Treatments -Ole Henriksen - Invigorating Night Gel
rated 1 of 5

Bought the trio set: serum, night gel and sheer transformations cream. I applied this after the serum and under the sheer cream at night. A few times, I used this during the day but it balled up. I don't like using this trio during the day for the lack of SPF. I didn't have any reactions to this but it made my skin feel tight as if I applied eggwhite. It didn't feel greasy or tacky but the eggwhite feeling made me feel as if I am causing myself more wrinkles. I feel gross when I have to dip my fingers (even after I've washed) into the jar. For the price of a full jar, I wouldn't repurchase. I think the price is too high for the poor result but Makeupally won't let me go higher than a 3 rating.

Skincare - Face -Ole Henriksen - Truth Serum
rated 1 of 5
Canadianpetite 5/18/2013 7:31:00 PM

Got this trio set - serum, invigorating night serum, sheer cream. The serum is in a spray bottle which I like for hygenic reasons. I applied the serum after cleansing my face at night then followed it with the night cream then sheer cream. A few times, I used this under my moisturizer with SPF. It balled up under my concealer. I imagine it would do the same under foundation which I don't use anyway. It smells citrusy and spreads well on my combo skin. It makes my skin a bit tacky (does that mean my skin is not absorbing it well?) After using the 15ml, I don't see any difference. How long and how much do you use for any visible change? For the high price, I expected more. SAs at Sephora sing high praises for it. I wouldn't repurchase.

Cleansers -Peter Thomas Roth - Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel
rated 3 of 5
Canadianpetite 3/22/2013 9:07:00 PM

Pros: - nice fragrance - cleans well enough for makeup - can be used with Clarisonic Cons; - must lather in hand for a while before applying to face - Sephora sells smaller bottle online only - if dry skin, could be drying if used twice daily Only had a small sample so could not attest too much to drying aspect of this product. Did feel drying after third time of use so if I had a bottle, I would probably use at night only to ensure all makeup is gone although I always use a cream or jojoba oil first to remove most makeup. If I had a bigger size bottle, I would pay attention to whether it cleans face so well that I will not get whiteheads (I don't have blackheads). If I buy, I would buy the smallest size online. Even if I buy two of those sizes, it is still cheaper than buying the 8oz that Sephora sells in their store thus the high rating on Price.

Treatments -Shiseido - Benefiance Energizing Essence
rated 4 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/22/2013 1:57:00 PM

Pros: - moisturizing, hydrating - hygenic pump dispenser - a little drop goes a long way - soothes irritated skin - signature Shiseido scent that I like (try before you buy) Cons: - still have to buy separate moisturizer so this serum adds to the beauty expense My mom used Shiseido since a visit to Singapore in her 30's. Her skin has always been very soft and smooth from using Shiseido. There are times when she tries to reduce expenses by using cheaper brands or switching to Estee Lauder or Clinique but her skin is at its best with Shiseido. Having said that, I try Shiseido products, convincing myself that the price is worth it. Mom is right - my skin feels so good with Shiseido and this product makes it even better. Whenever my skin feels dry or irritated, I spread a drop of this all over and my skin absorbs it. I happen to like the orchid scent of Shiseido products so I'm quite biased.

Moisturizers -Fresh - Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7 Complex
rated 2 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/22/2013 1:36:00 PM

Pros: - moisturizing - great for those unconcerned with aging - absorbs fast - no shine Cons: - scent is not to my liking (try before you buy) - no SPF - did nothing for wrinkles - skin felt slimy in the morning during cleansing Had a sample from Sephora so may not be long enough to see a difference with aging-related concerns. Seems to absorb fast with no greasy look or after-feel. In the morning, it felt a bit slimy as if the cream did not really get absorbed. The only thing that prevents me from buying this is the smell. It may be specific to this brand. I like signature scents from specific brands (eg Shiseido) but this one makes me gag. That's the main reason I would never buy this.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist 24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream
rated 4 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/22/2013 1:09:00 PM

Pros: - creamy consistency (not thick like a balm) - not greasy; not shiny - fine lines show under concealer - very light scent that I like - no milia Cons: - less affordable than drugstore creams - wrinkles are less pronounced unless use is discontinued My under eyes were looking crepey. This was recommended at the Shiseido counter and endorsed by Sephora SA so I have been faithful to this through two jars applied twice a day. I like the little spatula so the $67 jar stays hygienic. I usually apply this after cleansing and wait 30 minutes before applying makeup. It feels hydrating but whenever I check my concealer, it shows fine lines. This could be from the dry air in the office. Will buy third jar but also sampling other brands that lessen appearance of wrinkles.

