Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Sweet Mint
rated 4 of 5

I love the slight mint taste and smell of this product. It feels moisturizing when you first put it on, but that feeling doesn't tend to last as long as the Chapstick brand (it's less waxy than Chapstick) The shape of the balm takes some getting use to. My only complaint is that it takes up more room in my purse than a slender lipstick style shape.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash
rated 4 of 5

I've tried a lot of the lower cost drugstore mascaras (I'm not a fan spending a lot of money on something that will only last a few months before going bad) and this is one of the better ones. It does separate the lashes and lasts a very long time without smudging. It takes a lot to remove this product and that to me is a good sign of long lasting effectiveness. I only wish it would thicken the lashes better, but it's touted as a definition mascara, so I guess I can't complain too much

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational Pink Me Up
rated 4 of 5
Calincherie 2/17/2013 11:54:00 PM

I have a few lippies from this line because I like that there's no slippage in the formula, so no bleeding into corners. It's texture reminds me of a lip liner in a lipstick format. Compared to other lipsticks, it doesn't glide on as easily and you have to apply more pressure (not a lot but more so than a nyx round lippie). It has very good lasting power (about 6 hours on me with minimal eating & drinking) and wears down to a stain. Another reviewer hit it directly on describing the color--a brighter medium pink with a slight coral tone. I went into the store looking for a mlbb lippie and I blame the lighting in the store in making me think this lipstick was a pink brown. Though it wasn't what the color I was searching for, this is a great color when I want a pop of color. Goes very well with my pale skin without screaming "look at my lips!"

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Syrup
rated 5 of 5
Calincherie 2/10/2013 12:27:00 PM

This is a very moisturizing your lips but better mauvey color on my pale skin. I see more plum in it than pink. I've used it so much that I'm at the point of needing a lip brush to get it from the bullet. A definite repurchase.

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick in Brave
rated 4 of 5
Calincherie 2/10/2013 12:22:00 PM

This is definitely a my lips but better rosy nude on my pale skin, but my only complaint is that it's very drying. It does have the usual vanilla scent to it, but it's not overpowering.

Concealers -L'Oreal - Infallible Concealer
rated 4 of 5
Calincherie 2/10/2013 12:17:00 PM

I like the texture of this product because to me it covers better and a little goes a long way. I don't find it too thick or cakey and it provides more coverage than a liquid concealer. It eliminates redness and doesn't scream "I'm using concealer to cover acne!", either.

Blush -NARS - Sin
rated 1 of 5
Calincherie 2/10/2013 12:03:00 PM

Unfortunately, this blush does not work with my very pale skin. I can never seem to apply it evenly, either. I look unnaturally red cheeked with splotches, it's almost as if I took a red lippie and smeared it onto my cheeks. I'm sure this would be a lovely color for medium or dark skin tones, just not for the very pale.

Makeup Brushes -Jane Iredale - Handi Brush
rated 5 of 5
Calincherie 2/10/2013 11:55:00 AM

I bought this brush years ago and it's held up really well. I use it for any type of mineral foundation. The bristles are incredibly soft and any product gets evenly distributed. My only complaint is that it's hard to clean. I find I have to wash it with cleanser about 5 separate times to get out all of the powder that had settled deep down in the base of the brush. I would purchase again if anything happened to this brush, but honestly it's lasted for so many years without a replacement that I see a repurchase only if I lost it and not due to wear and tear. Definitely worth the price tag when I factor how long I've had it!

Palettes -Urban Decay - Glinda Palette
rated 4 of 5
Calincherie 2/6/2013 10:26:00 PM

I've always been impressed with UD eyeshadows and this palette is no exception. The shadows all have a shimmer to them, some more the others. I really like South, which turns a taupey gray shimmer on me and makes a nice neutral. I'm not a big fan of Magic, the pink eyeshadow shade, though...mainly because I'm pale and pinks don't work well with my skin tone (makes me look like I'm ill!) I've never used a highlighting color beneath the brow bone before, but I loved the violet white shimmer side of Aura. I feel ethereal wearing it. Tornado is a great outer crease color, a dark purple. All the shadows go on evenly and are easy to blend. My only complaint with the gold/silver combo is the fallout of glitter. I haven't been able to use them effectively yet because of this. The eyeliner glides on effortlessly, but that's also it's downfall because it smudges easily. I use it to line the top only now. I love the Glinda lipgloss. It's a perfect my lips but better bronzy rose. Overall, a very good palette, especially considering the price for individual eyeshadows would far exceed the $50 price tag, and that's not including the eyeliner and lipgloss. It's a steal for UD!

Liquid -Kat Von D - Lock-It
rated 1 of 5
Calincherie 1/14/2013 9:57:00 PM

I never buy liquid foundation because they make me break out and I can never find the right color. For the past few years, I've been using mineral foundations and this KVD foundation is a prime example why I will never use liquid foundation again. It's expensive, it's lighter colors are way too yellow for me and it broke me out badly! Not only that, but it dries quickly and blending is a pain, its very heavy and cakey, and my skin felt like an oil slick in a matter of hours. I'll stick to my mineral foundations, thank you

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
rated 5 of 5
Calincherie 1/14/2013 9:41:00 PM

Though I have a million different hand lotions, I can never remember to use them on a daily basis, so I turn to this HG product when the skin on my hands need major help- to the point where they crack and bleed (I know, I know... I should never let it get to that point...). This ointment is super moisturizing and a little goes a long way, so it lasts a really long time! Would definitely buy again.

Treatments -Dove - Nourishing Oil Care Anti-frizz serum
rated 4 of 5
Calincherie 1/14/2013 9:31:00 PM

When I got this at the store, I was really looking for the sample I tried of Dove's style & care anti frizz cream since I was so impressed with it from just the small packet I had, but I couldn't find it. I bought this instead and it's pretty comparable. It works more like a detangler for me and I have less frizz than before, but the style & care cream did a better job with anti frizz. The smell is classic Dove, which I love. I would prefer it with a different dispenser though. I've never liked the lift up tops that are still connected (like a sports bottle) and would like a pump feature instead. Overall, very good product.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Glossy
rated 2 of 5
Calincherie 1/14/2013 9:15:00 PM

I bought this based on all the positive reviews, but am not at all impressed. I have thick and long hair. This product made my hair tangled and sticky. It has such a thick texture...reminds me of MAC's lipglass, to be honest. Didn't help with frizz at all and was hard to wash off my hands! Two thumbs down!

Lipstick -NYX - Lipstick- #529 Thalia
rated 1 of 5
Calincherie 12/23/2012 2:42:00 AM

After hearing from others with pale skin like myself that they treat this as their MLBB lipstick, I wanted to try it. Even though it was cheap, I regret buying it! The color has too much brown in it to match my lips and looks garish on me (my lips are a light berry-pink color naturally). The smell and taste are HORRIBLE. I felt nauseous the moment I licked my lips with it on because it tasted like cleaning product! The smell is very chemical too. I'm very disappointed because NYX has such a variety of color options and I don't trust that a different color would taste or smell better.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Acai Berry
rated 3 of 5
Calincherie 12/19/2012 1:55:00 AM

I'm more of a flavored lip balm kind of person, so when I saw it had the acai berry, I thought it might have a berry flavor-- It doesn't. It smells like acai berry, just minus the flavor. It's texture is a little on the grainy side and I prefer more of a waxy feel. It does moisturizer the lips well though.
