BB Cream -Clinique - Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30
CairiS 4/21/2013 12:55:00 PM
So I've held off in writing how much I love this product for a whole week, I just kept thinking this must be too good to be true! First off my shade (fresh peach) is an exact match for my skin tone - normally i have an absolute headache trying to find the right shade and end up using a touch of bronzer to darken slightly or buying two foundations and having a good mix daily. This is a perfect my skin but better. It feels light on my skin and hydrates throughout the day. My skin gets dry by the afternoon and begins to look dull - this just glosses right over than mid afternoon skin slump, without making my face look like I have dipped my face in a vat of oil. I knocked one mark off as I do have to use a tiny amount of translucent powder to set as it does take a little while to set itself. It offers great buildable coverage. Not enough to cover some of my worst acne scars but it really evens out my face - add a wee spot of concealer (BB concealer kit) here and there and my skin looks flawless. Add all the above to the fact that it has SPF 30 hidden away inside and I'm a very happy girl. Will definitely be repurchasing!

Liquid -Unlisted Brand - Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation and Concealer
CairiS 4/14/2013 4:23:00 PM
I bought this in a moment of frustration after weeks of searching for a good colour match with no results. I bought this in porcelain and it is maybe a smidge too light but nothing a touch of bronzer cant cure. Its got a lovely dewy finish and really looks like my skin but better - it evens out my skintone and gives a lovely healthy glow - the concealer on top also does a great job of covering minor blemishes but I still reach for my heavy duty concealer for larger spots. Overall this is the foundation I reach for nearly every day - and every day it makes me feel glowy and pretty. The only downside is there is no stockists near my house so I have to be organised in re-ordering!

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Nude Magique CC Cream anti dullness
CairiS 4/14/2013 4:15:00 PM
With the UK stance on MU returns I always try and get samples before purchasing a product at the DS so I got the anti redness version as a sample from the L'Oreal website. THANK GOODNESS I DID! Honestly this was horrible, it went on green and as I rubbed it in my skin went from green to bright orange! Now I am pale, normally the first or second palest shade when getting colour matched, but this was rediculous. Anyway, don't buy it, even though its cheap it's not worth it.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
CairiS 1/15/2013 7:50:00 AM
I have been using my giant bottle of Cetaphil sporadically since the summer but have started using it 'properly' twice a day since Christmas when I decided my new years resolution would be to get my skin back under control and feel comfortable enough to go mu free! I wanted to try the acne.org regimen but since I can't find BP in the UK I am having to make it my own way and so far so GREAT; skin is glowing and even my problem chin is calm (although it does still have to go through the monthly hormone attack). My routine is Morning: Wash with cetaphil, tone with Origins 'a perfect world', moisturise face with Nip+Fab moisture fix and eyes with Clinique All about eyes rollerball. Night:Wash with cetaphil, tone with Clinique Step 2 of the Acne system, moisturise face with Nip+Fab moisture fix and eyes with Clinique All about eyes rollerball. As a facewash (with water): This product is brilliant, with 2 washes it takes off all mu and leaves skin soft and glowy. As a dry facewash (no water): It's still good but leaves a 'film' on my skin that I just can't wait to wash off. If it keeps up like this I will definitely be repurchasing!

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
CairiS 11/18/2012 1:16:00 PM
Colour: I have actually found a foundation that is pale enough for me (shade 1.0 but I would be quite happy with 0.5 too) without being too yellow or pink Feel: Feels like my skin which is a huge plus for me but after a few hours wear it gets a bit itchy around my chin and tbh I can't wait to get it off :( Coverage: The SA says the product is really buildable, she gave me 'medium' coverage which I would say is more like full for me. I would have liked much less on but that is just me. Transfer: Terrible transfer, one phonecall a half hour after putting this on and my cell was covered and my cheek wasn't. Sadly thats enough to put me right off. Finish: Ok, on me works well with my combi skin keeping my dry cheeks hydrated and my oilyT shine free. Overall - A good foundation but not what I am looking for

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Curling Mascara
CairiS 11/3/2012 4:15:00 PM
I have been using this for years and it is the closest thing I have come to for my HG mascara. I use colour black brown. Pros Full, separated natural lashes Doesn't melt in heat, (even when I worked through a hot, humid Floridian summer in an outdoor setting.) Cons Doesn't hold a curl Flakes off if you go swimming I do love this mascara and I guess you can't have it all but I would have expected a curling mascara to hold a curl better...it's the only reason it's not my HG.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes
CairiS 7/16/2012 11:41:00 AM
I got this as a tester, thank goodness I didn't spend any of my hard earned $! Thought I would try it out as I really like the All about eyes gel rollerball and thought this would be a more intensive version.....boy was I wrong. 1st use: slight itching but it had been a long day and the skin round my eyes was very dry, thought nothing of it 2nd use: burning sensation...waking up the next day all round my eyes was red and cracked and so bloomin' itchy!!! That was it, I have never used it again and never will. I did go to the Clinique counter to speak to a SA assistant about it I was told 2 things, 1- I was using too much 2- The product wasn't designed to be used around the eyes What a load of bull****

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Cosmic Raspberry
CairiS 7/13/2012 7:15:00 AM
I really like this lippie for a for a fun pop of colour that isn't as intense as red (my lips are quite pigmented and it shows darker than the above pic). I bought it after the SA brought it out and I nearly ran screaming from the store since it was SO.DANG.BRIGHT. but as soon as she popped it on I fell in love. Its a beautiful bright pink (looks great on my PPP skin and blonde hair) and if you are wanting to soften it a little a bit of clear gloss over the top looks fab. However I'm not sure of the formula, it has great staying power (lasts all day) but has a tendency to feather, even with lipliner, if you don't apply it with a good lip brush. The only reason I said I wouldn't purchase this colour again is I love experimenting with lip colour and I couldn't guarantee I wouldn't find one I would like more, if there isn't another this will definitely be back in my shopping bag!