Eyeliner -Avon - Mega Impact Eye liner
rated 4 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/17/2013 8:54:00 PM

I've been checking this out everytime it goes on sale. Avon just brought two new colors so I bought Sage. Pleasantly surprised at the gel consistency. So soft so no tugging or pulling on the skin. Sets quite quickly and did not fade away or smudge after four hours. When I looked in the magnified mirror, I saw the shimmer and some tiny glitter. At a distance when speaking to someone, the glitter is not noticeable but the shimmer is beautiful. Sage is dark enough to rim the eyes and show off dark, thick lashes. I wore this with Maybelline Tattoo shadow (in Bad to the Bronze). I just wish Avon had this in the non-sharpening packaging like their Glimmersticks. Pros: - gel that sets quickly - stays on for four hours with no smudges or fading - affordable - no tugging or pulling on skin Cons: - have to sharpen (a bother and possibly a waste of product)

Moisturizers -Caudalie - Huile Divine
rated 4 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/17/2013 8:32:00 PM

Found this as a recommendation for its fragrance. It took only a small sample from Sephora to convince me to return the next day for a full bottle. The $15 smalller bottles are all gone so I had to buy the huge bottle for C$49. Never mind - my husband and I love the smell and the moisturizing benefits without the greasiness. It also promises to be for hair, body and face. Yet to try on the face as I want to avoid pistules or zits but will try one day. If this doesn't cause any skin irritations, bumps, zits, pistules (thus reserving a 5lippie for more thorough use), there will be many more bottles in our future. I may even stock up. Pros: - fragance! so very heavenly - very moisturizing without being greasy - can be used as massage oil (hubby loves this esp for his dry skin) - beautiful glass pump bottle - no paraben, sulfates (family have sensitive skin) - does not stain clothes - large bottle will sustain me for awhile so it really is cost-effective Cons: - only available in one size (not as affordable to some people but hey, that could be a pro for me since no one else I know will smell the same)

Treatments (Eye) -B. Kamins - Bio-Maple Therapeutic Eye Cream
rated 2 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/17/2013 8:18:00 PM

The only other review here says this is recommended for those with blue rather than black undereye circles. I'm not good with undertone colors so I'll just say I have Asian coloring and my undereye circles look darker brown/saffron to me. This cream did not make a difference after a month of daily application. Maybe what I have is black circles. It was not hydrating but I was not expecting that. That said, this product may work for younger skin. Pros: - Canadian company Cons: - hard to find; may be discontinued - may have to use several containers before visible results - not hydrating enough for me

Skincare - Body -Fresh - milk mil body lotion
rated 2 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/10/2013 9:47:00 PM

Pros: - pleasant baby powder scent, if that's your thing) - watery for the summer Cons: - interferes with my perfume of the day - expensive (@ $24 for 8oz) - not moisturizing enough for winter - bottle does not come with pump for dispenser I received this as a sample from Sephora in November. By this time, I need a thicker, more moisturizing lotion/cream so this did not work for this time of year. I can see myself using this for the summer but then the scent is so strong, it would interfere with my perfume.

Hair -Bain de Terre - Recovery Complex Spa Therapy
rated 3 of 5
Canadianpetite 2/10/2013 9:43:00 PM

Was recommended this while I was pregnant even though the hair stylist kept complimenting me on how beautiful my hair is. For the little 2fl.oz. (50ml), it cost $16. Expensive so I hope it helped. My hair is naturally strong and usually split-end free so I don't know how much this made a difference to its health. I used this anyway to control flyaways. I used about 2 drops on my palm then rubbed it all over the ends of my long hair. Dispenser is pretty good as it is a squeeze bottle -- drips small amount so you can control the amount that comes out. Won't be buying again because my daughter and I are sharing Paul Mitchell's Skinny Serum (results of which really shows on my daughter's fine auburn hair). Pros: - keeps flyaways under control - says it helps hair be healthy (hope so) - one little bottle lasted me about 3 years - no smell Cons: - expensive

Liquid -Avon - Anew Age Transforming Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Canadianpetite 1/25/2013 12:25:00 AM

Pros: - not sheer so need only a little bit to have full-coverage - pump bottle so hygienic - quite runny so need only a little bit - can use wet sponge to apply sheerly - did not irritate my combination skin - no fragrance (or maybe my allergy-prone nose cannot detect as easily) - has SPF - evens skin tone perfectly (my skin looked softer and smoother) - did not oxidize; colour stayed true - skin felt hydrated - so light that I forgot I was wearing foundation - see-through bottle so you can see how much is left Cons: - not as cheap as other Avon foundations - does not deliver on claim to reduce fine wrinkles but I didn't buy the foundation for wrinkles I wore this on top of a foundation primer. It went on smoothly like other foundations. For the price, it really is a good foundation. The only thing I have to test is how it photographs (ghost-like then I'll be back to using MUFE HD).

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage
rated 1 of 5
Canadianpetite 1/10/2013 1:23:00 AM

Pros: - rollerball feels cool to the eyes but could easily use back of a spoon - came as GWP and I was able to get my moms too so had two tubes. Glad to be able to try it for free. Cons: - did not depuff - did not lessen dark circles - did not moisturize. Felt like I put eggwhites as it felt tight and crackly after it dried up on my skin. Applied once in morning and again at night religiously until both tubes were finished. Kept me supplied for a month but no results. Just like the cream, it does nothing.

Treatments -Clinique - Zero Gravity
rated 2 of 5
Canadianpetite 12/12/2012 1:29:00 AM

Pros: - moisturizing - did not cause pimples or heavy breakouts Cons: - did not see results (lifting) - tub where you dip your fingers (not hygenic) Gave rating of 2 because it was moisturizing but did not fulfill its promise of 'zero gravity'. Another fail for being so expensive without fulfilling its promise.

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
rated 4 of 5
Canadianpetite 12/12/2012 1:18:00 AM

Pros: - very gentle, doesn't dry my (combo) skin - pump dispenses right amount for me - pump does not waste liquid - lasted me a long time - nice looking bottle but see my con below Cons: - doesn't lather so ended up using more until I got used to no lather - bottle leaves big environmental footprint Got 50ml tube as part of GWP.
