pretty quickly. This dries to a silky matte finish and leaves your skin more smooth and radiant. Definitely worth the $32.50.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Active White Daily Moisture
CancerianPrincess 12/27/2006 3:54:00 PM
I got a cream called Derma White from Clinique that comes in a frosted plastic jar. Clinique claims this is for formulated for Asian skin. Maybe this product really does try to lighten skin because my skin had a terrubke reaction to it! The spots I put this on turned bright red, itched, and burned and then flaked. Very bad indeed. And it dried my skin out too. Something which made the texture matte dried out my skin. For $35 an ounce, this was crap. Now I put Aveeno on my face, $3.49 for a 2.5 oz tube and it did what this cream could not!!! Look elsewhere, girls!

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Color Surge Impossibly Glossy in Camisole
CancerianPrincess 12/27/2006 3:36:00 PM
Icky, sticky, nacky. You get the idea. It should be called a lip oil paste or something like that. I got it as a free sample from one of Clinique's gifts and I threw it away after two uses. The color was way too light and had too much sparkle. I couldn't wipe the sparkle off my lips! It comes in a regular tub. Hygienic but not good for application. Won't be repurchasing. Stick with lipstick, girls. Can't kiss anyone with this "lip paste."