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
CairiS 6/17/2012 9:07:00 AM
I have been using this product for about 2 weeks now...I really like it but there are a few problems. THE GOOD I have fair skin but take a good golden glow in the sun, like previous folk have mentioned when I first pumped this out the tube I though "oh no" its grey...really grey but a thin layer on the skin and within a minute it was my exact skintone (this never happens for me foundations and tinted moisturisers are either too light or too dark). The finish is sheer and natural but it covers any redness really well, it doesn't however cover my dark acne scarring on my chin and I do need to pop a touch of extra concealer on there. THE BAD My one and only complaint about this product is that I cant wear this product without moisturiser as my skin is just too dry. When I do use moisturiser by midday my face is an oil slick. Bad but completely manageable with blotting and a little extra setting powder throughout the day.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Magic Lumi - Light Infusing Primer
CairiS 6/11/2012 5:14:00 AM
I am in two minds about this product, the first few uses were great: holds your makeup in place for hours and gives you a gorgeous glow... but then I met my friend for lunch and within 5 minutes of our chat she hits out with "I'm sorry but what is going on with your skin, you look like a disco ball or a poor extra from twilight" (this girl is like a sister and one of the few people who can get away with saying this)...and so ends my love affair with this product. I might use it sparingly during the winter months when my skin is duller but unfortunately for summer it is a big no

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmerbrick Shimmer Brick Compact (All colors)
CairiS 5/28/2012 1:36:00 PM
I got my shimmer brick last year in a limited edition offer. First the SA was rubbish, really giving the impression he was not wanting to be there and not wanting to tell me about any of the products, but the offer seemed so good I couldn't pass it up. The shimmer brick was far too dark for my fair skin (bronze, beige and brown colours) but the reason it gets 3 lippies is it makes the perfect smokey eye for me. As a blush/bronzer I will never use this product but as an eyeshadow palette it is perfect and I use it over and over again. I wouldn't re-purchase this particular shade but I am tempted to buy a lighter pink colour to test it out.

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Head to Toe baby wash
CairiS 5/28/2012 1:27:00 PM
After spending loads of time and money trying out expensive cleansers that just weren't working I finally decided to try out this. I am so glad I did! My skin glows, I still get the occasional pimple but nothing as bad as what I have had in the past, all for a cheap as chips price. My only criticism is I find the product quite drying initially but after a good blob of moisturiser (regular during the day and intensive at night) my skin looks better than ever. EDIT: out of the summer months I can't use this product without it making my skin overly dry :( relegated to washing my MU brushes now

Lipstick -L'Oreal - rouge caresse
CairiS 5/19/2012 11:08:00 AM
I bought this the other day in Dating Coral, I LOVE it, so pretty! It has a nice lightweight feel on the lips and also has a nice gloss/sheen. Going to go and purchase a few more colours to add to my collection. Only downside is you do have to reapply quite a lot but for me that isn't a deal breaker. EDIT: I loved this so much I bought a few more colours Aphrodite Scarlet, a lovely pink/red but in my mind not a true Scarlet, and Impulsive Fuschia which is bright bubbly and very fun. I'm going to continue to collect these as they don't disappoint! The are quite drying on the lips but with a layer of balm they work well

Treatments -Philosophy - Resurface Kit - The Microdelivery In-Home Vitamin C Peptide Peel
CairiS 5/17/2012 8:58:00 AM
I received this product as a sample in store (a sachet of the VitC crystals and a sachet of the activation serum) as the Philosophy counter had just opened in my local department store. I tried this out last night, unsure of what to expect as my skin in quite sensitive and prone to cystic acne around my chin. The vitaminC crystals smell amazing and really boosted my mood, but upon application of the serum the warmth was quite extreme and I very nearly gave up and washed the product off early, boy am I glad I didn't! My skin is baby soft, my acne scars are slightly reduced (I'm sure this effect would continue with more usage) and I definitely have a bit of a glow about me today! The reason this product gets 4 lippies from me is because of the price and also the fact that I had to moisturise twice, an hour apart, after using as my skin felt a little tight (it is absolutely fine this morning). I REALLY wish this product was cheaper as it is completely out with my price range, I will definitely be looking for offers!!!

Shampoo -John Frieda - Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo
CairiS 4/16/2012 9:52:00 AM
This has been my go to shampoo since it's release a few years ago. I have natural blonde hair, ranging from really light blonde in the summer to dark in the winter, this product really saves my hair in the duller months. It is, however, worth noting that a friend of mine with dyed blond hair used this product and found that it left her hair dull. My only concern with this product is that it can sometimes leave my scalp feeling itchy if I use it on every wash, I find that if I alternate washes or do two washes with this then one of another shampoo my scalp is fine.
